Bought a blouse and paid cash for the item. Came back the following day to exchange for a different item. The store had to refund me R100, which they don't have. I was asked to walk around for 1hour imagine that🙄 went back and was told, wait another 30min pispoor service?
I had an issue which the owner at this store dealt with speedily and satisfactorily.
I was very impressed with the level of attention my complaint got and the commitment by management to investigate and do better.

We wanted to to buy 3 items on the 75% discount rail, but when I got to the till the full
Price was charged.
After querying this with the teller, she went to check and confirm it was last years stock and should have been discounted.
She called the supervisor, who also checked, but said that all 3 items must have been misplaced .. even though he couldn’t find a rail where the rest of the stock is. It were single items.
It couldn’t have been misplaced.
The manager refused to honour the discount, and said he will follow up - but did not take any of my details.
His attitude was really shocking
The teller apologised afterwards.
Really not a good customer experience today at Ackermans.

Absolutely terrible behaviour from the Staff today in store , took my girlfriend shopping bag forcefully from another store straight of of her hands and not saying anything, no explanation on why doing so making her uncomfortable and making her feel like she has done something wrong. And putting the bag behind the counter.

Walked into this huge store and was served immediately by a friendly lady named Michelle October who made sure I was happy. Will definitely return again!

Just bought something at the store and found the Manageress very unhelpful and rude as there was a problem with all your card machines. Was not a pleasant experience.

Just wanna shout a big up to Lucinda at Poetry Somerset Mall, what a star and an excellent service you deserve a big up ,walking in your store and you could pick up I'm troubled and you going all out to jump for your sister store Cape Union Mart .I had such a bad experience upon collection of my order where I was told even the courier company does not exist but that didn't stop you to look deeper to my problem, track and assist to find my order that was actually there, stopped me on using my airtime after being on hold for 22min to find my order. You assured me that you will find it and revert back to me and indeed you kept your word. All along my order was there with them just someone couldnt do their job properly. It was so disappointing to get such service but thanks to someone like you who put me all at ease and helped me to track my order I'm forever grateful, stay as humbled as you are Poetry Somerset did a best job by selecting such a champion …..Thank you so much , you deserve a reward and keep up with your good work .

I just experienced shocking customer service. I was with my cousin helping her find matric ball dresses and had wanted to take a smaller size in a dress that she liked to the room that she was in. I greeted the fitting room lady (pictured) and told her that I was taking a different size to my cousin. I walked on and she shouted HELLO to me, gave me a very dirty look and shoved a tag at me. I saw that a different lady had done the same thing and she was treated very differently.
Amber was so lovely and helpful. She helped us find the most beautiful dresses for my bridesmaids!
Worst experience shopping online! None of the contact numbers work, it has taken more than a week and my handbag is still not delivered. The courier company keeps putting the phone down and Forever New just doesn’t reply to emails or answer their phones.
I always find specials at this store! Only disappointment is that they don't stock king size comforters otherwise great store.
Would be great if they kept kids white school tekkies throughout the year.

Hi, ibwas looking for a dress for my daughter's mateic dance. I had already given up looking until i was passing your store and one dress cought my eye. I brought my daughter to the store and she lived it. Wore it on her big day and was so happy. I was also happy with my purchase. Thank ypu Forever New. I give you 5 golden stars
My Anywhoo's...firstly, I am not a Forever new person. HOWEVER 😏 ... IF your style for the most part resembles that of Jackie 'O' then getting your coats from Forever New is a must! OMW🤭 I am completely inlove with my coats🧥 . They are pricey, R2k but definitely worth it. Further to that, the staff are quite warm and friendly. So👍...and until next time...😉

Went today for one shirt and they were already closed, sign says they will close at 5 for stock taking and not at 3, security was knocking for about a half an hour and was completely ignored. More than 5 customers was waiting outside and you could see there is people inside that looked like customers, if they'd close earlier, the nice thing to do was at least tell security why and not waste everyone's time.
Absolutely pathetic. Waited in a que at cashier's for more than 30 min while there were only 2 cashiers and each assisting a customer. Only 3 people waiting in the qué. The cashier on the fat right was having a tea party and family get together with the 6 people that was part of her customer.
The rest of was just had to wait in the que. The other cashier was busy filling in forms with a customer.
No really Ackerman's step it up. Do u not have managers that can jack up these issues?

Poorly staffed and always a long wait. Not enough cashiers, and staff couldn't care less about people waiting. One of the worst Pep stores I've been to.
Maureen thanks for saving the day and the extra effort you've made to make customers feel welcome and happy. You've taken the time to take the blame for incompetence of your colleague so in my opinion you deserve 5 stars.
I called the store yesterday to enquire about their scarves i have seen online. I needed to know if they had the one in store. I spoke to Nadine - she was so helpful and friendly. They did not have the scarf i was looking for. Nadine then went the extra mile to send me pictures of what they had in store in order to save me the trip should i not like what was there. She then put aside the scarf i liked and arranged with Shameez to assist me the this morning when I collect it. Shameez was very helpful and also assisted in neatly wrapping the gift.

Horrible, always a long queue. I went in there this morning and my card decline numerous times.i went to bank and inquire and found out there is nothing wrong with my card.went back to pep to a long queue and see the same cashier telling people that there cards is not working but it was there machines that was faulty. No communication to customers making them wait in the queue for long and then say your card is not working can you please give draw money

Nice and clean place. Lots of cheap clothes here. Not the best quality but not the worst either. If you're on a tight budget, then this is the place to shop. They cater for the masses. Always full. You're must go early to avoid big crowds. They follow covid policy here.

This store has moved forward in leaps and bounds. Considering that most garments are manufactured in South Africa...they do offer a wide range to choose from, and generally over all their quality has improved. ( so support local when you can).
I think for most moms...its a go-to store for school uniforms ( its simply affordable)....and when your babies are busy growing by-the- minute into little big people...its surely makes sense to buy affordable clothing, as kids grow out of their clothes so fast.( so start saving yourself some money now).
For me, I found items ( for eg: beauty mirrors and cosmetic/ brush holders) that I use on a daily basis for my beauty workshops, to be really great value for money...especially when you are buying 20-30 units of the same item quite regularly.
The only thing I would like to see change...is that they should create more of a "organized" shop front, with organized shelving/ lighting... to display stock in an appealing way. ( visualization is still key to attracting buyers).

I like the store because it has a variety of things. Clothes, kitchenware, toiletries, kitchen cleaning stuff, etc. You name it. The staff are friendly. The line can generally be long but the wait is not long. The ladies at the counter are super efficient and the music can get even the stiffest bones moving, lol. I enjoyed my shopping experience. The prices are always the best and very affordable for quality stuff.

One of my favorite shops!! I seldom walk out not having bought something. The prices are most reasonable for quality items.
When returning clothes that does not fit they inform you that it is company policy to issue you with a voucher and not cash. Which is against the law!

The Hood Store is not a legit shop but a scam. Please don't be fooled and place an order with them. They have not delivered my goods.

I love Contempo. They sell high quality clothes at reasonable prices. There is also always specials and nice bargains on display. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The staff do not understand the difference between UK shoe sizes and US shoe sizes and do not know which we use in South Africa....

I was looking for my graduation dress. I asked for a size 16 unfortunately they did not have. So I took the size 14 to check, because the dress seem like a big make. When I asked for the fitting room the lady told me from the on go it won't fit, after she whispered in Afrikaans to her colleague . I was so disappointed I just walked away. Judging from my body structure the dress would not really fit only if I had big bust.
