Rooms reak of Marijuana. As well as hallways. Gave us a headache. Although I'm sure some would love this. Hot Tub was cold, pool hot. Weird smell throughout. Some people got drunk and ran through the halls tearing lights off, hotel did nothing. I would recommend staying in room or tour a lot until bedtime. When everything is booked, this could be your only option, but come with nose plugs and don't swim or do hot tub. Free breakfast is okay, again, if you're in a bind and need something quick. I wouldn't recommend this place unless there is no other option.

Located at walking distance from all major attractions. Staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good but you need to be there early to get the food, because it gets crowded. Only issues I see is the parking situation and the elevators are very slow. Overall my family enjoyed our stay here and had a great time in the Christmas holidays!!

I love the location of the hotel. Close to everything but the parking garage needs to be redone. None of the parking spots give enough leeway for pulling out of the spot and as a person with a rental I was very nervous parking and driving. The rooms were fine pretty basic but nothing that would make me not stay here again. The breakfast was also basic I've had worse and better. I think they also need to redo their stairs to connect internally to every floor because their elevators take FOREVER other than check in and check out we avoided at all costs.
I would likely not stay here a full stay again..

I will start by saying that I rarely leave below 4 star reviews and will list the positives of this hotel (aka why it is a 2 star and not a 1). On the positive note this hotel provides parking and is in a central location in Gatlinburg.
Okay, now the bad. The carpet and hallways are outdated, dusty, and sticky. The room looks like it has not had a deep cleaning since the inception of the hotel. I paid $200 to stay in a “romantic” room with a hot tub and fireplace. While the fireplace was nice, the overall dirtiness of the room particularly the carpet, walls, and curtains definitely did not leave a romantic impression. The “hot tub” was more of a jacuzzi bath that didn’t really exceed lukewarm temperature and was for some reason surrounded by mirrors so you are left awkwardly staring at yourself from all angles. The bed was creaky and reverberated. The AC was as loud as a leaf blower and would go off randomly in the night and wake us up. Finally, in the morning when we got to breakfast at 10:05am instead of the cut off at 10am the person at the front desk wouldn’t even make so much of an effort as to check if there was an extra banana available for us. That would be the bare minimum I’d expect for a $200 stay.
Ultimately, I have stayed at Econolodge motels in the rural upper peninsula of Michigan that provided a better experience than this hotel. Would not recommend this place unless it undergoes a serious refresh.

The nastiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Staff was rude, check-in was a nightmare from hell. 30 min wait for elevators, parking was atrocious. Breakfast? Bring your own or go elsewhere. Rooms were mediocre, bathroom was full of mold. The 6th floor smells like weed and the rooms smell like cigarettes, paper thin walls…do not recommend. In fact, I wish I could get my money back, I was extremely disappointed.

This hotel is the perfect location for a walking vacation in Gatlinburg! The staff is friendly and helpful. While the property is older, it's well-maintained and roomy. The beds are your standard extra firm hotel mattresses so your mileage and all that. To cap it all, the views are beautiful even in late fall. I would stay here again.

This was my first time back to Gatlinburg in about 10 plus years and my husband's first visit. We could not have asked for a better location. It was close to everything. We had a room with a fireplace. We used it one night but it does not put out a lot of heat. It was more relaxing to look at. The rooms are a little older but seemed to be kept up. The parking there is not for trucks. Please be advised to only travel in cars and small SUVs. We got a call from a hotel representative to move our vehicle. We were on the line just a tad due to the small spaces. We did not mind moving the truck but the representative that called had a rude tone. Outside of that one lady and the parking, our trip was great. We plan to return next year in our car instead. Personal thank you to Cindy for assisting me with our reservations. She was awesome.

We were thrilled with our stay. It was a last minute decision to come, but well worth it. The hotel garage is a little low and people tend to park taking up too much space, but there was never an issue finding a spot. Front desk staff were very polite and helpful. Our room was clean and everything was in working order....beds were comfortable. The free breakfast had something for everyone and the dining room was kept very clean and had a nice layout so it wasn't crowded even when full. Our favorite feature was of course the indoor/outdoor heated pool with waterfalls and a slide, plus two hot tubs. The outdoor patio with the fireplace and rocking chairs were relaxing as well. It was within walking distance of the main strip too! We are definitely coming back!!!

The rooms were clean. The balcony is tiny and you could hardly open the sliding door that led to it. Not enough room for a couple chairs. And to top it off our view of the creek was skewed by a big construction site on the other side. Parking was minimal and we struggled to find a spot.

The staff was wonderful. Check in was fast and easy and everyone was so accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. Pools, Hot Tub and Sauna was great. The food at the Cafe was very good. Definitely recommend and definitely worth the money.

Stayed for 4 days, 24 hour amazing and nice services, the outside and inside pool were clean and felt amazing. The hot tub was a little crowed but because of how great it felt 😭✋. My partner and I didn’t mind this but i know some will but they don’t have everyday room service you leave your dirty stuff outside, and get new ones from the cleaning ladies as they clean. But if you run out of towels late at night you can get some from the office. No microwave in the room we had but there’s one in the lobby. There was a new lady there she was so nice the service was the best. And free wifi

Fantastic place to stay. People have said the rooms are dated, but Im not there to spend time looking at the room. But the room was super clean. Great view of the creek outside sliding door was amazing. Parking is a little eh, but not terrible. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The pools and hot tub were amazing as well. They have towels for the pool area. Close but not to close to the main drag. Walking possible but there are some serious steep walks there and back. But there is a trolley stop in front of the lodge. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back.

The staff at Sydney James Lodge went above and beyond for our family! When I had mistakenly booked a room that wouldn't have fit us very comfortably for the 5 days, they quickly resolved our issue by getting us into one of their gorgeous suites for no extra charge! I will be forever grateful! We plan on staying with them next summer when we come to visit the area again. They were amazing!

I absolutely love this hotel I am a second year, returning guest and my stay about a month ago was fantastic!! They have even impressed me once again to where I actually booked a three night stay in October for me and my hubby for our anniversary. It is so cozy. I love the fact that they had an indoor and outdoor pool. The café has delicious food and walking out on my balcony to see the bears every morning it’s just absolutely breathtaking. Don’t miss out on a perfect opportunity to enjoy pure comfort would definitely recommend.

This hotel was great. I read the reviews and looked at pictures ahead of time and I pretty much knew what to expect. Yes it’s outdated but it’s clean and well worth the money. The staff was incredibly nice especially the people who work at the poolside cafe. The only thing I was disappointed about, which wasn’t their fault at all, was the fact that another hotel was being built behind them obscuring the wonderful view there was from our room. We enjoyed it so much we’ve decided to stay there whenever we go to Gatlinburg, you can’t beat the price and kind employees. Also, this hotel has thousands of reviews but they still have a 4.3 rating for there review score, keep that in mind, that means most of there reviews are very good.

My husband booked 2 nights for holidays until 4th of july!we traveled 7hrs but our expectations was failed.
Our code didnt worked, internet didnt worked either..the couch was horrible.
We choose to lose our 300+ dollars, rather than to stay! Vacation ruined!

Overall great experience. The rooms were clean and smelled clean. The AC worked great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 3 pools and the river in the back was a great bonus.
Our balcony was very small, about the width of a person but they had a seating area by the river which made up for it. It could use new carpet, but to us this wasn't a con.
Parking was a tight. A microwave in the room would be a good edition.
We will stay again!

Great area! Thankful for such a peaceful stay and owners that keep up such a beautiful place to stay!! If you’re looking for a place to stay for a little getaway look no further.

The cabin was great! It was peaceful sitting on the deck while drinking coffee. The location was easy to get to and from places. Will definitely stay here again!

Spent a long weekend at the Lodge at Ski Mountain in January. The cabin is located close to everything in downtown Gatlinburg, but is positioned in a way that you feel like you're in the secluded mountains! The cozy fireplace isn't half bad either!
My friends and I spent some time at Anakeesta which was the icing on the cake for a relaxing weekend. Beautiful views and great food options. Could have spent the whole day hanging out up there.
Lee was a great host and made some solid recommendations on local restaurants and fun things to do. Moonshine tastings and walking around downtown followed by dinner at Cherokee Grill was so fun and delicious. Then we hit up Breakfast Camp before heading home. Be sure to allow for some nap time if you go for the giant cinnamon roll!

Incredible views, hospitable hosts, and awesome attention to details- this cabin is everything we had hoped it would be. Lots of outdoorsy activities are minutes away. The deck had Disney-esque vibes with the woodland creatures nearby. We were so close to the downtown area yet still felt secluded up the mountain at the cabin. It was the perfect mountain getaway!

Ryan the new owner and the staff was super helpful and kind. Rooms very clean. Had a home like feel. Loved how so close to the strip it was. Very convenient to everything. Looking forward to many many more stays there! Thanks. Trinity and Catie

Stayed here a year ago , do not stay here !! Was very dirty was toyed around with the rooms they take the reviews down of what really goes on with the rooms which are horrendous and I was pregnant and got bite by bed bugs had pictures to prove it and still couldn’t even get refund we were really unsafe in staying here could of lost my baby from being endangered by the bed bugs and oh there’s roaches here too .. and we ended up leaving early and they refused to give us a refund for the days we chose not to stay, it was booked under my Husbands name and we are not making a mistake I will not put my post down because this is the truth and Yous need to stop being dishonest and do what’s right and fix those rooms properly .

We had a really fun time staying at Bighorn Chalet. The proximity to Gatlinburg and especially to Ober is nice. The drive to pigeon forge isn’t bad either. The place is nice and comfortable. The views from the deck are so pretty in both the morning watching the sun rise over the mountains and in the evening as the sun sets and illuminates the mountains. The stairs can be tricky but the elevator worked so we used that when we needed to. There are doors to close the stairs off for little kids. Our host was very accommodating and helpful. The kids are already planning a return trip.

Cute cabin within 5 minutes of the Ski Lodge and 10 minutes from Downtown. Sad the hosts are bitter to negative reviews and don't upkeep the beautiful property as they should. The bedding contained stained sheets with holes in them and hair in the sheets which was extremely unsettling - although it was completely understood this was an error on the cleaning company. As well with the top sheets being extremely worn and scratchy. Hosts seemed bothered by this, even when photos were provided and a refund of the cleaning fee was requested because so & graciously accepted a partial refund because as a business owner I understand things happen out of your control. Although ensuring routine maintenance is up-kept on the property is in your control. The main back porch light overlooking the hot tub didn't work. Ashes piled on the back porch, tile grouting peeling away in the shower, and piles of junk in hidden corner next to the fireplace. Originally gave 4 stars to the hosts because I understand things happen but for the price and their responses you can enjoy the true rating of the experience. Sad because it truly is a beautiful cabin and location.
