So when you order an hour before your flight, you expect you might see the food before you need to board. Well, that isn't the case. 45 minutes after ordering, I had to get a refund as there was no food to be found. The lady next to me, she received her food twice. You read that correctly. After she was finished eating, the delivered her order again. Obviously, there is no one managing this restaurant. For what it costs to get a sandwich, one might think assuming great food and service is a must.

We had a great bartender and then there was a shift change. 2 new bartenders came on and complained when we asked to fill water containers. Referred us to the restrooms nearby but those machines were not functioning. Let them know that and they stuck to their guns. Asked for a glass of ice water and got an angry cup of warm water with no ice from the tiny lady with many ear piercings. We had already ordered and paid for several beers and cocktails in our group. I wouldn’t even complain about this if it was a uniform policy but the first bartender we had REPEATEDLY told us to not order water drinks because he could fill our containers. Why the eff am I even reviewing an airport bar?? I don’t expect the world but I do expect consistency and even a mild attempt at service. Again, it’s an airport so why should I expect it to be any good, I guess?
The first half of the experience was great! Bartenders were awesome. Second half was full of anger and misery. We asked to fill our water bottle and the 2nd shift guy told us to hike down to the bathrooms to fill it (even though the previous bartenders gave us cups of water). When we returned because it was broken, the angry little lady bartender begrudgingly gave us a glass of hot water.
Really good food for an airport! I got the two taco plate and thought that everything was very fresh and super flavorful. I appreciated being able to watch the food being made in front of me, too.
One complaint: please clean the stools! The wooden slats where you actually sit are fine, but the section of the seat beneath/between them is coated with chip pieces and crumbs.

I visited Vida Taqueria a few days ago and the drinks were on point, the food was okay! I will most definitely be back for the drinks! Our bartender Brittney was excellent, she made sure we enjoyed ourselves and the drinks she made us were amazing, and the overall atmosphere was great
I had previously ordered a Mexicana Breakfast Plate for delivery. Upon delivery I received the order with no queso, which was supposed to be included. I called the store and spoke with Jessie, the manager, and he suggested that I pick up a newly made correct order. I informed him that I was at work and the whole reason why I had it delivered was because I could not travel to pick it up. He then informed me that they go through a third party company for delivery but that he would personally deliver the new order himself a week later. He was very friendly and accommodating. The order was correct and delivered promptly. He also included a few extra tacos for my trouble. Thank you Jessie, you are one of a kind and Taco Cabana should be proud to have an employee as dedicated as you!
During our visit to the airport, we patronized Vida Taqueria. One wonders whether the proprietors of this establishment fully comprehend their business's name. Regrettably, the quality does not align with the name. It is unsatisfactory, to say the least.
The tortillas accompanying the tacos were served cold, as was the taco meat. One can only imagine the quality of the chorizo. Furthermore, the rice was inadequately cooked, resulting in a crunchy texture. Disappointing experience.

This middle earth based cafe is so cute. The portions are 'hobbit sized'. I would honestly bring a few extra humans with you to help finish all the food you'll be getting. The staff were all kind and seemed to be in good moods. It was incredibly busy, so expect a wait. It's totally worth it, though!
I enjoyed my fish tacos-super duper sauce on top was epic!! Great spring rolls! The burger with bleu cheese and avocado was excellent ! The outside patio was perfect for lunch & right under an aromatic tree!
Unreal food and atmosphere. Had the Balrog burger and I eat a lot and this was perfect portion. Could barely squeeze in the wife's leftover burger too.

It's the Novel....this cafe has over 50 years in the business and it has great food. It plays homage to Tolkien and the Lord of The Rings Novel. Have fun with the menu, the food is AMAZING! Everything from meat, burgers, chicken, veggies, etc... They got it!

The most basic light Mexican food you’ll ever see - no efforts on the food whatsoever. Went for it due to my dietary restrictions. I took the Tacos Duos Shredded Chicken (with Corn tortillas) 2 pieces of avocado and tips (mandatory) comes to a nice $31 (which in mexico would be 31 MXN, basically 16 times less expensive lol). Yah, I know, for some of you it may be too late when you’ll see this review - I had the same feeling when I saw the other reviews.
Food was pretty good, the salsa is terrible and the queso wasn't great but I'll go back and not order those items again. The server was fairly quiet but seemed nice enough and my order was correct so that's good. We were greeted & seated immediately upon entering and they had about 10 tables while I was there. Everything was brought to my table pretty quickly and the server refilled our drinks and chips without asking. I've been going here a few times a year since the late 80s, its good food for a fair price!
Taco Cabana I like their food but is mainly for a quick bite the old menu from 7 years ago it was more complete or many options to choose but iin this era everything has change

It was a good place to eat, but was pretty pricey for what I got. The building looks cool, but is more themed on the outside than the inside. I was impressed by the decor, though. Overall the atmosphere was novel, and the service was good. I just ended up paying ~$40 for an appetizer and a burger/fries, which felt steep for me. Just note that you have to pay for sides, and beverages are like $5.
The burgers are what dragged us out here. We were very pleased with the taste of everything we ordered. The size of the burgers is huge and very good. I ordered a few appetizers and ran out of room for the rest of my food. Portions aew definitely big. Must go back to have some of the meads. Everything was great. We shall return.
Great waiters & food here. No tacos de asada which was odd, but everything was flavorful & tip was included in the bill. Beware no physical receipt for business travelers.

The food is pretty good. The lemonade is on the sour side. The prices are also pretty high, but it’s a novelty place so that’s to be expected for the overall experience. Everyone working was super friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back, but in my elf attire next time. 😀

Really good and affordable food, with a Lord of the Rings theme. Huge menu too. I've not been there once and not enjoyed myself. The waitstaff are wonderful too. Each time I've gone, I've tried something different, and have never been let down. I highly recommend!!
I gave El Gallo a 3 star review because their chile con queso and salsa didn’t taste good. The worst queso con chile and salsa I’ve been served in a restaurant. The salsa with chips tasted like canned tomato paste purée. My entree Beef Fajita Tacos Al Carbón were delicious. The service is friendly and fast.
Enjoyed the cheese enchiladas and a beer. What we got was good, but feeling it was a bit expensive. Also the red salsa was not good - way too much lime!
Place is outdated, but do not let that keep you from trying this place! The service is great as servers have been there for years and they get to know the customers and their likes and needs. Food service is good tasting and service is fast. You will not regret experiencing El Gallo!

This place wasn't far from the museum district and I really enjoyed the food & the atmosphere. I wasn't sure what to order and my server recommended my dish and it was on point.
Setting a great standard in Mexican food. Love the decor, murals, enclosed patio. Chicken soup 🍲 was outstanding. Beef tips were plentiful, tender and delicious. Deserts outstanding.
The food is really good. High place for tex -mex, and some reviews are correct when it comes down to service. The hostess don't greet or welcome you when you walk in, they just look at you and look away. The Aguas frescas were amazing! It's a good decent place for the prize. They give alot of food especially the parrilladas.
Enchiladas here are delicious and you can never go wrong with their breakfast! We come here often and no matter the time of day the service is outstanding and they are kid friendly 🙌

My Favorite place for authentic Mexican breakfast. Menudo is always on point. Also on menu are other Favorite like Huevos Rancheros

Stopped in on 10-21-2023 with family for lunch. Was seated immediately with a party of 8. Drink order was taken promptly and the gentleman was very friendly. Kids were disappointed that there was no Orchata or Jamaica. Beer selection is also pretty limited and with my wife being a big craft beer fan was unfortunate.

Kids had chicken quesadilla and they enjoyed it. Refills came as needed without delays. Chips and salsa were also brought out whenever required without having to request it. After we paid the check they did stop checking on us which is understandable and I don't fault them for it but we did stay another 15-20 minutes just catching up on family stories and it would have been nice to continue to get refills on beverages. Not a major inconvenience just something that would have been nice to have.
Overall a pretty good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future. If you're in the area they're definitely worth a visit. You can also hit Connie's Custard on the way out for a great dessert!!

Horrible experience, food was bland no flavor, I ordered “Tacos al carbon” beef fajita and the meat has no flavor, the beans even worst and what can I say about the service, pretty much my family and me were ignored from the moment we got in, until finally we were seated and ordered our food. The person that brought the drinks was also very rude. We were the only Hispanics at that moment in the area were we sat and I could tell how they would give special treatment to the white folks around us and pretty much just felt ignored the whole time.

Recommend the Burritos A. Houston natve for 30+ years. El Gallo is my favorite Tex Mex in all of Northwest Houston. Great chips and queso and the food and service was fantastic like always!

Chose this taqueria to try because other reviews said they serve breakfast all day. They do! Everything was delicious from the salsas and tortillas to the meats. Got a lot of stuff to try and got my breakfast taco fix. My dad ate up his whole enchilada plate. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed.
I live in Pecan Grove and I was in the area and need to take some breakfast taco to a customer and just so happen to find this place. The waiter asked if I wanted corn or flour and said the corn tortillas are made fresh here and so I picked corn. I’m from San Antonio and these breakfast tacos were very very good. The salsas are delicious and the staff were very friendly, the place is clean and I would definitely recommend this place!!!

I like the food been going for a very long time but at these prices no thanks... I used to get an Acapulco for $10 to $11 here a ways back now its $18.95.. Yeah hard times, inflation, everything cost more etc probably what everyone else will say including the owner.. Yep pass it on the consumer.. Went on a Sunday evening and the place was dead. Not many people in there. Perhaps I am not the only one to complain about the price. Sorry won't be going back... I will eat at home for these prices...

Had a good time here. The server was attentive to our needs. They don't actually work the tables but the cashier was friendly and helpful. Offered several times to fill out drinks or bring us condiments. The food was really good. Made fresh and vegetables were nice looking not looking old. I'd recommend it to others

The older lady with an Auburn-colored ponytail is so rude when it was clearly her mistake. I asked for green and she gave me brown. She could have de-escalated but she yelled at me instead of simply giving me green. Shame on you. I have always received great service until today. Don't eat there unless you want to be yelled at by her. What a mess!
We came across this place, always looking to find a great new spot for Mexican food. It was our first time trying this place, which was very packed during our visit. Not very friendly upon entry to the business, the host did not greet us, just asking how many. However, it did not take them long to sit us down, around 15 minutes. Now, our waiter did not seem to be having a good day and was rude. At less, he was not trying to rush out after we ate.
The food took only a short time to come out and looked delicious. The taco was good, with fresh homemade tortillas. The menudo was right on point and had excellent taste to it. However, it lacked meat, and it was mostly hominy. The chilaquiles are traditional.
The atmosphere is perfect, and they have TV everywhere. The customer service was ok. They have clean restrooms, which is a top priority.
Parking is limited, but they do have additional parking across the street.
I recommend this place and try it again—hopefully a better experience. Safe travels. Prost

I ordered the 5 taquitos lunch special with fajitas. Everything from the salsa served warm, the complimentary soup of the day and the tacos exceeded expectation. I love this place. Just look at the picture! It cannot lie.

The selections have changed since I've eaten at a Taco Cabana and not like it used to be. I didn't stay and order anything. Reminded me of a glorified taco bell. Took a while before I was noticed and helped ... and the place only had a couple of customers. Seems like most of the locations I've drove by never seem busy at all.
Pamela and I we travel full time in our RV and we visit lot of restaurants. This El Gallo belongs to our top group restaurants, with the best food and great friendly service. I only wish I wrote down the name of the gentleman server....he was very nice. We will visit again. Thank you, Pamela and Michael
So…the margaritas are great…the guacamole was fresh…but we could not order food. My friend is allergic to mold. Within 10 minutes he could not breathe. If you suffer from allergies to mold, it’s best you not come out here because you will walk out with full blown allergy attack. I don’t understand how the health inspector doesn’t address this. How the owner doesn’t take pride in their restaurant and fixes this issue. How they sleep at night knowing their employees breathe this air in for 8+ hours a day. I rarely give one star reviews but this place needs to know.

Absolutely disgusting is as kind as I can put it. Enchiladas were HARD, DRY WITH CRISPY EDGES UNABLE TO CUT WITH PLASTIC KNIFE. Beans were as tasteful as a glass of water. Rice was hard and in big lumps. Enchilada gravy was so salty unedible and 90%went to garbage because i would never feed my dog anything like that. All the women working in there at 9pm on 04/26/22 were literally walking in circles confused because nobody seemed to know what they were doing. Dining area closes much earlier than other locations compelling customers to drive thru for the terrible food at this location. If you go to this location you deserve whatever you get because you read the warning I wish I would've read. You all should close this location and stop impersonating Taco Cabana.
I love this place and have been coming here for literally 15 years. This is the patron combo but you can also get sopapillas and all kinds of stuff. The portions are enormous and reasonably priced
I ordered the 2 Cheese enchilada plate with the new queso blanco, I got three! And the regular queso. And paid for it apparently. I also got the Shrimp Tampico quesadilla and it was horrible. Barely anything in it. My fiancé got the steak quesadilla and burrito. He was happy with his but my food was all messed up. The cashier never confirmed our order. When we got to the window we asked for a side of sour cream and the lady slammed the door in his face to add it to the order. Paid $37 for horrible food and service. He was so mad that he couldn’t even talk. She ruined this experience of going to a new Taco Cabana. WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN!!!!!
A Spring Branch thing. Great for large or small gathering. Also excellent to go. Always DELICIOUS, great service with a home away from home atmosphere.
I come here every time I'm in Houston visiting my grandma. I grew up on this place and can't find cheese enchiladas as delicious as these. I always order extras.
El Gallo has been around since 1971. First thing I noticed as I sat enjoying my chips and salsa was the amount of regulars in the restaurant. The waiters knew the customers by first name. Right away I knew why it was successful for a long time. The chips are very good. Thin and crispy and go perfectly with the salsa. The salsa is light but tasty. It's not overpowered with salt and other seasonings. The charro beans were decent. But the rice! Rice was too notch. Fluffy and moist. It was perfect. The tacos were good too. The meat was seasoned perfectly and soft. The flour tortilla was a little undercooked. But overall, I was very happy with this place and I would recommend it.
