Best restaurant I’ve eaten at so far during my 10 days of vacation. The food is delicious. My server was so kind! She helped me out in English since my Italian is limited. Great atmosphere! I had high expectations when I saw Rick Steves endorsed this restaurant and then read the wonderful reviews. My experience exceeded my expectations!
The bread came in a plastic bag. It seemed old and was mostly ends. The wine was delicious. The food pretty tasty. We were the only ones there at 19:30 and they turned away multiple other guests due to being "full". We felt privileged to have a table. We thought it was because we are Americans, but I think it is more likely that the staff just hate their lives.
An absolutely gorgeous meal in a dreamy setting. A little off the beaten path which we loved, and recommended by our kind host. Would highly suggest getting the gnocchi and the chicken, which were both sensational.
The smell of spices lured us in from the street. The food, wine and fine service provided an excellent experience.
One of the best food I ever had. The owner and the chief was specially kind and very caring with us. The place is very charming. The food was incredible. If you don’t taste it, you’ll regret it for sure !
Lovely trattoria with truly excellent food, the antipasto of salumi & formaggi was of very good quality, as were the Strangozzi with wild asparagus and black truffle, the ricotta gnocchi and the braised veal cheek. Portions are definitely generous and the flavors are genuine and ver my well balanced. Service is kind and efficient, we enthusiastically recommend!

The tagliatelle verdure was Indian inspired and excellent. The eggplant parmigiana was excellent.
I asked the Italian speaking server recommended a dry red wine for me and it was really good.

What an absolutely memorable experience! Everything was stellar! Indian and Italian fusion like nothing we've ever imagined. My husband and I walked by this restaurant after another could not accommodate us for the evening. And I'm so glad we happened upon this amazing spot.

The restaurant was in a more quiet street which we really enjoyed. The staff was really nice and the food was amazing. We got their gnocchi which were great and the mixed grilled meat (veal,pork ribs and sausages, chicken). They also have off the menu plates which sounded really appetising.
I normally never eat at a restaurant more than once on a vacation so I can visit as many as possible. I ended up eating here three times on our visit to assisi. The food and the atmosphere and staff are amazing.
All the pastas (including the truffle pasta) were very delicious! The 80s oldies were wonderful, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful x she took a wonderful photo of our family.

This restaurant provides traditional Italian foods and fusion of Indian foods. The owner lady is very kind and fluent of speaking English, so we didn't have any trouble to choose what I want to eat.
Gnokki with truffle was savory and talliatelle alla ragu was also good! For antipasto, I recommend salmosa, which looks like pallapel, but it made me feel taste of Indian cusine.
Overall, I was really impressed by the enthusiasm of the owner lady and great taste of all the dishes!
I think it was worth trying, if you go to Assisi and look for where to go to have lunch.

Me and my friends came to eat here tonight, and it was quite fabulous. I was worried about gluten (I'm allergic) yet they mark the allergies with numbers and it was quite easy to find something edible.
The food was a 5/5. I had pork wrapped in bacon with onion jam and potatoes on the side, and while the potatoes were something I could've made easily at home, the rest wasn't. It was beautifully tasty, best pork I've had. It also paired decently with my wine.
The service was also a 5/5. Abdul (hope I'm spelling your name right!) was awesome and very nice. He knows very good English and was great with the service, and seemed very much to care about his job.
The outside atmosphere was lovely, 5/5. It felt nice not being inside and having a quite nice atmosphere.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We went pretty early in the night as it was one of the only places that was open before 7:30. The food came out quick and was extremely delicious. Highly recommend!
I came expecting great things based on reviews and recommendations from a famous travel advisor. I was pretty disappointed by my pasta dish and even more so by the veal. Neither were presented very well. The spaghetti dish was presented in a frying pan, which was unique, but there were zero garnishes to provide visual interest. It tasted okay; just the right amount of spiciness. The veal, however, was way overcooked to the point of being dry. The sauce, of which there wasn't much, was okay. The presentation could have been much better; the veal came with a little sauce on it, a pile of fried sliced potatoes, and that was it. Looked a bit sorry to me. The glass of house red paired well with the spicy pasta dish. I stuck around for the recommended dessert and was happy with it; it was presented well and tasted delicious. It's a local favorite; a bit like an apple strudel but with nuts. It had vanilla cream added and was topped with powdered sugar.

Sublimely good restaurant - great service - very knowledgeable staff who gave brilliant recommendations - perfectly seasoned dishes and really good range of wines. I was reduced to silence by the taste and experience of my dessert ( white chocolate mousse) "Il dolce mia silenciato" .

When in Assisi do not miss this place. All of the other 5 star ratings speak to all true aspects of the wonderful environment that is this restaurant. The energy of the place is peaceful, the food exemplar of precision and expertise. The chef and wait staff warm and welcoming. Chicken marsala, amazing. Whenever I'm in Assisi I will be found here.
This place is fantastic! Highly recommend stopping here for a mid-day meal - and what a selection of veggies, pastas, meats, contorni, desserts, and wines! Great self-serve/cafeteria atmosphere! A nice place to meet up with friends or your tour group. And the staff - family! - are super friendly. Andrea and his brother are amazing, patient and accommodating, ensuring each guest leaves satisfied. I’ve already eaten here a few times and will soon return.
It's a shame I can only give 5 stars! I cannot find words to recommend this place highly enough. The staff welcome you with smiles, although I don't speak Italian, my efforts of attempting pronunciation were so warmly welcomed and encouraged. The food was sensational. Easily the best meal I have enjoyed anywhere, EVER! My friend was celebrating a 50th birthday, they made tiramisu, added a candle , recommended champagne.....they couldn't do enough. If you are looking for recommendations, take THIS ONE!! Do it, I urge you to try it. I wish the delightful owner and all the staff all the best for the future.x
It is a nice restaurant in the centre of Assisi. At Il Vicoletto, they serve delicious Italian food with a twist. It's not the standard dishes you get at many places, just a little extra.
We searched out this discrete little restaurant and are very glad we did. It's down a little lane and may look closed, but try the door. We had the Lamb with herbs on velvety potato and the Sea Bream on fava beans and salted ricotta with some excellent house wines. Both dishes were really tasty and better than they look in the photos. Go for the food, not the views.
We had a wonderful evening on the terrace, it was the patron of festivals for Saint Francis and we could watch the celebrations. We really enjoyed every mouthful, fantastic, classic Italian food with a modern twist, cooked by Horeno. Stefano was welcoming we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere.
Nice restaurant in a great location. You can enjoy the view of a little plaza with a water fountain if you dine outside. Carbonara was ok!
Nicht ganz günstig, aber richtig richtig richtig gut! Der Käse und die Wurst aus Umbrien war das Beste, was ich in ganz Umbrien gegessen habe. Die Pasta mit Trüffel ein absoluter Traum. Das Mangosorbet war ebenfalls das Beste, was ich je gegessen habe. Das Ambiente ist sehr schön, Service war auch sehr nett.

A hidden gem with a very nice and rustic atmosphere. A great variety of dishes, which are all beautiful presented and taste delicious. A great place to go, if you love truffles. Recommend!
I had the best meal in Italy. This place is a 10 on 10. Everything here is so tasty and made with quality. You can taste it. I was served by Francesco who did an outstanding job serving. Grazie!!!
One of the best meals we had on our 3 week stay in Italy. Charming owner, who was clearly proud of his place and his food. We are vegetarian, and they had a lot of great options, and the owner made excellent recommendations. The house wine was fantastic. There are Roman ruins in the floor and wall, so be sure to check those out. Very inexpensive, considering the quality and atmosphere. Not crowded at all, when we visited.
Surprisingly there was just 1 other table seated. The owner and waiters were very nice and welcoming. The owner spoke perfect English, the waiters not as much but that’s why there is Google Translate (I’m still learning Italian). The atmosphere was very pleasant, we were seated right by the remnants of an old Roman road 😳😲! The service was wonderful and the food was delicious, we all enjoyed our meal tremendously. I hardly ever write reviews, but this place is worth it!
My husband and I had a fantastic meal here while visiting Assisi! The food was absolutely delicious and freshly made, the tiramisu for dessert was truly gorgeous. All the staff were so friendly and attentive! We will be back next time we are in Assisi !

Absolutely gorgeous place to eat. Sat on the terrace overlooking the fountain. Food was gorgeous along with whole experience would recommend this place to everyone who visits Assisi we had an appetizer, main and a bottle of wine. Staff were friendly made us feel very welcome. Hopefully there will be next time.
only one word: WOW, coming from NYC, the food from there has nothing to do with this home made food, excellent taste and great service, definitely we will come back if we will have the chance…

The perfect place for truffle lovers, with a lot of variety for those who don’t really like the expensive condiment.
The service is amazing, with very kind waiters that will help you gladly with any question you might have.
I recommend the pasta over the meat, and my friends tried some of their desserts and loved them, especially the passion fruit one.

Fast and low priced tasty food! Realy well stuffed buffet..
Tried 4 main and 1 antipasti. This is definitely one of the places to visit on the hill in Assisi. The owner has her peculiar «Emploi», but it doesn’t hurt the kitchen in any way. Enjoy their pasta, goat cheese with honey, meat, lasagna. Rose and white whines are fantastic.
OMG the nicest people in Italy! We had a really abundant vegan lunch for an affordable price. The nicest service in Italy ever. I want to go back!

Food warmed up in a microwave is not tasty. The chop was not crispy. Spaghetti was disgusting, my daughter only taseted. Fish salad was not tasty. We are very dissapointed.
We ate here 3 times in 2 days. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. We come to Italy every year, this time for a month. We know great Italian food when we taste it. We highly recommend this trattoria.
Very generous portion, fast service and nice wine (montelfalco rosso). However we find the food very salty for both the pasta dishes and meat.
Cafeteria/ buffet style restaurant. The day we went two large groups of tourists ( including ours :)) went in and they were serving everyone promptly. Customer service was exceptional as well. Staff were friendly and helpful with food selection. I ordered a yummy house salad, fruit cocktail, fried chicken and some patatine frite.

We got to Assisi a little past 7:00 P.M This restaurant opens at 7:30 pm. We waited until it open. We didn’t have reservation so the hostess told us that she could seat us but there was a reservation for 9pm. That by that time we

This is a homely eatery ensconced within a frescoed vault run by a lovely local family (who were eating dinner at one of the tables as we ambled in around 7:15pm). Service was attentive without being overbearing and I appreciated being allowed to sample several wines before settling on one we liked (as we were unfamiliar with the local wine offerings). The food was fresh, unpretentious, and completely unsullied by the usual Americans affectations which tend to overshadow the essence of these dishes, and the dessert while initially seeming plain turned out to be hidden gems. Would recommend to travelers after an authentic Umbrian culinary experience.

Resonable prices, quick, delicious, great service
Nice atmosphere, great service and delicious food. The starters were divine and everything was very fresh. View of the city square, making it a perfect place to relax in the evening.
We were recommended to this restaurant by our host and it did not disappoint. It looks touristly but turned out to be very popular with locals. Everything was delicious but the lasagna with bacon, mushroom and truffle was something uniquely flavourful to us. Their ham was also very decent. Service was actually pretty fast compared to the average. Recommended to arrive early for lunch since the place was full after 1245.
Amazing home style Umbria food. While the service takes a bit of time, the food was unbelievably delicious. You can tell that quality regional ingredients are used to cook up the dishes here. Must try for me is the taglietelle with porcini, tomatoes and bacon. Recommended to book ahead or arrive early.
Wir haben heute Mittag drei verschiedene Nudelgerichte bestellt und sie waren alle sehr lecker (Tagliatelle, Ravioli und Strangozzi). Der krönende Abschluss war dann aber das Tiramisu 😍 und das warme, halbflüssige Schokotörtchen.
Der Chef war sehr nett und zuvorkommend und hat außerdem hervorragend deutsch gesprochen! Das Ambiente ist toll und einladend. Beim nächsten Besuch in Assisi kommen wir sicher wieder und freuen uns jetzt schon.

They served us cold food and microwaved all of it in front of us. The quality of everything was really really bad (even the simplest of things to cook were messed up, the fries were sloppy and the potatoes tasted expired), we were with a big group and there were none who even enjoyed the food a little bit. The prices were way too high for the self service. I am highly disappointed in the reviews I read on google, very sad to see that some people actually enjoyed this food.

White lasagna, mixed grill, cinghiale stew, ash potatos(cooked under the ashes). Every morsel was soo delicious I hated to finish! If I ever return to Assisi, my tastebuds and stomach will take me back to Da Erminio! Atmosphere is terrific, staff is great and I got to watch them hand make meat stuffed tortellini.
Dine on the 2nd floor terrace, even if it’s hot outside and only the tourists are willing to brave the sweltering summer heat! Get a cold bottle of Grechetto, and it will be so worth it! The service is friendly and attentive. The food quite good. We were not disappointed.
Hidden Down a tiny alley one finds this gem… Il Vicoletto. The ambiance was welcoming and friendly. The home made bread so attractive and super tasty. A meal in top 3, we’ve had on our 43 day journey. Tagliata di vitello on a bed of the sweetest figs, a delicate Gorgonzola sauce and topped with shaved truffles. All paired with wines recommended by the owner. We savoured ever morsel and didn’t want the meal to finish .. it deserves 10 stars.
Lunch at a typical Umbrian trattoria, tucked in a corner of the central square but was packed when we visited. No wonder, as the food was incredible and we had a nice window seat. The cappellacci al pecorino di fossa e miele di acacia ... simple and yet so good 😍😍😋😋
OMG delicious! So good, so fresh, so worth the visit. And the patio dining is the best. You can hear the people walking through the alley, talking.

Visited at lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, the attentive staff and the authentic regional food we were served. Regionally grown vegetables roasted to perfection. Wine is served by the bottle or glass - and they do offers the little bottles of wine which was ideal for lunch time. The artichoke veggie plate I ordered was perfectly prepared- and thoroughly enjoyed. A great find!!

In fact, a couple (God bless them!) seated at a nearby table noticed that we had been waiting for a very long time and brought this to the attention of the waiter serving them. They asked for two more wine glasses and informed their waiter that they would like to share their carafe of red wine with us because they noticed that we had been waiting really long for any form of service. Only then did a waiter come to get our order.
I won't go into more details but suffice to say, service remained really slow.
