Delicious Malaysian food 🇲🇾❤️We had nasi kandar, mee goreng kampung and curry puff. Washed it down with tasty teh tarik and milo ice.

Came here due to the good reviews. Casual cafe style place down Queensway with public toilets right outside in front of the cafe.
The food was ok. Nasi Lemak fried chicken (3 pieces) was nice and crispy. Sadly 1 piece was just the bone end of a drumstick. Nasi Goreng Kampung and kangkung was mediocre. Service was friendly.
Unfortunately l was really put off by the ants crawling all over the wall and the menu was rather sticky, hence my low score. The place needs a proper deep clean in my opinion.
There are other competent rivals in the area which l find do tastier food and cleaner.
Came here for a weekday lunch. Ordered three dishes and a side between four adults - it was the perfect portion size for us. Friendly staff and delicious food! Will come back again for sure.

Amazing food! We had their Hainanese Chicken Rice and Beef Horfun. Chicken was so tasty and tender. The beef was also very soft and has an amazing wok hei. The place was a buzzing, though some people might find it a bit loud. Service was also very fast and efficient. The lady who was serving us was amazing. Will definitely be back 🫶
Wings with the sauce were 10/10. Satay chicken not so much which was a suprise being called satay house and all. But nevertheless it was a great meal overall. The peanut sauce was also fantastic.

Ipoh Laksa is probably 7/10 from those found in South East Asia. It is pretty good considering it is in London. Portion is fair. If you miss Laksa and you're in London, this is the place to go. Be prepared to pay 20-30 GBP to satisfy your home-sick appetite.

Absolutely incredible food. I hadn't had the pleasure of feasting on Malaysian food before coming here and I shall most certainly be coming back to do so again.

Pictured here is the Iced Teh Tarik, Spinach & Cheese Murtabak, Vegetarian Char Kuey Teow and Kaya Sweet Roti.

A few things to note before coming are, the venue (read: room) is tiny. You will wait and it will be worth it.
~1h if you're at the back of the patio and longer if the queue has spilled onto the pavement.
You can order once and only once. Make sure you've decided on every dish you'd like to try, you cannot ask for more once you've placed your order but anything you don't finish can be taken home so be daring and order everything that sounds good to you to avoid disappointment.
Been to Rasa Sayang a couple of times and food is consistently decent. The beef noodles are really nice and the roti canai with chicken is delicious but the chicken is on a bone which, in a curry in a small bowl, makes it rather difficult to eat. The Char Kway Teow is also nice and the Chargrilled Tiger Prawns were quite dry and not very flavourful. Prices decent and service efficient.

All 10 of us in the group Enjoyed the various Nasi Lemak. I like the Salmon Asam Pedas and the chilly paste. Very Tasty. But no one likes the Gado Gado. The staff was friendly. As it was Merdeka day 50% Discount, the restaurant was very busy. The £1.50 for a hot glass of water plus SC was a turn off.

Arrived without a reservation, but they made the effort to accommodate us for one hour slot. The service was very attentive and fast. We ordered the baos, two types of the laksa, and noodles. Flavors were amazing, and very generous portions. The laksa is a very filling soup, so make sure you go with a full appetite.
They open only for dinner from 5 to 9, and are really a very popular spot, so make sure you make reservations before visiting, which I truly recommend you to do, it's a great place to eat.

We came for desserts; we queued outside for about 40 mins but it was worth it. When you think "roti" and "curry", you think Indian cuisine, but many cuisines eastward have had Indian influence throughout history, especially Malaysian. Trust me, the sweet roti desserts here are unforgettable! I will no doubt return to try the chicken curry.
This used to be a old fashioned Malaysian restaurant serving generous heapings of popular Malaysian fare. It’s now been given the ‘Wagamama’ treatment and the menu has shrunk, the portions have reduced in size even more, and while the interior has been given a makeover, it’s now tightly packed and oriented towards turnover rather than culinary hospitality. It’s a real shame as I won’t be returning again. There are some authentic Malaysian restaurants in Shepherds Bush and Acton for those looking for the real thing.

I have tried many char kway teow in the uk and none of them even come close compare to tukdin, this is the second time i have tried this dish, and this is really similar to the taste that i have tried in asia. You can tried the wok hay with the kway teow, very well seasoned.
Laksa is also with good taste and I recommend it. They have put many things inside laksa, eg three large mussel, many shrimp, fish ball. The laksa soup can taste it is homemade but not buy premade base. A creamy coconut can be tasted as well.
Spring roll is average.

This has been on our list for a while and been wanting to try them for the Malaysian delicacies.
Finally visited it. Though we didn’t have prior reservation we did get the table quickly. There were few free tables at the basement but they got occupied real quick.
Ambiance is pleasant.
Service is very quick.

For drinks we had Lychee Cooler, which is a gin based cocktail and a Guava Shorline which is a non-alcoholic drink. Both were delish. Really loved them.

We ordered vegetarian Tempeh to share, which were like soy chips in a really yummy sauce. It was very flavourful.

For mains, I went with Treasures Buddha's delight which sounded interesting based on its description. The dish says it comes with noodles but they ain’t the main sized noodles but they are very minimal. Our server Alice did recommend ordering a rice side along with it.
The dish was gooood but wasn’t as flavourful as our starter/tempeh. Personally would have loved to have a bit more flavour in this dish.

Other half ordered Nasi Goreng (S) which he said he really enjoyed. It came with rice, prawn crackers, and a crispy wing kinda thing. The portion was great for the price. One of the best so far he has had in London.

Overall a wonderful experience..
Alice was great with the service, 5/5 stars for her 🙂

4 sticks of the chicken satay was not worth it. Serving was small in my opinion. The staff was good. Not much vegetarian options since they use fish sauce which is understandable. Overall 3/5.

Singapore Fried Noodles, Nasi goreng kampong, fried fritters and cooling iced tea for us. Yummy
Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.

A very busy restaurant round from Camden station. We had a very friendly waiter. The roti and chicken satay was good, loved the roti which was crispy on the outside. Wasn’t keen on the noodles and kuew teow was mediocre, both tasted the same, bit too sweet for me. Kuew teow to my knowledge shouldn’t be sweet. My friend also ordered the Hainese chicken, but that didn’t quite make the mark for me, I’ve had better. So that was disappointing. Not a place l would head to any time soon.

Highly recommended place to eat some laksa from the Kebun Teh district of Johor Bahru. I am from the Johor Bahru area so the taste was pretty close to something you would get from the stalls back in Malaysia. The laksa broth is not too overpowering on either the chilli or the coconut and offers a nice balance.

The "kangkung belacan" was not as spicy and savory as I hoped for but it was still pretty yummy. The waiters were also very friendly too.

For larger groups, it would be ideal to pre-book a spot.

Excellent food and friendly, quick service.

The restaurant is very small but with a quick turnover. Although queues do get quite long, I didn’t have to wait too long - about 20 minutes.

It’s worth the wait! Food is excellent. Rotis are flaky and delicious and the curry’s are equally as good. There is a one order policy, so keep that in mind.

Would recommend.

Yummiest food ever !! We had lunch between the Harry potter shows. They were accomodating with time and food was absolutely yummy! The flavours was great, not bland at all. I would highly recommend roti kanai with chicken curry.
The restaurent can be decorated a bit more, I thought it was bit dark but might be more lit up at dinner time.

There is a lineup to get into the restaurant. The food is great but the portion is not too big. They only allow you to order once. So just make sure you have ordered enough to be full.
The food was delicious. A little on the spicy side for my kids but they ate themselves full of satay, basmati rice, and roti.

My husband and I enjoyed the flavorful spice of the Kway Teow Goreng (flat rice noodle stir fry with squid, prawns, eggs, and veggies) and the Daging Kicap (fried beef in oyster sauce). We also got a Mee Sup (noodle soup with squid and prawns and vermicelli noodles) and while it was good it wasn’t the favorite of the table.

Service was prompt and friendly!

A very sexy mess. Loved the crunchiness of the chicken and prawn. Portion is big
Ordered the Mee Goreng and Chicken Wings which were really nice especially when trying Malaysian cuisine for the first time.
Service was disappointing though. My friend accidentally knocked her drink over and the whole atmosphere and treatment afterwards was extremely rude and awkward and probably persuaded us to not come again.

I brought a friend to experience Singapore/Malaysia cuisine after reading positive reviews online.
The portions were small for the price that you are paying and tasteless. For the plate of char way teow, there was only a few slices of Chinese sausage, fish cake and 2 prawns! Secondly, the staff were rude and even gave us the wrong bill which I paid without checking. I then went to the counter to inform the waitress who served us and the manager was unprofessional in the way she managed the situation. Will not be going back again!

Outstanding restaurant. It had a great atmosphere, with a very homely feel - which was reflected in the food. We ordered beef rendang and the mee goreng which were both superb. Service was excellent and the restaurant is very Muslim friendly (all halal and no alcohol). Came here over 10yrs ago so it says something that it is still open and standards haven't slipped.

Great Malaysian delivery option. Laksa broth was great. Randang beef was tasty too and chicken starter also delicious. Gets a bit oily with the soup but really well packaged.
Buzzing place, you know the food is good when the regional people are eating there, spoke to some lovely malaysian people.
My utmost respect to the cooks and service staff as they went above and beyond.

Would have liked more help when ordering the food, like a mix of dishes not much in the way of balance when our food came. Our own fault but perhaps preventative.
Food was okay; chicken wasn't great quality, but flavours were good with decent portion sizes.
Service was efficient, but felt like they wanted us to leave to make room for other people. Cleared our plates too quickly and felt rushed.
Doubt I'd be returning...there's a lot of other better choices around Chinatown.

The food was great. For starters, we had chicken wings and lamb satay (the peanut sauce was delicious). The duck bao buns had crispy Duck inside a moist bun. Laksa, an obvious choice for main, was really flavourful.
The only disappointment was the dessert (mango snow ice!!) which had very little taste except for crushed ice. I also found the reluctance of servers to take orders quite strange, even though the restaurant was pretty empty on a weekday evening.

The dishes we ordered had good flavours. Laksa noodles with seafood, beef rendang, fried aubergine in chilli paste and coconut rice.

My favourite was the fried aubergine in chilli paste, they were fried perfectly. They weren't too spicy at all.

The beef rendang had good flavours but unfortunately the beef was too dry and the flavours weren't thoroughly seeped through the beef.

Interestingly they used egg noodles in their laksa noodles instead of rice/vermicelli noodles. It's a plus for me as I prefer egg noodles. However, I felt that an authentic laksa soup should have a thicker consistency and taste more flavoursome than their laksa.

Coconut rice was pretty standard, don't know what the hype was in the reviews.

The service was pretty fast and the waitress took time to explain some dishes to us. Happy with their service.

Overall, they serve good food but not exceptional enough to revisit.
As compared to the other Malaysian restaurant I have been their food is nothing but ordinary. Too pricey for the main meal on its own, you have to order rice and/or ikan bilis kacang separately. Ais kacang is covered with so much curved ice with very little red beans, corn and jelly. Cucumber in the chicken satay was not fresh, looks soo dry that I had to ask for a fresher portion. I don’t think I would ever come dine again and would not recommend the place. What a total disappointment indeed!

I would definitely give the seafood char kway teow (£15) 5 stars. It is very delicious with plenty of seafood. I give chicken curry roti canai 4 stars as I’ve had better in another Malaysian restaurant in London, but it is still quite good. Don’t order duck popia (£5) or teh tarik.

No toilet at the restaurant, but there is a public one very nearby. The venue is nice and clean.

I would go again to try something else!

I was really looking forward to eating here with two of my friends but didn’t expect to be so disappointed. The food was tasteless and looked tired. I asked for chilli flakes, they had none but offered cut chilli. And then resorted to asking for a lemon wedge for some flavour - I needed to get some food in. But I left loads on the plate. A waste of my money.

Was craving Singaporean/Malaysian favorites after travelling in Europe for a while and this was a good spot for some comfort food.
I was a lil confused upon entering cos it looked more like a bar than a restaurant and the music was turned up too loud for dining and the lighting was rather dim. So we decided to move upstairs to a more normal dining space.
We ordered their traditional Laksa (I changed my noodles to the yellow noodles), nasi lemak, gado gado, satay, Roti Canai to share. We each had a glass of Teh Tarik.
Laksa - yum! The gravy was lighter than what I’m used to but very tasty and went well with the noodles. Good amount of ingredients.
Nasi Lemak - the rice (the most important part!) was fragrant with light coconut flavour
Gado Gado - the sweet peanut sauce was perfect with the boiled vegetables
Satay - which was ordered as part of the appetisers came abit too late (after we had finished most of our meal) was thick and chunky. It was the least impressive of the lot but maybe cos we were too full to enjoy it.
Roti Canai - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Perfect with the curry dip.
Teh tarik - was surprisingly good. I asked mine to be less sweet and it was done just right.

Definitely worth a visit if you have a craving!

I came here for dinner on a Thursday and ordered the Roti John and Curry Puffs. The curry puffs were delicious, I would like to go back for them as they were warm, slightly crispy on the outside, and the filling was full of flavour.
The roti John was also tasty, but it was a Malaysian style sandwich of flavoured chicken inside a sub roll.
I would have liked to try their roti dishes, but it's a shame that they only have them for the weekends.

Super busy when we went on a Saturday night. Not a lot of table staff, but the gentleman who served us was attentive and did a good job going round all the tables tirelessly. Importantly, the food. Some of the best Malaysian food I've had anywhere in London, and up there with the same dishes I've had in Malaysia and Singapore. Would go back for the curry puffs alone, flaky and so tasty. Excellent flavours throughout, not shy on the chilli! Reasonable prices for the area. Will be back for more...

Classic hole in the wall type of restaurant with a limited menu where the food speaks for itself. You looking at Malaysian cuisine with a focus on Roti (obviously) and you only get one chance to order. This is good because it keeps the tables rotating at a good pace, which is handy because you can’t book and have to queue outside. We only waited 10 min though so not that bad.

Cheap and cheerful authentic Malaysian restaurant . Basic seating and service but it all is improved by the delicious food on offer. The curry puffs are absolutely outstanding the flaky pasty is sublime with a curry vegetable filling . Almost like an Asian Cornish pasty but much better . I could've just had some of them and been happy but I had an excellent Nasi goreng rice dish which was washed down by some lovely jasmine tea .
Initially slow service (drinks took ages) but nice enough staff, though awkward when one of them nervously quizzed us on why we were sitting at the wrong table (we’d asked if it were OK as the other table was cramped next to a group and right buy an opening door, gusting in cold air).

Menu only viewable via scanning barcode and using your phone, absolutely ridiculous and totally unacceptable for a restaurant of this price point. Really difficult to see everything clearly and make decisions.

Starters: friend’s spring rolls looked nice; my hollowed-out tofu with beansprouts was a simple dish but the dipping sauce was very good. My main of fish curry was delicious, but disappointingly small. Side of tofu and beansprouts was OK, but very simple and needed some soy sauce on the table. Friend enjoyed his noodle dish.

Overall, a rather underwhelming experience though I’d certainly like to try a double portion of that fish curry. In the past I'd perhaps give a '3', but with everything so expensive now, it's a '2', especially with the menu nonsense.

It is quite an authentic Malaysian place, however, there is room for improvement on the food quality and hygiene…when we came, the kitchen was not fully functioning so the food seems to be re-heated. Beef Rendang tastes fine but not particularly outstanding. Fish was served in original form so lots of bones.
Also took off another star because stomach felt weird in the evening.

We heard about this restaurant through a friend who was visiting. My family is in town this week and this was the first restaurant I've taken them too. It was a hit!

My mom is vegan and quite the picker eater, but she absolutely loved it and has requested we come back here for dinner before they leave. She had the vegan laksa.

I had the Penang Assam Laksa, my dad had the soft shell crab laksa, my sister had the Ipoh Curry Laksa, my husband had the Melaka Curry Laksa and my brother in law had the Jumbo Fresh Water Prawn. We each loved everything that we had! I'd definitely recommend getting a laksa if you come here!!

The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. I'd definitely recommend this place. You can make reservations online through their website. We are going back for a second go on Saturday!

Famous place with queues outside, people can't wait to get in for the incredible Malaysian dishes. Recommend this if anyone is looking for authentic Malaysian food. I've heard Roti King is known for offering nice Malaysian food, and they certainly didn't disappoint. The food is brilliant and absolutely worth a visit, even though very often, would have to wait for a while before taking the stairs down and entering the restaurant. You would be amazed how delicious the dishes would taste. We come all the way from Manchester, and it is worth waiting for.

Much better than I expected for a new customer who haven’t tried anything about Malaysian cuisine. Extremely kind staff who explained the menu to us patiently.
Tukdin is a great spot for halal Malaysian food in London. We tried a few dishes during our visit, and while some were better than others, overall we had a good experience.

The nasi goreng was a bit under-seasoned for our taste, but it had a nice kick of spice from the anchovies. The char kwe tiau was pretty good, although some parts were better seasoned and more moist than others.

The oxtail soup (sop buntut) was a standout dish - the meat was soft and tender, and it was a comforting and satisfying dish.

The chicken curry was good, although it was a bit too thick for our liking. And the mie goreng mamak was pretty good.

Overall, we enjoyed our meal at Tukdin and would recommend it to anyone looking for good halal Malaysian food in London. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the service is friendly and attentive.

Can't believe we missed such close HALAL southeast asian restaurant near our place! Really good to satisfy our craving of hometown food. Not exactly cheap but we'll take it.

Amazing food and amazing service! Previously been many times, but this is my first time after covid lockdown. I brought here my friends who were visiting from Thailand back in the summer. It was a much needed fix for them, after a week of no Asian food at all. All food was so so so good. Char kway teow, beef rendang, and nasi lemak were our favourites.

This place has been a reliable staple that I will continue to bring out of towners to experience. I've never regretted eating here, except for one time that we couldn't get in because restaurant was fully packed! They now have two floors but every time I've passed by, it is still packed with people and a waiting queue outside. Not the kind of restaurant you come for a relaxing sit down for many hours, but the kind that you eat and leave as soon as you're done because there's so many people waiting outside to get in. Although we weren't rushed to leave by the waiters at all.

Auntie Alice took care of us that night and she spoke some Thai too! Even though she was super busy, she took the time to check in on us and told us about her adventures in Thailand. She made us feel very warm and at home. It was hard to get other waiters' attention due to how busy the place was, so I recommend looking at the menu before you go and ordering everything at once. 10/10 would come again.

Lovely Asian fusion place in Camden. I’d go there mainly for Malaysian. The roti was very tasty and the laksa soup was creamy. However, waiting time for food and for the bills was long.
Lovely small Malaysian restaurant! The food was tasty and flavourful. Portions were decent in size. We had seafood noodles and a fish curry. The menu would really benefit from dish spiciness indication, it was slightly tricky to find something that would be not hot 🔥🔥 otherwise staff is friendly and helpful, would come again

All the laksas are quite spicy so would need some time to eat it. Very flavourful with a good amount of toppings and meats in the noodle dishes.
Atmosphere was nice. It was very busy, so book in advance. Not many Malaysian restaurants around but this one is great.
Interior design is very nice so pic worthy.

Very nice food, we shared a beef curry, some pad Thai chicken with a side of water spinach with prawn paste (the side was a bit too fishy for our taste), and we shared some baos (filled with mackerels... a bit disappointed but still tasty) and some fried chicken as starter. For dessert I had the roti tisu which is quite impressive but not over filling like i feared, it is just inconvenient to eat 😅. My friend had the banana fritters. Really good food and agreable service. I highly recommend.

Affordable, yummy and cosy! I've almost tried every single dish on their menu and loved everything. My favourites are the nasi lemak beef rendang, mee mamak goreng and the onion fritters! It's cash only on Wed and Sun, but there are plenty of cash machines along the road. Highly recommend!

I've been meaning to try this place for a while and I'm happy I went.
I was a bit disappointed in the coconut rice that seems to be all the rage among reviews, mine came out watery and overcooked and I wasn't a fan. The roti isn't on par with roti king but still yummy. The dishes we ordered were very good, although I've forgotten the name. The server was very nice and recommended them to us.

The food was flavourful and good value for money. We will be back if in the area
With the restaurant being known for its authentic Malaysian food, I was not impressed. I expected the food to taste better. Some of the dishes lacked flavour. Overall food was ok. However I don't think I will go back there anytime soon as I know of a couple of restaurants which serve tastier Malaysian food. Saying that I'd still recommend to try it at least once. The staff are lovely and attentive. The place is clean. It gets busy in the evenings, so a nice buzzing atmosphere without being too noisy.

It was pleasant surprise to find real Malaysian food in this neighbourhood and I’m obsessed. Nasi Lemak was fresh, authentic and delicious, the meat was tender and flavour was spot on. The teh tarik was strong just like how it should be. Staffs were friendly and attentive. Would recommend to give it a try if you enjoy Southeast Asian cuisines, it can get quite popular on weekends so better book in advance.

This is such a great restaurant, the food is just excellent. I hadn’t been here for about a year but was finally in the area again last night so went back and it is still just as good. The Nasi Kandar is the best and I always have to get it, especially with the chicken. Also try the Melur Special drink, it’s super tasty and refreshing ngl. My only complaint is they took down the big Malaysian flag at the back of the restaurant since the last time I was there, you can never have too many flags 🇲🇾🇲🇾🇲🇾

Found this restaurant serving authentic Malaysian food tucked away near Crofton Park Railways Station. The flavours of the main dishes were authentic, though the beef rendang was tough to chew and Char Kuey Teow was a little too oily. The kuihs were a lovely surprise though there was too much sirap bandung in the kuih lapis to our taste. Overall if you're craving for Malaysian food this is a good place to go, especially if you live in the area !

For a change, we chose Malaysian food. So we decided to dined in at Mamak Don, Camden Town. The food were delicious, but I can say it’s pricey. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice, Coconut Rice, BBQ Salmon and and Malaysian specialty beef (Spicy) we all liked it! They are good for sharing. One of the staff was not friendly. Otherwise, the whole experience was good!

We made a last minute decision to visit this restaurant. It did not disappoint. We sat on a table outside watching the world go by while drinking the cocktails. The service was very prompt and efficient. The food was delicious, I was full at the end of the meal, but it was that nice I wish I could have ate more.

A bit disappointed in terms of taste. We had the mee kari with nasi lemak as the main alongside karipap for the appetizer. The mee kari was underwhelming, it did not have a strong curry base nor was it spicy and creamy as per usual. The nasi lemak on the other hand also lacked taste. The sambal was not spicy at all just sweet, oddly enough. The accompanying dishes in the nasi lemak was also lacking, I mean, one slice of cucumber and 4 pieces of anchovies?! Surely you can afford more if you're charging customers those prices. Another point of disappointment is the service. It was lackluster and mistakes were made by the server on our drink orders. I can chalk it up as a simple mistake but other customers also had problems with getting their orders. Perhaps its her first day on the job.
The only redeeming part of the meal was the karipap, thank goodness. Need more consistency in terms of service and taste.

We were here for Saturday lunch and we were off to the worst possible start when we found that both of our curry puffs were still half frozen. The waitress did replace them but my new one was still a bit cold - though less so than before.

I then had the "nasi lemak special" as my main. The best parts were the fried chicken and sambal. Fried chicken marinade was lovely! Wished they were a bit more generous with the sambal though!

My husband then had the 'mee goreng mamak" as his main. It was ok I guess... Tasty enough but certainly not the best we have had in the UK. They were generous with the ingredients with decent amount of prawns and chicken slices. Could do with some (more) spice though!

We also had sambal aubergine on the side. It was reasonably tasty but a bit too oily for our liking!

All in all, a bit disappointing 🙁. Which is a bit sad as we were here pre COVID for their buffet and it was a great experience.

Super delicious Malaysian food here! Nasi lemak, laksa Johor, chicken satay, roti canai, Mee goreng and etc. They even have ice kacang but only will start selling again in May. And service here is good too! Friendly staff.

We tried to go a couple of weeks in a row and couldn’t get in on a weekend, so calling and booking in advance highly recommended.

The food was actually pretty amazing and there were multiple vegetarian (with the option for vegan), fish and meat options. You can BYOB for a £2 charge too.

Would definitely recommend as it was relatively cheap and staff seemed nice!

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised on my first trip here. The food was delicious. Often in many restaurants, when you order noodles or rice dishes, there isn't much ingredients. This is not the case here. My noodles were full or chicken, vegetables and prawns. All very reasonably priced. Service was brilliant too. Well done and keep up the good work.

As many other reviewers have noted, the service is good, both warm and efficient.

Though the curry that accompanied the fluffy roti canai looks watery, it actually has depth.

And though I’m personally not impressed by the weekend special of nasi ambeng, that’s probably because 1) I have nothing to compare it against and 2) my own philosophy that I prefer a small portion of top notch food rather than a giant portion of average tasting one.

All that said, given the overall experience and price point, I’d be coming back to try the laksa or mee bandung (as recommended by the server).

Update 31/10/2021: first customers as soon as Ibu opens at noon. Had the mee bandung, laksa Johor, teh tarik, bandung cincau and karipap ayam. The first three are 5/5 (would definitely order again), the fourth is 4/5 (not bad) and the last a 3/5 (can give a miss).

Again, the service by Cammie was top notch. And the prices more than reasonable.

Update: 21/11/2021 had to have the wonderful roti canai again and Ibu didn’t disappoint. Had mee rebus too and it was just as good. Only new addition was mee goreng mamak. For me, it’s not exactly bad - and Ibu doesn’t skimp on either chicken or prawn! - but I’d hesitate to recommend this to anyone unreservedly.

Will we be coming again? Without doubt.

Place is small but the food is amazing!! It reminded me of the time me and my wife travelled to Malaysia. Some of the items maybe too spicy for non-asians, so better ask before ordering. But for us it was perfect, felt we were back in KL.

Really nice authentic Malaysian restaurant serving authentic Malay food. Came for the kerabu that is served every Sunday and also the Mee Rebus special. Very delicious indeed and also spicy. Nice selection of dessert kuih to select from.

Great tasty Malaysian cuisine with a homely atmosphere. Only Malaysians allowed unless you come as a guest with one. We had some nasi campur, nasi lemak and some cakes with teh tarik. All sumptious and well recommended
I went here two Sundays ago and I was allowed to go in and nobody asked me if I am a Malaysian. They had good safety protocols.

I was overwhelmed by the food selections for Nasi Campur so I enquired and the staff were very helpful and accommodating. I had Nasi Campur with 3 dishes: squid red curry, chicken curry and aubergine. These were sublime recommendations washed down with Teh Tahrik. I had some take away of glutinous rice sweets, Nasi Kerabu and Roti Canai.
My overall experience was so excellent with staff being so friendly, showing ultimate Malaysian hospitality, that I started raving about this little gem of Malay food to friends to try.

However I came back this Sunday with a friend and we were turned away because the canteen was only for Malaysians and we should be accompanied by Malaysians. Since I was raving about it the week before, we were really looking forward to having a Malaysian feast. The lady behind behind the desk was polite but I hope they make it clear here or put a sign on the door about this policy. It was simply embarrassing. I would not want this to happen to other non Malaysians who would try to venture here and experience the same embarrassment.

I will not lower my rating fo this place despite this recent incident. I maintain their food is really good and the hospitality by the canteen staff is very heartwarming.
This alone Malaysians should be proud of.
Excellent food, good portions and value for money. Friendly and helpful service.
Daughter to me there for Father's Day Lunch and I was very happy with the food we had and bought a lot of yummy Malaysian cakes which was just exquisite.
Will go there again soon.

This place makes you feel like home! Their mi rebus is my favourite - at £5.50 per bowl it’s such a bargain! I love their teh tarik and nasi lemak too. Their traditional kuih and sweet delicacies are amazing - almost every single of them will make u smile because they’re genuinely so good! It’s unfortunate that their don’t offer card payments but I hope they will do this soon due to covid.

The place is a short walk from Bayswater tube station. Good food Malaysian at a very reasonable price, with the finest Malaysian hospitality! Great service, will definitely visit again! We had nasi campur, nasi lemak and roti canai. The roti canai and dhal with a dash of sambal bilis was particularly good. They had an array of kuehs - so we had some takeaway. Air bandung is a must try!

Third time in London now and every visit feels incomplete without coming to eat here. It always makes me feel as if I'm in Malaysia. There aren't many malaysian restaurants in Germany, so this is the best place for me to fulfill my cravings. Love the kuih choices and the catfish dish is awesome too. Oh and the teh tarik, you shouldn't miss it.

I give it a solid 3.5 star on flavor but options aren't the widest. More tailor to the Malay cuisine.

Price is decent.

Very Basic decor canteen style place. Order and pick up food yourself, and clean up your own dishes. Not particularly sure if anyone clean the table once in a whilst.

Food was tasty enough. Unfortunately the lemongrass curry I wanted didn't have enough to do a full serving, they wouldn't let me order that and mix in a bit of something. So it was disappoint.

Got the next red curry lamb and it was ok. I wasn't whelmed.

Keow Teo noodles was flavorful and have enough ingredient.

The kuih/pastry. Some was good. The fried stuff been been sitting out for too long so wasn't as good.

I realize now. The precook dishes wasn't kept warm which I assume isn't up to some health code. But no problem with tummy after eating it.

Service for ala carte order was very fast. It wasn't a busy hour at around 7.30pm. Some of the precook curry was already sold out.

The tea Tarik was pre-made. Free water and the red is color flavor drinks.
