All we wanted was a fun golf day with our friends, and the attendants would not leave us alone. We reserved two tee times, one for a group of 3 and one for a group of 2. The attendants stalked us around the course and continued to “explain the rules” that we couldn’t play 5 even though we were playing in two groups. The stalking messed with our game, and they were extremely rude when we continued to explain that we were playing by their rules. We heard the customer service at this course was terrible, but never expected this level of rudeness. I’m sure they’ll be pleased to know we won’t be back.
I think the course is sneaky good. Very walkable. Conditioning is what you expect. Some very get able holes. Some very difficult holes. You're squarely in the city. Sometimes it feels like that, some times it does not.
What if you’re a kid and you don’t play golf but you do PLAY? There’s a spot for you too at the Clifton Golf course. A brand new family friendly playground was installed just a few weeks ago and it’s a cool spot for families to take a break and enjoy some shade and a swing.
Excellent course. Starters are on their game so mind your Ps and Qs. Rangers patrol hard. This is by far the most strict of the classic five. But good with me. Be strict. Keeps the play going. Great course.

Very unprofessional staff. Told us we had until 7:30 pm to return the carts for a late tee time. After we went out someone drove to us and said the return time was 7pm now. Then the staff kept showing up to rush us, and kept standing next to us as we played. There was enough time and no one behind us. Felt like we had chaperones.
Really solid course for the price. Fairways were narrow. But forgiving. The rough was thick. Lot of challenging bunkers and rocks, but was a worthwhile course for the price. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
Best value in the local golfing area. Regulation sized 18 hole course that you can play on a weekend for under 40$ to ride with an advantage card. The conditions are not the best in the area but the people that work there are friendly and do a great job.
We are tourists visiting from Australia and decided to give Clifton Park golf course try. Just for some background, we are both on golf Australia’s magazines top 100 rankings. Panel and have played over 300 different courses so we have seen a lot of different facilities. We were absolutely wonderfully surprised at how good Clifton Park golf course could be. Plenty of elevation changes and challenging side hill lies along with really good greens considering it is a local Muni. Some interesting T-shirts that really make you think about club choice and where to land the ball. For $48 it is incredibly good value for a really good facility right in the heart of Baltimore. To add to the experience the Pro Shop and starter were really wonderful to deal with and despite some bad reviews from five years ago we had a very pleasant afternoon and got around well under four hours on a Thursday. We have paid a lot more and got a lot less from other golf courses and would happily play here again. Holly recommend that you play a game here remembering that it is a municipal facility and. Don’t expect it to be presented like Augusta the week of The Masters.

Solid course with interesting layout. The nines are very different. One pretty tight. The other more open. Greens had grass but were slow. Tee boxes were decent and fairways good. Overall worth playing especially for the price
I love the Classic 5 and this is one of the ones I play the most. Staff are all friendly and do a good job. The course is always in as good a condition, if not better, than one can expect an inner city muni to be. Its a great old school layout. Short with a lot of doglegs and elevation change. Some really fun par threes especially holes 14 and 15. Its a really pretty course with wildlife and great views of the city. I could see the whole key bridge area from the green on 17. anyway, cool course and nice folks.
I love this course. I can bust out 9 walking in about an hour and a half usually. It used to be 18, then 11 i think but is now a fun little executive nine hole course with 7 par 4s and 2 par 3s. Its well kept for an inner city muni and the staff is really nice. And the price is right. WHATS UP MRS L?!?
You could potentially get robbed at the 18th and 17th holes. Otherwise, it's a great inner-city course. Be prepared to use your clubs as weapons and keep a close eye on your golf cart.

Played when it was cold and windy. Everything was well taken care of. Employees were nice and the food was good at the turn. Will definitely be back
Have fun with some friends and my son. His first time actually on a course after spending a week at Golf Camp with Top Golf.
Nice staff and course. Played both tracks. Great deal for the money. Used rental clubs, staff could have at least kept the clubs clean between players and sets were missing clubs or had to be sorted out between stiff and regular shafts. Overall good experience for travlers.
Great spot...attended a baby shower here and everything was phenomenal.
I had a great time at this please. Inexpensive and not crowded. I played solo on a day after a rain, and there were number of puddles on the cart path. Other than that, it was ok.
This is such a convenient location and their staff is really excellent. The crew we had for Sunday. 10/22/23 around 11am were so accommodating about our last minute walk-up request. Highly recommend if you're looking to do a quick 9.
Great condition! Challenging course. Wonderful practice greens for putting and chipping. My father golfed here in the 1960s. Congratulations on the fine up keeping of this golf course. Thank you for enjoyable memories!
The staff was friendly and helpful. The course has a lot of potential. Great place for a beginner player to learn. But learn golf ediquitte first. Played behind a group that had a new player with a 54 handicap. The rest of their group had finished 18 and we were still in #6 behind this group. We skipped two holes and finished the back nine in about an hour and 15 minutes. Wish the ranger had been out and about.
The course is set in a neat location with some hills and flat areas. The greens had plenty of grass , could have been cut closer to speed up the roll. All in all I enjoyed my outing and would play here again.

Pleasantly surprised. Great place for a municipal city course. Very well run. A few things out of sorts on the course but all in all very impressed, especially with the greens... they were very well maintained. Course is neither too short or too long, and there was enough variety to keep things interesting. Will be coming back no doubt.

Pace was terribly slow for twilight . We started 540pm and barely got 8 holes in before 745 cart return by the Marshall. Course was poor at best. Go to clifton instead
Very poor playing conditions cart paths are in very poor condition grass in the fairways are high enough that the balls are hard to find. The course looks like at one time may have been great Staff was friendly which makes up the difference
This was totally unexpected. Beautiful land unshaved with a golf course and about 10 very nice tennis courts at the Clifton Mansion. Great for a day like today.
A well maintained golf course with it's challenges. Great scenery
Pretty nice, affordable track in the middle of the city. The course is pretty short, even from the blue tees, but there isn’t much trouble and the greens are in good condition. It’s usually not too busy either. Very walkable.
I didn't golf but ai did enjoy biking around, visiting different areas, sculptures and gardens that during the golf course. Great views of the city and very peaceful.

I had not played Forest Park in over 10 yrs and I was pleasantly surprised by the the changes to the course. The greens could've been cut and rolled to improve the pace but this does not take away from the overall experience which was excellent. More importantly the pro shop and food services was fantastic for our group of 16 golfers. Member of the Tri-State Hackers.
Usually you can show up as a walk on.... Nice short course you can knock out in about 90 minutes if your not waiting.... Mostly shorter par 4s.
Great Golf Course, I was very impressed how well maintained this place was. The Greens rolled great. I will come back multiple times for sure. Pro shop had everything we needed. Once the cart paths are fixed this place will be on its way. 🏌🏽‍♂️💯
Diamond Ridge is a great public course. The course was in beautiful condition, and the greens were perfect. We didn’t get a chance to try the food, but the other services were excellent.
Designed by a Scotsman born in Troon, I really enjoy trips to Forest Park. Friendly staff, organized, you always get a round in 4 hours. Big: I frequently fill out myfoursome with nice folks. terrific 1934 design with a couple very ordinary holes, but a majority of challenging, vexing, but fair golf holes worthy of a fun day & in decent shape .
We got in 15 holes before the rain started. Then our play become sloppy. The course was in amazing shape and the course employees were awesome hosts for our STEAM Golf tourney.
I wouldnt go here at night & I have honestly never played golf here, but I live near by so my husband & I take our dog here every weekend for a long walk on the pretty grounds. It's well landscaped & if you go to the end of the golf course, near the Harford Rd & Erdman Ave intersection, there is a GORGEOUS garden with stone walkways, gazebos, stone patios, & TONS of beautiful flowers!! There are picnic tables to eat there & a few water fountains for those hot days!

2024 update: First time there this year. Range and practice facilities look to be in decent shape. Looks like maybe some of last year's range mats are still around. Range balls look new. Course looked like it was in good shape from afar.

Original post:
Not sure what some of the severely negative reviews are really for. Its $17 to walk 18 during twilight (w/ advantage card) so its not exactly expensive. Course has been in better condition each year over the last few years and is in great shape so far this year. Diamond Ridge is long (for some) but requires a bit of course management to play it well. Certainly a great "home" course if you live nearby and like to play a couple times a week in twilight hours. Facilities are also pretty well kept with putting and chipping greens and a decent driving range (though a bit short for 3 woods and drivers without endangering groups on the 11th hole). Only gripe would be pin placements some weeks being directly on top of a ridge or 3 feet off the fringe directly behind a sand trap with no real angle of attack regardless of where your approach shot is coming from.
Very underrated public course in Baltimore County MD. Course in excellent shape. Classic layout (lots of doglegs). Fairly open, so good for beginners. Great practice facility. Great clubhouse. Pace a play can be slow on weekends, but it's a public course. Only complaint is inconsistent sand in the bunkers. Some fluffy white, some sandy brown. Great if that could be fixed. But, highly recommended for the price.

Beautiful little 9 hole golf course, hidden in the middle of the city. Well maintained great staff. .... 18 hole Foot golf course , AFGA certified, only footgolf course in the city..
The five stars is for the footgolf course. It is 18 holes and pretty awesome. The only sanctioned course in Maryland! If you like soccer or looking for something to do the is low impact with easy entry you should give footgolf a whirl!
