The bathrooms are atrocious, but the park is beautiful. Went there for a field day with 504-LADY, my go-to lawyer for ALL of my traffic ticket needs. Give her a call if you need help with your traffic tickets (504) 504-LADY!
What a gorgeous park! Lots of places to walk, run, and bike. Plenty of areas for recreational sports or just sitting and gazing at the river, watching the boats go by.
Beautiful area to watch the sunset. Love the boats passing on the water. This place can get pretty busy and pretty loud. Recommend bringing lawn chairs. There are bathrooms nearby but you’ll need your own food and drink. Everyone kinda plays their own music so unless you want to listen to someone else’s favorite playlist, you should bring headphones
I’m one of the lucky one’s as I live right by the park which the walking trail circles around the Golf course, across the street is the world famous Zoo, then just past it is “The Fly” as it is commonly called which is the shoreline of the Mighty Mississippi River.

Try to make your way to Jackson Square during church hours so that you have a chance to see inside the beautiful building. It isn't very bug, but it boast beautiful details. The park is also a great place to catch local artist and performers showcasing their talent.

A place of art, and mixed beliefs - but a beautiful place to visit.
An added bonus if you're an 'Originals' fan. The end bench is from the final scenes of Elijah and Klaus - there is a little memorial attached to the back of the seat (photo added)

Worth visiting.
On Wednesday, the Loud Mime put on a funny, entertaining, and free show between this park and the cathedral; donations encouraged after the show.

Good place with a good history. Jackson square always busy especially on weekends. Many street art and historical buildings around the park . Good view in front of the park and a cathedral behind.

Walked over from the river front. And picked up a horse (mule) drawn carriage tour of local haunts. The park has an interesting history. It's beautiful to walk around with plenty of places to sit and take pictures.

Wonderful place to relax & enjoy what this park has to offer. Artists, musicians, people from all the web, & the best Beignets at Cafe Du Monde. On this day I also enjoyed a festival honoring those who migrated to New Orleans from India.

Fleur De Lis Park in Metairie, LA, is a hidden gem that has become a favorite among locals seeking a tranquil escape. The park's serene ambiance sets it apart, offering a peaceful retreat within the bustling city.

The kids' play area is a standout feature, providing a safe and secure environment for little ones to explore and play. The privacy of the play area adds an extra layer of comfort for parents, allowing them to relax while their children enjoy the various play structures. The park's thoughtful design ensures that families can enjoy quality time together in a quiet and peaceful setting.

One of the remarkable aspects of Fleur De Lis Park is its commitment to safety. The well-maintained play equipment, along with the park's overall cleanliness, reflects the dedication of the staff to creating a secure space for families to unwind.

Whether you're looking for a spot to enjoy a serene afternoon picnic or a peaceful play area for the kids, Fleur De Lis Park exceeds expectations. Its quiet and private atmosphere, coupled with a focus on safety, make it a go-to destination for families in Metairie.
We were looking for the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park. Google Maps pointed us to a gate on St Phillip Street. We parked on St. Phillip St. One gate was shackled locked, and one was open. Found the main gate on N Rampart St. It's the Louis Armstrong Park. The park contains the New Orleans Municipal Auditorium, the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts, several boarded up buildings owned by the New Orleans Jazz National Historic Park, and the site of Congo Square. We walked around the park, and you could tell it had seen better days. There was signage but nothing about being a national park. Boarded up buildings and stagnant ponds. It looks like someone tries to keep the grounds clean, as the roses are beautiful and the grass is cut and edged. Sculptures were interesting. We crossed the bridge and went to the firehouse as there was a government truck there. It's just a run-down warehouse with workers sitting inside. Picnic tables around, people walking dogs and runners using park. Looks like the #NationalParkService has let this one fall through the cracks. This park could be beautiful. Found a Park Service website that lists 419 Decatur St, New Orleans, LA 70130 as the address for national park, it's just a store front, in the French Quarter with rangers and signage. Got my stamp for jazz NP and Jean La Fitte NP.
An amazing historical site. A LOT of history. If you love historical facts this is a great place to visit!!! Alot of tours come through, but book one with All About Dat Tours LLC.
One of the cleanest and most peaceful parks. Given the size, they managed space well to include swan boat rides, accommodate runners, cyclists, lots of picnics, and good driving lanes for easy parking and pickup!!

Some super scenic views and a great place to go for sunset watching before dinner!
Louis Armstrong park is great for a stroll. It’s clean and open. There are several little signs with information and sculptures that educate on the history of the park and surrounding areas. Very cool!

Surrounded by historic buildings and homes this place is a great place to relax. Nested between the famous bourbon st and the French market this place offers a great escape from the sensory overload that is New Orleans.
This is a great place to relax and take some amazing photos. We sat on the grass and just enjoyed the beautiful weather before heading to the French market for lunch!
Surrounded by local vendors, musicians and artists this place truly captures the essence and beauty of New Orleans
We stopped at the city bark for our fury friend to burn some energy while we made our cross country trip from Phoenix to Savannah along the I10. Best dog park I've ever been to hands down. Clean, has hills, plenty of shade, obstacles, and little pools I wish my pooch didn't discover on this trip 😂. Thank you NOLA for providing this to your residents and travelers like myself.

Huge park with loads to see and do. The sculpture park, botanical gardens and Storyland are all highly recommended. I was there for 2 hours yet only saw a small part of this huge park. Definitely worth a visit!
Rented a car while in New Orleans and just happened upon this place. Such an amazing place. Cafe Du Monde had the only comfortable chairs of the entire trip. Very clean, friendly and peaceful. So much to see and do. Must add to “to do” lists
Incredible city park with tons to see. Sculpture garden was truly one of a kind. Entire park appeared to be well maintained with plenty of visitors of all ages.
Loved to come here in the mornings, relax, and drink coffee.
One of my favorite places in the city. It's not only beautiful, clean and easy to get to but very peaceful. I love that it's not just a park but there are so many things to enjoy including a restaurant, museums, both botanical & sculpture gardens, paddle boats, golf, a cute train that goes around the park for the kids, walking paths, a pond, the beautiful trees and so much more.

What a fantastic discovery at Woldenberg Park near French Quarter! The sunset stroll along the Mississippi River was simply mesmerizing, with Jackson Square adding historic charm.

It is more of a riverwalk with live music and street performances, especially during the French Quarter Festival. The park includes several art installations: notably the Monument to the Immigrant and Ocean Song. Whether you're biking, walking, jogging, or just unwinding, this riverwalk oasis is a must-visit.
We visited the Audobon Aquarium and the Insectarium. Both were awesome. This is definitely something to do with kids or grandkids.

Soulful Retreat at Louis Armstrong Park, New Orleans

Louis Armstrong Park in New Orleans is a captivating oasis that beautifully encapsulates the spirit of this vibrant city. Stepping into the park felt like entering a realm of tranquility, where the echoes of jazz and the essence of New Orleans' culture converge.

The park's lush green spaces provide a welcome escape from the bustling streets, offering a serene environment to unwind and reflect. The sculptures and artistic installations pay homage to the city's rich history and its legendary figures, like Louis Armstrong himself.

The ambiance is further enriched by the rhythmic melodies of live music that often grace the park. As a music lover, I was enchanted by the performances that seemed to breathe life into every corner. The fusion of sounds and the palpable sense of community create an unforgettable experience.

The park's unique charm extends to the stunning Congo Square, a historical site that resonates with the echoes of the past. Learning about its significance and the gatherings that took place there added depth to my visit.

Louis Armstrong Park is more than just a park; it's a living testament to the heart and soul of New Orleans. Whether you're seeking a peaceful stroll, a cultural immersion, or simply a place to revel in the magic of jazz, this park offers an enriching experience that's not to be missed.

Lovely park! Tucked away in Lakeview. Very tranquil and wasn’t to many people there at the play ground when we visited.
We found Louis Armstrong Park to be a wonderful spot to walk, explore and celebrate the legends of jazz. Acres of grass, shade trees, water and benches. Several very nice sculptures of Buddy Bolden, Sydney Bechet and Louis Armstrong. Towards the back are several historic buildings in varying states of repair. A very worthwhile place to see.
Armstrong Park is one of my favorite places in the world. This park is filled with history and culture. And Congo Square, inside Armstrong, is a great place to feel ancestral energy. You can catch all kinds of events here as well. Participate in the Sunday evening drum circles, or join the annual Maafa, leave offerings at the ancestral tree…this is just a wonderful place!!!
One of the most beautiful parks in the world!!! Interesting fact…City Park was once one large plantation. It is 50% larger than Central Park in New York. It is amazing. You can take gorgeous photos here for sure! There is so much fun to be had here…plus you can get beignets! By far one of the MUST experiences when in New Orleans!
Beautiful place to walk and take in the beautiful sights!

Just a note of caution to other tourists: Had someone local yell and cuss me out when he thought he was in the background of my photo, although he wasn’t, and he just cussed even more when I tried to apologize and explain… he got ugly fast, but fortunately walked off. Other than that, the park seemed very pleasant and safe to walk through solo.

Highly recommend checking out the sculpture gardens along with everything else here, you can spend an entire day and then some!

In A Nutshell:

-Louis Armstrong Park was just okay.
-It has lot of open spaces, but the water in the pond was pretty green & murky.
-I did notice a big turtle enjoying life swimming around.
-I came during the middle of the week so it was pretty quiet walking around.

Overall, I was slightly disappointed in this park, I was hoping it would have more life & activity like other parks in popular cities around the USA & world.
Cute place to take pictures and Cafe de Monde is in the vicinity.
At first the Moonwalk, named after New Orleans Mayor Moon Landrieu, seems like just a great place to walk along the Mississippi. A little closer look will reveal so much more. The paving replaced the original wooden planks at this once port. The architecture and landscaping disguises that this is part of the flood control system. The walk is atop a levy, lined with limestone on the riverside to prevent erosion. Massive iron gates at the entrances can be closed protecting the City during hurricanes. The street car system even runs through the area. A marvelous piece of engineering maintained by the Levy Board and the US Corps of Engineers. A wonderful free walk along the flood control system.
I have not been to this park since the early 90s. It was really nice to walk around. A little dated but definitely some really good memories of drum circles in Congo Square not many folks since it was a weekday but we did see a few summer campers getting some New Orleans history lessons. Definitely worth visiting for the history and the art work/sculptures.

Woldenberg Park is a medium sized public park along the Mississippi river. We enjoy walking along or sitting beneath the many live oaks and crepe myrtle trees. There is also a large grass field for pick nickers or play. Be sure to look for the bronze statue of Mr. Woldenberg sitting on a bench and speaking with a young man. A nice park to visit.

Beautiful river walk on the banks of Mississippi. Calm quiet. You have access to ferry and cruise. You can also visit the aquarium.
Views from ever side, one looks over the Mississippi River, behind it is Jackson Square and the historic Cathedral. You can usually see street performers here, palm readers, so grab some frozen coffee from Cafe DuMont (just off to the side) and take a stroll. There are steps here the lead right to the waterfront.
This is one of my favorite places along the Riverwalk, not only does it provide wonderful views of the Mississippi River, Natchez River Boat, but it also places the City clearly in the background. There is also a wonderful 40 foot wide staircase that leads down to the river, perfect for taking in the sunrise or sunset.
A nice boardwalk that allows you to relax and watch the ships pass by. A little quieter than Jackson Square which is not far away.
Beautiful place to sit, people watch, watch Mississippi River traffic and wild life while unwinding on the Moonwalk. Plenty seating, breezy and sooooooo relaxing.

A beautiful walk along the Mississippi and some beautiful artwork and sculptures. If you’re looking for a great spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon brew, this is a peaceful place to watch the action on the river.

Very windy here so if that bothers you don't go also there was a lot of graffiti (not artful graffiti either). But since the wind doesn't bother me it was a nice walk along the Mississippi River. I sat on a bench away from the water and by the steamboats so there was music from the boat. It was a nice place to relax and read. Lots of people walking dogs here too!
Lovely park with a great view of the river. I would definitely recommend to go here for sunset. We’ve done this multiple times and have never been disappointed. You can sit down on the grass and watch the stars rise in the night sky. Very peaceful and serene place.
Awesome park. Loved being by the water with shade and a light breeze. Tons of families out having fun, the energy was great and it felt both safe and stunning in it’s collection of trees and sunshine.

My kids had a great time here.
River park located in French Quarter opposite to Jackson square/St.Louis cathedral.
Features
*Preferred time to visit the park shall be day time as the Cathedral view looks awesome during day than in night.
*From thanksgiving to New year close, they shall lit up Christmas trees and the place shall be decorated with lights.
*Place gets crowded during afternoon -evening time so best time to take pictures shall be early morning.
*There are steps on the river bank facing Mississippi river to spend the evening time.
Good place to spend with family on the evening time
Surrounded by beautiful Oaks trees, this is a tranquil place to let the children play. Many shaded areas and not a single piece of trash on the lawn. What a brilliant effort to enhance the neighborhood. I hope they keep it that way. Thank you!
Great playground for young children. Ground surface is very safe. May need more swings for younger children.
