Fabulous example fabulous especially to senior citizens and disabled people. Very informative; they take their time and explain step by step until your understand. They give you lots of information that is useful and then some!

If you need any help i do not recommend you come to this “Community Center” a NYCHA Employee passed out today due to heat exhaustion. Before passing out he went to this so called Community Center for help or at least water but they turned him down. they didn’t unlock their doors, stared and just looked at the man. he then reached for his ID to show them he works for NYCHA but then they still ignored him. He collapsed onto the floor and fortunately had enough consciousness to call a co-worker….
They are suppose to help people in need or in distress no mater what or who the person is that’s why it’s called a community center they are suppose to be there to help and instead they just looked at him dead straight in the eyes and then looked away. those people need to be accountable for their actions coz what if that person was shot or stabbed or was just sick and needed medical attention. they are heartless so if you want to feel safe and helped don’t go there. trust me this post will save your life

It was excellent. I went there to get my taxes prepared for free. They're very good. People can call to check and see if they are eligible for free filing online.
This place is truly terrible. The workers offer zero assistance with attitudes. The summer camp kids are reckless and it’s obvious the staff members have zero control. They are great for hosting events because that seems to be all they care about. That’s the only time there’s a good time. It’s a very toxic environment. I had to remove my kid because they allow middle schoolers to smoke vapes with no consequences and one of the staff members was so rude to my child and she’s only 11. My child came home crying because the summer camp lady spoke her with so much disrespect and foul language. It’s truly a terrible toxic community center and I wish there were more community centers that actually look out for the kids and parents and not there for a check. They should just get rid of it already, it isn’t beneficial to anyone.
It can use more games and activities.
Agree with Noemi & Tolliver been in the area for 9yrs and approach this center about 3xs and they just like avoiding me to come in person even before the pandemic. They don’t help and give information on anything. So for Mr. Michael Carrantes to say he found this center so fabulous & he just moved to the area a month ago, makes me question a lot of things. I’m giving up on trying to get services or anything from this center anymore. I just tried again yesterday & can tell you was just a waste of time Again. But I’m sure they do need donations and Volunteers for their childcare and ect.. or a bilingual receptionist with experience in child care to do both. I mean really? 🤔😳

I just moved into the area and visited the Community Center for the first time —I was very impressed by the grandiosity of the building and enjoyed my visit!
Meeting place for senior citizens living nearby. Formerly 50th police precinct, unknown if there are holding cells inside.
Park needs a little tender love and care. It would be nice to see some funds invested into the park.
Was here at Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community center with colleagues during their community event. First, I will like you to know that the center wouldn't allowed anyone into the centre without a facemask on, so there is a strict COVID-19 prevention compliance rules and Facemask mandatory policy for the center.
You will also need to register at the reception, while your body temperature will be monitored and recorded before you proceed. The center do this for everyone that comes into the center.
The Center serves as indoor games center for the residents and young people around the neighborhood. There is a Basketball 🏀 court large enough for international and national event. The center have other facilities for games, exercises etc.
The facility have a CBO who is incharge if the center, they provide mentorship and counseling to the kids and young people around the neighborhood. Yes, you can access Free mask and other prevention commodities.

It's like the community is being held hostage by poor living conditions. The working, elderly, disabled families as well as children don't deserve these living conditions. NYCHA NEEDS TO DO BETTER.

The elevators here are always broken. You will be lucky if there is 1 out of the 3 running. The floors be filthy. The compactor is locked so they keep large garbage bags on each floor and they usually overflowing. They do not keep up the maintenance in this development.
Horrible, the elevators barely work, the building is dirty, garbage everywhere. They always leave the snow infront of the building and all the garbage. Staircases are disgusting. And they take forever to repair anything in the apartment. Even when its detrimental to the renters!!!!! Would never live here. I feel so bad for my best friend. Tool them 2 years to fix a leak in someone else's apartment that was damaging the wall in hers.
i dont stop in as often, as i have grown older and the younger generation has been blessed with this center - they have impacted the community for years, they truly stand for our community, our block radius. memories dont die, so i use to shoot hoops and party back then. today i see kids getting tutored and mentored - truly a generational blessing

I don't like it. I was there for do my taxes, ppl not professional.
Went there to volunteer at their food pantry and loved it. Even though I did struggle to get inside of the building itself instead of putting us to work straight away they gave us some insight about the place as well as a tour. The pantry was messy but fixed in the end and we got to take a few items from it with us. Great place and offers a lot of programs for its community.
I go to Justice Sonia Sotomayor Community center once a week for hip hop dance classes. They offer plenty of recreation n classes. But I go for the hip hop dance classes once a week from 7pm-9pm

This center is always open to new membership. You should take advantage of the offerings they have. IT'S FREE! Taxes, GED CLASSES, OSHA Certification, SNAP application, MICROSOFT CERTIFICATION and more! It can't hurt to try, but it can if you don't!

Not an ounce of care goes into this place until inspections begin. Elevators are out of service more often than usual, the buildings have become infested with unwanted creatures swarming all over the place. The woes and cries of the people fall on deaf ears. If it's not one thing, it's another and you soon realize it's a cycle you can't do much about. Don't even think about getting comfortable here - you're not supposed to, but you won't even be able to have that option anyways.

Excellent community center for the elderly and adolescents. Many programs offered. You must call for details. Parking is tricky as this facility does not have parking. You must park in the streets and be careful not to park on the wing side of the streets, so read your road signs please.
This facility is widely used by residents and community members. The floor has serious water damage and it is affecting the basketball teams during practices. How can a place named and dedicated to a Supreme Court Justice look so unsuperior? Everyone knows this is the projects and it won't get fixed anytime soon. Prove us wrong.
Edenwald Community Center is a community oriented center that provide various services as well as a youth outreach center. They also provide every Second Tuesday of the month a food pantry for those who are on a government assistance program.

My friend lives there and I absolutely hate it. it seems like there’s no maintenance smells like urine throughout the whole project even within the buildings and the elevators never work

I attended a Mother's day celebration with my senior center at Sonia Sotomayor Center. They provided us with entertainment, which I and some other seniors participated in, they raffled off some gifts, and they fed us a delicious lunch. There were also several kiosks with information for us. I was able to get my blood pressure taken, and I also had a fabulous hand massage. This was a wonderful way to get my Mother's Day weekend started.
Great place for the community! They always have activities for kids, teenagers and young adults. They also host important events such as job fairs.
They are doing great work for the community, Including Dfoy for youth, William Hodson Senior Center for seniors, and other organizations helping the community. Nice to see so many advocates like Mr. Benard Smith.
They have great people wonderful services to help you With they try to assist you by any means necessary they don't like not being able to help I recommend this place

Very very very big housing complex accessible to the highway very easily be careful though a very very severe serious rodent problem other than that cool calm and collective as much as can be expected located in the
