We visited this theater with pleasure and got maximum pleasure from attending the musical performance.

Imposing Opera House over looking large landscapes and piazzas. The Bayerisches Staatsballet production of La Bayadera by Ludwig Minkus was delightful. Dancing by Jinhao Zhang and Laurretta Summerscales, also Shale Wagman as Idolo Dorato, all inspired. Music conducted supremely by Kevin Rhodes was an utter delight. Comfortable seat - certainly not the most expensive, had good acoustics. Pre order online a drink and nibble for the interval and you are sitting in an elegant room on the second floor. Online ticket purchase and seat selection was so easy.

I have toured many opera houses in my travels. This was wasn't as I had hoped. I bought my ticket online and made use of the audio guide on my phone. It was easy to get started. However, after 2 stops I lost service so had to read the digital paragraphs instead of getting audio. It came back towards the end. Some rooms were very nice but the theatre itself wasn't that impressive. Grateful for the human guides along the way as a few times I got turned around and they assisted me beautifully. I suggest to only do if you have time. It took me under 1 hr.

Teatro Lope de Vega is a true treasure nestled in the vibrant heart of Gran Vía in Madrid. My recent visit to this iconic theater to watch "The Lion King" was magical. Despite not being a frequent theater-goer, I was utterly swept away by the immersive experience that this venue and production offered.

Teatro Lope de Vega's grandeur is matched only by its surroundings' beauty. Gran Vía, with its bustling energy and stunning architecture, provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of theatrical delight. The weather on that particular day was sublime, enchanting the entire experience.

From the moment I stepped into the theater, excitement and anticipation greeted me. The staff was accommodating, ensuring every guest felt welcomed and comfortable. Their attentiveness enhanced the overall experience and contributed to feeling cared for.

I was utterly captivated as the curtains rose and "The Lion King" began. The production was spectacular, with breathtaking performances, stunning visuals, and unforgettable music. Despite my initial reservations about attending the theater, I was utterly engrossed in the story, swept away by the magic unfolding before me.

Teatro Lope de Vega and "The Lion King" exceeded my expectations, leaving me with memories I will cherish for years to come. Whether you're a seasoned theater enthusiast or a newcomer like myself, this experience is not to be missed. I can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return for another unforgettable performance.

It was nice but if you don’t have much time in Madrid you can definitely skip it.

As an opera fan I had big expectations and been looking forward to the guided visit in English. It was really terrible. Our guide could hardly speak English, spoke very quietly and he it wasn't interesting at all. I almost fainted when he was informing us about the displays of sandwiches "here you can read what to eat and buy in the interval".
There was no "behind the scene" in the tour. Mostly visits in all the rooms where food and drinks are served. They are beautiful and grand but the guide didn't have the ability to tell a good story.

It also surprised me that the opera salon itself was quite plain and not at all as grand as I had expected. No decorations of interest.

We left before the tour was finished - it was really a great waste of time.

Saw a wonderful production of Swan Lake by the Kiev Ballet. The prima ballerina (Odette/Odile) was absolutely sublime, although all the dancers, and the choreography, were wonderful.

VISIBILITY!!!!!
OJO! ATTENTION PEOPLE, if you are going to purchase a seat that is marked 'REDUCED VISIBILITY' it is very lightly that there is no visibility! I purchased 2 seats for 'Rigeletto)' December 2023 that was marked reduced visability. When we took our seats, to my 'horror' I realised that we had no view of the stage. Non what so ever. The top of the curtains was our view and to add to misery my view if the the screen from the opposite side of the Teatro was blocked by the spotlights! We left the theatre because there was no point in staying in darkness.
On writing to the theatre to complain they replied that they have notified clients that some seats had reduced visability but also mean NO visibility!!! Is this lawful? Or honest to your clients? 118€ each for seats that has 'NO VISIBILITY'. By writing a few lines of disclaimer makes it ok?to take money from clients to SEE an opera performed on stage knowing that there is 'NO VISIBILITY' in certain seats.
I purchased the tickets assuming that such a theatre (REAL) would not have sold me seats without visibility.
I am complaining here not because I want the refund but for the Teatro Real to reconsider there policy of selling seats without visibility of the stage and scenery to the public.

A very Dissatisfied Client

I decided to buy cheaper tickets in case we wouldn't like it or my 6y old would be bored with it, after seeing it I really plan to return with tickets closer to the stage. Before going I also read some comments in which people complaint that it wasn't as "nice" or "impressive" as the Broadway version... I haven't seen it on Broadway but luckily for me was very impressive, the cast, the scenery are just amazing. There are no words, I enjoyed just as much as my daughter who kept saying at the end over and over "I liked it so much, it was so nice!"

Just saw Rigoletto. It was amazing. I really enjoyed it. I was worried I wouldn't understand anything but the gave subtitles in Spanish and English - it helped alot and the performance was wonderful.

It's a nice theater with pretty good seats. The lobby is very small, so late arrivals can be easily heard from the auditorium. It seems that most seats have a good view of the stage.

The show was one of the most incredible displays of theatre we have ever seen. The Spanish opera was a true delight. We were thrilled that they had English subtitles on the screen, along with Spanish. The more advanced, for purchase, program had an English synopsis of the opera. The theatre is incredible, beautiful, and plush red velvet and gold throughout the space. Our box seats were only 50€. The singing was excellent and the acting was awesome. The live orchestra was a delight and the choreography was modern and amazing. The opera felt new and fresh, despite being an old storyline. This is because of the great work of the choreographer, the set designer, and the director.

First time seeing a show like this. It was well done and the crowd reactions were amazing. Seats are a little tight but very nice.

The concert has been great, they are embarrassing, the space is very small and it is a bit abandoned, it is very sad.

We went to see the ballet of Swan Lake and also The Lion King. The theater is very big, you can get a good view from almost any seat. The Lion King was an absolute jaw dropper. Such a marvelous production! People of all ages were there and they should be, it’s a definite must watch. The reason I don’t give a 5-star review is that I didn’t find the establishment very accessible. There are lots of stairs to go upstairs and the gap between the seats are kind of tight.

We attended the theater to watch L'Orfeo. That is a beautiful work with a great message of loss, love, and living. The venue is beautiful and regal. The seating area has a grand chandelier hovering over the audience. The theater seats were comfortable and enough for a big guy like myself. The balconies are gilded and beautifully detailed. The royal box balcony is front and center. It's majestic quality makes for a perfectly romantic and exquisite night out. You can reserve a table to sit during intermission in a gorgeous room with spectacular paintings of the royal family. The venue is accessible to those with wheelchair use. The taxi hub is conveniently located behind the theater. I purchased the tickets online and felt the process was easy and convenient. The problem is here: I purchased the tickets based on its recommendation of best seats at the time. When we took our seats, we noticed jumbo screens placed around the theater for patrons to watch. Unfortunately, even though we purchased front row balcony seats to the left of the stage, we could not see the theater actors. We relied on the screens to see what was going on below us, which was a huge disappointment. If we wanted to view the stage actors, we had to lean over the balcony. The people behind us had to stand to catch a glimpse over us. That was the case all around the theater. Unless you purchase seats that are directly facing the theater stage, straight on, and within the middle third, you will not have a visible position. The jumbo screens show video but they do not capture the essence or the detail that the human eye can capture from the seats. I spent 80% of the time reclined in my seat, watching the screens and wishing the theater had disclosed the limited visibility when tickets were being purchased. I would recommend this venue, but be conscious of the limited visibility issue when purchasing tickets. It's better to buy the less expensive tickets up high that are centrally located than the closer, side balcony seats.

Fantastic performance, very well done. (Its all in Spanish). Worth seeing! If you are seated below and don't have mid-view (middle seats), take seats by the aisles. Theatre itself is beautiful. 20min break allows for popcorn or chocolates and drinks, as well as purchasing some merchandise.

beautiful “caja italiana” theater, perfect for dance, opera and concerts. We just saw a fantastic dance choreography (Schostakovich) everything was perfect!
Little tip, if you are “familia numerosa” tickets are half price…

The theater is gorgeous, and the performance was an incredible experience. The singers were phenomenal singers. But additionally they were wonderful actors. This is not always the case in the opera world. The costumes were colorful and detailed.

It is a perfect theatre venue to watch zarzuela, opera… The prices of the highest places are low but of course one should know that the visuality is by half reduced. But the zarzuela was excellent, truly beautiful….

5 starts for the show, 4 for the theatre. Clean and spacious, they should manage better both entrance and exit rules to avoid high concentration of people.

Brilliant play, 'My old friend Cicero' with superb actor, José María Pau. Less spaced apart than in other theatres, although a constant current of air was noticeable.

Alternative space in the heart of the La Latina neighborhood, weekend activities, music and sports, outdoor films screening in the summer.

It is a nice theater with good facilities.There are a variety of performances.The prices are not too expensive for the quality of shows.I was here to watch the Swan's lake by Russian ballet.I recommend this performance,it is really lovely!

Pude disfrutar de un maravilloso concierto de tangos y el ambiente que se creó fue muy bonito, lugar tranquilo pero intenso, buenas bebidas, un rincón perfecto para descansar del jaleo de la noche pero cerca de él por si se quiere seguir ;)

Sitio acogedor, escenario pequeño pero bien elevado y bien pensado, pequeñas actuaciones en vivo.... Propio piano Clavinova suyo. Un lugar realmente acogedor! Todo maravilloso, original ,especial en el centro de Madrid. Ahora : las bebidas que ofrecen no me gustan nada. Y los baños nunca estan limpios, es un par de detalles por los que no doy 5 estrellas.

Uno de los más antiguos "Café Concert" de Madrid. Tiene una programación de gran calidad y variedad, música en directo, teatro, performance. El ambiente es variopinto, a veces tranquilo, relajado, otras el diablo de la noche mueve la cola y...bueno si vienes el precio está por debajo del de las terracitas...

Classic and beautiful theater. Good sound. Good view from the second floor. Seat comfortable but not to much place for the legs. At the end of the show its very hot in the room but ok. I recommend.

I've only seen one show at Teatro La Latina, The Hole 2 in 2014. By far one of the best burlesque cabarets I have ever seen. (And I speak from experience....) The acts were incredible; displaying acrobatics, dances, magic, circus acts, and comedic monologues. The light technician, design, and stage mechanics were eye popping and spectacular. Fun, exhiliarting, has dinner and a bar.

Fenomenal bar ubicado en la latina, en donde podrás disfrutar de una copa con amigos a muy buen precio o disfrutando de un monólogo más consumición. La atención es de lo mejor, los camareros casi parecen colegas de los clientes lo cual hace que repitas. El espacio es muy reducido pero mejor por que lo hace más acogedor, sitio ideal a mi parecer :).
