Beautiful experience with some of the best sushi especially for a reasonable price! Everything was obviously fresh. Absolutely recommend. Started with spicy tuna on crispy rice - perfect first bite. Followed by halibut cheeks which were light and citrusy. Ordered a series of sashimi - the toro stole the show and was the table favorite. For rolls we got Momiji (salty & fatty), 007 (lightly spicy), and Capitol Hill (sweet and savory). Overall tasty and fresh dinner that I’d happily bring friends or colleagues to enjoy.
Went during happy hour. From the Happy Hour menu we got:
-Sashimi Don (salmon)
-Unagi (eel) roll

On the regular menu, I ordered ikura sōmen (forgot to take a picture of), and 2 shrimp tempura rolls

Food was fantastic, very authentic, and the atmosphere made it feel like you were in Japan.

You can’t go wrong ordering sushi here. But, I do recommend the sōmen noodles, which I will warn is served cold but that is what makes it authentic!

All together the bill came to around $60.
Tip default options are 18%, 20%, 25%.

Each piece of the roll was narrow, so it was pricey for small pieces. Also, the pieces fell apart real easily. They didn't seem wrapped correctly. The flavors weren't anything to write home about. I have eaten a lot of sushi, and I don't leave "bad" reviews often, so I am not trying to be rude or a troll. I didn't have an experience where I felt the hype was worth it, but I am always willing to try again and see if my review will need to be updated. I will say the atmosphere is really cool, tho!
Straight up fire, if you have read any of my other reviews, just know I'm not messing around. I'm chowing down on a dragon roll, the waiter witness me scooping up the sauce like it was going out if style.... he dropped by with an extra dish of Straight up (whatever the hell they be sticking on eel) * delicious anyhow 10/10 incredibly proactive service and fantastic food great spot for a date
I Love Sushi in Seattle is probably the best place to get Japanese food for family events. I wanted to celebrate Mother's Day at home with food catered for all my family I invited over. But from years of Doordash experience, it is really hard to find a place where they prepare the food to make it look good when delivered. Often times, sushi is delivered with hot food and made me concerned especially when the weather is hot. However, this was never the case with I Love Sushi and I tried their platters for the family event. What we found after I brought the food home is that it not only survived my Seattle driving under traffic but they packed the sushi with a lot of ice packs and hot foods were totally separated. Again, I Love Sushi is probably the only restaurant that really goes beyond my expectation whether dining in or to go. This will be my go to place for event catering!!
The ambience here is a very elegant and comforting setting. Incredibly cool vibe and relaxing atmosphere. Bonsai garden and many custom designs make this spot a one of a kind must visit not to mention the food.

Incredibly unique, artisan & tasty options for Vegan!

I’ve now been three time times and love it! More importantly, their happy hour is the best since it’s also on the weekends. Solid food, great atmosphere and awesome service. Their casino roll and their halibut cheeks are my favorite. On their happy hour menu, the poke bowl is freaking tasty for a perfect price. I highly recommend their leeche martini too! I don’t recommend their spicy ginger chicken though.

Delicious rolls and noodles! 12th Ave roll and the yakisoba noodles were amazing and definitely a favorite from our group. The noodles were spicy and very flavorful. The 12th Ave roll was delicious with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna. We also ordered the Madison roll but weren’t huge fans of it. Other things we ordered were the miso soup, rainbow roll, and the crunchy cali roll. Service was great and the food came out fast. We also ordered the jasmine tea and hibiscus berry tea. The center garden area in the restaurant is beautiful and the overall ambiance is very calm and inviting. Overall a great dinner!

One of the best Japanese restaurants in town as far as menu composition and the amount of options that you can get. Get your order delivered though because the vibe of this place went downhill several years ago as Capitol Hill gentrified. You've got the new tech bro crowd and the service that lets you know you're an inconvenience.
So anyway on your doordash order go ahead and get the Enoki mushroom appetizer because it's the best thing ever and the panko fried oysters are fantastic. My favorite roll has always been the Extreme Tarantula but it's better without the included sauce so you can just use Wasabi and soy sauce. Instead of dessert just get the Tropical Paradise roll which is so good with mangoes and blueberries.
I've gone to the I Love Sushi in Bellevue for a long time here and there (and never wrote a review, go figure), but went to their South Lake Union location and was pleased. The Skip Jack Tuna of my rainbow roll was a bit disappointing and something I've never experienced in their fish. It was kinda fridge and fishy tasting.

Otherwise the rest was quite tasty including the Gindarra (Black Cod). I didn't taste my dates Niku Udon but I heard no complaints. The O-Toro Tuna was lovely.

Overall, a very reputable sushi spot with good selection with a price that matches the quality.

First things first, this is a heavy hit on your wallet, so you should be prepared for that if you’re thinking of dining here. After tax and tip(20%), the chef counter omakase dinner for 2 people with a bottle of sake and 2 desserts came out to about 450$. They do table service with a nigiri dinner that starts at 85/p but of course this is also not cheap by any means. I’d recommend a reservation, though I think it’s required for the omakase.

With that out of the way, we saved for it and it was a special occasion dinner that we felt was absolutely worth the price and would go again.

The host greeted up kindly and acknowledged the special occasion, hung our coats and seated up at the sushi bar. It’s structured, but not upright. All the staff were polite and attentive, giving you a classy feeling without being too overwhelming.

If you’re unfamiliar with a wide range of sushi or omakase culture, not to worry because the chefs will guide you through the whole experience in a way that makes it an enjoyable feature of the night. Providing history and education on the fish, and where they come from. They were all very charismatic and charming. It might not be your cup of tea if you have high-end omakase often, but for us it was very welcome. The chef also adjusted the way my sushi was served because I am left handed, which was a nice touch.

The food was great. Fresh, delicious. Best uni I’ve had in my life. Presented beautifully and paced well. I truly can’t say enough, but being willing to spend that much on it again says plenty I am sure.

All in all, if you can afford it, like fish, and want a delicious cultural experience that is classy but not stuck up, Shiro’s was a beautiful dinner we won’t forget.
I was not sure what to expect from vegan sushi but this exceeded my expectations- everything was DELICIOUS and our server was extremely friendly and welcoming. This was such an excellent experience, I will definitely be back.

Old school university way vibes. Vinyl and rock n roll shrines. Food is amazing. Some of the best sushi here in the north side.
Really delicious vegan sushi! We loved how many options they were and everything tasted so good. We especially liked the Dragon (the seared inari on top gave it such a nice smoky flavor) and the Maui (the tempura green onions so nice and crisp)!! Our server was really friendly and checked on us throughout our dining. Apparently, it can get really busy so be prepared for a wait since it's a small place or make reservations beforehand.

Extremely high quality Americanized rolls and sashimi. The fish was some of the best Ive had at a sushi restaurant in Seattle. The texture and aesthetics of each roll were outstanding.
In addition, the service was excellent- fast, pleasant, and nonintrusive. The waitress we had never rushed us but took our order and brought us the check exactly when we wanted it.
Such a great experience. Freshest sushi and nigiri, great lunch prices and atmosphere on south lake union. the octopus and o-toro were spectacular!

The modern yet cozy ambiance creates an inviting atmosphere and that really set me at ease when I ate here. The service is friendly and the food is good and actually very quick to come. Great for casual eating Japanese cuisine. Also not the point of this restaurant, but the edamame was soooo good, I don't know what they do to those peas but they're doing it right.

One of the best Sushi experiences I’ve had anywhere. Consistently Amazing. Servers take the time to explain the intricacies of each course. Fish is perfectly seasoned and melts in your mouth. Not a place that focuses on gimmicks, instead, you’re presented with fresh excellent sushi each time.

Not the best first impression of this highly rated sushi venue. Atmosphere with interior and exterior decor including Japanese harden feature in courtyard was special, but the vibe squashes by nineties music. The food was good but not outstanding. We tried the crispy rice dishes and some fresh rolls. Nothing too complex flavor wise, presentation was beautiful. I appreciated that they brought out edamame with water to start. The dining experience, even at the very start of the evening was rushed. They took plates without asking while we were still eating, and the quickly brought the check. This in an atmosphere that I would want to stay longer because it looks elegant. Looks and feels were at odds with each other. That would be my biggest complaint. Sub par, but still delicious.

Ordered takeout (tuna roll + spicy tuna roll + avocado roll) and sushi was good but avocado quality was pretty bad. I had to pick them out cause they looked okay From the top but the mushy brown parts were hidden inside the roll. Fish quality was great though
I am a HAPPY customer! Delicious food, wonderful service, and great vibes all around. I love to see restaurants get so creative with vegan cuisine. I'm telling all my friends and will definitely come back!

The tuna had a fishy taste upon eating and stronger fishy after taste.

I got the hotter than he** sushi roll and it was not spicy at all. 1.5/5 cause so fishy

The sweet shrimp came with a deep fried crunchy head. The sweet shrimp was a solid 3/5. It is not omakase level or even basic sushi Japan level .

Oyster shooters were so sour that even if it went bad I couldn't tell. 1/5

Seafood gyoza was 3/5. It has a nice crunch.
Rockstar 3/5 , not too heavily battered for being fried.

Crispy sushi rice 2.5/5. some pieces were more fried than hours. Main problem was the fishy after taste.

QR code menu, difficult parking causes of caphill. Food came out in a reasonable time and free edamame.

This place is amazing! If you want the original Japanese style sushi you must go to Shiro's Sushi. The sushi melts in your mouth. That's how delicious it was. I recommend the Che's Choice Sushi Course. Excellent customer service!
AMAZING Sushi !! All Vegan place.
We are vegetarian and barely get to choose one or two kinds of sushi when we eat out.
Having 10+ sushi options was just amazing.
The place was clean, Services is good, and food was outstanding.

Village sushi is amazing. Been here a few times and have had an excellent experience. Prices are fair and the sushi is really good. I love the atmosphere. It feels like you are walking into an authentic local sushi bar. There are a bunch of tables basically put in the middle of everything else. You can see the sushi being made on one side of the room and people prep eating ingredients on the other. Their specially rolls are great and appetizers are good. Nothing really to complain about it was always been a good experience. They help you out fast and for what you pay the sushi and good and fast.

The was our first time experiencing a 19-piece nigiri tasting menu and it was incredible. The set menu was very carefully constructed and the quality of the night was exceptional. The real wasabi was a very nice touch as well! We were thrilled with this experience and will definitely be back.
Delicious and cheap. Love coming here. They have a great array of foods and I pretty much have my favorite order saved in my phone at this point. ❤️ Ku sushi

So good that my boyfriend and I went 3 nights in row. We were embarrassed for a split second but it was too worth it. We felt that the pricing was more than appropriate - Quality of fish is great, rolls crafted beautifully in front of you, atmosphere is cozy and music is calming. Loved it!
Great quiet place (as for 9pm)
No line/no wait.
We've also ordered Saké to start.
Then vegetarian sobé and two rolls.
All feel fresh and tasty.
Super kind friendly service.
And quiet to make a good conversation.
Good job!
Amazing amazing sushi!! Highly recommend this place when in Seattle!! Freshly made delicious sushi!! Service was good. They don’t take reservations for lunch but we got a nice table for our group of 5. Among what I remember: Gladiator and hot as hell stood out, though all the ones we ordered were 10/10! Cannot wait to go back when in the city!
50% of sushi rolls all the time - from $7-9 each. At least three rolls is enough to feed two people imo, which is about $25 total! They have wide variety. I can’t speak to the izakaya food but that also looks tempting. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Most affordable sushi place in Seattle!
Stopped by for a weekday lunch with my coworker. I was craving noodles so ordered the yakisoba with seafood. And... it was overwhelmed with a funky mushroom and seaweed sauce and flavor. The squid pieces were very rubbery and the tentacled legs were a bit too much for me. Honestly overpriced. My friend got the sashimi platter for lunch which looked better but she said left her hungry... Lunch was $30+ for each of us...

I was recommended Momiji from a close friend, and decided to go on a dinner date here. From the entrance to exit the experience was amazing. At what first seems like small sushi bar opens up into a lively restaurant with a tranquil courtyard garden. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the serving was great. The food though, was amazing. Easily some of the best sushi I have ever had. I believe we got the Capitol Hill roll and another special. The portions were very good. Two rolls were perfect for two people. The mochi was also really good. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the tempura vegetables, but besides that everything about momiji was stellar
Very popular place. I'm so glad we had reservations. The back dining area had a beautiful view of a small Japanese garden. Food was amazing. The server was knowledgeable and patient with our questions. Highly recommended! A+

I made a reservation and had the $85 omakase and it was amazing! Staff was friendly and provided high level details about each plate. If you want to add appetizers, desserts and/or more from the chefs course, you are able to order from the a la carte menu. I highly recommend this place!
The rolls we ordered were creative and yummy. I especially liked the mr perfect roll and neverland roll. Their portions were on the small side and we ordered two more rounds of food. Also they need to upgrade their dish cleaning service. One empty bowl was dirty so we asked for an exchange and then another dirty one was served. This happened a few times.

We had the omakasa experience, it was delicious and accommodating since I dislike uni, they substituted for Alaskan salmon. The green tea and ginger was free and generously filled all service. The first few courses were great, the later courses had more flavor, very creative and well thought out menu.

They also gave us miso soul ON THE HOUSE. Going at night was perfect their lighting was on and the wait was extremely fast even tho everything was so busy.

Came in for Table dining, and was pleasantly surprised :) really good quality experience. The hojicha panna cotta is extremely good, which I think you can only try if you're at the Table dining and not the Omakase at the sushi bar.

I wish that Shiro would've used a bit more local ingredients. While it was still really good to have a variety of fish from around the world, fresh local ingredients near the sea are also just as appealing for me but maybe there's more to it that I don't understand.

If you're looking for quality food at a quality restaurant, definitely give Shiro a try!

Momiji is a sushi haven that redefines excellence. The artistry and precision in every sushi piece were unparalleled. Freshness burst in every bite, making it the best sushi I’ve ever tasted. The minimalist yet elegant ambiance and impeccable service completed a remarkable dining experience. Momiji is a must-visit for anyone seeking top-tier sushi.
I was very skeptical when my vegetarian friends recommended this place. I was amazed how close the taste of vegan sushi is to the real sushi and loved all the different options, though it was too good that it was hard to choose from! The presentation is beautiful and the staff ai friendly! I’ll definitely return.

Went here for company dinner and it was not bad. The tempura was as expected and we got the 4 person omakase which was huge. I enjoyed most of the different fish in the omakase. Can't speak on the pricing because the company paid for it anyway but 40 dollars for 1 person omakase is pretty standard pricing for this kind of place. A bit sad they didn't offer salmon otoro though. Not sure how their rolls are, my teammates ordered some but I didnt. The lemon drink I got was okay nothing special.

This is typically a 150$ per person dinner, probably more like 200$ at the bar, so 4 stars seems to appropriately reflect my impressions given the context.

I have not tried any of the even more expensive famous other sushi places in Seattle, but this one provides fantastic quality of good in a pleasant (but not perfect) atmosphere, serves by a great waiting staff.

The courses in the set dinner (the only option the table) were well composed, the waiters found a good balance between competently informing about each nigiri, while also not going overboard with explanations. The drinks menu is pretty much limited to sake, wine and beer, and there are some additional dishes that can be ordered to complement the dinner (I had the clam miso and an ikura nigiri). The experience at the bar seems the more interesting option (no places were left on the day I wanted to eat there), which brings me to the biggest drawback of the place. As much as I enjoy minimalism, and I do, the restaurant has a type of barebones furnishing of a mid-low quality that is not uncommon in the US, but to me as a European seems to not go together with the quality of the rest of the experience. This is only a minor downside for me, but it’s hard to understand why no more effort is made to make the tables and floor look a little less like canteen in the 1970s. Again, this will not be visible if you are sitting at the bar.
Long story short: I would go again but would make sure I get the bar experience.

Really enjoyed the Chirashi bowl - there were so many different types of sashimi served on the rice and the portion was incredibly filling. I ordered the Nigiri Regular Platter on another occasion and the fish was fresh and excellent! Service was also great!
It was our first time here and first time trying vegan fish. I’d say everything was delicious and the service was quick.

We had green goddess and red dragon. Red dragon was spicy but we really enjoyed it.

We could really see the sushi chef’s personal touches to the restaurant, from the jazz music to all the different paintings on the wall. The environment was not what I expected of a sushi restaurant but I really enjoyed the cozy, artsy feel to it. For appetizers, we ordered the vegetable tempura, which was lightly battered and pretty crispy. Then we got udon, I forgot which one, but when we tasted it, the broth was really sour. We asked the waiter to bring it back to see what was wrong. The sushi chef then came to our table to apologize and said that one of the chefs added vinegar to it. We got a new bowl of udon and it tasted way better. The rolls we got included the spider roll, cucumber roll, negi-toro roll, and godzilla roll. They were all okay. Finally, we ordered the sushi deluxe which was the best part. All 7 types of fish were really fresh and pleasant to eat. Overall, if you were to come here, maybe skip the rolls and definitely get the sashimi deluxe!

My absolute favorite sushi place in Seattle. The quality of the fish is unmatched, and the menu is full of great options. Everything here is perfect from the nigiri to the sashimi to the rolls. I highly recommend the paradise roll, it is probably my single favorite sushi roll I’ve ever had. Come here if you want great sushi in Seattle.
Absolutely delicious japanese food makes you feel warm , cozy, and modern. You travel to a calm place else when you taste their food. It's definitely a must try place when in Seattle.
Very kind and friendly staff!
And we caught the happy hour , it was so good and very delicious food options.
Definitely, the price is worth it. It is not too much expensive too. Woaww!
You should try Yakisoba and garlic chicken!
Thank you so much for today 💗 ~ 🍜
Hands down the best vegan sushi you will ever find anywhere! The best I’ve ever had. Better than Beyond Sushi in New York (which I absolutely loved, don’t get me wrong) and better than Planta! Seriously, no place will ever come close to this for me! I recommend the Seattle Tempura Roll. I’ll be thinking about it for awhile! So delicious! Definitely make a reservation if you want to sit outside in their nice outdoor area.
Small place run by a nice Korean lady. Sushi rolls are good and cheap. Korean fried chicken was also good.
Although there maybe one or two other fantastic Japanese restaurants in the Seattle area, I consider this the best of the best! The fish are the freshest you can find and come direct from all around the world! The White Maguro (white tuna), OMG! It melts in your mouth with such beautiful presentation! YOU MUST TRY the chefs special - crunchy rice with spicy tuna! It was so good we ordered it three times! I took my wife for her birthday, who has never been, with our daughter visiting from Italy and her college roommate visiting from New Zealand - they couldn’t stop talking about how good the food was and both agreed it was the best they’ve ever had! The place is packed so a reservation is a must! Get there a little early as parking is street paid parking! If you love real authentic Japanese food - hot or cold - and you don’t come, absolute shame on you! You’ll thank me!!
My vegetarian partner and I are on a mission to eat all the plant-based sushi we can find and we were blown away by the sushi at The Sushi Samurai when visiting Seattle. This restaurant was serving regular sushi up until a year ago but you would not be able to tell the difference with their converted menu. The chefs clearly treat plant-based food with respect. Not to mention the outdoor ambience is really beautiful and our server from today (who happened to be the owner’s brother) was so friendly. We ordered the Samurai, Maui, Ring of Fire, and Red Dragon and all were excellent. Highly highly recommend!
So fresh! The sushi rice was very delicious. I love how tasty the sashimi was, they were like melting as I put it into my mouth. And the service was great! Definitely recommended!!!
Cute little hole in the wall place; prices were good, but the food wasn't the best. We had the volcano roll, Salmon Lover, and Sounder rolls; everything was super salty and over saused, and the fish was not fresh.
I have been going here for several years and have never been disappointed with the food. Also love having the water view here. The sushi is consistently great and there are many rolls to choose from. This time, we tried the banana spring roll for dessert. It tasted similar to bananas foster. The plum wine was also good. I do miss when they had booth seating a few years ago. It felt more cozy than the current chairs they have.

Visited with our dog and 1 year old. We didn’t make reservations and was told that we could sit out on the patio, but they had to have it back in 1 hour.

The food came out super quickly. We got a Seattle roll, a Spicy Rainbow roll, and a seafood yakisoba. The food was good and the waiters were refilling our waters often and such.

In total, it was $58 after tax but before tip. Would definitely go for a casual meal again!
Loved seafood gyoza. The portion size was good too.

Tempura shimp was strictly ok. Nothing great. Had better tempura shrimp. I would avoid that.

Spicy rainbow specialty roll was amazing. Definitely a must try.

Casino royale specialty roll was really nice. Definitely a good option.

Geisha roll was really good.

The portion size and ambience was good.
Definitely must visit.
Great food and great service; from drinks to rolls there is so much to choose from. And the staff are attentive and friendly.

Not cheap; but so worth it. And come hungry, good sized portions. I would have had more pictures but my South Lake Union roll was to amazing to wait.
Came for lunch with my family. Place was very busy. The server was very helpful & friendly. We really enjoyed the sushi. All the dishes were extremely fresh. Would definitely come back.
Great sushi for the price. Order online to skip the wait. Only take out when I have been going. My favorites are the spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Everything is 50% always and the roll counts are large (compared to more expensive places downtown). Great place to grab some takeout and go to gasworks or another near by park.

Nice and quick customer service. The prices were okay even though it’s 50% of all rolls 24/7. I’d never go here if it wasn’t for that “deal”. Anyways the sushi was average. The California roll crab salad was okay. This place isn’t like Japonesa or momiji. Small place, about only 8 tables.
