Hugo place. Fun, good, very nice place for play soccer with kids.

It was quite a pleasant experience. One of the employees at the front desk was kind enough to let my siblings use the restroom, and afterwards we played at the playground making some new friends. There were summer camps being held, so we didn't stay long, but it was fun while it lasted.

So peaceful and pretty.

Visit the park all the time. Got great easy 4.5 miles hiking trail looping lake Mercer.

A beautiful trail tucked away, I can't believe I never knew about this and I've been in Nova my whole life! I only walked about 2 miles before turning around back to my car but it was a perfect, not too chilly early spring day. You'll drive past a neighborhood for street/circle parking next to the trail head, but once you enter the path it brings you into a different world.
Though you'll find yourself between neighborhoods, all the houses on either side are on a hill. This path cuts between them in a valley with water running next to it and a nice cushion of trees, so you feel a little more isolated than you might in other neighborhood parks.
Straight path, very steady and even except in some places, with some inclines but nothing too steep. Bikes will do fine but people with assistive devices or wheelchairs may have some difficulty in a few spots. There is one part with a narrow bridge over the water, which might get to people with anxiety about that kind of thing, but even if you turn around before it you've still gone through a totally gorgeous walk.
Can't wait to return in multiple seasons to see what views this place has to offer, and I'm also looking forward to checking out different points along this trail, or maybe someday walking it in entirety.

This is an excellent trail for walking along the water and relaxing. There's plenty of tree cover. This is one of my favorite trails in Northern Virginia.

Not good for bikes. Trail hasn't been paved for probably ten years. Would be better if it was just packed gravel.

Great place to stop for my kids to burn some energy for a bit. The trees are beautiful!

Took my 14 year old and my 2 year old niece and both had a great time. So much to explore. Very hands on!

PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS PLACE "DOES NOT" HAVE LIGHTS AND IS THEREFORE UNSAFE AT NIGHT. PEOPLE TRIED TO ROB/MURDER ME HERE
Google Maps led me through here at 7:25pm as I had to bike to East Longmeadow. The path has no lights along the entire walkway yet there is no closed signs or set times of operation. The trail eventually leads to a fork near Liberty St if you take a left, not sure where it leads when you are straight. If I didn't use my flashlight on my phone to navigate on my bike I would not have been able to escape the people who tried to rob me, there is not enough light to make out an exit (I had to follow the headlights from cars near the underside of the highway with my flashlight on.) The path is a fair distance away from the main street, right at the fork a man with a dog proceeded to chase me ordering me to stop, I took off on my bike but the chase lasted a very long 45 seconds. The road was so distant from this point that I would have been killed without witnesses if I wasn't fast enough. Also, leaving the trail, right after the railroad crossing spits you right out under the highway which happened to have a lot of traffic this day. I flew into the right lane fleeing these people are was almost hit by a car. PLEASE BE ADVISED THIS PLACE "DOES NOT" HAVE LIGHTS AND IS THEREFORE UNSAFE AT NIGHT. PEOPLE TRIED TO ROB/MURDER ME HERE

Excellent ball fields, good playground for kids maybe 10 and under. There's a dog park I haven't used. Lots of paved trails in the woods, but some of them are rough, maybe not fit for a road bike.

Not worth the $30. Okay for a one time thing with a 4-7 year old. Not much to do unless you want to spend 2 hours building legos. There is a 4 D movie that’s really cool. The decor is nice and everything is clean. Staff is really nice too. There is one little cute ride where you laser off the bubbles, stars, etc. and one laser maze.

First, to mention, as per the signs, your children are not supposed to climb on any of the statues.
I'm thrilled to tell you that the Dr. Seuss Museum is free! I had the best time exploring the museum without waiting in any lines. Although some rooms were more crowded than others, I had a blast checking out all the fantastic activities available for kids and adults. While the museum has a lot of information and pictures, it's filled with many whimsical statues that made me smile. Overall, it was an incredibly joyful experience that I'll never forget! The guides were beneficial and informative. (Except the one guide upstairs who tried to hit on my sister 😤)
Upstairs, there is a room displaying Dr. Seuss's family tree. Photography and videography are strictly prohibited in this room due to the absence of copyrights. However, you are free to capture images and videos in all other rooms.
Lastly. YOUR KIDS ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO CLIMB OR PLAY ON THE STATUES AS PER THE SIGNS!

Very well done, the guides are super knowledgeable and it's clear that they love their jobs. Lots of great memories of childhood, well documented history.
I marked free because military and veterans are no charge! This is for all five museums there.

If you loved reading Dr. Seuss books as a kid, you'll love this place, no matter your age. Fun for everyone, beautiful and easy to navigate. Two levels of exhibits that make you feel like you're inside one of your favorite stories! A must see in Springfield.

Took my kids to the center this weekend. They loved it. First, make sure you buy your tickets online and choose the time frame when you would like to get there! By the time we went to the Lego Discovery center, they had the sign "sold out for the day" up. The place is small but with plenty of activities for the kids. They have a space for the five years old and under and for the 6 and above. There is a small playground, a food court, and several stations with Legos. They also have impressive, already built structures with Legos that are worth walking through. In addition, they have a workshop where kids can go in and learn how to build a structure. My 4 year old enjoyed putting together a T-Rex! And they have a cinema where they show the Lego movie. The center is located inside Springfield mall, and the parking on a Sunday was a little hectic.

I went to the first adults night at the Lego discover center Washington DC! And it was a bless! I love Lego and just be there, feeling the energy and sharing joy, was so Amazing. At the end the event we had a raffles tickets and I won a Lego friends! So happy 😁 definitely I’ll come back for the next adult night at Lego discover center Washington DC!

It was neat and clean. I honestly feel like the $170 I spent for 4 people was too much. We requested the small yellow bags to put Legos in, and one crew member kind of complained about it. I didn't believe I was asking for much considering the money I spent. It was a little chaotic. I don't understand why they request a time online when you still have to wait in line to enter when you arrive. When anyone can come and go, the time has no purpose. Overall, I like the theater and the fact that Starbucks coffee was available to purchase and other items like cookies, chips and burgers. I was a huge fan of the DC Legos. Because my kids have visited downtown: the monument, capital and White House. So they were impressed on the Lego’s looking just like it. Overall not really considering going back.

Fabulous tourist destination in a lovely European-style square setting - both this museum and the surrounding city are well worth a visit. My daughter is nine, and we both enjoyed the statues and the exhibits inside the museum (the information about young "Ted's" life is particularly fascinating!).

Fun and interesting. The kid's fun areas are downstairs, with rooms decorated with images and colors of his books. There are some things for small hands to do. The memorabia from the life of Theodore Seuss and history is mainly upstairs. Includes some of his correspondence, he had a great sense of humor and irony. As someone who read Dr Seuss to my kids, I loved it.

If you have kids, just go it’s great. Lots of photo opportunities, things to keep them occupied for an hour. Great to pair with the history museum.

The park is in a shaded area which was nice, and the equipment was in good shape. Definitely needs extensive ground maintenance.

Neat place and really glad to have this in our area. We will definitely be back and already bought our annual passes. One caveat, I'm not sure it would be a strong recommendation for a family only here to visit DC. It's a bit of a hike out to the Mall from DC and probably only a half day activity. However if you are really into Lego it's probably a good choice.
Update: Just want to add that the staff here is phenomenal. We also had zero issues using our annual passes to enter on a follow-up visit.

The newest attraction to the NOVA area just recently opened. LEGO Discovery Center Washington, DC has a new home at the Springfield Mall. This event isn’t to be missed, for kids (and adults) of all ages. After checking in at the front desk (Pro Tip: buy tickets in advance, same day tickets tend to sell out) your given the opportunity to make your own Lego characters. After making your personalized Lego, you can take a Lego picture and immortalize it with a QR Code that you can access your pictures from home. Upon entering you’re confronted with a vast array of Lego activities that you or your kiddos can do. All activities are interactive and for builders of all levels. There are areas for the small kiddos with Lego their size and rides for them in a 1-5 age group. There is a cafe with snacks (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks) all responsibly priced. The fun is non-stop and your time in the Discovery is totally at your own pace. After exiting the Discovery center, you are in the Lego store with Lego projects for purchase. I would give yourself at least 2-3 hours for the full experience. Enjoy, and pack your patience since it’s very kid friendly, and kids are wall to wall/floor to ceiling. I would rate it 11 out of 10, would do this again. Enjoy!

Great big fields, clean with a play area for the kiddies and also metal bleachers was a plus! Although parking is definitely an issue.. I walked through with sandals and made it back to my car with no scratches on my feet. If that tells you how easy the path was ...

A Lego wonderland. My twin boys (3 yrs old) had the most wonderful time and didn’t want to leave! So many things to do and experience, for all ages. Interactive and engaging Lego stations throughout the place. 4D cinema and Space Cadet zone highly recommended. Buy tickets well in advance.

Was a lovely area to walk around. Not a super long path, but nice anyway.

Clean, wonderful walking path for beginners, and easy access to the river. Easy to find less swift areas of water for younger kids to play in and explore. This is also great for biking!

As an educator, I enjoyed learning about the man who we honor for a week every March. I read a lot of interesting facts about Dr. Seuss. There was also a security guard there who voluntarily guided me around and told me so many fun facts about Dr. Seuss. He was very knowledgable. Look for Paul if you decide to visit! I typically associate Dr. Seuss almost like being another character in a book, because we hear about him often but seldom see him. The museum brings Dr. Seuss to life. Kids would have a blast here. Adults with no interest or connection to Dr. Seuss won’t.

Love to ride my bike out to this destination. A great paved path, frisbee golf course on the way, gravel paths all along the river. Beautiful River

Lots of interesting information and history.

What an awesome trail! Wish I had had more time to explore it.
Had some time to kill before an appointment so, looked for a trail to walk. This one was great! Wide, next to a creek, and I love that it was nestled behind neighborhoods. The locals can easily access, but far enough away to keep lookey loos from being nosey. I wish I had had more time to enjoy the trail. I wish I lived in a neighborhood with a trail like this nearby.

There are public restrooms, an air frisbee thingy I have no idea what is called but you throw a disc from a certain point into a basket that's up in the air on a pole; from what I gather anyways... There is a nice trail that leads to Mill race path, or Dorris ranch, either direction is a very scenic view with either a river, or a pond next to you.; I even saw two people on horses while I was on the trails!

The Connecticut Riverwalk and Bikeway in Springfield, Massachusetts is a wonderful destination for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty of the area. The trail stretches for over 3 miles along the banks of the Connecticut River, offering stunning views of the water and the surrounding landscape.
One of the highlights of the trail is the bike path, which is well-maintained and provides a smooth ride for cyclists of all levels. The path is also wide enough to accommodate pedestrians, joggers, and rollerbladers, making it a great place to enjoy a variety of outdoor activities.
The Connecticut Riverwalk and Bikeway is also home to a number of interesting sights and attractions, including the Basketball Hall of Fame and the Springfield Armory National Historic Site. There are also several parks and picnic areas along the trail, making it easy to take a break and enjoy a scenic lunch or snack.

Absolutely beautiful park. Lots of trails and places to fish. Great photo opportunities too!

This is the best running trail in Fairfax and probably on the east coast. Scenic all the way with Pohick creek along the length of the whole trail

Small neighborhood park with swings, playground, basketball court, picnic tables and grills, tennis court, and walking trails. Very shaded and cool. Hidden away so we almost always have it to ourselves.

Had a blast at the Puerto Rican festival🇵🇷 !! Music was great and everyone young and old had fun!! Can't wait till next year. Great park overall, water area for the kids and nice views of the river and bridge. Love our little memorial for 9/11. My only complaint is the entrance. Need a better way for those with mobility issues to get their. Stairs are hard and the long walk to get in is a pain.

Great place to practice the art of futbol during the week. My only gripe with is that the paths to the field itself could be better paved.

Nice place to access the river. Nice boat ramp. Hiking trails are well kept and provide nice views alongside the riverbanks. This main trail also ties into the end of the Dorris Ranch trail if you do just a little bushwacking at the very end.

This place is in my hometown. I come here often by myself to sit by the water, meditate, absorb some good sunlight to rejuvenate and recuperate . Great for a good nature walk and bike ride.

A great little piece of nature tucked away in the suburbs! *Note, the park is locally called "Hidden Pond Park"- I recommend searching for the Hidden Pond Nature Center when going so you can park right there, as searching "Pohick Creek Stream Valley Park" will take you to residential areas with trail access, so you'd have to park by people's houses.
Trails are mostly dirt except around the nature center, predominantly shaded, and pretty easy to follow colored markings on trees (though there was one spot around where Green/Blue meet that tripped me up). My only real concern is that the part of the Green trail that follows the river is severely overgrown, including a LOT of thorny vegetation at both dog and human face height. Otherwise, lots of interconnected loops so you can make your trip as long or short as you need, with few blind corners to worry about running into bicyclists, and several spots to hang out by the water!

Loved the tall shade trees, but playground is unmaintained. Mulch in the playground area is years-old with holes that fill with water. Basketball courts have slick residue that we slid on in sneakers. Would be a perfect playground if the county kept it up.

Clearwater park is one of my favorites in Springfield. It's a short distance from Main St., but once you're there, it's quiet & serene. There's a frisbee disc course, bathrooms, paved trail for walkers, bicyclists; equestrians have their own trail. Trail is shady, comes next to the Willamette Middle fork river, with benches to rest. It's about 4 miles to Dorris Ranch parking lot, with slight upgrade near the end. I like 1 of sayings on a bench-something like, 'I get lost in the woods to lose my mind & find my soul.'
Then there's the landing (2 actually) a few minutes drive pass the 1st parking lot. Landing has a couple of lots with bathrooms & hanging life jackets; 4 picnic tables.
Pros: flat paved trail except near Dorris Ranch, shady, quiet, birds; multi-use trail, frisbee disc course, boat landings nearby, bathrooms, next to river. Cons: flat trail if you like hilly.
p.s. There's a small, shallow creek under the bridge to old landing where kids play & float in summer.

Great park with nice playground, basketball court, and picnic tables with grill. All of it completely in the shade.

Parking situation is awful. It's a total nightmare for whoever lives on that street. The basketball court has absolutely no shade and is unbearable to play on in the summer.

Best way to get from Great Falls to Occoquan. If you're walking/ cycling that is... 45 miles thru the heart of Fairfax. Other than section thru Fairfax City all forested and mostly follows creeks

This place is a great place to share with family and friends. The information here about slaves and the some history about Springfield ma is very educational.

Amazingly well prepared with artificial grass soccer field. field is behind the Toyota dealership to get to the park, take the road between Hyundai and Toyota dealerships and turn left at the end of the road to get to the parking lot. No seating area everyone has to bring own seat. My son enjoyed his game time. Thank you SYC to let us know this location.

Beautiful day to take the grandkids to the park! Clean area, has slides, swings, and things to climb on. Basketball hoops/nets are back on too.

Great walking trail loop around Mercer Lake (about 4 mi), with steady medium slopes with nice long flat portions in between. Very tranquil and peaceful.

Great park, right outside of the South Run rec center. Has a little kid and big kid playground and plenty to run the kids out of gas for an hour or so! Be advised though, that big kid part is BIG! Easily 12+ feet, which is pretty awesome for climbing.

Tiny park. Had a basketball court, grills, benches, small walking path, and a nice playground for smaller kids. There's also a decent sized field to kick/throw a ball around.

Kinda cool to visit given the timeframe and if exploring culverts and tunnels are your thing - which is my thing to do.
It's in excellent condition. Just wear the appropriate boots to walk through the culvert.
BTW - It's a culvert - not a tunnel.

Nice quiet place. Not too much traffic of cars.

The directions were to a court for townhomes and the parking spaces were all reserved. And I couldn’t see any trail leading to the park.
If you continued down the entrance+parking for the park was clearly marked.

Moderate usage from nature clean park crisscrossing local residents juggling and walking patriant

Go to nature, you'll find your bliss.

So close to being a 5 star trail, honestly it is. My gripes are that it is a little short, it was not clear how to get to the trail from the train station, and the homeless camp under the bridge was a bit sketchy. Other than those problems this is a really nice trail that appears to be either well maintained, or just really well respected by the community. For the most part the landscape was great and I would go back again.

I come here at least twice a week to walk my dog. We love it! We usually walk to the left past the hall of fame then turn back around to the parking lot. It’s really nice in the summer during sunset. Lots of people and a SAFE place. My only complaint is there are no restrooms.

The view is really nice with the backdrop of the downtown behind. This could be a very good option for family. But its not that clean. Mosquitoes are everywhere as the small bushes of side of the bikeway are not trimmed. Evening time is not so great for family.

Great mini golf spot that is easy to get to with it's central location on the island. The holes are all well kept and it's never really too crowded.dont forget to stop in the Arcade after your round.

Picnic area with tables for families. Basketball courts with some park benches nearby. Paved paths with short walk through the woods, all connected to neighborhood sudewalks. Nicely kept area.

Awsome me and my better half just left we had a great time they are so kind and I learned so much we will be back soon

South Run is your quintessential northern VA park, with a few wonderful extras thrown in. Baseball, softball, soccer fields, tennis, basketball courts, then a Rec center with a pool, indoor courts and rooms. But it also has an adventure center with a ropes course kind of thing and a field house. Not to mention the trails that radiate from it. Parking for the fields can get a little dicy during high use events, but just be patient and calm.

Lovely, peaceful, quiet. Picnic tables, walking trails, swimming, fishing, photo taking, birds singing, clean restrooms, right outside the outskirts of Springfield, what more could anyone ask for? In the winter, like right now, it's beautiful on a crisp, cold, sunny day. The river is high & swift, lots of kayakers & the like, zooming down the rapidly moving water. This park has it going on year around. Oh & the funny little branch sitting hummingbird, was sitting on the same branch, of the same tree, as it was in the summer! I love this park!

The place is tucked away but the field is great. They could use another side way to the fields since there are so many paths cut through the grass it would make sense to keep people on the sidewalk. The artificial grass is nice with the rubber pellets. The ball rolls so much better than natural grass the kids had to get used to it.

Love this spot. It’s a short little loop with great coverage from the hot sun. It was 82F when I went to walk off lunch but the shade from all the trees and light breeze made it feel 10 degrees cooler. This is not for those trying to get a good workout or run (unless you want to do multiple laps of sprints on flat terrain with no change in incline). Its an easy walk in nature for a date, after a meal or to clear some mental constipation. Will be back.

First time visiting this park, and I’ve been in the Alexandria area since 2007. A real shame honestly. Not crowded on a beautiful Friday afternoon. Pup had a lovely time too. Used google maps to get here but don’t recommend. Best place to park is by hidden pond.

Great soccer field with artificial turf. I never knew of this place until we joined the SYC Soccer Accademy. Wish signs were around to guide you to the parking. We got lost the first time trying to get there. Street going to it is between the Toyota dealership and the other dealership next to it. Go straight back, take a left and you'll get to parking. Very little seating, so bring a chair. Only 1 porta potty in case you are wondering.
Wish there were more places like this around the Springfield and Alexandria region.

Confederate built tunnel used for the troops to hide and surprise the union troops as they passed over the railway. Found this info on wiki my boyfriend loves history so this was a cool spot

I love Pohick creek park. Normally have it all to your self because very few people go there. The river is very beautiful to walk next to and their is a good path on one side. There is also a nature center with a pond. The nature center has animals that you can go see and sometimes they have events.

Very cool lil thing, you have to go off trail to get to it tho

If it wasn't for Google I wouldn't have found this hidden gem. Been there multiple times on weekdays and it's never busy. It's a easy walking/running trail. Well kept, clean. I've seen some folks fishing, I highly doubt there is any fish, as it being a shallow stream. No complaints.

Great place to bring your kids to. They have 2 different age group parks. A nice tennis court, basketball, football and soccer field. I like the fact that it was not super packed too. I definitely recommend coming here.

Have been hiking at the park for 45 yrs. Great history great park

Really beautiful Creek that makes you feel like you are in the mountains...certainly not in an urban areas with more traffic than God. Nice rolling terrain...not too steep and not too flat. Not overly used in our area (near 95). Fairfax County Parks have done a great job....we pay for it greatly with taxes and bonds but you won't get this kind of a trail system in a rural county. Many miles of trails to explore....I doubt anyone has done them all.

It's cool, just very hard to get down to. The trails are very steep, we weren't able to get down there

Great court for ballin. Top quality hoops and surrounding ambience full of foliage.

This is the place you take your whole Family's ,Friend and Neighbor to Learn why you are a GREAT BLACK PEOPLE'S!!! This One Black Woman who I love with all my Heart Created this so we would as Jewish People say"NEVER FORGET"!!! THIS IS WHERE YOU LEARN ABOUT THE BLACK HISTORY OF SPRINGFIELD,MA AND THE PART IT PLAY IN THE WORLD OF AFRICAN AMERICANS IN THIS COUNTRY AND THE WORLD!!! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AND SEE THIS PLACE AND LEARN WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE DOING WITH YOUR LIFE!!! HOTEP!✊🛐💝

It has a very nice soccer field and a nice parking lot, tucked behind the Toyota dealership on this part of Springfield. To get to the park, take the road between the two car dealerships and turn left at the end of the road to get to the parking lot.

PAHMUSA is closed until further notice.
In addition, Google My Business doesn't list PAHMUSA's hours correctly.
Also, a sign on one of the museum windows stated it's scheduled reopen was 12/14. Sadly, upon arrival at the museum on 12/18, we discovered it was still closed.
Reports from building employees are that the owner had to relocate and downsize all museum displays into a much smaller place. We need more spaces like this, especially in the state/region. I hope the owner(s) get the support they need to reopen. I did manage to take a few photos of the exhibits that were visible from outside the various museum spaces.
LOCATION: It's not visible from outside and given they've relocated, I hope better signage, inside and out, improves so we all find it.
Parking is metered.
Stay tuned for an update, post re-opening visit.

Very wonderful, definitely clean and well maintained.

Located in Lake Accotink Park. This tunnel is well hidden but easy to find if you know where to look. It's on the right, from the parking lot of the park's visitor center, facing the street. A steep embankment leads to the creek and the tunnel. Once I found, I sat on the rocks and enjoyed the sound of the creek and the birds.

So informative holds children interest worth the time a

What a great stream valley trail. The stream looks like something from the mountains not heavily suburbanized Fairfax County. Just beautiful. Not strenuous and not very populated. Maybe on the weekends there are more but we felt isolated. Lots or connector spurs into the communities. Fairfax needs to be commended for their efforts. Truly a benefit for county residents. Our dogs had a good time too.

Just a quiet place to walk...no frills....no bathrooms or water foutians. Nice place to get some quiet in.

I went down a steep embankment to the left of the Visitor's Center driveway to get to it. Seems odd that they don't have an easier method for accessing the tunnel but if you are able to get down the hill it is worth checking out.

Great for trail running near DC.

Don't get your hopes up too much. It's a utilitarian bridge that goes over a small creek. You'll drive over it if you're driving into the park. You can't tell from the road but it's a pretty good sized stone tunnel and it's possible to walk through it if the water is low or if you've brought boots. I came across it while walking in the woods, that's probably the best way to come across it.

Born and raised in these woods. There are a hidden treasure in what is becoming a massive urban jungle around the DC metro area. There is a beautiful stream and plenty of wildlife (deer, foxes, rabbits, raccoons, possums, to name a few). So much to explore that you will soon forget that you are only a few miles from one of the country's busiest interchanges!

There is no entrance or signage for this park and no public parking. To get to it, you need to park in the Hidden Pond Nature Center and hike one of the trails from there. We spent 30 minutes driving around the whole park looking for an entrance. Seems like a nice place, but we ended up staying on the paved path. There's an average amount of poison ivy.
