Nice place, well designed field layouts, good conditioned greens, very kind staffs, nice bunker designs, only 20 min from NJ.
Definitely, I would come back.

Great place for a hike. Free parking during off season. Help keep the park clean!
Good park for quick play time, it’s always clean and parking is readily available. The bus also stops in front.

I enjoyed Pelham Bay Park. I went on the trails on Hunter Island and visited Glovers Rock. The trails were interesting and scenic. The park was quiet and peaceful during this time of year.

This is an absolutely heavenly place to visit in the bronx. The skyline and water color are extreme beauty of this bay. I have visited this place with my friends and enjoyed the natural beauty.

Very nice, low key park. The main problem with this park is there is a NYPD shooting range across the bay. This means it is never peaceful. As you try for a nice peaceful walk, it will be inundated with sounds of automatic weapons and gunfire as if you are running through a battle zone. It can be very disturbing. You can have barbecues in the picnic area. There are tennis courts, a dog park, a very nice park for all age children with an attached basketball court and bathrooms. It is kept clean and attended by the nyc parks department. There are softball/baseball areas and very close to city island.

One of the biggest park in the city of New York lots of tree and still very green, the only thing most people don’t dispose their garbage properly. Workers always tried to do there job properly, thanks to that.

Very nice park to sit down and relax when you have time.
This was a trip to the Bronx zoo. Be prepared for a lot of walking. It was raining on and off. Difficult to see animals. Many were a distance away. For indoor displays a lot of animals seem to be missing. Perhaps I went on a bad day.
I would highly recommend buying tickets online. They are typically cheaper and grant access to everything at the zoo. I paid $32.00 online and had access to everything at zoo.
If you buy tickets at zoo, it will cost you $37.00 plus you will have to pay extra for monorail, children's zoo, certain animal houses, etc. Close to $100 when all is said and done. Overall the zoo has beautiful grounds and is well kept.

I love the nature trails all the little hikes are beautiful as are the views, unfortunately the water quality is less than desirable for swimming.
Says private. Not open
One of the finest zoos, sprawling over 265 acres, the Bronx Zoo offers ample parking at the Bronx River Forest area. Our parking fee was $20. If you plan to visit on a free day, it's wise to secure your tickets in advance through the link provided in the FAQ section of their website. While the chosen time slot often doesn't impact entry, the decision rests with the entrance staff on the day of your visit. It's worth noting that during the summer, free days tend to draw large crowds. Consider enhancing your experience by upgrading your free ticket for $17, which grants access to unlimited rides on the hop-on-hop-off battery train, the Jungle World exhibit, the monorail, and the Gorilla section – all included in the upgrade.

To thoroughly explore the entire park, allocate a minimum of 4 to 5 hours.
Great for a family day trip. There is so much to see and do.

Wow! Where has this very large public park been hidden for so long?! In plain site and so easy to get to and park, an outdoor day of hiking and beaches and relaxing. Many Bar B Queing going on and a nice and relaxing place to visit. And enjoy a very different view of Long Island and the Bronx. Put it on your list!!
I discovered City Island today and what a peaceful and relaxing place! This area by the water was so nice. I am going to come here whenever I am stressed out and need a break.
A gem site in the Bronx. No everyone living in nyc knows that there is a waterfall den in the city. The only way you can get to see it if you go there by train.

If you are into saving endangered species, you really need to support bronx zoo, from snow leopards, red pandas, rhinos and other exotic animals, the staff here ensure that the animals remain happy, safe and well taken care off. The train through the park is an enjoyable experience so would highly recommend taking it. Please help bronx zoo save the endangered ones.

Visiting Bronx River Forest through NYBG was a great experience. Great trip for people of all ages. Accessible via mass transit, Metro North, and car. Free entrance on Wednesday's. There's a vast area to take nice walks and hikes. Nice displays of nature's botanical gardens. There are restaurants and a very nice gift shop. If you're into photography there's a multiple of areas to take awesome pics.

You cant get there because the local folk put up an illegal fence and have marked the public space private in a self serving effort to keep people away.
It's not worth it. There is no parking, also in my two attempts to go there I can't pass from the street. It seems to be closed early.also there is no access to water.
This is just an eye catching name. There is no wetlands.

Nice park if your looking for a small park to take your kids to that doesn't have alot of kids this is the one very peaceful it also has a trail you can take to get a bigger park with alot more kids there. But this one was very nice my children were the only one there at the time. Also the library is right across 5he street from the park
Great history is embedded in the experience. You feel the sense of freedom embodied by birds
Never open, but nice looking spot in the summer when the leaves and grass grow, not sure who's in charge but someone has cookouts with the many grills around the sanctuary, there's a separate lot with one table that's open but no signage not sure if connected... cool new playground (grant park) across the street
A tranquil place to see nature’s beauty

Well considering the park has a beautiful selection of foliage and medicinal plants like sassafras sweetgum and jewelweed for the poison ivy scattered around .the sad part is all the trash littered around and the only wildlife to see are the homeless people sleeping deep in the park i only recommend hikes in a day but other than that it could be a very beautiful place.

Really nice park, if you want a bit of nature without going upstate or out of state. Definitely worth exploring
There is a lot of parking around the edges of the park even if they don't have a dedicated parking lot. The trails in this park are wide and paved. They have all the trails marked and mapped so you won't get lost on your stroll. It's a nice place to just unwind and take in some scenery. There are a couple of small playgrounds that are old and better suited to small kids.

There is a small creek too if the little ones want to play in some mud. Let them explore and have fun. This is a perfect park for that.

Tiny tiny park left almost untouched for the better part of the last century. We'll kept secret.

Beautifully maintained park, it was unfortunately locked when we visited, but still were able to peer in and watch the birds! They have several benches and a gazebo as well.
Well kept garden that is clearly loved, had a small party in the Park and was surprised by its maintenance.
