Festive Holiday Lights was a great expérience with kids. Lights are stunning and the projector effects they had made it come to life. With a magic show and fire show for Entertainment and Characters like the Grinch, and others walking around entertaining the kids was a great add on. The Tunnels were beautifully decorated. We would go again. Parking across George Brown college was an easy walk to the main entrance of the light show. Dress warmly and it's a great evening of fun.
To say I felt like a princess walking the halls of Casa Loma is an understatement. It was so beautiful taking everything in at our own pace 🥰 I recommend watching the historical video in the basement before walking the castle because it tells you all you need to know about the history of the castle and the man behind its creation. It was a perfect day trip in Toronto and I’ll definitely be returning in a princess gown for the pictures.
A small little museum, not too much going on. Really depends on what's on at that time and what interests you. Takes 30 minutes tops to see. A great perk though is that you can get free tickets through the Toronto Public Library program.
We went for the free Fridays, so we didn’t pay anything. We liked the 3 exhibits. It was very quick, but we liked it.
A small, but well-curated contemporary museum. The building itself had interesting architecture, and bathrooms were readily accessible throughout. The café on the ground floor was cute, but pricey such that we did not partake.
Bit of an up and coming area, took advantage of the free Friday night special and enjoyed the exhibits. Was disappointed that the interactive light exhibit that was advertised was actually an exhibit from a few years ago, this was the reason why we went so it was annoying that there wasn’t anything similar happening on-site. Staff and facility was nice and there is a bar serving coffee, alcohol, French/Italian style baked goods/sandwiches and art for purchase.
A luxurious castle that is a must visit. Perfectly preserved interiors of bedrooms, offices, children's rooms and restrooms. Museum of Intelligence and Military History. Collection of antique cars. The Wax Museum. If you're lucky enough to visit the castle during the Christmas holidays, you'll be treated to a journey to Santa through the underground tunnels. I recommend!
The Toronto Railway Museum is in the heart of downtown Toronto, opposite to C N Tower and Ripley's Aquarium. The Toronto Railway Museum is the repository of the railway history. Worth a visit to this place to see the old engine and bogie, and the history of railways in Canada.
My parents were married here, back in 73. They passed 17 years ago. This year, we went onto ancestry and found a half sister and a half aunt! We brought them here to share some of mom's history with them at Christmas time. Afterward we did the holiday lights tour. It was beautiful and magical.
Genuinely appreciated spending a few hours here exploring yesteryear. I cannot fathom living in a house of this size for 10 years. The visit is totally worth the ticket cost. We got an Uber to drop us off as we didn’t want to deal with city driving and parking. Definitely worth it. The house is massive so the so many areas to explore. The Christmas decorations and shows make it even more magical.
I enjoyed visiting the textile museum. It reminded me of various reference of many cultures that I’ve experience throughout my life though textile. Beautiful!
I was disappointed, there isn’t much of an immersive experience or enough exhibits to see. The trains in the open area are impressive but you can easily miss out on

It's pretty small, so visits are usually shorter. I do love that they always have new exhibits. It's a great spot to spend an hour and then grab a coffee. Overall, I definitely recommend a visit.
The museum fully preserves a Chinese tomb and artifacts from different dynasties, including remarkably rare intact murals. The second floor provides a detailed and comprehensive presentation of biodiversity and introduces the diverse animals in the natural world. It's well worth spending an entire day exploring.
it’s FREE every Friday after 5pm. Get tickets before hand. There’s a cafe on the main floor delightful setting great for groups or individuals grabbing something or lounging.

I enjoyed the talk very much and gained insight behind the photography pieces and paintings behind Ken Montague’s collection.
There are 3 floors in the building, each floor focusing on one artist.
On the ground floor, there is a large window.
A window piece by an Iranian artist referencing Middle Eastern art and design elements that make up a pattern. As the artist states, this large window is similar to a screen where one can’t see inside from the outside but if one is inside, you can see the outside. A person can observe but not be observed.
The colour against the raw concrete is quite dramatic and beautiful.
The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

It was an amazing experience. The beauty and love put into the art, quilts, and other textiles were evident in each piece. The details were undeniably perfection. The vibrant colours, the subtleties, and nuances were captivating. There was an exquisite exhibit from Nova Scotia. The quilts tell a story and have a hidden message within the pattern. These codes of communication for enslaved people seeking freedom are also records of family history and a celebration of Black women and culture.
I have to be fair since the last museum I went to was The Met in NYC - ROM just isn't close to that but it is still worth visiting. I went on a Friday and went straight to the second level, I pretty much had the place to myself which was great. The animal area is simply underwhelming and a waste of space in my opinion, just a bunch of stuffed animals in cases? The dinosaurs were really impressive along with the Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Cyprus exhibits. I thought some of the European furniture displaying what you may have found in different eras to be really well done too. Don't think I'd rush back but it's a great way to spend 2-3hrs.
Cool castle a few kilometers away from Toronto. I went with my parents and we spent about 2 and a half hours here. The time flies by as you walk around the gardens, interior rooms, and all the terraces in the high floors. Great views from everywhere especially the top of the castle. There is also a nice wax museum with celebrities that has nothing to do with the castle but is cool nonetheless. The audio tape given helps you understand and learn the history of this place. I highly recommend coming here if you have the time.
It's been a great experience visiting this place. Jackets inside is not required that much in winters so you might consider keeping at entrance for CAD3 or carry around. Every section is very well explained. Cover floor wise. Buying tickets was easy at the counter.
It is a great place to experience the old times in Canada. You can see couple of people with old outfits to help you absorb the vibe.

I visited the textile museum during the breath exhibition, which showcased contemporary artworks inspired by emotions experienced during Covid-19. I also enjoyed seeing the permanent collection of historical textiles from various cultures. However, I wish they had provided some information about the meaning and context of the temporary exhibits right next to the masks.
The legend of horror is such a fun show. We have come here twice in the last two years. The live actors, music, atmosphere are all so good. I don’t know why people call the experience overrated. We thoroughly enjoyed.

ROM is one of the must visit place in Toronto, Canada. Great infrastructure and design. It consists of tradition and heritage of all countries & continents over world. Kids can enjoy the T-Rex Dinosaurs shows, gallery of birds & animals and aquariums and many insect galleries. There is also activity area with many games for your kids to play. There is restaurant inside and toilets.
I was here last night on a group tour, most kids in third grade would have remembered pioneer village.
But at night it was definitely different.
The lovely Kent from haunted tours, took us around stopping at select houses and telling us the backstories and occurrences that have happened. Or so they say....
The one house I felt my chest get heavy and a slight headache was the Maser house. Located across the cemetery. Listen carefully to the story and be careful during your visit.
All in all , it was a good walk and cool ro see the village. I recommend it.

I had the most wonderful time visiting the Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM is an absolute treasure trove of history and culture. The exhibits are diverse and well-curated, providing a fascinating journey through art, natural history, and world cultures. The architecture of the museum itself is a sight to behold. I particularly enjoyed the dinosaur exhibit, which was both educational and awe-inspiring. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, enhancing the overall experience. An interesting castle that overlooks the city of Toronto if you go all the way up to the roof or the Norman tower (although it's a narrow staircase, so you'd have to be careful going up or down).
The castle keepers did a good job maintaining the rooms and their decorations with a brief explanation on a board by each room.
There's a parking lot inside the castle outdoor area.
The only thing that was missing was a gift/souvenir shop.

An amazing experience. Plan to take your time and go through the whole Castle. Spent 4.5 hours exploring. Well worth every penny. The Halloween exhibit they will be putting on looks amazing! If you Haven’t been to the castle, I highly Recommend it. Worth every penny.

I had an incredible time exploring this museum! The diversity of exhibits was truly impressive. The sections on Chinese, Roman, and Korean civilizations provided a fascinating journey through history, with well-curated artifacts and informative displays. The collection of bird and animal specimens was a treat for nature enthusiasts, and the replication of dinosaur skeletons were a real highlight, taking me back to the prehistoric world. You can easily spend hours here. Four floors to discover and uncover the depths of millions of years. Interactive displays and informative plaques navigate you through the years of history. They have available to touch, the prehistoric bacteria rock that was formed before oxygen was present in the atmosphere. Excellent way to spend the whole day it was nothing short of incredible.

This wonderful place gives you a great idea how the pioneers and early immigrants live in Toronto area. The Stong family (came to Canada 🇨🇦 from Ireland during the potato famine in 1830-40s) houses, tinsmith, blacksmith, printing shop, physician house, local hotel and brewery are all to be seen in this beautiful place. Tickets cost $18 per adult. Parking is extra. There is a shop to buy some souvenirs.

A very interesting villa, like an European castle. There is an audio guide in several languages that you can easily use and listen to on your own cell phone. If you want to see all the rooms and hear all descriptions, you would have to plan many hours (around 3-4 hours). The rooms are beautifully designed and let you dream. Wonderful view from the Towers and Terrace.
This was a really interesting museum. If you are interested in locomotives and history, it's pretty amazing to think of what this was once used for. Also pretty cool to see the old rail cars and newer ones too. Have to say I appreciated the little gift shop too - prices that were not outrageous. Finally the little train ride was a good attraction too, not costly and seemed to interest kids and adults alike.

We've been here many times but it is still enjoyable. The kids (teenager and beyond) still enjoy the outing. Watching the 'free run' chickens was very enjoyable. They seemed very happy. The Billy goat enjoyed her rake message. The sheep is very friendly. We visited the different houses and the attendant tells a good history, but the barn animals are so alluring.
Historic place; many of the historic facts are connected to the history of the development of this part of the city. The city of Toronto kept the place neat and tidy. There are adjacent trails and Parks nearby that can be explored at the same time.
I’ve lived across the street from this park for over 10 years and it’s a great park. Lots of green space, picnic tables, a little park for kiddos, a brewery, and a couple restaurant options - and a train museum! They run a little train during the summer you can ride around - best way to see the whole park. Steam Whistle has an annual summer and winter beer festival that’s great. I have so many pics to share through my many years so I’ll try to keep it at a minimum:) - It’s my favorite park in the whole city :)

This place is HUGE with something for everyone. I loved all the exhibits on display, lots of information and a lot to look at.
The human era was my favourite, I loved seeing the animals and the way things progressed through time. A lot of the skeletons are real or contain real fossils which is absolutely mind blowing.
We didn’t eat here though the food options looked nice at the cafe.
You are able to leave and come back the same day as many times as you want with your tickets which is great.
I recommend 4 hours minimum if you’re someone who likes to digest what you see. There is a LOT. Loads of cultural historical pieces. It’s honestly like art work at times.
We didn’t interact with staff at all as there was digital scanners for entry.
It’s VERY clean.
Highly recommend.

It was really nice. I went with my camp and we got to go earlier than opening time. It was very fun, we had a tour guide and we got to go inside the trains. We even rode the small train that goes all the way around. It was really exciting. Got to learn a lot obout past trains and can't believe the go train used be like 42 cents, maximum fare $2!!!!
I've loved this area for my entire life. It's an underated oasis, not only for the diverse nature that can be found within it amongst the sounds of urban sprawl in the distance, but also for the history of the Don Valley and of the people who have called it home for centuries. Helen gave a fantastic tour.
A fantastic little museum that is worth a visit! Features exhibits of textile art from around the world and a great selection of interactive craft activities as well as a fabulous library of books to dive into! Spend a rainy day with the kids here having fun and learning new things! Shoutout to the amazingly hospitable volunteer staff too!!
This park has a museum, playground, and a mini train ride. There are water fountains and a few benches.
this is a really good way to spend an hour or so downtown. the tickets for students (with id) are 8 dollars, but I dont think it would be worth it to pay the full ticket price to see the inside since its quite small. there is a train simulator which was really interesting, but the best exhibits are outdoors which is free to see
This historical site dates back to the early 1800s (which, for Toronto, is OLD, because Toronto knocks down historical buildings for condos, and sometimes just for fun). Two cabins from the 19th century are on the property, and a modern Indigenous sculpture installation (I liked it!) was in the garden.
The art gallery on site is free to enter, because it now features mostly art being sold. Having said that, the gallery is large and a pleasure to walk through. Staff are always wonderful: friendly and helpful. Washrooms are immaculate.
So, why not five stars? Because if I was a tourist, especially on a limited budget, I don't think that the time and cost to reach this remote, publicly transit inaccessible destination, is worth it. But like I said, for Toronto, the site has real history.

Great experience. Came on a Wednesday; got a full tour to myself, which lasted around an hour. Had to enter through the back door due to construction.
Tour guide is very knowledgeable and knows a lot about the history of the house. The building itself is original, although the furniture is not. Also received complementary food to taste test, which is specific to Wednesdays.
Admission is $10 per person. Not too bad. Photos and videos were welcome. Quite enjoyed the experience!

I recently visited the museum and was thoroughly impressed by the diverse range of historical collections from various countries. Must visit this beautiful museum. As one of the largest museums in Canada, it truly has a lot to show. We visited the day of the King's Coronation, and the exhibit was free for all guests. The line was definitely worth the wait. The architecture combined with the extensive biological and cultural displays made for a wonderful day trip. Was especially impressed with the crystal collection located on the second floor. Would recommend for families wanting to learn and explore as well as with friends and dates. If you enjoy history, art, and museums in general, this museum is the place to go.

Great place to learn more about the history. When I walked in, it felt like stepping into the Netflix series "Wednesday"!

There was nothing to see in this two-room gallery. Seriously. Nothing to see. And yet it was heavily advertised all around as being some amazing experience. Don't waste your time with the current exhibit (Tumbling in Harness).
The only reason why I gave this two stars instead of one was because it is free and has generous work hours (until 8 PM). It's possible to explore the entire building as well to check out the architecture, which helps make up for the poor art experience.

It is the unique museum. It is an amazing pace. Interesting and wonderful exhibitions. Great spaces with participating in the different master classes.

We visited the museum during the Doors Open Toronto and we were impressed by how organized the event was. We arrived before 11am and there were a few people ahead of us, so we didn’t wait so much to get in.
The house and furnitures were beautiful and well-maintained. Be mindful not to touch or sit on them since they’re rather old.
There was also an art exhibition that we enjoyed while walking around the house.

Such an amazing museum. Not expensive. Always has new exhibits on that are fabulous. Realllllly friendly staff who are happy to give you more details AND if you like to learn hands on or love crafts there are always a million options. You can learn to weave or sew or collage with fabric. It’s so much fun! Great spot to go with a girlfriend, chat and craft. (After you look at all the amazing pieces in the museum for inspiration!)

A small museum. The displays are not much and 30-45minutes is enough to walk through it. The most interesting item is the train demo. Admission is $10 for adult and I think it is a bit expensive in terms of the display volume and exhibit area size.
The textile art exhibit was interesting at the Campbell House Museum during my visit, certainly worth a peek during the Toronto open doors weekend event. It was also interesting to learn that the house was not built there but it was moved from another area of Toronto.

A chance encounter while visiting the city. An outdoor heritage museum that showcases some charming trains through the ages. A lovely outdoor display opposite the Rogers Stadium. A nice walk through the town that allows you to learn the history of each of them. The old station has been converted into a few popular restaurants and bars, which is quite lovely to catch a break, if you will. Otherwise, continue walking through the museum and be transported back in time.
I love the place. If you are up to engines I think it's a must to visit this place where you can have a look of the different trains in the past. I recommend to try the Biergarten Restaurant in the place.
Excellent place for kids . I've been here twice, and both times have been amazing. Very friendly staff, efficient service. Nearby food truck Food was great.
Also a fun stop for grabbing a beer. Their tour is interesting. If you go, pull the whistle cord!

I enjoyed visiting this museum. There are collection of textiles from different parts of the world: China, Pakistan, Afghanistan, India, Mexico, Canada, Philippine, Ukraine. There are weaving loom that you can enjoy using it. Very friendly and nice staff of the museum teach you how to use it. The library is one of a kind. Different sort of unique books related to fabric, lace, rugs, knitting, embroidery… are collected. I loved the book that has information about fabulous Persian Rugs. In the third floor there is a “refuse” collection that some talented artists converted waste to beauty items. You should definitely go and visit it. I liked it
The museum hosted a Titanic Tea and Book event for Titanic 111 anniversary of its sink. The setting is gorgeous and the story telling is attractive. Wonderful! I am glad to join this museum event.
I was given incorrect information about the hours twice.
First time, I was told it's open till 8 pm on Wed.
I came on Wed. Google was showing the museum as open, but it was closed.
This time, I was told it was just closed for an event.
It turned out it was closed until May 3rd because of change of installations.
Horrible user experience. The admits should add hours on the ad banner and update google information when they have changes.

I like to walk in this area that is close to my house. We generally go there to take pictures of birds. There are a few trails and 2 or 3 ponds. It's a great place to walk and be in contact with the nature.
First of all, we had an amazing tour of the building and what a fascinating story this building plays in the story of Toronto. Visitors and locals alike should take the chance to visit this location. It is a tiny gem that can be enjoyed in a number of ways - as newbies and tourists in Toronto - it was just such an interesting experience to learn about how the house moved to it's new spot Interesting interior!

Nice open park area in the centre of the city. Located right near some other major attractions like Ripley’s Aquarium, CN Tower, Convention Centre, Rogers Stadium and more. There are a bunch of old train cars, engines and a caboose on site that are great to tour, photograph and just generally explore in the park. Fun spot for kids to visit.
Couldn't go inside as it was closed and it was really late in the evening but the view from outside is equally good. You can get some amazing photos with backdrop of this 18th century house.
Passed by here on a Friday early afternoon (Dec 9, 2022). Currently it's be pay-what-you-can until December 23 to accommodate holiday programming and private events. Usually admission is $10 for adults, half price for youth and seniors, free for 12 and younger. Highly recommend a visit. The staff gave a really detailed tour of the house, its history and other fun tidbits. I had visited during open door events prior to the pandemic and the tour then was a lot less detailed because of the crowd. I'll definitely be on the look out next Christmas for tickets to a Christmas Carol at the museum next year.
Visited the site in early October, 2022. A great (and free!) site/museum to learn about a neat, hidden piece of Toronto's history! This is a place that so many people pass by unknowingly on the DVP, so it's great to get to know the site and its impacts on the city's development. I especially liked stepping into the homes. They were very well preserved and have very cool artefacts/replicas, such as antique cash, TTC transfers, and what bathtubs (if you could call it so) used to look like. The grounds are also quite nice for a walk; you could take a short loop around the museum. I even spotted a blue heron! Would encourage more people to come and visit. Plus, you could walk from here to/from Evergreen Brick Works to make it a longer outing.
Beautiful Georgian home right in the heart of downtown Toronto, a real look into the past. Our tour guide was fantastic, would go back again, they host really interesting and unique events!
I visited specifically for the exhibition Drift: Art and Dark Matter. It was excellent. The immersion of art in science that these artists expressed was so impressive. Take some time away from the university streets and just rest and intake something quiet.
Small gallery but it’s free and still nice! And there’s another one close by in the university.
We visited for a tree-focused tour of the Wildflower reserve, led by conservationist Steve Smith. Fascinating to see the space through the eyes of the folks who built it, plant by plant by plant. The paths (out the South end of the parking areas) are worth the stroll for the birds and native bio diversity on view, even without the guide!

Outside, there were brand new info plaques that even had a few audio nuggets to drop... Very cool!

The Justina M. Barnicke is a continuation of University of Toronto's Art Museum. The gallery showcases mainly contemporary art from both local and international artists. Featured exhibits rotate about every six weeks. The gallery is just two rooms, but is only steps away from the larger half of the gallery, the University of Toronto Art Centre .

It's a small gallery but definitely worth a visit. Would be nice if the staff were a bit more welcoming, but i take it they don't get many visitors
