Very, very nice 👍 nice to place to go for financing help!!!
THIS PLACE IS A VERY HELPFUL PLACE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE SEEKING HOUSING,PUBLIC ASSISTANCE AND ALSO HUNGRY THEY FEED YOU AND GIVE OUT PANTRY TOO THE COMMUNITY ITS AN AWESOME PLACE❤️🥰🙏
I first discovered POTS in 2005. I was a student at Lehman College and my English writing intensive professor told the class about this place and had the class visit and write a term paper on it. From the moment I walked in, I fell in love. I was served lunch by volunteers while taking notes. POTS serves low income and homeless individuals in the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods. People are treated with respect and dignity. People are served lunch, it's not like a regular soup kitchen. There is a pantry and in the basement there is a clothing donation room, people can use POTS address to receive their mail and the men can receive haircuts. People can also receive business attire for job interviews. The second floor, has legal services for housing and immigration issues and Case management. An excellent place with a wonderful mission. I urge everyone to visit and donate if they can.

This agency is not a good agency because I had a worst experience where I was suppose to be an intern here and the staff decided not to host me as an intern which was messed up. They had wasted my time filling out paper work and to communicate with them was bad I couldn’t even get the support and guidance that I deserve and this is how
They treated me. I deserve better than this . The director for The agency names Shauna Berry was very unprofessional and she was very RUDE and disrespectful and I also felt targeted by this woman where she made me feel very uncomfortable at times and I was not tolerating that. I advise people to not be past of this agency because they lack support and guidance and seem not to care. This agency is not for black peoples based on experience. NEVER AGAIN.

I arrived early and was the first through the doors when they opened. Still had to wait in the seated area inside just to be told to go to Bronx Works near Propsect. The security guard was helpful though.
This was my first time here at this community center! This place offers assistance in several civic issues and community services like social services, check it out.
It was not what I expected. I feared the look of judgemental eyes or not welcoming. But quiet the contrary, From the moment I arrived at the building, I was greeted with open arms, guests and staffs were all extremely kind and welcoming with an abundance of wanting to help me and guide me on the ins and outs of what POTS has to offer me and my family. It felt as though I was walking into a family gathering because of the abundance of love and respect amongst everyone. I strongly recommend anyone and everyone to cone here. They'll definitely help you during your time of need. Thank you so much for welcoming me and my family with open arms.

A hispanic worker was there outside with her and asked her “ damm thsts all we can do to help this young lady”. Thank you

I'm waiting for a call from them right now but overall I'm very happy with them they are great and very helpful in the community
Great experience with the community pantry today. I was in and out very efficiently.Very helpful people. Kid friendly environment. Pet friendly. Wheel chair accessible location. Conveniently located near mass 🚇 transit.
They're very nice respectful and it's safe to be there along with the kids too highly recommend having your kids stay there for after school.
Very nice clean place. They have a day care center for kids also.
Interesting place for children and adults. Clean and organized
My son attended "Mind Builders" in the year of 2020. At first, the staff seemed to be very patient, kind, caring, and ready to serve the children's needs. But, when my son was be bullied by another boy in his class and decided to defend himself for the first time, Ms. Desireene took my son by the arm with great force and slightly twisted it. After this incident, Ms. Desireene brought it to my attention with hopes that I would speak to my son about behavior in the classroom. When my son and I left, he apologized and said he was sorry for his behavior, not mentioning the part about the bullying due his level of fear towards Ms. Desireene. It wasn't until the pandemic, when my son was at home with me , did he explain what really happened and why he chose not to say anything. The school itself has great programs and staff members, but as long as Ms. Desireene and Ms. Brittany are the instructor for that one classroom..
I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.
Trabajan muy bien y. Ayudan a la comunidad y ofrecen muchos servicios. They do their job very well, they actually help the community and offer many services.
Very nice Park, it looks like a small park from Story Ave but its very big.
I went here to get a covid vaccine and it was fast and easy. I would definitely recommend them.
I went here to get my covid test. It's was really fast 30 mins
This service oriented facility assists individuals and families who need assistance in areas from social services, counseling, SNAP benefits and free meals which they share 6 Days a Week to the less fortunate which includes those who maybe homeless at this time so that they can have a hot meal. So if you have an opportunity to give back then head over and be a blessing.
It's at 12 p.m. or 6 a.m. but they never let you rest. they don't care
Been a member of dream yard since I was 6 it’s a great place for all ages
Love the Piano teacher Mr.Perrington!
The Guitar and voice teachers are also great! My girls love it! Price is affordable, place is clean and there is scholarship available! Great Community center...the staff is also friendly🥰
Wonderful organization if you looking for a place that cultivates your child's mind. Expands their artistic skills. Gives them confidence to perform in front of a audience.
One of the better run community programs in the entire city, extremely well organized and staffed, at the time
Building on Ft Independence seems in better shape than it was years ago
It's nice every one getting along ,but park police are hassles us today for some reason. Anyway it would be so much better if the park service clean Saturday & sunday , there's tons of garbage left from saturday you have clean up your self (sad)
Great place for kids( ground floor) and elderly home(2nd floor)
It is ashame our tax dollars allow our parks to be put in this conditions. Do you think suburban parks are in this condition. Where are the elected officials. This is there job to ensure our kids have sustainable parks.
Great people work there.
Very nice but adults need to wash their mouth since there are kids around
This housing Complex is very dirty and the playgrounds are not fit for children. The grounds keeps do not do their jobs with keeping the childrens play area clean and fit for children to enjoy during the hot summer days. Sprinklers systems are less then mediocre and the ground surrounding them are DANGEROUS. Grass, tons of tree bark and garbage are always present. Whos Running Ground operations there when it comes to keeping the grounds clean? I speak on the behalf of my Children who attends a after school program mmcc in Pelham parkway houses. Well not anymore. Thanks to NYCHA'S dirty habbits. I guess they run it like THROGGSNECK HOUSES. 👀
Currently my son is enrolled in the minis program, they meet 3 days a week after school for 330pm till 6pm. He always has a blast, the program is so diverse with visual arts, chorus, and dance. They also provide snacks and homework help. The enviorment is very clean and the staff are uber friendly. My son is a bit difficult to say the least, 6yrs old with way too much energy and they know exactly how to deal with his brand of crazy.
The area is a mixed area of many cultures, but, the overall maintenance by NYC Housing Authority as far as the pavements needs Dire attention. Door locks have to be up dated and uneven and cracked floor grounds have massive holes. Scaffolding that have been left for quite some time and drain holes have large holes on the side. If it rains the ground holes retain the water for days. What once was a nice place for kids to play became a thing of the past. But, overall the people in the community are diverse. It's what makes the area interesting.
This is a very great place because I was doing some research and I found that this place help kids to reach their goals!
Fast paced nice and clean McDonald's looks like a well managed restaurant . A+ service
Enjoy taking my kids in the am when its not to many people out there
It's okay playground, picnic area and plenty space to let your kids run freely
My four-year-old daughter is starting pre-kindergarten at the MARC Acadamy School which is in the Mount Hope Community Center. After visiting on orientation day I can tell that they have an excellent staff with varied degrees including special education degrees. The classrooms are beautiful and fully stocked with everything that a child needs to start the learning process and then graduate to kindergarden. My daughter has just completed her first day at school and came home ecstatic. She had so much fun and is already starting to learn how to write her name.

They're prone to cancelling appointments while you're in the lobby waiting. They don't answer the phones if you're calling in for information and they won't contact you if there has to be a cancellation. If you're spending money to travel here, Good Luck!

On a scale of 1-10, especially on professionalism, -100... Someone with common sense needs to revamp this place, bringing it into the 21st century of how to compassionately handle clients who walk through the door.

Everyone you encounter from the moment you step through the door, looks like they all woke-up on the wrong side of the bed.
I was in Matial Arts there and loved it.
Fairly busy, with a 30 minutes to a hour wait period ( on a good day). They can never tell you your housing status, so don't waste your time to inquire about this issue, you will be told " selection is done randomly by computer". Monday's are not a good day to visit.
Thank you an God bless you an yours always amen an can you help me find a place people in housing outrank you all who make it work
What can you say about the NYC Housing Authority. I have No Idea ??? I'm down here because the ASPCA Van is down here and I have to get my 🐈 Cat Fixed 🐾
Visited the park and it is beautiful! It's clean and it has a new playground for children. It has a path for biking or jogging.
This Man baptized one of my babies, they are adults and no smoking, no drinking, they have their respective careers and are productive people. I love them and their children very much i broke the cycle of irresponsibility with my children. They know that just because Dad messed up his life they don't have to follow suit. Thank you Higher power...
Multiple programs, good after school program, great for neighborhood
The Mayor needs to investigate, fix the maintenance system or find another job.
This is an amazing place to expand on your passion for the arts and gain more opportunities ❤️❤️the programs for students are beneficial to growing and maintaining the arts and equal opportunity for all. I recommend all my Bronx students to this place.
Respectful, peaceful environment. Easily accessible with the MTA Bx-M-Brkln 4 train.
I've been at Mindbuilders for over 7 years.I started when I was around 6 and I was nervous. However the staff and the teachers made me realize that their is nothing or be scared of.This is a place to take your kids to over the weekend.
A must for anyone who is a Bronx native. With classes for children to adults with financial aid packages and free workshops and the opportunity to volunteer, this is a haven for any and all artists or those interested in music, theater, dance, anything! Newly renovated space, great area of the Bronx, fun atmosphere and a wonderfully caring staff.
I was brought home from the hospital as a newborn to the building behind it, and grew up a block away, so I'm a little biased. But it is a great place for after school activities and parties. It also keeps the neighborhood kids out of trouble.
my younger sister use to go to mind builders in the 90's and when my daughters ages 15 & 11 showed a passion for dance I thought about this school. To my surprise it was still around and newly improved. the process was easy to enroll and the staff and dancers accepted my daughters with open arms. From this program I see a big difference in my girls: courage, self worth, take charge attitudes. my girls cant wait for this new semester to start. I highly recommend mind builders...

This place has a wonderful pre-k/daycare program. Excellent teachers. Very clean classrooms with many fun things for the kids to do and learn. And very clean. All staff are very respectful and kind. Everybody is always in such a cheerful mood. I love it. My daughter just graduated from here. I highly recommend it.
Base on my observation the neighborhood is decent. There have not been any serious crime that I am aware of, there is a lot of churches in the neighborhood so if you are a Christian looking for place to worship. This neighborhood will be great. The area is quiet decent in the winter time with less activities than in the summer time.
I started mindbuilders 32yrs ago when my children were5 n 11. My son took piano n drums n went on teach drums their under Mr Walter Granberry. My dsughter took all dance classes n went on to teach African Dance classes for 4 years. I volunteered there for 16 wonderful years We are family. Was thete when we purchesed the building thatvis ther now. You not ask for a better place for your childten to attend. The love, talent, Culture learning is phenominal. A safe enviorment.
My grandson now attends there now.
This is now Phipps Neighborhood center with plenty of activities for the youth, I really like it.

They have summer camp, afterschool programs, Saturday programs and programs to help families with snap and other things.
The phone is still not working. Cannot get through to get some very important info that I need. Not good! Please pay some attention to this issue!
My neice attends the dance school absolutely amazing the teachers work hard with encouraging students to bring forth and express their talents as well as building their confidence. Ms. Joseline, the hip-hop teacher stood out the most to me she really pushes the kids to be the best they can be. We need more programs like this for communities.
My aunt lives there and the first time she was confused so she used map's,boy she loved it but didn't know how to rate it,so now I will rate this for her! I LOVE MAP'S!
The service and people that run this Awesome center makes this an great enviorment for children of all ages and families of all sizes to enjoy.
