Absolutely worth it! The building itself is amazing with a stunning interior design. If you are an art enthusiast, then the art work here is a must! Great collection of paintings from the best art pieces throughout the centuries. Highly recommended.

The V&A museum is an absolutely breathtaking place that truly captures the essence of culture. Its stunning architecture and impressive collection make it an ideal destination for anyone looking to immerse themselves in art and history. I must say, the museum's food options and proximity to public transportation truly enhance the overall experience. The beauty of this place cannot be fully captured in the pictures attached to this review. It is a truly stunning museum that must be experienced in person to be fully appreciated.

It's a must-visit with a diverse art collection. Plan for a leisurely two hours, please beginning with classical paintings, then go to Turner's room, and concluding with modern art section.

Awesome place. Lots of things to learn from and be part of the history which we never will be able to experience personally. The museum is located very close to underground. Loads to learn and explore from. The details are intriguing not only for children but anyone who’s interested in learning a bit about our planet and its inhabitants. A must place to visit.
It is the most excellent museum. There are so many exciting portraits to view. History at your fingertips. The staff is so friendly and professional. The most important thing. It's all free to see. It's truly one of Londons best deals.
I spent a lot of time in the Fashion exhibit, and paid the extra 20 for the DIVA! show. Well worth it. Also went up to the nearly people-free 4th floor for the beautiful ceramics on display there. Visited the furniture section as well. Pick a few topics and concentrate on enjoying those, you can't do this museum justice in a day.
It is a beautiful place full of precious pieces of art. And best of all, it’s free. It is very worthwhile for you to book a shift, or just over 4 hours to be able to enjoy everything that the National Gallery has to offer. Don’t pass quickly, but admire each painting, every story and every room, because yes, the building is a masterpiece apart.

What a treat!! A wonderful collection.
This was a great opportunity to see amazing works for free. I love this concept. We're students and often skip museums because of the cost. There was a reasonable amount of people and we didn't experience long lines.

Really beautiful collection of artwork that you can see completely for free!! Including some of the most famous pieces from Monet, Van Gogh, Manet etc. The quality of art is exquisite and there are some very compelling pieces. I would recommend to everyone. The building itself is also stunning

The Victoria and Albert Museum is truly a majestic, marvelous, and luxurious gem in the world of museums. From its captivating exhibits to the opulent architecture, every corner exudes a sense of grandeur. A must-visit for those seeking a refined cultural experience!

Tate Britain is a must-visit, in my opinion. It houses some incredibly beautiful pieces of art. The museum offers free exploration, with payment required only for certain temporary exhibitions. It's entirely up to you which to explore. Personally, I opted for the free tour since I arrived at the Tate late in the evening and had limited time before the doors closed at 6 pm.
Outstanding way to spend a few hours in enjoying masterpieces throughout British history. Located in a beautiful building in a nice area just adds to the enjoyable experience. The museum docents were super helpful. A must see for art lovers..... Cheers

Closer to Natural History Museum. It's FREE and an amazing place to visit once. Jewellery history, the cast workshop, iron and silver collection are amazing. I spent more than three hours without any hiccups and the overall time went well with lots of new things to see and learn. It's a great museum for art lovers and also the option to visit a variety of paid exhibitions.

Stunning, unique, atmospheric - there aren't enough superlatives. A true oasis of time travel in London. Beautiful antique furnishings & décor; candlelight & homeliness, including fire-warmth and smells. A must for lovers of history, interiors, architecture.

Brilliant Museum with brilliant collections . There are so much to see. Enjoyed every minute of it. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Good location about 7/8 minutes waking distance from South Kensington station with disable access and clean toilet facilities. Also the Museum have a nice garden and cafe where you can have food and spend a quality time. And it’s free. 10 out of 10.

Holy cow. If you love history and enjoy a fully immersive experience of a home from 18th-19th century, you MUST come here. There are so many things to experience in London, but this hidden gem is definitely one of them.
The National Gallery is an amazing place! It's right at Trafalgar Square and definitely worth visiting, just like the Square itself. Both spots are really great to see! The National Gallery started in 1824 and has lots of old and amazing art. It's a really cool place to visit because you can see famous paintings from many different times. It's also easy for people in wheelchairs to go around and see everything, so everyone can enjoy the art there.
Absolutely loved it the perfect Christmas experience ! Every room was fascinating with an amazing collection of things from that period in time. The lighting by candlelight and the fires in every room added to the atmosphere and authentic smell of an old property. What a hidden gem and labour of love-pure theatre . No one rushed us and visitors are staggered so it was just us in every room rather than a group.

I had a great time during my first visit to the Tate Britain. The building is simply stunning and the exhibitions are very interesting with a variety of artworks on display. This art gallery is a must-visit for art lovers in London. The staff are friendly, there is no entrance fee, and it is located in a great area.

Intensely atmospheric even down to the authentic sooty smokey whiffs from the only form of heating in the whole house - solid fuel burning in all the key rooms. The decor is entirely genuine in look & feel. One can indeed imagine how life must have been lived 200-300 years ago. But the cream of the experience was the excellent rendering of the story of the house & it’s inhabitants over the centuries. Joel was an accomplished scene setter & story teller!

I mean, you kind of know what you're getting into when it comes to London's great collection of art. You'll find art from each period over the last 500 years, names you'll recognize both big and small.
Plan to spend at least an hour, and try to avoid a busy time if you can as it does get crowded. If you are going during a busy period, then definitely buy tickets in advance.

This museum is right next to the National History Museum so plan accordingly. This is a beautiful museum featuring many displays from Asian derived to other European items. All items are displayed wells and with appropriate decorative style befitting the time period. Overall, this is a very well stocked museum with many interesting items. Good experience.
Just in for a quick visit while in the area and was blown away. The architecture of the galleries is fantastic, and still has a great selection of modern pieces, as well as a deep dive into older British art. Had a quick nibble in the cafe as well, which was good if a little noisy due to the acoustics

The most beautiful (and prized) Ophelia painting is worth a visit just to admire this beauty in real life. There are several rotational exhibits too, showcasing the best of latest artists. The main shop is cute and decorated for Christmas, so it's a good time to drop in!

One of the world's leading museums. After a massive remodeling of the property, we now have an incredible and accessible museum for all ages and groups.
Spread over several floors, there activities for all ages and abilities.
The staff and volunteers are brilliant at explaining and guiding visitors around the exhibitions. We visited while the Holocaust exhibition was running and that explained with great care about the content and age appropriate of the exhibit.
There are a ton of interactive exhibits, with the new collections for the first, second world wars being a stand out.
Credit must also go to the work and effort explaining the Irish troubles and good Friday agreement.
The surrounding park is also a great thing if you need to let little people expand some energy beforehand.
My only gripe would be some of the prices in the Cafe, but again a great team and brilliant layout.

This is a must go see. Great for all the family to learn some history. The guides there are happy to chat and explain exhibits. Free to get in. You can make donations if you wish. You will be checked by security. But dont worry, they were fast efficient and friendly. My advice, take your own food and drink. The cafe is very expensive and truth be told, I wasn't happy with the service this time. I've visited this museum at least 3 times now. I will go back again. Enjoy

If you like this, you'll love the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds which is very impressive. It has a number of shows on throughout the day and is well worth a visit.

Great museum about the history of London's canals, it also covers the ice trade and the wildlife etc along the canals. The displays have plenty of information and there was an old film on show of passing through London in the past on a barge. It also covered in a lot of detail the horses who were used to pull the barges along the canals until small tractors were introduced.
Calm, welcoming, fascinating visually engaging. Not stuffy nor 'precious' eg it's OK to sit in the chairs and quietly absorb the ambiance.
Absolutely brilliant place to visit, all really well set out with lots of information to absorb past conflicts, partnered with equipment and armaments of that particular period. I really recommend visiting this place but ensure you write off a minimum of 3 hours
This is a lovely place to hang out. Very welcoming and the staff are helpful and friendly. The library is a good place to study. If you can't get membership, there's a reading room with comfy seating for anyone to use. There are always interesting exhibitions too.
Fascinating. Unique. Maximalist. There is nowhere quite like Dennis Servers’ house! It’s part museum, part art gallery and part interactive experience. It’s the history of one man’s life and passion. A mixture of period pieces, flea market bargains and original pieces of art. The house itself is amazing and a rare chance to experience what life must have been like for the Huguenots who lived in the area. But the arrangement of so many different and unusual things creates an otherworldly environment like no other. Enhanced with aromas and soundscapes you momentarily forget about the outside world. The staff are very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly and make the whole experience unforgettable.

Tate Modern probably gets most of the headlines, but this gallery is probably one of our favourite places for art in London. The Turner collection alone makes this museum a must-visit for Art lovers in London. The staff are friendly, and the museum shop is world class. Did I mention that the art collection here is fantastic?? Well worth a visit to get a great panoramic view of British art through the centuries.

Hidden gem in London. A few minutes walk from King's Cross, Granary Square and Coal Drops Yards.
As well as the canal mueseum they also offer different canal boat trips on selected days throughout the week. Tickets are only available to book online.

Guildhall Art Gallery is a venue representing the history of art and the history of London. It is a fantastic venue to visit and often overlooked.
I highly recommend going there. You can view permanent free exhibits and run temporary exhibitions.
Until 12th November, you can view the ‘400 Exhibition’ curated and installed by The Worshipful Company of Gold and Silver Wyre Drawers.
This is a celebration of the company’s 400-year jubilee.
You will see a fantastic selection of craftsmanship of embroiders, artists, designers and jewellers running through history, with works shown for the first time to the public.
Ticket price varies from £10 and below. If you wish to book a private tour for a small individual or a larger group, please get in touch.

Only had an hour and only got to see the First World War exhibit which was great but the lighting used makes it a little hard to see things and some items are placed quite a long way from the description, meaning it's not always intuitive to read about what you're seeing. The lockers need £1 coins and work well but didn't seem to be that many (forgot my pound at the end, too!!😭). Lots of school kids so quite hard to read (great that they're being exposed to it but adds a hustle and bustle environment to the museum experience). You also do not need to follow the time on the website as they told me on arrival- it's a hold over from COVID and they now ignore it. So a few things could be better there (update the website?!). Still, friendly staff and great exhibits, lots to learn, even for those who think they know a fair bit about the periods on display.

Extremely satisfying to be able to access so much historical material. My advice is to visit in 2 days so you can see everything in your leisure time, at least 3 hours. Be prepared to walk a lot and take your water bottle.

I agree this is a charming place, with important history. It’s crying out for investment and needs to be supported. Considering the massive energy and development monies that have poured into the Kings X area recently it’s heartbreaking that the same companies haven’t helped this great museum. With so many more people living and working in the area it’s an asset for them, as well as tourists, and really should be treasured. We had a great time, there are adorable models, a life size boat to go in, 3 excellent old films upstairs, and interactive elements. The boat trips weren’t on when we went (a Sat) but reading other reviews that’s a great offer too. Also note it’s very dark in the entrance and looked shut but wasn’t! Open till 4:30pm in fact on Saturdays.

The National Gallery in London is huge, has extraordinary priceless paintings, ample seating, lovely architecture and admission is free to everyone. Of course, it merits 5 stars.

Gorgeously- presented plethora of famous works. The architecture alone is worth going! Entrance is free but on weekends in the summer you might want to make a reservation. Handicap-accessible.
The art collection at The National Gallery is tremendous. We enjoyed the works of Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, and many other brilliant artists. There was a short wait outside, as we didn't make advanced reservations. If you plan your visit, you can save time with a free reservation. Some of the most famous paintings will be quite crowded, so you will need to be prepared to take a quick picture as the queue moves.
It’s not the most polished or organised of museums, but therein lies its charm. There's a gift shop, a narrow boat inside the museum, an ice well and information about the ice cream magnate Carlo Gatti. If you’re in the area, take a quick tour, and you might learn something new! It's a short walk from the Kings Cross regenerated
Definitely my favourite gallery in London so far. It's always quiet and peaceful. The staff is helpful and welcoming, the little shop has lovely postcards and you can find many helpful guides to London historical sites just at the entrance. The gallery is full of stunning art pieces, all worth attention and it has available many little benches to relax and think. Added plus is the Roman Amphitheatre, which is treat to see in person. Just the comparison of what is considered huge for ancient times in comparison to present London is an amazing historical lesson for us all.

I was only there for the London Roman Amphitheatre. The Gallery promises and is a lot for those who are into art and have the time to visit it. It opens at 10 am, it is free, but an appointment helps. And a guided tour in the Amphitheatre is more than recommended.

Established in the late 19th century it has a mainly Victorian collection of large paintings alongside some interesting ones showing ordinary people doing everyday things under various themes, with a number of choice Pre-Raphaelite items (be aware some are on loan right now Aug 2023 to Tate Britain eg Rossetti exhibition). Currently there's an interesting look at Wrens work best known for St Paul's with his sketches and a big 3D model showing the structure of the famous iconic dome. Wow.
The wide-ranging collection of some 4,500 works- over 1,300 oil paintings, date from 1670 to now with some great choices down the stairs towards the Roman Ampitheatre - yep they found the remains of one in their basement when rebuilding after bombing/fire in WW2: so cool! You can even see preserved wood drainage in parts!
Particularly strong in Victorian items, including some Biblical scenes, the collection also houses important ceremonial and topographical paintings.

Amazing place. I used to go here a lot as a child. I went back with my Dad a good 40 odd years later. Wow! The museum is incredible. I saw it very differently as an adult. They have done so much work on it. I found it absorbing and fascinating. I'm amazed it's free entry. There is a lift to every level, which was fantastic for my 79 year old Dad as he was able to see all the exhibits. The gift shop is beautiful and the cafe does beautiful food and the coffee was lovely. Gifts and food/drink are a bit pricey. However, when you weigh up the overall experience that you get for free, it's a small price to pay. Highly recommended
What a beautiful place! A lot of historical and interesting paintings there. Lovely architecture too, both for its exterior and interior. The queue was quite long because it is so popular, in the morning I had to wait in the line for approximately 10 minutes before we can get in to the gallery. It is free as well. Easily one of the most place to go in London.

Free admission. Spent nice couple hours here. Beautiful Victorian paintings, I also enjoyed seeing different interpretations of artists paintings of London. The large scale paintings are also stunning! In the basement there’s the Roman amphitheater, very interesting historical site.
This small museum has not only the story of England's canals. There is also the story if ice storage in pre-fridge days, and even a bit about ice-creams. But the canal story is obviously the most important here and there is some history of canal building, of canals as transport routes and the competition from railways and roads, and later canals used for leisure. The information given is clear and avoids the temptation of giving too much details.
Students may find free WiFi (eduroam) however you will not find free electricity. All plugs in the library are covered with locked plates. Its a bit funny really…

Whimsical design and colorful artistic expression! Absolutely lovely and brings joy to the spirit to roam through this surprisingly fantastic museum!
UCL open day, seemed a bit disorganised compared to other universities. Math is a really popular subject, but only had a quarter of a class room available to meet the tutors and students which was totally over crowded, The Students give excellent insight into uni life and work load
One of a kind experience which I would not trade for a regular museum visit. Entering the house, I became witness to the “still life drama”, absolutely beautiful displays of historical objects and fruit, left there as if the past owner just left the house. The smell and hearing were integral to the experience, which usually is just sight-based. The house felt absolutely genuine and pre-industrial, it felt like entering the pictures of Vermeer and Old Masters. Definitely worth the prize. I participated in the Silent Walk and found the experience particularly soothing, especially of the warm air, candlelight, and the smell of candles.
Cannot recommend it for people with movement disabilities or poor vision, as the interiors get pretty dark at times and the floor is uneven.

I loved the collection of Victorian art most, but the temporary exhibitions are quite interesting too. Of course, the Roman amphitheater was exciting as well and it is worth visiting the nearby Roman Fort and City Wall.

Fabulous museum - thoughtfully laid out and very interesting, lots of exhibits to touch and interact with (the kids loved poking about in the canal boat) and the nicest staff you could imagine. I highly recommend booking the canal boat trip too - we got to go through the Islington Tunnel on Regent’s Canal and learnt so much from the wonderful guide Daniel, and the kids absolutely loved being taught to open the lock gates. Wish we’d had more time - highly recommend a visit!
I've visited on multiple occasions. It's a really nice place to visit and the reading room is a nice place to study. It's exceptionally busy during the school holidays and as it's not the biggest museum, it quickly reaches full capacity. Would still recommend it, especially when there are new exhibitions.

Really enjoyed the tour of the art museum. So many thoughtfully put together pieces. The booth reminded me of Dr Who and I wonder if maybe the writers maybe based the Tardis on this.

Superb art destination which is gloriously over the top, creative, moving, funny, scary and spiritual all at the same time. I could spend a whole day in this house and garden, admiring the mosaics, sculptures, dolls and images which cover the walls, floors and ceilings in a riot of colour and texture. Absolutely brilliant and completely unique.
Open days take place once a month here. It’s a really quirky and moving place to visit. So much to see! Stephen Wright the artist is very generous with his time to talk you through the museum.
Full of surprises
We absolutely loved the experience. Stephen and his partner Michael made us feel welcomed from the start and showed us around, giving valuable insights into the art pieces in the house. The house itself has a lot of character and soul, and it definitely won't leave you indifferent. I'd definitely go there again! Thank you so much Stephen and Michael!

one week ago and have to say it was a really positive experience. You get a visual overload but in a nice way and there is so much to see although the museum is not huge. Stephen and his partner Michael are really friendly and take the time to welcome you and talk to you about the house and about their lives in general. It makes it a personal and very special visit into their universe. Highly Recommended.

What a beautiful library in London !

As a dentist, it was interesting that i found really old dental chair there. Perhaps, the oldest dental chair i ever met. The library room is large enough to accomodate all visitors. There are a lot of books about sciences.

The information on Google said open until 5pm. I went all the way there to find a note pinned to the door. Closed until 13th September.
Very interesting, beautiful and wonderful. It was amazing to see Stephen’s life and the journey he’s been on portrayed through his mosaics and the art all over his house, his story is very sad, but the fact that he managed to take that sadness and make it into this gorgeous art is truly very inspirational. If you go, you should stay to watch the video, as it will explain everything and it will all start to make sense.

Go to the reading room!! It’s so beautiful and filled with amazing books! HOWEVER- you can’t use plugs in the entire building so be aware of that. It’s a quirky museum with some weird and wonderful things

It's like walking into the mind of the artist and seeing all of his thoughts all at once, it's overwhelming at times but always in an awesome way that keeps you constantly intrigued.
The artist and his partner are very welcoming hosts who have as much interest in the visitors as the visitors have in the house.
