Great place to eat. For special occasions and events. There are private rooms.
Food is superb. Everything we ordered was delicious. I can tell they use very quality ingredients.
Praws from Denia were spectacular. Almost 15€ each.
Lubina a la sal exquisite 👌 ✨️
Staff is very kind and helpful.
I really recommend it.
Simple restaurant but excellent food and top Service at a reasonable price.

Good local food, decent house wine and a friendly welcome. We especially liked the Esgarrat. In a small quiet square not far from the Central Market and the Cathedral

Great place for Tapas. Centre of the old town with a vibrant atmosphere. Book ahead to avoid queuing. Thus is a very popular restaurant

If you would like to try the best paella in Valencia you have to reserve! 😅 but you won’t regret the choice. We went for the menu of 3 appetizers, 1 paella and 1 desert to share. Price was fair we spent 86 euros for 3 people but we also had some alcoholic beverages. Service was si friendly, nice and professional.

A restaurant in that category should be way more friendly. We got a maindish (merluza) without any vegetables or sidedishes. The prices for e.g the gambas are just too high. We liked the atmosphere, the variety of wines and the desserts.

I loved everything about La Mar. The atmosphere was friendly without being overbearing, and quiet without being awkward.
The food was incredible with the paella being the star of the show.
There was only one person serving and one person in the kitchen - but you don’t mind waiting when the food is that good!

I gave it 1 star because the food we ordered was okay but the service was terrible and would not warrant even 1 star. We stumbled upon this place and asked for a table for 3. We waited about 15 minutes which was fine but as soon as we sat down and were given the menu were asked to order. The waiter refused to speak English, went on in Spanish which sounded to me either we order now or we have to get out. So frantically we ordered chicken wings and mussels, which were okay but not great. The servers were rude and acted almost like they are so annoyed by us tourists. The 2 Spanish-speaking ladies sitting next to us, however, seem to be treated normally. I'm very surprised because this place is situated right in the heart of tourist attractions so one would think they'd be more welcoming. I am normally a good tipper but in this case I was reluctant to leave a tip.

I chose the restaurant because wanted to try the grilled lobster. The service was ok, but took long to place the order and get it, even though the restaurant was not that busy. The lobster had too much butter and this took from the flavour

Great atmosphere, polite staff, very delicious food. We tried Valenciana paella and seafood paella, both were great.
Make a reservation before you go, there is a chance to be full.

Had a pleasant experience at this restaurant! Stumbled upon it during the siesta on a weekend, and despite the long wait due to a bustling crowd, the food, especially the paella and rice with vegetables and fish, was ok. The staff’s friendliness added to the positive atmosphere. Though slightly overpriced, the overall experience made it worthwhile.

Overall: an acceptable experience. It was chilly, I folded my coat and placed it on a chair before sitting down outside. No one noticed that. Later on, I saw customers had been provided blankets. I ordered canellonnes and a glass of wine. In terms of cooking, lovely service. I asked for my bill, in cash. 17.50. I gave a 20 euro bill plus 2.50 euros. I was returned 2.5 euros. To sum up: attention to customers plus honesty.
Very disappointing experience. The restaurant failed on all points: service, food quality, menu options, and even hygiene. I do not recommend it at all.

We were visiting Valencia wanting to experience paella and arroces (rice dishes).

The bad experience started when we booked the place, when the restaurant warned us we needed to select only one paella for the whole table to order in advance. We can understand that the paella needs time to be prepared and thus require ordering in advance, but when we arrived to the restaurant, we still needed to wait 45 minutes for the paella to be served, so what was the point of ordering it in advance?
Second problem is with the fact that you cannot select more than one choice of paella per table if your group is less than 8 people (which most parties are). We wanted to try at least 2 paellas / arroces between 4 people (to suit different tastebuds and restrictions), but that was not possible because of that.

Now we would be OK with all those rules if at least the paellas/arroces were worth it, which they were not. Portions were very small (the layer of rice was really thin), not enough for the amount of people present. Taste was OK, nothing extraordinary.

One guest at the table who couldn’t eat from the one kind paella we were allowed to order asked for the beef cut. It came over-seasoned (extremely salty, you can see the salt in the photo), and with barely any garnish (two green beans and a few slices of potatoes). For the 24€ the meat dish costs, a bit of garnish and sauce wouldn’t have been too much.

Seeing the small portions, we asked for a basket of bread to accompany the dishes, but the waiter brought us a piece of baked garlic bread which, even though very good, was not what we requested and was charged 5€ sneakily.

The service was really mediocre, even though the restaurant was full of waiters (there were more waiters than customers), we were not well taken care of. We had to wait to be sat at a table, to get the menu, and to pass our order. It felt like the waiting staff was completely disorganised.

The ladies’ restrooms had no soap and no hand towels nor dryer, which is alarming about the hygiene of both female employees and customers. The baby high chairs were also stored inside the restrooms, which is highly unhygienic.

One last point about having electronic tablets as menus: it is a bad idea. Not practical, no added value, and not environmentally friendly. Just get normal paper menus, it’s better, cheaper, and better looking.

We had a good meal at Navarro.

We ordered the fish soup to start - was watery and light. Normally are used to it being creamier.

We preordered the Valencian Paella for 2. Included snails, rabbit and chicken. It was very good. However none of the dishes really stood out as being excellent.

I think there are better restaurants to visit when in Valencia

The best paella ever I had! The Valenciana Paella is a little bit sticky, I like it though! You need a reservation for sure. We also ordered the baby squid with ink and the tomato salad as a starter. Valencia tomato is incredibly big! You should try it once! Also the baby squid with ink:)

We had an amazing lunch at Canela. 100% recommended!
Dined on New Year’s Eve, when the chef was featuring a special tasting menu (at 2x the price of the standard tasting menu). While the experience was fine, I’d rate Riff as average against its 1* Michelin peer group.

Menu - both food and wine - has some Germanic influences (eg, a sauerkraut side, lots of bread) while the wine list is heavily drawn from Germany and Austria, with some Spanish selections thrown into the mix. Wine pairing was quite pricey, and I noted that few of the dozen or so tables were going that route. We had a 14 year-old bottle of Riesling, which was outstanding.

Dishes were hit and miss. I thought the spaghetti with oysters and caviar were outstanding. The raw truffles on bread, raw shaved mushrooms with risotto, and coffee ice cream with pumpkin didn’t work for me. Also found risotto and spaghetti as back to back courses to be unusual. Combined with the numerous breads brought to the table, this is a carb intensive menu. Many of the dishes (especially the proteins) were oversalted while the risotto was bland.

Presentation wasn’t notable, and clearly underwhelming vs Riff’s Michelin peer group. Several dishes arrived cool to borderline cold.

My water and wine glasses were left empty for extended periods (10 minutes) without being refilled. I asked for the check twice, and it still wasn’t being delivered until I got up and approached one of the servers for what would be my third ask of La Quenta, por favor. That was a bubble buster to cap off the evening.

Chef’s New Year’s eve celebration (countdown with grapes, champagne toast) was fun and memorable.

Value wasn’t there for me. Given the numerous service hiccups, I wouldn’t return if in Valencia again.

Sangria- cute presentation and great taste. 10/10
Mussels- lots of garlic and delicious sauce. 9/10
Garlic shrimp- rather small shrimp but great taste. 9/10
Grilled squid- just lightly salted. Would have liked more of a char or seasoning. 8/10
Cheese ravioli- grease but not overwhelming cheese taste and pairs well with the mushrooms. 9/10
We ordered a toasted garlic bread and calamari as appetizers. It was delicious! We also got the Valencian Paella, which was amazing as well. For dessert we tried three. One chocolate, one cake and one orange. All three were good. The service was very good. Their staff is friendly. The location is convenient. It’s located near the city of arts and sciences. Be sure to make a reservation Highly recommend this place.

I found a little bit of meat in my fat! Although it was supposed to be pork. Also found a shard of metal, probably from a metal sponge. People walking here are taught a hard lesson: to first look at Google Reviews before grabbing a seat.

Lovely gem of a place during our stay in Valencia. The staff, whom I reckon is the owner, was so warm and welcoming. Advising us on what to order and how she will separate the servings to make it easier for me and my wife to dine in harmony. The food was the best that we have tasted in a week in Spain and we would love to visit the restaurant again!
It's a busy place, and there aren't too many tables, so it's worth booking in advance, especially for larger groups, but if you're lucky you can find a few empty seats. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere, the service is very friendly and helpful. The menu is creative and the selection is wide. It's worth trying a variety of dishes, and this is especially true for tapas. Our personal favorites were Steak tartare and Foie with mackerel. These are both amazingly delicious and exciting. The Chatsu toast honestly looked more special on the menu than it tasted, and the same goes for the Shredded beef taco. During our visits, we also tasted the Seafood paella and the Iberian secret fideuà. Both were too salty for our taste, but otherwise tasty, so definitely worth trying. They would have been perfect with less salt. We tasted a Valencian orange ice cream for dessert, and on the recommendation of our server we had a local dry white wine with the meal, and both were extremely delicious and special. All in all, we were very satisfied, and would love to come back again.

Great looking restaurant with excellent service. The food is full of taste and looks gorgeous.
They can also speak english very well yet is also loved by locals. So don’t worry about it being a tourist trap.

We had to move to another table because there was a group of four coming which wasn’t a problem, but we did get free dessert as a thank you for switching tables.

Price/value is also on point!

La paella de mariscos es deliciosa! We were lucky enough to grab a table for two right after they opened without a reservation, but reservations are a must if you want to make sure you get a table.

The staff is super friendly and attentive and the atmosphere is great. One of the best pellas we have had!
Great restaurant, delicious and a great service.
Had a special menu
Fum style salad: 8/10
Sirloin steak tartar: 9.5/10 (just the brioche bread too sweet)
Smoked Octopus: 8/10
Tuna loin Tataki: 10/10
Angus ribs: 10/10 (perfect)
Dessert: 8/10
Wine: Matsu, great recommendation from the personnel. 9/10

A superb showcase of fish cookery. Exceptionally fresh produce that was shown to its best. The chef clearly knows what he is doing and it is very refreshing to have a fish-forward menu in this way.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is a slight detractor. The lighting is very bright and,the furniture and fittings are looking quite tired and in need of a refresh. If you are looking for somewhere for a romantic meal, this would not be the place.
The dessert was also not great. It was local mango and was very underripe and hard. The kitchen really should not have allowed that in a restaurant of this quality.
Amazing! Would recommend the menu with wine pairing

Must go if you want to taste a real paella from Valencia in town. Two incredible ladies will receive you at the restaurant, very professional and multi language speaking. Refined atmosphere and much room on the table to have your meal comfortably. Honest prices! However I felt that something was wrong with the service and it seems to me not efficiently organized, we had to remind them to bring our appetizer, in the traditional paella there are broad been not mentioned in the menu (you should because broad bean allergy is fatal)! And you should provide some tools to eat snails in the paella. Generally speaking, a place to go but don’t forget to book one earlier, both a table and a traditional paella.
We had a lovely dinner at fum de Llum. The entrees and dessert were phenomal, especially the croquetettes. The paella was also good but a bit too salty for our taste. But we see it as just a small mistake which can happen. The services was also very quick and friendly. We would definitely come back here!

It's strange to see such polarized reviews. I didn't have any high expectations, we ended up in this reastaurant by chance as we were hungry and the place we came to have lunch in nearby was closed. We were pleasantly surprised by the food - it was the best seafood paella I've eaten in Valencia and the Sangria was great, too - proper wine, a lot of fruits and water without gas - it was truely perfect.
The service was not great, but wasn't that terrible as depicted - it was ok. They spoke English and we didn't have any issues paying by card. They added 5 euro for 2 beers that we haven't ordered to our bill, but when we pointed this out, they returned those 5 euros to us.
I'd go again for the food and Sangria though - they were worth it :)

We enjoyed a late lunch here as it was situated just behind our apartment adjacent to the regal Torres de Quart. Our server was jovial and smiled often and the food was delicious ! We highly recommend.

We got to know the reef through a recommendation. We are extremely happy to have followed this recommendation. Refined creations from the first to the last course with an excellent wine accompaniment. We felt welcome and the service was attentive, friendly without being intrusive. The Chef de Cuisine, Bernd Knöller came to the table several times, sometimes explaining the courses or enquiring whether everything was to our satisfaction. We were completely satisfied.

We were there for my b-day
It is a nice restaurant with very good and fast service. We tried the "apicius menu". Unfortunately we expected much more from the food. It wasn't bad but the flavors weren't exceptional. We think it is too expensive for what is offered, but of course it is a very personal opinion.

The sign outside displayed a menu (starter, main, desert and drink) for €14.90. I sat down and the waiter brought me a menu on which the price was €19.90. So, €5 more. The waiter explained that the menu displayed was
for lunch only. Then why do you leave it outside after lunch? To lure customers with prices that are not valid? So, we got of on a bad start. The appetizer was good, but small. The seafood paella was burned and hardly had any fish visiable. When it was time for desert, the waiter brought me a menu with six choices. But only one of them was included in the menu. Order another desert, and you will be paying extra. When I came to paying the bill, they told me that they had an issue with the card machine and wanted cash. By now, I had read the other reviews on Google and told them that the possibility of card payment was clearly displayed on their front door and I didn't have any cash. Within a minute the problem with the card machine was fixed and I could pay by card. After I had displayed my displeasure, they didn't have the nerve to put a service charge on my bill.

They had only one person working at the bar on a Saturday at lunch time. I had to wait way too long for a bier :/
On the plus side, the bier was cold and it was nice to drink it outside while seeing the animal being fed.
Ordered a dish and wrong order came. When I asked to swap they said I have to pay extra. The dish was disgusting and manager was very rude. DO NOT RECOMMEND. They wouldn’t accommodate it and did not give refund or alternative food even though they made the order wrong.

A very busy spot in a great central location. I had 5 paellas in 3 days in Valencia and this was the best one. Every bite was so filled with seafood which was not the case in the others I tried, seriously it was FULL! It was also deliciously flavourful with perfectly cooked rice. Special shout out to the white sangria which was so refreshing and some of the most tasty I’ve had!
The worst food we ever had. Pasta without any taste, not even salty. Salad different from the menu. And pasta with ketchup as children food. And very expensive. 3 meals for 60 Euros.

My wife and I have just had one of the best restaurant experiences of our lives at Lienzo. Outstanding in every regard - a beautiful restaurant with incredible staff and above all else a truly exceptional Chef whose food was singing with passion and creative flare. We had the 14 courses all of which were delicious with my personal stand outs being the Pork with valencian bread, the beef with mushrooms and the squid in dashi sauce with squid ink tuille. The squid was one of the best plates I’ve ever tasted. Could not recommend more highly. Thanks so much
Visited with a friend as staying nearby. Friendly welcome from waitress and seated outside. Ordered bottle of house wine, very reasonable at €15.80, and a zero coke, starters, mushroom croquettes, anchoas del cantabrico (anchovies) chorizos a la sidra (chorizos in cider) solomillo (sirloin steak) cooked to perfection, and paella for two to share, and a tarta de chocolate (chocolate cake). All our food was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed, hopefully be able to return before we leave......
Have managed a return visit here, before going home, we sat inside as tables full outside, ordered mushroom croquettes, patatas bravas with blue cheese as starters, then solomillo with fries, and a 1/2 la mar salad, a chuleton (ribeye) with fries, which comes with a hot plate to cook your steak to your own taste, again all our food was delicious, its a luvly wee place inside, again thoroughly enjoyed our return visit, gracias. :) :)
We only went once. So maybe this was an unhappy accident.

The short version:
Overly stylized and forced presentation without a consistent level of quality and many un-tasty and poorly seasoned dishes. Served in a location that gives the feel of a cantina, not a pleasant dinner ambiance.

The long version:

Location :
Small place, very bright white walls and ceiling, without any interior design worth mentioning. The spotlights shine In the customers eyes and are unpleasantly bright.
There is no space separation, and since it is a small room, almost void of furniture, the sound carries and you can hear every tables conversation, every scraping of the cutlery.

The service :
Very friendly staff, they all know their monologues describing the dishes. They speak foreign languages (English, French) reasonably well and are welcoming and open to a short conversation or questions about the dishes.
The staff is fine there is no issue here.

The food:
We went for the 14 course tasting menu 'lienzo'.

Unfortunately we did not like it, here is why:
The dishes were for the most part dainty and well presented.
There are some installations, especially from the 5 snacks you get in the beginning that are overly dramatic, like the fake corral tree stumps In which lienzo serves 2 puffed potatoes as an amuse bouche.
This pattern continues throughout the whole menu, the looks and presentation far outweigh the quality and culinary ingenuity.
There were 3 dishes in particular that were badly prepared and had an unpleasant taste. Most other dishes were underseasoned.

The last meat dish, a preparation of beef or veal (it was a little tough to be veal), with a demi glace (they say, but it seemed to me to be a reduced pan sauce) was bland. Lacking salt and the sauce was too thin and had a slight metallic tang that was overwhelming.

The paper thin sliced dried wild mushroom served with it was unpleasantly chewy - maybe a thicker cut slice would offer more of the experience the staff wanted us to experience, namely: "the animals are raised nearby and ecologically. These mushrooms are part of their diet, so we serve them as a side."

Understanding that a tasting menu is just that, and at a low cost as it is with lienzo's 14 course menu (110 € p. P. ) there is not much room for portion size, I cannot help but think, that maybe the focus should not be on the presentation and over engineering of 'pretty plates' but in the first line on the dishes themselves.

The squid dish in dashi, reinforced with garlic and ginger, topped with a squid ink tuille was nice.

It was not necessarily new or never seen before, but it was one of the few plates that had a working concept. The texture of the tuille contrasting the well prepared soft squid, the dashi was balanced and it was seasoned well.

Alright, we did it.

Some last thoughts:

As this was our first experience we are not definitive in our judgment.
Anyone can have a bad day, especially when you need to be as precise as michelin star level quality demands.

This time however you completely missed the target with almost all of the dishes.

Maybe consider what I wrote, focus on the dish first, then plate it.

We whish you bonne chance in your further journey towards great cuisine.
Fum de LLum in Valencia proved to be a culinary experience that left a lasting impression. With great food, friendly service, and a cozy ambiance, it's a restaurant worth visiting.

One of the highlights of dining at Fum de LLum is the option to choose from a full menu or à la carte selections. Regardless of your choice, you can expect flavorful dishes with generous portions. The food was undeniably good, satisfying the appetite and leaving us content.

In particular, the paella at Fum de LLum surpassed our expectations. It was better than what we had experienced in other restaurants, showcasing the expertise and skill of the kitchen. The flavors were well-balanced, and the quality of ingredients was evident in every bite.

Both the starters and desserts were delightful. Fum de LLum certainly knows how to create appetizing and satisfying dishes.

The waiter attending to our table was friendly and provided attentive service. However, there was a minor hiccup during our visit. The waiter enthusiastically recommended a starter and dessert from the menu, but unfortunately, they were already sold out. It would have been better if the waiter had known in advance and informed us, avoiding the disappointment of not being able to try the items we were looking forward to.

In summary, Fum de LLum offers a great dining experience with delicious food, including noteworthy paella, tasty starters, and delightful desserts. The friendly service adds to the overall enjoyment of the meal. While there was a slight oversight with the availability of menu items, it doesn't diminish the overall positive impression of the restaurant. Fum de LLum is definitely worth a visit for those seeking a memorable culinary adventure in Valencia. Also you have to reserve in advance.
We had a tasting menu at Riff. The food was incredible. The chef has a real inspiring mind. The service was absolutely great. We also had a wine pairing with the menu. The sommelier knows what she is doing. Definitely recommend eating here if you want your mind blown.

There were 4 of us— 2 adults, 2 young children. We ordered their vegetable paella, chicken tenders and fries for the kids, and the oyster mushrooms with cabrales. Honestly, everything was so good and the staff were all friendly too. Jose was amazing and he was very accommodating with our two kids as well. I will be dreaming about the paella and the oyster mushrooms until the next time I’m back in Valencia.
Exzellent! Super Service und sehr sehr gutes Essen. Als Starter Toast mit glaciertem Iberico Schwein und Garnelen Kroketten. Beides wunderbar.
I would not recommend this restaurant under any circumstances. I was denied a paella order because I was alone. They didn't even ask if I would like to order the large portion for two for myself. There was something discriminatory about it. The fish dish, which I then wanted to order from the menu, was not available. The cod I then ordered was almost cold. There was no freshly tapped beer, only beer from the bottle and instead of the ordered gastric flavors they served camomile tea. All in all, the disappointment and therefore not a cent tip.
Nice special offer with oysters and cava, tasty black paella with shrimps and interesting tiramisu with Baileys. Place to come back for paellas and arroces.

We had a wonderful experience at La Prinicpal. The food was amazing, cozy atmosphere and we were the only tourists there. It is an authentic restaurant! A little bit more on the pricy side but it was worth it. Our waiter Diego was super friendly and made our experience 10x better. 10/10 would recommend!
Honestly this place blew my mind. I came with high expectations and I can only tell you that every single one of them was easily surpassed.
I loved the restaurant, so minimalistic, elegant and just beautiful. The waiters do such a terrific work walking you through the different courses, the ambiance is so nice.
The food? No words. The creativity and yet simplicity of each dish, their sustainability concept, the fresh local, delicious ingredients.. I loved every single thing I was served in my Lienzo menu, the recommended wine choices were also downright terrific. Conclusion: a MUST visit when in Valencia!

Great place. The food was super solid and we totally loved the service. They agreed to switch our son's meal from surprise to "known"main after it proved a bit too much for mildly adventures 13 years old  The only recommendation would be doing something different about the decor. It is a bit too "main stream". Other than that - very much recommended!
We enjoyed lunch in this restaurant while visiting the beautiful Oceanogràfic. We liked the food and the service.

Lovely restaurant with 3 tasting menu options. The staff was very accomodating and the food was really enjoyable. They focus on fresh produce and cook it to perfection. The seabass we had was particularly well executed.

It is also important to mention that the price quality ratio is outstanding.

After lunch we really wanted crema catalana, the Spanish dessert similar to crème brûlée. Debates will rage on as to which is better but I love them both. So s quick Google search of who had the crema catalana and we were off to El Rall. It’s just a few minutes from either the cathedral or the central market.

At first they wanted to only seat us if we were having lunch but that was easily resolved. And I’m glad. This was maybe the best crema catalana I have ever eaten. Good coffee to go along with it and friendly waiters.

Jan 17 update: we went back today with friends who were in town and did the full lunch. Excellent paella, especially the Valenciana which had lots of socorrat which we enjoy. And again, great service from Matej !

A must visit for crema catalana in Valencia. And their paella didn’t look bad either!

My boyfriend and I enjoyed an excellent dinner in this lovely restaurant. The food was outstanding, the wines complimented the food perfectly, the interior was spacious and the service was very friendly. Every dish was beautifully presented and we loved every bite of it. And yeah, I'm always happy when a meal starts off with an oyster. The dessert with asparagus ice cream was a pleasant surprise. Very tasty.

We ordered the seven courses meal which turned out to be more than enough. I'm not sure I would find room to try the menu's with more courses.

The waiter took care in speaking Spanish slowly, so we could brush up on our Spanish, but he switched to English without problem if we didn't understand something. What a lovely gesture!
Excellent Restaurant !
The food was excellent and the waitress even spoke french !!
Literally, the best experience ever!!!
14 dishes set, amazing atmosphere and perfect service!
Highly recommend everyone who is going to visit Valencia
Fine dining at its finest. The whole course was spectacular. We ordered the 75€ menu and it was more than enough!
Beautiful plating and excellent service, a very special meal. The menu was mostly seafood with some Asian inspiration. A couple of the dishes felt like they could have used a bit more seasoning for my palate but overall a very good menu. I would recommend trying their vermouth which is made especially for them.
Weekend in Valencia and had the intention to choose 1 restaurant that is worthy of Michelin, Valencia offers a lot and then it is a matter of choosing which to take, finally opted for this just outside the center. No regrets! We were kindly received by the hostess who had previously sent a message to ask for our daughter who is vegetarian what she does / does not eat, very attentive given the menu did not have this. We were pleasantly surprised by the starters, tasty, fresh, beautifully presented. Appetizer also sublime in taste. Main course was maybe the least special, rice with fish but also tasted very nice (portion was a bit too big for us). Dessert very fresh (lime) with pumpkin, beautifully made. Very friendly and relaxed service, the woman knows how to bring it! 8 dishes that are all perfectly served, no overlapping of ingredients so if there is one less you have 7 others that can be your taste. Time flew by and enjoyed it all, we will definitely come back when we are in Valencia

Really good food at good prices for a restaurant situated inside of a museum. The pork ribs are a MUST. Service was a bit slow but that was understandable given that it was full; and there’s a self-serve section so you can’t really complain.
Choose this restaurant, because of the reviews. The food is good, we enjoyed every dish. But I expected more, a few times the dishes ordered were not available anymore. We had a woman who spoke a little bit English, but after a while we didn’t see her anymore. All other colleagues didn’t speak English very well, so here started a lot of mis-communication. Dishes never ordered at the kitchen or waiting times around 45min.
I had better experience with places they didn’t speak English very well and were I didn’t speak Spanish very well, but never had as this many miscommunication mistakes at one place.

The restaurant is away from the touristy area which could be a good thing, however it was a big disappointment to me at least: today’s special, 6 pieces of navaja/razor clams, were not only sandy but also spoiled, for 17€. I was polite not to return them. The fideuá/noodle paella was very tasty, though a bit of Asian. Nice ambiance to dine but I wouldn’t recommend.

We were only in Valencia for 2 days and heard such great things about La Principal that we needed to try it. Dinner was phenomenal.

You have to make a reservation to eat here which we didn't know initially, so we made a reservation and ended up going later that evening. Would definitely recommend!
Lovely fresh food, cooked very well. The house Vino Tinto (Rioja) was excellent. My only disappointment was that as a solo traveller, I could not any Paella dish as the minimum is for 2 persons. I really wanted that.
I enjoyed the best Paella de marisco ever: the sea food was so fresh and delicious. I was served by Clarissa: always smiling and caring. The restaurant is so close to the ciudad de las artes.

I didn’t want to write a review about this place until I had a chance to try out the paella in a couple of places first. So after trying them out, I have to say that this place is my favorite for the following reasons:
1. The serving staff were very friendly.
2. They provided me with an English menu.
3. They were nice enough to make an single order portion of paella for me rather than a double that is advertised on their menu.
The paella is flavorful. I love the crunchy rice and part of the skin on the chicken was also crunchy.
I ordered a pitcher of sangria, a plate of mussels, and a paella Valencia. To my surprise(and the staff’s), I finished the whole meal.
I would recommend this place without a doubt!
The Paella was delicious! We also got the calamari, which was amazing as well. Very fresh food and attentive service. The location is also charming and on a quiet street. For the traditional Paellas you will need reservations so they can prepare beforehand for you. Highly recommend this place. Pricy but worth it.

Me and my parents were walking down the street of Valencia, and we were looking for cool place to eat some tapas or paella. At first we ordered Agua de Valencia, and the drink was quite good, a Little bit stronger in taste, than the other ones we tried, but it was ok... till we realised that some big insect made an swimming pool from our jarra. We called the waiter and he went to change it to new one... but there was no more agua de Valencia... he asked if is it okay, to change it to sangria? We agreed, but I've ordered caipirinha. Guess what? There was any brown sugar or lime. 🙉 The waiter ask again if it is okay to exchange brown sugar for white and lime for lemon, the only thing left would be cachasa, if there was any, he could exchange it for vodka, and in result I would get polish drink "Barman" (eng. bartender). 🤣 But: my mom's fried potato and mine squidward was okay, my dad's paella was really salty, and wasn't anything special. Sangria was good, but my drink... okay let's say it, it wasn't caipirinha, it was just cachaca with lemon and sugar, and I'm even not sure if there were cachasa - lemon killed all the taste of it... We paid about 49€, the waiter told us that because of all the faux pass they gave us an lower price of jarra of sangria (we paid 16€ while price in their menu should be 20€!!! - You won't find it in the paper menu), there are no drinks: both, soft and alcohol ones. During our meal I've checked other reviewes, so when we saw that they don't gave us extra tax and they forgot to add my cocktail to bill, we left them whole 50€ and go as far as we could.🤣 The waiters was really nice to us and had very good english, two stars are for them, and one is for potatoes and sangria. 💁🏻‍♀️

We had lunch here. Oceanos salad, caesar salad and pasta carbonara plus 2 cappuccinos. It was ok. Very warm in the restaurant so don't go in expecting to escape the heat. Caesar salad was better than the Oceanos which had a weird tasting dressing. We did have a little visitor in the restaurant which was entertaining. Don't feed them though. Another table did and he didn't want to leave...

Leuk gezellig restaurantje in hartje centrum.
Leuke papagaai om het terras op de vrolijken.

Mooi ruim opgezet terras.
Voldoende ruimte en afstand.

Ruim gesorteerde menu kaart.
En uitstekend dagmenu.

Minpuntje, tapbiertjes erg klein 200ml, en elk volgend biertje met meer schuim.

Vriendelijke bediening, gezellig , en daar waar tijd, in voor een praatje.
Zeker de moeite waard.

Food was delicious! This was my first time having a seafood paella, and I was not disappointed. For dessert, I had the crepe with almond creme and my wife had the nougat ice creme with Baileys. Service was great as well! Definitely would go again!

Very nice restaurant. I went to this place with my girlfriend and we had fried calamari and a Paella De Marisco. The sittings were outside with a very nice view and the staff was very friendly. The starters arrived quite early with an over-the-top presentation. The Sangria was superb (with some sliced fruits) and the calamaris were awesome, you can tell they were fresh. The Paella took quite a while, but I understand why as it was a very good Paella. My only complaint with the Paella is that it was a bit too salty.

One issue that I found with this is that it's super expensive. Had a paella for two, sangria and fried calamari for 80 euros. Meanwhile there were other places that also do authentic Paella for less. So if you don't want to spend to much, I would not advise you to go there, otherwise this is a magnificent place to enjoy some authentic Spanish Paella.

This is a lovely little gem in Valencia. Their set menus look amazing if you want to sample Spanish cuisine but I can only speak for the main menu. The starters and the dessert were lovely - I wouldn't rave about the main - we had the seafood paella. The thing that made this place says the service. The lady was kind enough to speak English with us, she was absolutely wonderful. Definitely go to this place if you can.

This place was fantastic.

I can't recommend it highly enough. This is a place you need to eat if you are in Valencia.

We tried about 5 things, and they were all excellent.

We were staying at the Hotel Barceló, and came here on a Google Search.

One of the best restaurants in Valencia (and we had many).
We had lunch there and it was pretty much OK. The service was very fast and everything was tasty. A little bit overpriced, but nothing serious. It is a good place to sit for a beer if you want to escape from the noise of the crowds outside. I took one star because they did not let us sit by the window because we were only two people , and one star for the price/food ratio.
