Very good, it's all about the birds, not money.
What an amazing day, thank you for allowing us to share in these magnificent birds lives by being able to adopt and fund a cockatoo thanks to our awesome tour guides Mel and Izzy!
No water yet. Will try again after couple of months. Good hike with signs. Steep yes but not hard. Drop toilets. Ample parking and picnic spots with bbq. Watched 🌅 . Made my day.
Kaarakin is a not for profit cockatoo conservation centre that does great things.

Wonderful experience and very educational. Dedicated volunteers take you on a tour and share their passion for the beautiful cockatoo's and dingo 's. Well worth the drive. Support this foundation if you can or we may lose these birds in the very near future.
It’s much easier while the water is still running, especially on the dogs,I wouldn’t recommend taking them in summer when the water has dried up and the temperature reaches high 30s and low 40s. Unless it’s an early morning walk or evening walk as your pup needs water and love to drink at the top of the falls. I take them regularly out to the bush when the weather is cooler, as my border collies get extremely depressed in this heat as we cannot take them out as much. But all year round this is a good hike. Just if you are bringing an animal you need to think of their needs not only your own.
Beautiful amazing walk but… , MOST UNSAFE PLACE TO PARK CAR IN PERTH, your vehicle will be broken into if park here, no security at all or any sign of doing anything about this issue
A very steep but beautiful trail that leads up to the top of the falls. it’s a gorgeous sight and although there wasn’t much water this time of year the wild flowers made it worth it. All up it took about 45 minutes to walk up and back down. Would definitely recommend for a quick weekend hike
Chris and Alan were my tour guides. I got my first kiss with a dingo here (see photos) and a great cuddle session with an emu bird. I really love these animals, they don't look like they've been from the wild at all! So safe to touch, and they also love you back. Also, this place is far away from my home maybe like 1-2 hours away. It was great that Alan gave me a lift to the train station when my Uber ride cancelled on me. Be prepared to bring physical money - card or cash. The problem is there is not much signal so you can't pay with your phone. This place is worth going to! 5/5 for the hospitality and tamed animals.
What an incredible place! Starting at the car park, one slowly journeys the 600m towards the falls, following the creek. There are a couple of viewing platforms along the way. It's quite steep and rocky at places, but there are plenty of shady spots on the way. Explore the turn offs; they're not necessarily the widest/safest - but the one we took led to a great rocky spot next to a pool with a view of the main falls; an ideal spot to sit and have a drink or snack! We turned around at the second lookout. Will definitely have to return! The flowers, including some amazing orchids are fantastic, as is the wildlife. We were lucky enough to see a western bearded dragon!
A wonderful place where black cockatoos and other bird life are rehabilitated or are permanent residents (as they can't go back to the wild). Also roos including a big red, emu and 3 dingos. The staff and volunteers are great and Brad was so interesting to listen to
Our favourite hike!! So many adventures and different trails and sights to explore. Sunsets are freaking amazing here. Always have a dance at the top of the waterfall. The kids and our doggie absolutely love this place.
This place is kid friendly (I’ve seen range of as young as 3-4 years old) , dog friendly 🐩, and older people friendly. I’ve been here multiple times and it always amazes me every-time I go. I take my time and do the trails. There are multiple trails to choose from. My go to everytime is the blue wren trail that is about 1.3 km and then this links to the start of the 60 foot falls trail or the (orange trail) is about 1.4km . It’s easy to go along with I guarantee you won’t get lost. As there are markings all along the trail paths. The blue wren is nice for bird and insect and flower spotting and the 60 foot falls trail has the views of the beautiful quarry and then the sneak peak many vantage points of the city skyline and finally the waterfalls. Open all year round and opens 6 am to 7pm you can go anytime of the year. We usually park at the first parking lot on the left as you enter and then it connects us to the blue wren trail which loops back to the parking.
Experts don’t need water and snacks but if your going with pets ( I even saw people bring their cats 🐈) there are picnic tables and benches along the trails.
Fair warning there are some spots that have a few steep bits. I always go clockwise. But I notice some people prefer to go anti-clockwise for the falls as the climbing is less and then it’s just downhill after you cross the falls.

Brought my Mum for a tour and our hearts were filled with joy seeing the awesome work that The Kaarakin volunteers do for these amazing endangered birds.
Our guide was so knowledgeable about everything to do with the 3 x Black Cockatoo species and the info that he gave us was spot on.
As well as the Black cockatoos it was wonderful seeing the dingos, emus, kangaroos, finches and other beautiful birds!!
Please donate generously to Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre. Populations of these magnificent birds are dwindling because their roosts and food sources are being cleared at a shocking rate.
They need all the protection and care they can get!!!

I feel so fortunate to be able to drive a relatively short distance to places like Ellis Brook Valley. A wonderful natural bushland and well worth a visit. Remember to bring good walking footwear and water, plenty of spot to have a sit-down and a picnic lunch too. Please follow the instruction and clean your shoes in the stations provided, die-back is a devastating fungus and has caused a lot of damage to our bushland.
