Oh, Great Smiter of Conscience!

Thus I cried out to a crow seeming to land on the shoulder of a venerated author, his legacy flung wild to the wind and committed to treachery incarnate by the wilds of Central Park. Here would ever the aspirers line up to gawk at his likeness, here would sunsets rise to meet the dawn, here would glad tidyness bring its own abuttal in the court of the damned and remark, as if in aside to the jury but with enough elegance to capture the sway of a judge rendered obsolete by time and desperate by reverence, "It is enough to bring glad tidings, is it not my fair friends? It is hardly a joke among comrades to set their laughter free, so why should we not bring ourselves to task in this grimy murder - yes, I know, sustained, I know."

The crow did not respond, but several weeks later I received a scroll at the postage box on my calling card:

I beg for signs every day, that there
Might be a stronger pull beyond the past
But this is one small lens on life that begs
To be rewritten by the ones who cast
Aspersions on what feels and flows, on what
Grows limbs and knees and wills and skin and toes,
And after all that grants it life but not
Without keeping sure this thing always knows
That consciousness is only its by loan
And any moment could make it a drone.
A small but beautiful garden in the midst of the hustle and grind of Soho. Statues stay watch in this serene escape from the craziness that the city brings. You can immediately feel a sense of calm as you pass through the gates into this little beautiful getaway.

There is seating spattered throughout the park and it is a beautiful place just to sit, sip a coffee and get lost in a daydream.

Hidden Gem, nice for a short walk/relax. Amazing how quickly you can disassociate yourself from the city in here

Lots of places near by to get food or a coffee to take in and relax. Have also attended the movie nights a few times which were great
I really enjoyed it here. There happened to be chess boards setup on the day we viy, you can play all you want for 5$. Even without the chess it was a great spot.
I love this garden, i love to sit there and talk to people from the neighborhood. I love the very social way this garden has been designed, the only thing that I don’t like are the volunteers there who most of the time are profiling people getting in and give an attitude. I unfortunately now ignore them most of the time over having a discussion with them. They must contribute in a good way to what the garden needs I’m sure but the attitude they are serving is absolutely out of the point.
I had not seen this part of Central Park before and was truly glad to discover it. The mall seems to be a large shady tree lined area with several statues of literary figures from the past. Several artist also perform their music in the area adding to our enjoyment. A great place to stroll and enjoy the ambience.
Lovely little neighborhood garden but not enough seats. People hog the seats for hours. You can come in and look around but it’s hard for everyone to sit and enjoy the beauty. A nice idea though.

Great hidden place to walk and sit, especially with good weather. Apparently the city is trying to tear it down to develop a building.

I wish I can visit this place more often. It is such a tranquil place to sit quietly and relax.
Gorgeous community garden and courtyard in the middle of busy Soho. A beautiful little break inside a bustling city. Great place to stop and eat after grabbing a hero at Parisi or pizza from prince st.

Make sure to donate as there are corporations gunning for it to be torn down and made into apartments! That would be a big shame!
Talking a short stroll along Central Park. Would expect maybe a few cafes around the park to chill.
In the super-crowded Soho/Nolita neighborhoods, this garden is an oasis. The highlight is the many architectural remnants, but there are a few unique trees of note. Friendly volunteers, be sure to chat up one of the gardeners if present. When I worked in the neighborhood, the garden was essential, with its urban beauty and plenty of areas to sit down and relax.

The city wants to take over the spot to sell to a developer (probably to build a generic glass tower), so it’s been an ongoing legal battle to save this community garden, which is the only green spot to be found for blocks.

Help save the garden! Even if you only visit the area occasionally, this oasis is so important to the community and visitors alike!
Small and cozy gardens with seating options. Sculptures all around you and other artifacts. Amazingly curated spaces.
One of the gems of Central Park! The double rows of trees in the Mall leading to Bethesda Terrace are splendid, specifically in the fall when the leaves turn yellow. This is an excellent place for a stroll, people-watching, contemplating the trees, or listening to music.
Iconic place in Central park. The Mall Walk will make you fill like in movies.

Such a nice place all surrounded big nature and big trees. Very bucolic scenery.
Iconic area, just happened there was some filming going on here, lovely place to hang around or just for a walk
The mall of trees is a grand section in Central Park. It is a famous spot used in many movies. It is a great place to jog or take a leisure walk with or without your dog. We were there towards the end of September and you can see the leaves hadn't started turning to fall colors yet.
Interesting community garden.
Not so sure
Place to hang out
A really interesting sculpture garden, a little different from your typical Lower East Side Community Garden.
Carino, una bella idea
Gardens FTW!
