AMAZING FLAVOR 👏 🤩 SIZE IS FILLING! 🥣 The Pho is great BUT the Bun Bo Hue IS THE BEST! If you like more flavor and the thicker fatter beef 😆 Prices are good for nyc 👍 I would recommend completely. Location in UES is good and in UWS is more fancy.

Had the best Banh Mi of my LIFE here - it was sesame beef with cilantro, lots of veggies, and delicious sauce. It was fantastic, super flavorful, and tasted so fresh!

Decided to try this place out during my lunch break. I ordered a rice bowl with beef and spring rolls along with a drink. The total was $25 which was a bit pricey for a lunch portion. Being that I was on a time crunch I decided to order and return to work and eat. While eating I noticed a long black piece of hair in my food and another piece embedded in the spring roll. I called to request a refund and they asked me to text them a picture of the hair. The lady continues to say it is impossible for it to be their hair because everyone has hair nets and there are no women working in the kitchen. (I have red hair so it definitely couldn’t be mine) She then said the only way I could get a refund is if I return the food. So I rushed back to get the refund and as I arrive she immediately has a nasty attitude. She then says she can refund me the $25 but I would have to pay for the drink again??? I refused to give this place any more money and told her I would not be paying and the right thing would be to refund me everything or at least refund me for the food. She ended up taking the half empty drink back and refunded me the total. And said “next time she won’t do this”. There will absolutely never be a next time because I will never eat here again. This place is disgusting and the service is horrible. A good business owner would apologize for serving food with hair in it rather than arguing with their customers and demanding more money. Not once did I get an apology or any effort to make the situation right.

Everything was so great!! The crispy pork belly was yummy the skin was still crispy and the meat wasn’t hard to chew at all Crab fried rice was also yummy and don’t forget to take some chili and fish sauce and eat together ** if you order 1 entre they give you 1 app for FREE!!** how about that?!?! Give it a try guys

The food was very delicious. Portion sizes were good. It was a busy Friday night but we were seated right away even without reservations. The servers were nice and attentive. The music and ambiance were good. And the food didn’t take long to come either. Would definitely recommend and we’ll be coming back!

We came for a co-workers bday party and had a great time. The food was great, and the vibes were even better. Would definitely go again.

Food was very fresh and tasty. I had the spiced calamari & chicken wings with crispy garlic, both were very flavorful & enjoyable portions. Enough to be shared amongst 3 people & Still be able to enjoy your meal! Atmosphere is very welcoming & Service was amazing. Very attentive & super nice. Overall 10/10!

The service here is incredible, all the staffs were so friendly and always caring. I particularly love the chicken cashew, this is one of the best I’ve tasted in New York. I saw the table next to us have their birthday and the staff gave them free mango sticky rice shots too, so nice!

Pho with chicken was filling and perfect for a cold day 🍜 Summer rolls were smaller than expected, but scratched the itch. Good sauces all around. Good service. My one complaint is the music. It’s very loud - couldn’t have a conversation.

Decent pho, but prices could be better. Also, I ordered what qualified for their "special" but the guy didn't tell me and I didn't see the special on the menu until the food was served, so I wasted $5.

Stopped in for a birthday late lunch. Food was fresh and really delicious. It came out quickly. The staff was super attentive and friendly. The drinks were also really good.

The classic banh mis and summer rolls here are fantastic. This place makes some of the best banh mis that I've come across, and they're quite large and not too expensive. They also have hoisin sauce and sriracha for dressing (no sweet chili sauce here unfortunately). The summer rolls are very mint-forward, which I enjoyed but it's not typical for them to be so minty.

Came across this hole in the wall which was packed with people waiting for their lunch orders. The staff was very friendly and patient even when it was so busy. We ordered a bunch of stuff for take out. There are a few seats along the wall and window but it is so busy during lunch time that it is impossible to get a seat. The smells coming from the kitchen were pretty authentic. Portions are generous. The pho was delicious, the broth was flavoursome, the chicken tasted charcoal grilled, juicy, tender and boneless. The soup was placed in a separate container to the pho👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼I prefer extra herbs in my pho but it was still delicious as it was. Everything we ordered was so tasty. Dry pho needs extra fish sauce for my liking. Have yet to try the banh mi but I’m sure it will taste just as good as the pho. Great find! Fantastic food! Can’t wait to go back again!

I had been thinking that all Vietnam restaurants in the city give little food untill I visited Pho Shop. Expect generous amount of beef, noodle, and vegetables. They are short of staff so service can be slow. I received my vegitable plate minutes after they serviced Pho King when the soup had already cooled down.

Ordered the bun Bo hue and grilled pork chop banh mi.
The Bun Bo Hue came out hot and fresh. The broth was packed with tangy and spicy flavors, and not overly oily like other restaurants. The noodle/broth ratio was just right and cooked to the perfect texture along with the beef briskets. One of the best bun Bo hue’s in NYC.
The banh mi was also very good, the bread was the perfect crispiness on the outside but soft enough on the inside.
Also a plus that they have a lunch menu everyday from 11am-4pm!
Overall a very good meal, waiters were quick and accommodating and the restaurant is clean and a modern yet traditional ambiance.

A hidden Gem! This restaurant is a few blocks from our hotel, needless to say I’m glad we made the choice to dine here. The service here is excellent, fast and clean! The atmosphere is also fantastic. My mother and I have a shellfish allergy, which was able to be accommodated. Instead of having shrimp in our rice and Phad Thai we were able to substitute for chicken which did not take away from the flavor at all. In addition, our server and manager Wen, mentioned the happy hour specials so my mother ordered the black berry mojito which was sweetly refreshing. We frequently travel to NYC and this gem has been added to our favorites list. Can’t wait to come back.

Service (2/5): Super under staffed with only 2 wait staff for all the tables. Several of the tables needed to be cleared off when we arrived and guests were flagging them down to get checks paid.
Bun Bo Hue (Famous Beef Pho) (2/5): The bowl looks huge but the portions were actually manageable to chow down on. There wasn't as much noodle as I thought there would be. The portion of the meat was appropriate for the price point; some meat pieces were tender while others were of lower grade. The broth was savory but not the best I've ever had.

Im just getting on the Pho train. The Pho Shop’s Curry Seafood Pho is absolutely delicious. Loaded with fresh seafood. Shrimp, calamari, fish & mussels. The broth is hearty & flavorful. It comes with all the toppings; jalapeños, basil, sprouts ! I also had an order of shrimp & pork dumplings. Everything was tasty. They are understaffed. So be prepared for a wait but their staff is kind & attentive as possible.

Great local spot in the west village. It's small spot but the food is really good. The service is prompt. We were able to get a table fairly quickly. But it can be tight. Not good for larger crowds but party if 2 to 5 ok. We had classic bah-mi sandwich it totally worth it. Also spring rolls and two phos the classic and Saigon shack one.

Great food and fantastic prices. I came here at lunch time on Saturday, a decent queue outside but they are taking everyone’s parties down. I was solo and seated at the bar after about 10-20 minutes of waiting. Food was excellent, and good value it is easy to see why there was a queue outside. Other parties that arrived after me would have had to wait 30+ minutes for a table. Staff were very busy but attentive and friendly.

Very popular, we had to line up outside to get a spot. I was happy with the grilled pork chop, shrimp, and spring roll vermicelli bowl I ordered. The pork chop in particular was really flavourful. Good portion size, and definitely good value by Manhattan standards. Note that they accept cash and not card (although looking through the reviews, it sounds like it's also possible to pay via QR code? we paid cash).

Pretty good pho. Not the best I’ve had, definitely not the worst. The portion was a little small (I ended up getting a full 2nd bowl). Food came out in under 3 minutes so if you’re hungry and in a rush this is your spot.

This is not an easy to spot restaurant. We happened to remember this place while we were craving for Vietnamese food. It is small with limited seating so we ordered takeout. The chicken was a little tough, pork chop was delicious although the meat without bone was a little tough. Tofu was good too, we added mushrooms to it, they didn’t say but we believe they charge 3 extra dollars for the mushrooms. The rice and veggies in general are good. We like their fish sauce. Overall it’s a decent place, and we may try their noodle soup next time

Great food! Service was great and the price point was well worth it! Definitely recommend getting the short rib with your pho. It becomes well worth it. Autumn roll is good if you love peanuts. A little heavy on the peanuts. The ribeye was so good and well-flavoured. Highly recommend mixing rice onto the dish and eating it hot so the steak doesn't cook well-done and the yolk is still runny. Pho is so good with the broth from short ribs being slow-cooked in that broth. Espresso martini is really good, a nice kick but so good you can't taste the vodka at all. Would highly recommend!

The Pho is perfectly prepared, the meat still pinkish, the broth (I asked for extra hot) is well made, light but tasty. I prefer the Pho than the Tet noodle (crab, shrimp garlic noodles) it's a bit too rich and filling. The spring rolls exceptional fresh ❤️

Wow, found a gem of an authentic Vietnamese restaurant in the west village, and wish I tried this place sooner! Ordered the grilled chicken over rice and it was really good. My viet gf said it tastes exactly as it does in Vietnam and I devoured it. It was juicy thigh dark meat and marinated and grilled to perfection. My gf ordered the Bun Bo hue and really liked it a well. The fresh coconut and creme brulee dessert rounded out a wonderful meal and we will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious. Get the Tet Noodles! They are more expensive than everything on the menu ($28) but WORTH IT! They have this chard taste which is so delicious with the creamy sauce.

Seriously some of the best pho I have ever had. Ordered on Uber eats with pretty neutral expectations and ended up being blown away. Got the Rice Noodle Beef Broth (Pho Grill) with grilled beef and a Vietnamese iced coffee, both of which were incredibly tasty and satisfying. I never leave reviews but this was too good not to say something about. Will be my go to pho spot from now on

It wasn’t the best tasting Vietnamese food. I would say I was one of the worst I tried in the US. Soups supposed to be hot not warm. Especially if it contains raw meet that needs to be cooked. I also didn’t like the taste.
So, I decided not to tip at all. I strongly believe it’s a 100% personal decision whether to tip or not. Again, I decided NOT TO. But the waiter or manager( I have no idea who the guy was) told me they will charge me 18% anyway. I was VERY surprised of his impudence and asked him not to. But, he told me again and this time very aggressively that they will charge me 18% extra and right after that started speaking his native language to other workers. Most likely about me.
P.S. You’re already making good money on selling just food. In addition, your ingredients are cheap. So, don’t complain please.

The food was delicious and most of it well-cooked. The rice noodles were flavourful and honestly probably the most delicious ones I have had. However, they sticked together which ruined the experience a bit but do not let that put you off from trying that restaurant out.
The staff was friendly and welcoming and personally I would eat there again.

Saigon Shack is one of the anchors of MacDougal Street, perhaps the most eccentric yet endearing street in NYC.
I came in here fresh off getting served an L by another job application, so needed a quality bowl of pho to ease the pain. Maybe they are reading these google reviews and think I’m unhinged ahahahahahaha.
The exterior is not what I would expect from a Vietnamese restaurant as you are met with a yellow and white striped canopy, something a tasteful or ostentatious French restaurant would have. The difference between tasteful and ostentatious is a microscopic line.

Service was quick but the place was really busy - we sat at the bar and the food was fast. You can pay in cash with the waitresses or use the QR code and pay directly.
Grilled Lemongrass Chicken, Shrimps & Fried Spring Rolls was good - chicken a bit dry though.
The spicy short ribs were super flavourful - it’s quite fatty though so be forewarned

The pho was great, one pork and the other chicken. The broth was quality with plenty of depth. The fried rice was excellent as well. Would easily go back as the prices were decent for what you get.

Ordered the Madame Pho w/ short ribs and Goi Cuon (Summer roll).
First the pho, it was on the better side of Pho I had in NYC, but missing that special taste I am searching for.
It tasted well prepared and made but didn’t have the depth of flavor in the broth.
The noodles were slightly over cooked for personal liking. I prefer al dente for my noodles.

i ordered their bun bo hue. the dish came out hot and fresh. the broth had a delicious, savory, tangy, spicy flavor (but the spice is not over the top). the noodles were also cooked to perfection (bun bo hue noodles are slightly thicker than pho noodles and have a slightly bouncier texture). the beef was also tender and extremely rich/flavorful. with the fresh garnishes (basil, lime, jalapeños, etc) the dish is perfectly rounded out. i’d recommend checking them out!

Listen up, foodies! I just had the most amazing spicy short rib pho and it was nothing less than perfect. But be warned, you gotta bring some cash to chow down on this beauty. Trust me though, it's worth every penny. Don't hesitate - go try it for yourself and thank me later!

Just average if you ask me. I ordered the spicy pho. It was that lemon juice broth that was slightly sweet. The beef cuts were of the poor quality kind.not too appetizing. The restaurant is still in covid mode with tables stacked around the cash register.

The food was really good and flavorful. Good portion for a reasonable price :) Each meal is around 10-20 bucks, so be prepared when you do come. 2nd time coming I went to eat there & their pho was huge they were generous with the noodles and the beef in the pho if your a big eater this is perfect for you! I also reccomend getting the chicken bahn mi! $14.25 for beef pho. Best to share with someone haha

Pretty good food - liked the pork spring rolls and the pho broth was alright. Nice amount of rare steak in the pho portion and the meat is tender (not too thick or thin), but would prefer a more savory flavor in the broth.

Super friendly waiters, and delicious dishes! Plus, their jukebox is pretty much cool that we enjoyed it a lot. I will definitely come here again and strongly recommend it in East Village!

Nice authentic pho with sliced beef. The broth taste just right. Went back a second time for banh mi and drinks. Definitely loved the traditional pork version with freshly toasted baguette. The viet coffee also hits the spot perfectly!

We usually order from this place about three to fours times a month for takeout. There are several Vietnamese places within walking system, but we come here the most.
We rarely eat out. The images we took are an after thought after we have started eating. As you see the noodle soup is mostly done.
The calamari is a to salty. The beef and the spring roll (not shown here) is excellent.
We rarely eat out. The images we took are an after thought after we have started eating. As you see the noodle soup is mostly done.
The calamari is a to salty. The beef and the spring roll (not shown here) is excellent.

Food has a good flavor and portions are good. Prices are reasonable as well for the portion you're getting. They also offer a few Viet drinks. My reason for 4 star rating is due to the service. The place only had about 10 people total and that included us a party of 3. So we felt they could have been more attentive. No one came by to ask if we needed anything more the whole time we were there.
Plus we ordered some summer shrimp rolls for appetizers and the waitress forgot them. We had to remind her after we were served our main course. Oh yeah, trying to find parking is really difficult around this area and when you do find a parking spot, then it becomes expenses meter parking as well.
