I have lived here for about a year now and have overall greatly enjoyed the experience! I had a few maintenance issues at first, but have no problems now. Any trouble I've had recently has been quickly resolved- special thanks to Eric on the maintenance team for that! The location is perfect as it is right off of USC's campus and the Downtown Columbia area but tucked away so that it's nice and quiet most of the time. I've renewed for another year and would recommend to others!
Keanah in the office is so awesome and an absolute pleasure to work with. Henry holds down the maintenance portion very well and is a skilled professional. Highly recommend this place.

I have been a resident here for a few months. The move-in process was fast and seamless.Michelle was very welcoming and pleasant. I have had a few maintenance issues that was handled quickly and professionally. I love the location and even with it being summer, the complex is still quiet for the most part. Like any complex, there is the issue of people not picking up after their pets or leaving trash outside of the trash compactor but overall it is a very peaceful spot that you don't even realize is so close to the interstate.
I called to check about pricing and availability for the new school year and the leasing agent, Seth, was a great help! He let me know what size apartments were available, how much, and what the differences were between the VIP and regular furnishings. Honestly really good rates for Columbia and how close to campus it is.
My friend lives here and I love her apartment! I was given a tour by Seth and he was super informative, down to earth, and nice! He showed me all of the amenities (which are endless) and anything I could ever need. There’s an awesome pool and dog park. Seth was a professional and amazing help to my apartment needs.

I've been a resident here for a year. This is a fairly quiet complex that is hidden off the main road. It's easy to get anywhere in less than 20-30 minutes, no matter the direction you take. The management is here to help you in anyway, however their hands are tied due to corporate needing to okay changes. The maintenance guys fix and repair what they can in a timely manner but there needs to be groundman to monitor the pool area when the office staff isn't there and keep the grounds tidy & pet stations emptied, etc. The office is well maintained but the complex grounds are trashed by residents who aren't used to taking care of yards and not picking up after their pets. There's only one large compactor dumpster for the entire complex, but corporate says that is normal for the amount of units. The only amenities are the laundry room and swimming pool. There's nothing for the children to do safely to stay out of the way of the speeding cars. People feel as though just because they do something inside their home, they can do the same outside; Wrong!
As with living anywhere, there will be pros and cons. Many of us work hard to provide a safe home for our family. My opinion- The rent is too high to compare it to comps in the area. The apartments are nice but as SC is known for the beautiful places, I would love to call Crestmont one of those beautiful places- but I can't. I try to take care of the area I live in by sweeping my breezeway floor, keeping my balcony tidy, taking care of my garbage, picking up after my pet, watching my child and alerting the office when I see stuff around the complex but again, I'm only one person in a complex of nearly 300 units.
My 5 stars is intended simply for the maintenance staff and maintenance staff only. They are very kind and always willing to help. My AC went out on an 95° day and Eric arrived within an hour to provide a window unit. Not only was he timely, he was extremely kind and actually cares about the wellbeing of the tenants. There was another issue in my building and as I was explaining the situation to the office, Eric was ready to go address the issue and did so within minutes. I see him around the complex and he is always smiling and making sure my unit is to the standard it should be. Cannot say enough great things about Eric and the rest of the maintenance staff!

I have been here almost 10 years. The community itself is pretty decent & quiet which is what I love ! The current property management is much better than the previous one !! Michelle is a great help ! She keeps us aware of good & bad activities on the property. There are some things that I do not like such as the gate & the trash compacter constantly being broken, not enough maintenance men, cable is not included in rent . Overall it's quite pleasant , but it is expensive !

This apartment complex is very good at what they do in providing some of the upmost best customer care in the area. Along with facilities they continue to up keep for use. Ask for Michelle when looking for your next apartment.
I have lived here for a year and it has been one of the best of my life. The River Edge workers are abundantly kind and extremely helpful. I have met both Ellies that work there and they are both fantastic. Ellie H is super kind and always welcomes me when I come in! I live alone so it is very nice to be able to have someone to talk to when I need some human interaction :)
I absolutely love and can't wait to move in. Jayda took me on a tour, and it was absolutely amazing. The amenities are awesome. The office staff are awesome. As soon as I walked through the office doors, everyone was smiling. It felt really welcoming. I can already tell, this will be the best apartment complex I'll be living in.
Do NOT move to Rivers Edge. It is genuinely the worst place I have ever lived in Columbia.
The problems began on move in day. I signed a lease for a 2 bedroom where I wasn't assigned a roommate yet. I move into my unit and there's a girl and her boyfriend moving into my assigned bed space - as a young woman I did not feel safe living with a random man. Long story short, I had to wait until about 6pm (original move in time was 11:30am) to start actually moving into a completely different building and unit. Upon moving in, the AC was not working (and was not fixed for an entire month - loved spending the hottest part of the summer in Columbia with no AC at all). Also upon move in, the front door lock was broken to where my roommate and I couldn't lock from the outside, no water pressure in the kitchen sink at all, no hot water in bathrooms, no internet, dryer did not work, and maintenance tools were left in our dryer. Few days after move in we had a leak from the ceiling which left a hole. This issue was fixed in October, almost two months after we submitted a maintenance request. We honestly had about every maintenance issue you could think of but were told they were only tending to "emergencies". Sorry, I thought that the front door to an apartment of two young girls not locking was an emergency but I guess not! I understand these student complexes do all cleaning and renovations for new move in within a short time span during the summer, but Rivers Edge was just completely unprepared. How can you have this many issues just in one unit? One that was supposedly recently renovated and "VIP"?
In October, our pipe under the kitchen sink burst and we found mold. I cleaned it the best I could, since the incident happened after office hours and the "emergency" maintenance phone number is the same as the regular office number. Days later when maintenance shows up I tell him what happened and he says "well you fixed it there's nothing for me to do". In October our AC went out completely. They installed a window unit which only helped the living room - my bedroom was a constant 78 degrees.
In January there was yet another problem with the AC unit. It started making a really loud knocking noise that was shaking the living room and bedroom walls. It was so loud to the point I couldn't sleep. I called the office at least ten times personally, roommate called, boyfriend called, my parents called multiple times, submitted multiple service requests, emailed the front office with videos and photos, emailed the parent company, my father even went to the office in person to complain. It is June, a month out from the end of my lease, and nobody has actually fixed the noise. The AC unit is shaking violently and making it uncomfortable to live in my own apartment they don't seem to think it is an issue worth fixing.
Good luck to anybody who moves in here. They do not give a damn about the residents. Communication is terrible within the leasing office. If you send an email, expect to be ignored. But God forbid they don't get their rent money on time. Received a notice on June 2nd that my rent was late due to an issue on their end, and now they've taken out the rent from my account twice. Maintenance staff takes forever and a day to respond to anything and often times never actually fix anything. I have genuinely never been so frustrated with an apartment complex in my life. I have never had this many issues anywhere else. Rivers Edge is such a disappointment, I had really high hopes.

UPDATE: My AC has been out for the entire month of June and July. I submitted probably about 10 service requests and called and emailed. My bedroom is constantly 80 degrees. They finally checked it on JULY 10 and informed me that the unit is broken and needs replaced, which is what I have been telling them for a month. They leave me a voicemail saying it is scheduled to be replaced next week, the week of JULY 15 when my lease ends JULY 25. This management team/company is absolutely ENRAGING and PATHETIC. They only care about money.
i was born here with my brothers and parents lots of kids and fun BUT the house insanly disgusting roaches everywhere and the manager old white lady we asked her to clean it up and fix something but all she did was cover it up and me and my brothers and me got sick from it
My daughter has had the exact same experience as Steven W. She has had excessive electric and gas bills since she moved in last August . We have repeatedly called the leasing office for adjustments. I personally spoke to the manager about receiving credits and she told me she would take care of it and get back to me. That was over 2 weeks ago and we still have had no resolution or response from the manager. Hopefully, her next stop will be managed with a more professional leader. If you are looking for an apartment for your student, I recommend looking at other opportunities.

Surrounding area is really unsafe. Out of 2 years of living the front gate has only worked maybe 6 months. Been asking management for months for them to fix it. Today someone was shot right outside of it and I can’t help thinking that could’ve been me or my partner. Just don’t live here. Save yourself the anxiety.

After showing up to the property at Crestmont to do dryer vent services, I was impressed by the courtesy and respect from the wonderful maintenance staff and management staff. The resident were very glad and super appreciated of the work we were doing in cleaning of the dryer vents. We appreciate you at Crestmont for choosing a great company like ours to come and service your property and look forward in working with you again in the later future in servicing your dryer vents.
The housing units break many state laws and are not up to code in anyway. The conditions at a homeless shelter are more accommodating. Don’t waste your time and money.

I have been out here for a year. I have had my property stolen from my door twice. No need to alert management, because there is nothing they can do or won't do. They won't put up surveillance cameras at the building knowing it's an issue. My apartment always has problems . I just renewed my lease and I instantly regret it. Michelle aalways has an attitude towards guest or an excuse as if we are the problem when confronting her about problems. Save you money and time if you value you property and getting issues resolved without attitude.

Been living here almost two years.
Overall the property is pretty good.
I'm in probably the biggest 3 BR unit they offer, very spacious.
The location is extremely convenient to all the major shopping destinations.
Food, clothing etc.
Of course no apartment complex is perfect
But any problems I ever had, the manager miss MICHELLE addressed it immediately.
She's very down to earth and really goes out her way to make accommodations for you.
Prices have went up over the two years, but what haven't went up over the last two years.

Overall the property pretty good

By far the worst place I’ve lived! CRIME & GRIME THROUGH THE ROOF! I literally broke my lease to get out of this hell hole! The maintenance men are the best staff and still there’s no way they can fix all of the issues that come with this complex! Gate never works! So no safety whatsoever but they will still charge you for it. They send out emails about people breaking into cars, breaking into houses and mailboxes and place responsibility on the residents versus PUTTING UP SURVEILLANCE IN THE COMPLEX! This has been ongoing for almost a year so they know it’s an issue that needs proper response and investigation! Trash compactor always overflowing and/or broken. No matter how convenient the location is this this the most INCONVENIENT PLACE TO LIVE NEAR HARBISON FOR $2000/MONTH! The amenities do not work, pool closed almost all Summer & dirty even when open. The Property manager Michelle is the most rude and ignorant woman to ever operate this place, Thomas was the best and is no longer here! A/C units always breaking even after maintenance comes to “fix” because THEY NEED REPLACEMENT! The only reason the property LOOKS decent is because they only focus on appearance to dupe new residents into moving here. DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! The residents AND THE STAFF ARE PROBLEMATIC which is why they are always changing employees in the office. THEY WOULD RATHER SEND OUT EMAILS ABOUT FOOD TRUCKS THAN TAKE CARE OF THE RESIDENTS WHO PAY TO KEEP THIS PLACE GOING. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED! READ THE LOW REVIEWS THEY ARE MOST RECENT!
We truly enjoyed our time here. It's a very quiet & comfortable place to live. The manager, Michelle, is wonderful. She is professional & attentive to her residents.
They literally don’t take care of any work orders and you get billed for things they don’t even do …DO NOT move here
An amazing place to stay. Quiet and friendly you’ll love your new home! Management and team is exceptional and amazing people!

I wish I can do zero stars. The lady in the office made my fiancé sign a lease on an apartment with no heat and air. There are rodents chewing through the cabinets. The carpets are disgusting. There are fleas everywhere. They refuse to fix anything. The girl in the office said at this point y’all mind as well call the rodents pets cause they are everywhere. I’ve included photos of the fleas and rodents chewing through. Please stay away I’ve started coughing up blood from the mold. My fiancé has passed out twice in the apartment. STAY AWAY !!!!
Been here for the last 5 years and it is a safe a peaceful place to live. The management are usually quick in responding to the tenants request for any work to be done. If you want a clean, safe, quiet place to call a home then don't look far: Autumn Ridge is the place.
Kendra was so helpful this week! I called about renting and she was very patient and knowledgeable!
Don't rent here the new property manager is very very unprofessional all I did was tell her my concerns about the unit she tells me why did I drive back to see the unit I wanted to see the unit 1 last time before I got the welcome letter she didnot send it telling me I was going to cancel your application I asked her why she said I don't want you to get mad at me if I give you a date and it's not fixed I emailed her several times told her I was going to get unit anyways today I found out she rented it and these townhomes are on Kay St. I thought she was a sweet young lady but I was wrong !¡whom ever is the regional manager please give me a call befoe I contact corperate
Slumlords! They take your money, Never fix things in a timely manner, and they don't honor their commitments. If you have any other options take them and Never Look Back!

Making a review for this sorry excuse of an apartment complex even though I never had the displeasure of living here because the fake reviews on here are hilarious and obviously paid for (check the positive reviewers’ profiles and you can see that they leave generic reviews for other apartments across the US.) First off, their website is garbage and vague and my partner and I were falsely led to believe the unit we qualified for didn’t have carpet. Which would be fine if the carpet wasn’t disgusting (I’ll get to that shortly.) So we go one day to our scheduled appointment to check things out, the door was locked and the manager lady was out to lunch. We waited around for 45 minutes to see if she’d come back but she didn’t. We went home and called again to reschedule and the lady said the places was being “cleaned”. We reschedule, come back to look and it was most definitely not cleaned. The refrigerator had blood and maggots in the freezer and the carpet was disgusting with stains all in it. The shower severely needed resurfacing, and the window frames were painted shut (which is against fire code I’m pretty sure.) Oh yeah and there were roach eggs in all the electrical outlets. I left and confronted the manager lady and I told her the place was definitely not cleaned. She goes, “Oh well I usually don’t let people look at the apartments until they’re cleaned.” Miss lady TOLD us it was cleaned AND had the gall to ask us to sign the lease the same day after I told her the place wasn’t cleaned?! She even begged us to come back through email for days after that. My partner and I ended up moving out of state to somewhere WAY cheaper and actually worth the money. If you can afford to avoid this place, do yourself a favor and stay FAR AWAY.

I have attached the picture of the lovely roach egg outlet. It’s an awesome amenity.
Deserves 0 stars. The manager is running the apartments in illegal ways. Completely violating the Landlord/Tenant Act. Residents, read up on your rights and get paid to live there.
I was in the area, looking at town homes across the street. When I seen the big flag and welcoming sign to stop by they are leasing! Well I got out my vehicle and walked to the leasing office, there was a tenant in front of me. Who had already knocked on the door! Well a lady, African American, short, mid length extension and a gap in her front teeth. Well she immediately open the door, screaming I’m in a meeting. The gentleman was asking something pertaining to his rent, seem to be a older gentleman. Well she rushed him just sayin guess, ok yeah well I’m in a meeting and after that I’m going to lunch and that she couldn’t talk to him . He walked off, I walked up I attempted to explain to her I seen your signs and was interested in possibly seeing one of your apartments. She immediately interrupted and stated everything was online and no she didn’t have anything. Nothin would be Available until after April 1. And shut the door! My thing is why have these huge signs stating come on in if this is what you are welcoming people to. I thought to give it a chance even though the curb appeal is horrible! And from the reviews I’m glad o was handled so ugly! I would never wanna call a place like this home!
I live here now and it’s ridiculously nasty. Roach infestation. No pest control. With 3 toddlers and the roaches will crawl on them while asleep. Told management yet nothing is being done. Shower head barely have water coming out of it and i pay $949 for a 2 bedroom 1ba. My youngest son is 1 and he sees me killing roaches 24/7 that now he knows how to kill them when he see one. Its nasty man. I was never aware of the roaches. Every person in my building has told me no one stay because of the roaches and I see why. I came from a home where i was paying 750, NO ROACHES. To come here and pay 949 for a roach infested apartment. No cameras. A little young boy stole my car one night. Luckily i had a tracking device on it. Its a no for me
I have been here since Sept 2020 and have had a great experience thus far - I actually just renewed my lease for another year! The buildings have just been repainted and the complex is always very well maintained. The price is good and the complex is generally very quiet. I have not had any major maintenance issues, but when there is something, the property manager Michelle and the maintenance crew is always on it!

The unit itself is spacious and functional. I will mention that with the unit being older, the windows are not exactly efficient so A/C and heat can be a bit pricey during the summer/winter, but having a lower rate for rent helps with that! My particular unit does not come with in-unit laundry (there is a laundry room in the leasing office but I tend to go to a friend's house), but I plan on upgrading to a unit with laundry included and Michelle is making that process very easy.

I originally chose to look at Autumn Ridge because it has great reviews compared to others, which is why I'm writing this - I recommend living here!
The landscaping of this complex is beautiful. But looks are deceiving. Our apartment was thrown together upon moving in. The AC did not work upstairs and the apartment stayed two different temperatures. They suggested we buy a window unit to put upstairs. There were paint stains in the bathrooms and the tile/flooring was not secure. The AC vents were full of old trash. Maintenance is slow and outwardly complain when they did come to fix something. On-call maintenance does not answer the phone. And the professionalism of the staff depends on what day you catch them.
I have lived here for 7 years, and just bought a house. The community is quiet overall, and management team is awesome. Someone did go through my car one night, but I had left it unlocked by mistake. I have had no major problems that were not addressed quickly by management.
I've been here for just over a month, and I'm thrilled! The staff has been great, and Michelle, the Property Manager, is incredible! Very helpful and super personable and quick to answer any questions I've had along the way (and I'm an anxious, question-asking person)! The units are older, but clean and well kept up. The one bedroom offers plenty of space and storage, and even with all my furniture and belongings, it still feels open and roomy. There was an issue with the ceiling fan in my bedroom, but the service staff was able to fix immediately and graciously. I'm very happy here at Autumn Ridge!
Ok, so I moved in a few weeks ago and I swear it’s so peaceful and quite. The place is clean and neat too. One thing that I liked was the landlord she was very kind and nice and helpful. I don’t care for landlords that act as If they are lord of the manner. Lol. The laundry area is so clean and smells good too. I never see that anywhere. The location is so close the interstate and seems close to great shopping from every direction. My kid loves the school and it’s conveniently located a few minutes away. I needed a hand with something and the maintenance guys were on it as if it was there own homes. This is really a different environment. I don’t usually do reviews so this says a lot.
Well, I can't really say much about Meredith Square, I lived there back in 1994, as I remembered, it was a nice place and I met alot of nice people and played alot with the kids I made friends with, the swimming pool was nice the play ground as I remember, was all wood there was even a sand hill. As I hear the place changed dramatically. What a Big Transformation.. still looks nice from pictures I've seen. Now, I live in Illinois. The worst place to live, taxes are high.
Having seen my father live here for nearly ten years - and subsequently pass away here - I can say that this place is a sorry excuse for housing. When we arrived, it was (and still is, last I checked) a slum for immigrant workers and their families living off welfare. He only got the place so cheap (at the time) because it's in such a bad area. It did make an effort to improve itself on the outside, with paving the parking areas and setting up a playground for the many unsupervised children here, but that did nothing to help my dad with the roach infestation and the mildew - with the upstairs bathtub threatening to collapse into ours.
I have lived at Autumn Ridge Apartments for going on four years. I have to hand it to Michelle, the apartment manager because she is AMAZING! She’s so friendly and always makes sure everything is kept clean, neat, and quiet! Whenever I have a maintenance request they are always so quick to get things situated. Mr. Albert who does most of the maintenance work for Autumn Ridge really knows his stuff and is super friendly! Both Michelle and Albert are true assets to this complex! This is by far the best apartment complex in the area that I have ever lived....All thanks to the amazing staff.
I love my apartment, I moved out here in September 2017 and still here no problem at all. I wish they had a playground for the kids out here so that way they will stay out the street other than that i love it but not anymore this will be the second summer no pool and no grill. And on top of that the rent is going up.
This is the worst place ever. I moved in April 2017 my home was infested with roaches ! Spiders ! An other bugs. The staff is horrible. They move on there time . I never received my 300.00 deposit back . One of the staff signed & cashed my check and kept it for her self ! A police report was filed ! The noise level is horrible . While living at Meredith square I had to contact housing on several occasions . Windows are pad locked ! If you move here you will regret it ! I would of stayed under a bridge !
The apartment itself was gorgeous and so cozy. The property was nice and well maintained. I didn't like the fact, there were sooo many different property managers. I definitely didn't like the one that's there now. She's rude. Uncaring. And just a phony. She gets the guy there to do her "dirty" work, while she seems like the caring and understanding person.
When I first arrived it was hard to get maintenance to fix anything but as time went on, I started to see improvement. Did have bugs. Every time I would asked to get on the pest control, they NEVER came. Every time I mention it " oh someone's coming" but of course no one shows up. No carpet. Didn't like that all. The floors was sooo hard and uncomfortable to walk on. Great prices. Over all quiet, might hear kids playing but for the most part pretty quiet and laid back area. Enjoyed my year there, until that last property manger came and thought she was the "owner".
I moved into Meredith Square in September 2015 from up north in Pennsylvania and I love it. I can't say that I have any complaints as of yet. The office staff is very friendly and when I call for anything that's wrong in my unit they fix it. My apartment is cozy and comfortable and the fireplace is a good bonus.
Lived here and enjoyed the apartment and property management staff. My unit was newly carpeted and laminate floor was put down at my request. Neighbors could be shotty at times but I just carried my pistol with me everywhere so that wasnt really an issue. Nice place aside from the occasional drug dealer neighbor. Moving back possibly.
This is a great neighborhood, the neighbors all get alone well and watches out for each other which is a plus. Management are very professional and umderstandingy. Really people friendly and are up on all mattes relating to property matters. The area is clean and lawns are manicured regularly weekly. A great place to live. All hats off to management.
