Really loved my visit here. The greenhouses are well maintained and diverse in their content. Most of the information is only in German, but I didn’t find this a problem. There are newly introduced panels putting the history of the botanical garden in the context of colonialism and Imperial Germany. I thought this was fantastic. Tickets are only £2 so it’s very affordable too.

A visit to Sanssouci Palace is a true step back in time. During your visit one can imagine the beauty of the time and the splendor of the period.

We visited in December and one should note this was a summer palace -- there is no heat and this palace was kept as it was originally. The grounds are beautiful and we can only imagine the greater beauty during the warmer months.

Stunning masterpiece! Outstanding rococo architecture, lush and perfectly maintained gardens! The royal interiors, the entire palace complex in general and the lovely detail around it - this is a visit you will remember!

If you're planning to visit this place, I recommend going there in spring or summer, 'cause this is the time when all the plants are blooming. In winter it isn't that stunning.
Kleiner Botanischer Garten. Schön gepflegt. Innen- und Außengelände. Mitarbeiter sehr nett. Leider keine Parkplätze vorhanden.
Eintritt stand Oktober 23: 2 Euro

People probably don’t realise there is this Brandenburg gate as well as the other famous one.
This is in Potsdam and the place in general is very nice to visit. It’s all being rebuilt in the style of the past when it was destroyed. So it feels a little like a Disney set as so new.

The gate itself is nice to look at but nothing to actually do with it.
Brandenburg gate was builded after Prussia beat France. They also put the statue with 4 horses. This statue was taken to Paris after Napoleon beat Prussia. Later, they got it back when the Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo. I visited Brandenburg Gate after fair and it was late. But you feel safe in Berlin even if it’s night. There were only tourist and all the stores were closed.

A must see if you have a half day in hand on your Berlin visit. 1 hour train + bus journey all worthwhile to see this beautiful palace. Excellent public transport available. One can spend a full day exploring all the gardens and surrounding.

It is really awesome. A very big park that proposes the variety of small gardens inside, the large alleys, labyrinths, fountains and statues. Sometimes it lacks some care or cutting but it is comprehensible considering its side. There are a lot of bancs and even with a lot of people you can find the place to stay sole

If your child is there with you,
make sure you get the audio guide for kids. It’a great!
And don’t forget to visit Friedrich the Great’s dogs’ cemetery. He loved Greyhounds!
awesome place, you feel calmness and serenity there, perhaps not on a hot summer day in august on weekends but on a rainy tuesday (when Neues Palais is closed): yes🤛👍. tour inside the castle (with audio guide) is highly!!! recommended. see and feel the glamour of Prussia

The palace and grounds are beautiful, and the self guided tour audio is full of interesting facts and short stories. Try not to go on a hot day, as the interior can heat up quickly.

Postdam is the perfect place to stay when you want to escape from the hutsle and bustle of Berlin. Brandeburger Tor is quiet an historical spot, we came here with a large family, an African festival was on we had quiet a good time. The dance was good and the music on point.

A must see!
Absolutely beautiful and stunning gardens, which are free. You'll have to pay to enter the castle. We only had 2 days in Berlin and were wondering if it was worth it spending our second day here and it did not disappoint.
It's about 40min way from Berlin HBF with RE1.
I didn't see any picnic table but you have many grasslands and benches.
Visited Potsdam whilst staying in Berlin. It's the perfect place to escape the madness of Berlin and enjoy a quieter pace of life.
.
Brandenburg gate Potsdam is the showcase structure within the main square. It's really beautiful and towers the cafes and restaurants that lay around the square.
.
Combine your visit with a walk up to Sanssouci Place through the UNESCO gardens you won't be disappointed.
Missed out on the history part as we had the thunderstorm when our guide was telling about the place :) but loved the vibe of the place. Always something going on, looks more like a Times square of Berlin where always something is going on whether it is some protests or tourists taking pictures
A must-see if you're in Berlin. Less than an hour by train. The palace is stunning but the park itself has so much to offer. There's beautiful scenery everywhere you look and monuments around each bend.

The view from across the road is stunning! You can either sit around the fountain and have coffee and take a stroll on the cobbled streets to window shop. Beautiful spot.

Another beautiful monument in this square.
This Botanical garden is so beautiful. Well taken care of and nice staff. If you are a plant lover, you will like it here. The ticket is 2€, we bought it right there and there was no waiting time.

What a beautiful park! The grounds are extensive and you need several days to walk around to see the real beauty that's here. The buildings are still very beautiful, although need some work, it's still good to see the heritage.
So big that you can walk there for hours. The scale is amazing. The buildings are majestic. The atmosphere is mesmerizing. You should also turn left or right if possible. A Chinese tea house, a greenhouse and other interesting buildings are located here
Sehr schön angelegt!

Really enjoyed my tour of the beautiful palace.
Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather so didn't see as much of the gardens as we would have liked.
We took a picnic lunch which was a good idea. Lots of pleasant places to stop and appreciate the formal gardens.
One day not really enough to see everything.

The park is amazing. It is easy to spend several hours there. It is very serene. The park is essentially a large forest with labyrinthine roads connecting various palaces. There is a botanical garden and tons of statues. Palaces range from very small to the New Palace of more than 200 rooms. Several palaces are open for tours and very much worth it. Single palace tickets are a few Euros, and there is a 22 Euro ticket that includes admission to all palaces in entirety.

I found the Dutch Quarter unexpectedly just walking around the city and was super excited. This is a very beautiful street in Potsdam full of red houses with the white windows. It looks amazing. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants, so it is great to stay for a while here enjoying a cup of coffee or a glass of beer

visited on a rainy day on april, so didnt quite get the nice summer view, didnt think anything special of the place, just its located in the center and has got lots of shops in the streets.
It is situated at a central place, the street through the gate is so beautiful but the gate in itself is just okay to visit. It doesn't have the same grand view when compared to the Brandenburg gate in Berlin

Beautiful and calm quarter in Potsdam centre. The architecture is stunning and completely different from the rest of the city (my Dutch friend claims this is not exactly Dutch architecture despite it was build by Dutch).

There are nice small boutiques, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

Just go there for a walk for the ambience and good mood 🙂

Very nice park with beautiful sightseeing.

Beautiful quarter in Potsdam. The architecture is stunning and completely different from the rest of the areas. Nice small shops and has a street in the middle with some coffee shops / pubs. We went on a Sunday and the city center was mostly empty but the dutch quarter had the most ambience!
