We were the only people in here so I was a little skeptical. There were countless food pickups while we were there so it has to be popular. I got the beef sliders and fries, and my husband got the short rib bowl. The food was amazing!

Ordered online so cannot speak to the service or the atmosphere of the space but the boneless chicken bites had BARELY ANY CHICKEN and are somehow WAY too sweet and WAY too salty at the same time - ALL BREADING

Also, the Sake “bottle” is actually a flimsy plastic cup that came with some plastic wrap under the lid

The place is very small, tables for 1-4 people. Although there is still a bar area. Friendly staff, very tasty and large bowl's
I personally recommend Dol Sot Bowl + Bulgogi (beef), and you have to be careful because the stone bowl is very hot
I really liked Ssam in the beginning, but over time, things seem to have fallen. I ordered the fried rice and it arrived completely burnt. You no longer receive the little trays of kimchi or pickles radish and the service seems rushed. The food also seems like warm and like if not as much care was put into it. Ssam used to be a go-to spot and now… not really :(

Huge food safety issue🚨
I've ordered several times food delivery, and it was fine. But this time, "I was SHOCKED to find an STEEL WIRE in my food. I nearly swallowed it, mistaking it for a bone or something else. This definitely raises serious concerns about food safety standards at this place. I lost my appetite and threw the whole thing out. 🤮

It was good. Pretty heavy on the batter. The wings are on the small side. I’ll try the sandwich next time.

Been in this neighborhood for 10 years. This place used to serve good korean foods over time but the food quality has changed recently. I ordered through Uber Eats, Budae Jjigae and Galbi. Galbi came with rotten garlic pieces so I had to throw the entire dish away to avoid any food poisoning. Meat seems to be very hard. Budae jjigae doesn’t have a full flavor that you can expect from what this dish should have if you know the Budae Jjigae. Ingredients are definitely poorly quality and not fresh.
Paid almost $80 and it is definitely overpriced for what you get.
Try find other korean place than this. Not recommended.

Usually pelicana chicken spots are good but this must have been a one-off. Came in to get two chicken sandwiches around 6, and the service was terrible- just really rude. When I got my sandwiches they were soggy with frying oil.

I need to preface with I’m just a tourist out here. I love love love Korean food!! As I was walking down the street to the subway to catch my flight back, I saw this place and decided to give it a try. The place is quite lovely! Decor is great! Service was not friendly at all. I came in and I was the only one there. The server did not smile once. As I’m looking at the menu I can hear her sighing heavily. I order my food and the entire time she’s sighing. I get my food rather fast and it was huge. The portions are very big. The food was delicious. But my biggest gripe was that it felt like either A) the server was having a bad day (which is totally understandable as we all have them) or B) she was bothered at me being there. Now I don’t know what may have been the issue but I felt so unwelcome and uncomfortable. I have been in a customer service facing job before and I know it can be a lot or there may be personal issues, but I felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome.

This is a take out only spot. Ordered the Korean fried chicken wings with the sweet and spicy sauce. Would definitely order the wings again! Wings were crispy and sauce was good. The only drawback is that you have to pay for the sauce separately. One of the top places in the Greenpoint/Williamsburg area for Korean fried chicken wings.

Quite literally my bi-weekly go to girl dinner. I seriously crave this chicken on a weekly basis and have to stop myself from going weekly. The family who runs this store are so sweet and kind. Prices are a little higher but still affordable. They package the items so meticulously too!

I was craving their chicken so on Saturday 12/29 my nephew and I came to order some food. They explained it would be an hour because they have so many orders. We first said we will come back after the new year, but the craving was too much...lol. So we placed an order. The husband and wife are the sweetest people.
They kept apologizing for the delay. It did take over an hour, but so worth it. Enjoyed every piece of chicken, cannot wait for this weekend i will be ordering some more 😋

I lived in Daegu, South Korea, teaching English and this is the best Korean fried chicken that I’ve had since that experience! Absolutely wonderful local Greenpoint business run by a lovely family. They even let me practice my (bad) Korean with them. Happy new year and can’t wait to patron this place throughout 2024.

This is a nice homey feeling Korean restaurant near Graham Ave L train station. It's so convenient location, so I wanted to try. I had spicy pork bibimbup in hot stone bowl, comes only with a small kimchee as free side dish.
The atmosphere, service, and menu are wonderful, but I didn't like the bibimbup the way they cook. It had A LOT OF black pepper in the white rice, and tasted very differently from the one I know. I'm an Asian, I love spicy food, but not black pepper rice. Maybe I'll try a different dish next time to see...
Late night run 😬, I wanted to eat some chicken but was not sure what I really wanted after. This place did just that… the location is great, the atmosphere is nice and, and guess what the service was wonderful… I say give them a try ( 617 Grand street, Brooklyn NY 11211…. open from 3pm-11pm ) you won’t regret it…MOE will take care of you.

I went there accidentally but wow, I love accidents like that! Place’s really cosy, staff is super nice and the food amazing!
I went there a few minutes after they open so it was quite empty but I can imagine it’s getting busier in the evenings.
I had lychee martini (love itl and korean pancake. And it was soo good! Totally recommend!

I eat here once every two weeks. The best Korean food I’ve had in my life. The service is amazing, the food is top tier and so is the price point. I could eat this food forever. My fav dishes are the Jeeyok bokum, seafood soup, the soy garlic wings and the jabchae with beef!

The Bulgogi Bowl I ordered arrived with a blend of white rice, carrots, spinach, and mushrooms that were remarkably satisfying. However, the beef itself lacked the expected punch of flavor; it felt like it needed a glaze or a sauce to enhance its taste profile. Despite this, the bowl was still enjoyable. As for the choco pie, it was reminiscent of moon cakes, offering a nostalgic and delightful taste. The taro mochis stole the spotlight with their rich, flavorful essence that resonated with tea and sweet rice, securing the top spot among my choices from this place.

Surprisingly, the fries at this establishment were a standout—crispy yet somewhat fluffy, making them a dish I'd readily reorder. On the flip side, the Galbi burger seemed overcooked, lacking the desired medium-rare essence. Although passable, it didn't leave a memorable impression, making it unlikely for me to order again. The kimchi pajeon, on the other hand, exuded a wonderful burst of flavor. Although enjoyable, I'd likely opt for scallion pancakes over this particular variation next time.

The Bulbap Spicy Chicken Mandoo left me with mixed feelings; its overly moist texture and egg roll-like taste didn't quite match my expectations. I'd lean towards a crispy egg roll as a preferable alternative. Lastly, the spam fried rice with kimchi and egg was a delightful surprise, exploding with flavor and generously portioned. Overall, despite some hits and misses, the place is worth revisiting due to the overall quality and quantity of the food offered.

Their price points vs. the amount of food is laughable. Truly not authentic Korean food, especially when you have to pay extra for fishcake which is 100% included in an actual authentic tteokboki. It’s like getting charged extra for bean sprout when you order pad Thai. It should already be A PART of the dish smh. $32 for these two appetizer sized mediocre flavor food was an absolute waste of not only money but time. This took over an hour. And they do NOT adhere to order notes. I asked for extra chopsticks but I guess at the end of the day it didn’t matter since there was barely even enough food for one person. Shameful. Save your money and go literally any other many Korean restaurant in the area.

Only does takeout and run entirely by the couple there. This place is one of our absolute favourites and easily one of the most consistently great places to order from. I always get the Gang Jeong Box but you won’t go wrong with any of it.

I was really in the mood for fried chicken and this place opened up recently. Ordered 5 drums and 10 wings for take out. When I got home and opened it this is truly a horrifying sight. Drums the size of turkey legs and couldn't even tell what the wings were. So much batter and tasteless. I'm so disappointed and would never go here again. The dining room had 1 person sitting on a 7pm Tues night. That shows this is really not where you need to get chicken wings. Maybe they do better options but when the name is "Mad for chicken" nail the staple. Sorry won't come back again wish you all well.

Perpetually my favorite place in the neighborhood to eat.

The same folks are always waiting tables there and always friendly.

There’s light background music but I can hear folks next to me.

The lunch specials are well priced at $13 a piece and absolutely filling.

The mandoo are shockingly fresh and only cost $8.

The bao are fire. The japche is fire. Can’t go wrong with the bibimbap. The kimchi jjigae is luscious. The bulgogi jeongol is hearty. The spicy creamy udon is basically carbonara with kimchi and fried shrimp.

Extremely pleased that this is one of the last restaurants in Brooklyn that includes a freebie, in this case it’s fab kimchi with your meal. RIP chips and salsa and bread and butter. I’m so jaded.

Everything here tastes good, so pick literally anything on the menu and enjoy.

Delicious bibimbap! Especially love the flavor of the bulgogi. We’ve tried them in-store and delivery, and never disappoints when you want a healthy meal.
One of my favorite spots in Williamsburg now. Everything was great from the food to the manager working there. Would definitely go again 10/10
I put an order to pick up and the service was quick and efficient. But best of all was my order: Tofu Stew, to which I added beef. It was the warmest, heartiest, tastiest “soup” I’ve had in years. And they also add rice and really good kimchi. The portions are big! I could’ve easily share with someone. Definitely worthwhile the order and I’ll be back.

I’ve been here twice and have tried the bulgogi, kalbi bibimbap, and naengmyon. My favorite is the bulgogi, which comes on a sizzling hot plate. The bibimbap comes on a dolsot (hot stone pot) so you are able to get that crispy rice. However, the galbi was bone-in, making it hard to mix. The naengmyeon was not as thick and chewy as I am accustomed to at other places but that might just be personal preference. Out of everything, I would recommend the bulgogi or anything else on the “ssam” section of the menu. The “ssam” section is basically kbbq with the lettuce, ssam sauce, garlic slices, and jalapeño, except the meat is not cooked in front of you. Bonchon was limited to a small dish of kimchi, pickled radish, and kimchi radish.
I had the classic spicy chicken sandwich and it was top tier! The guy at the front was pretty welcoming and chill too.

OMG I’m in love!! I’m obsessed with their gangjeong - sweet and spicy Korean chicken. Chicken is crispy, saucy, sweet, and heavenly! It’s doing all the right things good chicken should do.
Their portion’s huge too. We ordered large and it came with two full boxes. It’s first time ordering from Uber eats and I’m so happy there’s a legit place serving awesome 양념치킨!

The crunchiest fried chicken I’ve ever had! The scallion chicken sandwich was probably the best chicken sandwich I’ve tasted- the sauce was so good and didn’t make the sandwich soggy, scallions added flavor and freshness, and it was huge! The regular fried chicken drumsticks were also so crunchy and so juicy, seriously amazing.

We got boneless fried chicken(that’s a small in the photo!!), kimchi fries, and salmon bomb noodles. Everything was delicious, service was so attentive, food came out quick, and ambiance was nice. Expect a more relaxed and homey environment. This place seems like owner ran(they were so lovely), and we love supporting businesses like this in the neighborhood.
The chicken sandwich is better than Chick-fil-A!
I know that’s not saying much, but it has to be said.

The crispy chicken sauce is super good.
and they still managed to keep it crunchy!

they had a few big screen TVs to watch the game as well.

9/10 would come again

This place kills. I've been here maybe 15 to 20 times, and had a lot of the dishes. The wings are amazing, and so is the rest of the menu. I live near, and I'm so glad they took over this location. 1 thing, it takes a while to get your food. But all good food is worth the wait. 🤩
Dined in for lunch. Tried tteokbboki, chicken sandwich with waffle fries and spicy chicken platter. I loved the authentic taste of tteokbboki and chicken platter. Side veggies came out with chicken platter was so refreshing and tasty. Chicken sandwich with special ranch sauce they developed was so crunch and delicious. Waffle fries came out with chicken sandwich was something you can have at a high end restaurant. I will definitely go back to try other menus they have.

At first I thought the price was steep for kimbap but they’re huge with fresh ingredients. Perfect for days when I want something filling but not greasy. Not sure if they discontinued it but janchi noodle soup was also really good.
Very tasty kimchi fried rice and chicken wings. Unlimited 2 h beer and soju for 25$. They have couple of locations, try one of them. At this location very nice service and food!
Best Korean Chicken around. Food is super Fresh. Service is excellent and food prices are relatively on average cost. Maybe not so much a dinning spot but take out is always a better idea. Give them a try. You will enjoy their sauce options and so their food...☺️☺️

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for making everything gluten free when you didn’t have to! It is absolutely delicious and as someone with Celiac, I’m so happy I got to try this style of Korean food safely. 💕
the price points made me a little reluctant to try something new as just a snack but nothing disappointed. the chicken sandwich had some hefty weight to it and the bimbimbap was absolutely covered in meat and tasty toppings. it was all well seasoned and had perfect textures top to bottom.

#CeliacReviews: Highly recommend! I was worried after seeing concerns on Find Me Gluten Free app because Kimbap Lab’s space is located next to a pizza stand. I asked the (very kind) worker if they ever share prep space, and he said never. There is a fridge with to-go items between the two stalls and I did see workers prepping KL food separately with good distance from the pizza prep space.

I tried both the bulgogi and tofu kimbap and didn’t have any reaction. What’s more, they were both out of this world delicious! I love how KL pairs the kimbap with a particular dipping sauce and banchan (ex. pickled veggies).

Note: This is located in a Whole Foods and seating is not guaranteed.

The best chicken in the city. It was so tasty and aI can tell it is made of fresh ingredients. The peep ganjeong was really good!!! Strongly recommended. We will come again.
Ordered the spicy fried chicken burger with soda and fries. Chicken and fries was amazing! Big portions so was really full after. I ordered the spicy pork galbi to go as well. Overall very tasty and fresh, albeit bit pricey for $20. They have a small counter top seating if you just want to grab a quick bite.

This restaurant was an absolute delight, and I am already looking forward to my next visit. We ordered the mandoo, tteokbokki, and kimchi tofu stew, and each dish was expertly crafted with authentic and robust flavors that left a lasting impression. The stew, in particular, was a standout dish that truly warmed the heart and left us wanting more. We also indulged in the creamy kimchi udon, which exceeded all expectations with its incredible taste and texture. The overall experience, from the ambiance to the service and food, was nothing short of perfection.

Visiting from Pittsburgh and was looking for a nice dinner spot before a show at the Brooklyn Steel on Monday. My partner and I love Korean food and found this cozy restaurant in a nice walkable area.

Staff were friendly, service was top tier, and the food and drinks were wonderful. We ordered the kimchi pajeon (pancake), fried mandu, 8 pc KFC spicy wings, and split the Samgyeopsal (unmarinated pork belly).

I'm a bit particular when it comes to food so bare in mind with my honesty:
The kimchi pancake didn't taste like the typical red spicy kimchi we're used to, and I was wondering if it was just a plain scallion pancake because it didn't have much flavor.
I couldn't tolerate the spicy wings because the chili peppers were super fresh and overwhelmingly hot (my partner devoured them), and had to order extra pickled radish but the portion was on the small side for the number of wings.
The banchan (side dishes) were good but a bit under-seasoned, and the pork belly only came with 3 medium lettuce wraps (not pictured).

I was super excited to see makgeolli (fermented rice wine) on the menu since it's a rare find, and only wished it were served in bowls rather than cups.

Dessert was toasted rice ice cream affogato (w espresso), simply magnificent.

Overall a wonderful meal and experience. I would definitely come back to try some other dishes.

I love love love this place!! One of my favorite places to eat. They have the best Kimchi Fries I've ever had! Always super crunchy and flavorful! Their hot plates are the perfect portions and always delicious!! This place is a must try if you're in the area.
I recently dined at Taste Korea 232 and was thoroughly impressed with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with traditional Korean decorations adorning the walls. The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff made me feel welcome right away.

As for the food, it was absolutely delicious. I ordered the hot stone bibimbap, which was served in a hot stone bowl and filled with perfectly cooked vegetables and meat, topped with a perfectly fried egg. The flavors were vibrant and well-balanced, and I appreciated the attention to detail in the presentation.

In addition to the bibimbap, I also tried the kimchi pancake, which was crispy and savory with just the right amount of spice. The portion sizes were generous, and I left feeling satisfied but not overly full.
Overall, I would highly recommend Taste Korea 232 to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Korean cuisine in a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The food is outstanding, the service is top-notch, and the overall experience was simply fantastic. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes!😊

One of the best recommendations during my Brooklyn trip. I came here my first and everything I had was fantastic. I had the spicy chicken tenders with the elementary level sweet and sour sauce, fries with white snow cheese, mozzarella sticks and peach Soju. I ate and went back to the hotel and slept good. I ate there my first visit and the staff there were really chill. The food and the whole vibe is the main reason I made it a point to come back.

I!!!Korean restaurant and was blown away by the amazing food and service.
The menu offered a wide range of Korean dishes, 😊
I started with the traditional Korean appetizer of kimchi, which was spicy and tangy, just as it should be. I also tried the Korean spicy wings, which was crispy and spicy ! Sooo good!
Overall, I highly recommend this Korean restaurant. The food was delicious, the ambiance was cozy, and the service was top-notch. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. The price is very friendly!!! 🥰
It’s always great when you find another spot that you can add to the food mix. We hadn’t checked out Ssam yet and decided to do a valentines lunch date. If you have a party of 2-6 you can score a special little enclosed booth for privacy and coziness.

They even have a special lunch menu which was a pleasant surprise. We started off with an appetizer of French fries (good amount - had to save some for leftover). My wife got the japchae and I opted for beef bulgogi. Since it was V day, we opted to try some cocktails too - a soju margarita and a mule.

Service was spot on and efficient. Our cocktails were good if not memorable. The fries had a pleasant flavor of sesame and fresh. My wife enjoyed her japchae and felt it was robust for a lunch item. I thoroughly enjoyed the bulgolgi with a perfect egg on top but felt it was lacking vegetables. Hot sauce helped kick it up and also a solid portion for a lunch item.

Overall we had a great time and will be back!

Bulgogi Beef Kimbap is delicious! I’ve had this twice for delivery and it’s the perfect “sushi” style meal for a quick and tasty eat. Next time I’ll try to order more Gochujang Bibimbap (Vegan) sauce because it’s sooo good, especially with the bulgogi beef.

Really the only Korean chicken place that I will come backㅠㅠ People were friendly too.

You can still pick 2 flavors of chicken when you only order half portion of chicken which I was super thankful. And even the white meat part was juicy! Not dry at all.

The bibimbap was super delicious as well! Full of veg and meat.

Best chicken I have ever had and I am not a chicken person. I had the Kimchi chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The sandwich tasted a little unfamiliar so I took the kimchi out and ate it separately. The boneless chicken are to die for!! The fries were excellent!

The location is very cozy and can be a good location to meet friends or a chill date. The price of the items are reasonable and comparable to other chicken joints.

This place has the crispiest wings coated in a rich, savory sauce and that's just the start of it. Their kimchi is delicious, as is everything they make with it - from fried rice to french fries. Relaxed social atmosphere makes this a great place for a night out with friends or even a casual date night.

Great tasting food, friendly hosts, nice atmosphere, and the tables are spaced out nicely. 10/10

The food portions are HUGE, so be careful ordering too much like we did 😅

Note: a very drunk gentleman came inside the restaurant as we were seated, asking if he could order in. The hosts were very respectfully dealing with him, while he was leaning over everything and being very loud. The hostess calmed him down, helped him order (because he insisted he needed to order, even though he wasn't in a very "aware" state), they gave him his food to go.

Later hostess apologized to us (even though we weren't bothered really, we were just observing).

Got take out one evening from here and opened the bag to some lovely surprises when I got home. Chicken was nicely packaged, they were definitely not stingy with their pickled radishes. On top of the nicely packaged order, the restaurant also gave some M&Ms 💕 Great as take out but would be even better in person, I would recommend dining in if you have never tried Mad For Chicken before.
Best breaded chicken I have ever eaten. Juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. I recommend it in a spicy and mild coating. Super delicious hot sauce. French fries with "snow cheese" are also interesting in taste. You must try Soju, I chose the plum flavor. It is a light and not too sweet (advantage) wine with an alcohol content of about 12 to 15%. Fantastic and talkative service, they will be happy to tell you about Korean dishes. The place is spacious and beautifully decorated for Christmas. I highly recommend this place to lovers of Korean chicken, but also traditional dishes such as Kimchi jigae.

It’s says $$ for price when it should be $$$ . Me and my husband had lunch there 1 drink and it was 100 bucks 😳.food was decent! My ramen was delish . Koren bbq beef was nice . My husband had the fried boneless crispy chicken which he liked . But his hot stone bibimbap was super dry and lacked flavor .
Taste of Korea 232 has the same entrance as cafe PHiL, to get to the restaurant you simply go in and turn left and go down a flight of stairs. Only take-out and delivery right now and unfortunately they don't deliver to where I live in east Brooklyn, so I went there for pickup. I order bibimbap with ground beef. The beef had a really nice flavour, and it included many different vegetables which was nice.

April 2020 - went to pickup some kimchi fries and fried soy & garlic chicken. Kimchi fries obviously got soggy by the time I got back home (45 mins) but still delicious 👌🏻. The chicken wings smelled so good the entire car ride — was still nice & crispy ❤️

Love Mad For Chicken. Haven’t dined in at this location, only the Queens one.

Very good chicken. The Korean Fried Chicken is always amazing. Wasn’t as crispy as the first time I came. The spicy soy garlic is always a fan favorite. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The wings took a little longer than expected. Nonetheless, very tasty wings! Be sure to eat them as soon as them come out!

Not bad, not excellent either. We ordered dumplings with veggies - nice, tasty, great sauce added, worth a try. Soup SUL LUNG TANG wasn’t as good as we expected. The deep broth turned out to be just water, tasted like water after meat cooking. We weren’t satisfied. Bulgog bowl was great, super tasty however we didn’t like the sauce added. What I really liked is their home made plum tea, YUM! The service is fast and very friendly.

The best kimbab I've ever had!! My friends just arrived from Korea, wanted something quick before exploring the rest of Williamsburg. Didn't expect much, assuming this was another shoddy kimbab run by amateurs, but NOPE, got an uber friendly service, awesome rolls, and got extra sauce for us to try. Would highly recommend to those who need to spice up their rice roll game. I would HIGHLY recommend tuna or bulgogi roll with vegan broth.

Went here on our way to Brooklyn Steel for a gig. A cosy place with additional seating outside. We were seated straight away, very nice server who did not overly fuss us but was very attentive to take away plates quickly etc. We had the Korean Fried chicken and it was delicious. The menu warned that it is cooked fresh so may be a longer waiting time, but ours came quickly.

Couldn't really fault this place, very good all round.

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always amazing and the service is impeccable. Very cute and cozy makes this the perfect place for a romantic dinner. Complete with a full bar, this perfect place will keep you coming back over and over again. Once you finish your meal you can take a little stroll through the park across the street to aid digestion.
