Teatro de la Zarzuela

A very old, very beautiful theatre. Great plays, dance and zarzuela.

The show was one of the most incredible displays of theatre we have ever seen. The Spanish opera was a true delight. We were thrilled that they had English subtitles on the screen, along with Spanish. The more advanced, for purchase, program had an English synopsis of the opera. The theatre is incredible, beautiful, and plush red velvet and gold throughout the space. Our box seats were only 50€. The singing was excellent and the acting was awesome. The live orchestra was a delight and the choreography was modern and amazing. The opera felt new and fresh, despite being an old storyline. This is because of the great work of the choreographer, the set designer, and the director.

One of the best places to visit and to watch the ballet national in Madrid!

DO NOT BUY TICKETS IN THE STALLS BACK ROW
waste of 40 euros.
You cannot see anything!
Really that should be classed as standing only. Not shown as seats.
Complete waste of money.
Shocking.
Also there were stalls unoccupied near. But the unfriendly usher who stuck to the rules for no reason other than rules.
Did not let us move.
Even though it was the same price range.

The bar was not even open for the one evening performance.
I have given this theatre a terrible one star even though the Google algorithm will be hardly affected by this.

beautiful “caja italiana” theater, perfect for dance, opera and concerts. We just saw a fantastic dance choreography (Schostakovich) everything was perfect!
Little tip, if you are “familia numerosa” tickets are half price…

The theater is gorgeous, and the performance was an incredible experience. The singers were phenomenal singers. But additionally they were wonderful actors. This is not always the case in the opera world. The costumes were colorful and detailed.
