Nice and flat walk. Good accessibility. Wide pathways for bikes, prams, wheelchairs etc. Can join onto the Taff trail easily and extend walk.

Great. Pay and display machines are current out of order so no parking enforcement as far as I can tell. Car park is literally just right there on the open green leaving you able to immediately just enjoy the park.

It’s a surprisingly large park given how close to the city centre it is. I had an hour to kill. I didn’t cover all of it. Busy and well used in parts. Quieter in others. Perfect

A fantastic park with plenty to do, great slides!! Beautiful grounds, great for the children to take bikes/scooters. Fields to play football/cricket. Lovely little cafe with home made pizzas or take your own picnic.

Beautiful park to walk around. As a photographer, this is one of my most popular places to photograph couples, graduations and families.
I have noticed that the monument needs to be cleaned, last year was looking better.
An awe-inspiring old building from 1120 with the surrounding graveyard. Inside is similar to many cathedrals but the central "arch" is unusual! Lovely stain glass windows . During our visit the organist was practicing so added to the spiritual feeling of the church.

We chose to take the bus, but it is also walkable by foot as the area is very beautiful. It was Sunday so there was an event there, organ playing as well, very nice. You can also admire the meadows.

Surprisingly larger than you would expect once you are inside. The information within in the castle is more limited but the staff in every room are very helpful and will answer any questions you may have. Do also explore the outer wall which provides an insight into the time or the war.

We didn’t have the time to do the guided tour but having overhead a portion of it I would recommend it as the level of information you will receive is far superior to the information cards available.
Lovely Cathedral to walk around. We did a self guided audio ghost tour around the area which brought more of it alive. It is worth a walk through the cemetry to see nature reclaiming grave stones and the huge trees.
Beautiful garden especially on a sunny day and a great place to sit down and relax with friends and family.

What an amazing performance. Myself and my mother would like to thank candleight and the performers for this evening the beatles are my mothers favourite band. We will definitely be attending another one of these spectacular nights xx highly recommend everyone was so warm and friendly too xx
I did enjoy the visit at the castle but I think it is a bit overpriced if you buy the only ticket for 15.50£.

Beautiful Cathedral. One of the "must see " in Cardiff.
15- 20 m drive from Cardiff Castle or centre.
Car park 1 min walk from cathedral "FREE of charge 2 h" wich is just enough time to visit.
If u are lucky like we got, u can enjoy even the music played at "pipe organ"
We visited here because my friends wanted me to see a map of how Cardiff used to be - so they could show me (and explain) how much Cardiff has changed over the years.

The map is sadly no longer there - instead the museum is filled with interactive installations aimed at children under the age of ten.

Despite being somewhat enamoured with the weight sensitive seal for a few minutes, I didn’t get to see or learn anything about Cardiff’s rich history.

Only positive is that the museum is free.
Visiting Cardiff's National Museum was a delightful experience. The captivating exhibits showcased a rich tapestry of history and culture. The staff's enthusiasm and knowledge added to the charm, making it a must-visit for anyone eager to explore the wonders of Wales.

First visit to the Museum ... Very impressive, lots to see and take in ! ... It's free too ! ... In a few hours only just touched the surface ! ... Will return another day ! ... Well worth a visit when you're in Cardiff ... I went on a cold wet day it was nice and warm
We visited this museum with our toddler and weren't disappointed. It's small but well layed out, with an interesting overview of Cardiff's history. It was child friendly, with some interactive exhibits and some colouring and books downstairs. The staff were friendly and good with our son. It didn't take long to get round but for a free museum (donation optional) we thought it was fab

It’s a nice castle / museum however unsure why they charge approx 15 pounds per person. The open air museum at St Fagans is free of charge and a lot nicer in my opinion.

However if you’re in Cardiff do go see this castle as it is very nice - just a tad overpriced.
Used to go here as a kid, lots of fun and lots to see.

The usual expected facilities are available, cafe/toilets etc.

Souvenir shops at museums are usually very fun and this is no exception.

Great place to bring your kids too.
A great place for kids, both old and young. Whether you want a quick visit, or spend hours here, there is a lot to see and is well worth a visit.
Beautiful cathedral which is just a short drive from the centre of Cardiff. A mixture of old and new with the cathedral itself opening in 1290 AD. Not so keen on the modern sculpture inside though.
The most amazing museum wit passionate curators and very friend staff.
I went to see the art, and I was not disappointed. But hearng the history of the worls by such knowledgeable and passionate people was simply amazing.

Great big place for kids. Creative slides attract children's attention. Everything is prepared on a safe rubber surface.
This is a fantastic museum with a lot of variety. The ground floor includes massive natural history displays that document the geological creation of Wales. They have plenty of areas for all age groups, and the walking path that follows the chronological evolution from protozoa to the dinosaurs to the Wolly Mammoths and the rise of human agriculture is amazingly well done. The first floor has a massive variety of artwork, from classics like Monet and Van Gough to modern day artists. A free museum that offers this much is rare to common across and well worth the visit.
Wow, what a fabulous museum! Absolutely huge with everything you could think of and it was all for free! Lots to discover about dinosaurs and local fossils found, nature and a journey through time from when the universe began, to the present day. Upstairs was a few rooms of art and statues. It is basically a mini National history museum in London. Highly recommend!
Excellent museum, I was most impressed with the Natural History section. Shame I didn't have time to explore all the displays fully. A most elegant building. The shop has lots of choice too and there us a cafe
Lovely little museum, well displayed and designed about the rich stories of Cardiff. Very helpful staff. So interesting to learn about Welch culture and language.
The museum is also educational and gives us the idea of war times. It is not big but it is worth yo see. Sculptures are also so realistic, we ponder how they are made.

It is soooo soooo long and when we visited there were some decos and sounds for Halloween, my mum scared so much so we had to come back without finishing all the way haha. I enjoyed our time there with my family
A must do to any visit to Cardiff, you should definitely join a guided tour to visit rooms which are not open to public outside of those tours

I'm really glad that this museum is free to the public, as I was incredibly disappointed in it. When a museum is dedicated to the city it sits in, I expect it to actually show it off and show it off. Instead, the ground floor has giant displays for protests against American politics and other alt-left viewpoints that have nothing to do with the history of Cardiff itself. Instead of bashing Trump and anyone that doesn't agree with your female curators, maybe strive to have cool exhibits that get tourist to ignore all the issues with Cardiff, like the homeless camp setup on the museum doorstep. Also, the displays are incredibly boring, with chunks of glass slag and teapots offering their view of "Cardiff's history." If you're wanting to see the history of Cardiff, go a few blocks down to the amazing Castle and subsequent museum instead of this politically motivated showboat.

It's a free entry museum. This museum display the history of Cardiff and it has more than 3,000 objects displayed inside. It's kids friendly museum too!
This garden is quite beautiful place to visit in cardiff city. You can take beautiful pictures and enjoy your foods in this place. Protect the environment and don’t through the garbage in this garden.
Although informative the museum gives an impression of skimming over the city's history, and is very small with just a few exhibits from each era the collection covers. Even taking in everything will give you change out of an hour. That said, what they do have is well layed out and accessible.
A visit is worth it for the magnificent tiled corridor, however, which has to be one of the city's "must see" attractions.

Very nice little place with lots of local history, from Roman times to today. I especially enjoyed the chat with the historian there, he was very knowledgeable and gave me a few tips on where to go next. I also loved the dolls house showing decor changes over decades, absolutely gorgeous. And the hidden corridor in the back with the original tiles, stunning! And best of all, entry is free!!
Amazing building within the castle.
Lots of artwork very well preserved.
Worth to visit.
Fantastic exhibits, free fun for the whole family! We were here for hours wandering around the various exhibits. Some exhibits are displayed in cases but many are more interactive so really capture young imaginations and prompt questions and learning. The art gallery has some interesting paintings and sculptures.

A nice park with lots of green space and trees. There’s a nice avenue of trees to walk under and in the springtime there’s blossoms on the trees on the Penhill Road side of the park.

The playground here is excellent, one of the best playgrounds in Cardiff. Also a cafe at the south of the park, Cafe Castan.

All of the pathways are paved, with fairly wide paths, which is helpful for different park users sharing the space. The paths are mostly level, with one uphill section to the northwest in the park which leads out onto Cardiff Road (not excessively steep, but still uphill). Lots of benches around the park.

Llandaf Fields is south of Llandaf Cathedral and its a short walk away, if you cross Western Avenue. It’s also next to Pontcanna Fields. It’s a nice walk into town through Llandaf Fields, Pontcanna Fields and then Bute Park.

There’s parking in the Turnpike Head car park (that’s only a small car park and tends to be busy), there’s more parking if you turn right by Cafe Castan. If those are full, there’s another car park down Fields Park Road. There’s also a bus stop outside on Penhill Road, which serves some of the routes into town.

What a treat this was! We visited Cardiff Castle with my nearly 2 year old and opted to do the House tour as well.

Before the tour began, we took a wander down to the Roman Mural and the Firing Line Museum to pass the time. Then we were directed to the meeting point where the tour started promptly. Our tour guide, Jonas, was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable and detailed in what he told us. His delivery was relaxing with the right level of energy to keep you listening.

The rooms on the house tour were just beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anywhere so ornately decorated! The tour was 50 minutes long which was about the limit for my toddler. Plenty to see but obviously you can’t touch which was testing him a bit. After the tour was over, we let him have a run about on the grounds before heading up to the castle.

There’s quite a few steps to get up and we carried the little one. That part isn’t so bad, despite the steps being steep. However, there are a few more levels you can climb to reach the very top where you can enjoy views of the Cardiff skyline. This part was practically unreachable with the little one. There’s only space for one person to climb up or down to get to the very top so I ventured up alone. My partner said that getting down from second floor of the castle was especially difficult as the stairs were incredibly steep.

The staff were all incredibly pleasant. There were lots of facilities. We did park over by the Principality Stadium on an NCP car park which cost £14.50 for a 2.5 hour stay. However, later in our visit we came across Sophia Gardens car park which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Castle and costs CONSIDERABLY less (£4.10 for the same time period!)

Cardiff corporation asked Bute to use the outer walls as a War Shelters during ww2 and he agreed. Modifications made and a lot of people found protection from the bombs.
Located in Cathays Park in the heart of Cardiff, the Wales National War Memorial is a striking monument dedicated to Welsh soldiers who lost their lives in various conflicts throughout the 20th century. The monument was unveiled in 1928 and has since become an important landmark in the city, as well as a place of remembrance for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

One of the standout features of the memorial is its impressive design. The monument consists of a central cenotaph that is surrounded by a series of carved stone panels depicting scenes from various wars and conflicts. The memorial is made from Portland stone and is adorned with symbolic imagery, including the Welsh dragon and the coat of arms of various Welsh regiments.

The site of the memorial is also well-maintained and offers a peaceful and serene atmosphere for visitors to reflect and pay their respects. The memorial is surrounded by manicured lawns and gardens, and there are plenty of benches where visitors can sit and contemplate.

In addition to its aesthetic qualities, the Wales National War Memorial also serves an important function as a place of remembrance and tribute. The monument is regularly used for official commemorations and remembrance events, and visitors are encouraged to leave flowers or wreaths in honor of fallen soldiers.

Overall, the Wales National War Memorial is a striking and important landmark in the city of Cardiff. It serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Welsh soldiers in various conflicts, and provides a place of reflection and tribute for visitors from all walks of life. If you're ever in Cardiff, I would highly recommend taking the time to visit this impressive monument
Good museum within castle walls. Sufficient kevel of description to keep you interested while setting a reasonable pace to get round it all.
This museum, which is still relatively new, tells the tale of two Welsh regiments. Entry is included with Castle admission, so depending on whether you visit the other attractions included in the ticket, it's either "free" or extremely expensive. There is a fair amount of interactivity, including the opportunity to try on vintage uniforms and, at the time of my visit, some polite and knowledgable staff members had a number of antique firearms on display from their handling collection.

The drawback is that captions are frequently challenging to read (I know light levels are low to preserve artefacts but there are ways to do this). There isn't really much in here, and what there is frequently seems second-class, despite coming from the collections of several illustrious regiments.
A historical place with some amazing architecture which has some symbolic meanings.
Castle Museum,
Very expensive places to visit for family. We paid up £40 to visit museum and Castle but it was not very excited for children. The museum was small but it has many things to visit and more information to let you know about this museum. Castle was very hard for children to see everywhere and my children didn't like it. However for every one to come and visit Cardiff I think should be visit this famous and old place.
Every time we come my youngest son just loves it, infact some of the staff even remember him

Large attractive park with long shaded walks as well as numerous flower beds, topiary trees and hedges. The park has an outdoor aviary filled with a mixture of song birds and a small pond filled with fish. This park is a good walk in any weather and any time of year.
Surprisingly well done wee museum with very knowledgeable and loyal staff. Going in at the start, I was expecting a little museum with lots of information posted on the walls with pictures and maybe a film or two. Instead, we found displays with lots of interesting things and information from the Napoleonic Period up to the present.

They have an incident room with alternating exhibits from weapons, uniforms, instruments, masks, etc. On our visit it was helmets and armour from the early middle ages to present. Very interesting and informative with samples of the different helmets you can hold and try on! I was surprised how heavy the archer’s helmets were in the 1400s and how light the real Pith helmets were. The modern helmets were originally modelled after the archer’s helmet.

There were so many things to see and learn about that we we a bit sad that we saved the Firing Line for last. Probably, it would be better to visit first or after a wee afternoon tea. You can easily view the Roman Wall and huge wood carving at the same time.

I would come here once a year with my grandfather as a kid. Everytime it would be a cold day, but there would still be flowers, still be green grass and still be beautiful every time. So peaceful. Perfect spot to get away without leaving the city centre

Eerie and creepy! My favourite part of the castle visit, would definitely recommend.
Small, compact yet beautiful garden.
Perfect for wedding photography as we saw atleast three different wedding photoshoot with flowers falling from trees etc.
Although this is right behind the city hall there are no restroom near by but yet a perfect place for picnic or to spend a short time with your loved ones.
Grab something to eat with your loved ones and come here for a short lonely break.. You will love it.
Would definitely recommend to visit in this busy technological shopping world.
This was solemn occasion as it was a chance to remember those who have given their lives in conflicts during and after the great war. It was a chance for veterans to pay their respects to those friends and family they have lost.
The Memorial is situated behind City Hall in the Alexandra Gardens. It is a special monument in a beautiful setting especially in the clear Autumn light.
Really gives you an insider's view of war time. Must have been mixed emotions sitting in the shelter hearing the planes above.

Kind of hidden inside the walls, but definitely worth a visit!
Nice garden with a roman arch style at the centre, surrounded by trees and grasses.

Perfect place to calm down and carry on.
