First time with Veronica. I’ve been coming to European Wax since they first opened in NY and have been to many of their locations. This is by far the BEST experience I’ve ever had at any location! The front desk was very courteous and very accommodating considering I was a walk in. They offered me an appointment immediately with a Waxing Specialist, Veronica who was a REAL PRO! Quick, easy and painless service. She’s so experienced and knows what she’s doing. The very BEST experience I’ve ever had! Veronica is truly the BEST specialist! LOVE HER! Thank you!!!
Wilma is one of the most caring woman you could meet! She takes her time, perfectionists, gentle if there is such thing getting waxed… I highly recommend her!
The staff there was very sweet. Shaina was very gentle and was very friendly. She made conversation with me to distract me from the pain and handled my squirming very kindly and professionally. Delightfully recommend Shaina for your waxing needs ❤️
First I want to say I have never had a wax before so I was extremely nervous. Having the thought of someone being down there other than my spouse is a little different for me. But Chanel made the experience well worth it. She was fun bubbly very patient and she talked to me throughout the whole way. Oh and how can I forget about the front desk employee I didn’t catch her name but she was super cool also. The room does look like a hospital setting but they do try their best to make it comfortable. I will be booking again. Thank you Chanel.

It was my first time at Shobha. It was my first time getting waxed. The wait was short and I was made to feel comfortable. It was a fast and easy process and I am very pleased. I was curious about their products and bought some (there is no pressure to do so).
they did a great job, they were just not very friendly. the woman at the front just stayed on the phone the entire time she was helping me. i felt kind of awkward. i've been to a shobha in williamsburgh and everyone was really nice there.
Tamika is AMAZING ! She takes her time, doesn’t rush and the most important thing is that she makes you feel comfortable! If you looking for a person to wax you .. SHES THE ONE I PROMISE! I hate scrolling looking for new Wax Specialist so I understand how some of you may feel trying to figure out who to let wax you but if you choose Tamika, you won’t regret it.

This location is always clean and the staff are friendly. Appreciate that they’ll try to move up my appointments when there is availability. Nanaka is the GOAT at this location and have been seeing her for years. She is a quick rip so the experience is quick and painless. Nanaka is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making you feel comfortable throughout the process. I go out of my way and travel to a further location to make an appointment with her always. She is the greatest and I appreciate spending the time chatting with her for the hour or so!
I really like Sabrina's work. She did my eye brow that stay the same for two months, no extra hair growing around it. She did my facial and i fell asleep very relaxing. very gentle.

Meenu did such a great job on my eyebrows - she was able to see how they naturally grow differently and made sure to balance them out accordingly. She's very sweet and enjoyable to talk to as well, I will definitely be coming back here next time.
I have been going to Shobha for eyebrow threading since I moved to NYC 6 years ago - specifically Sovadevi. She is simply the best. I could not recommend anyone better for eyebrow threading. I always look and feel like I got a face lift afterwards. Practically pain free too.

Sovadevi is incredibly talented with eyebrow threading, I’ve gone to her for years even before Shobha moved their location from Columbus Circle to UWS and have followed her post move. I’ve tried other technicians but her skills are truly unmatched! I trust her with my brows over anyone else. She’s the technician to request!

However, when the sugaring service started, I was very surprised that the sugar was warmed and applied with a stick and muslin, much like soft wax. I confirmed with the technician I was getting the sugaring service, and she said yes, they use the same process for waxing and sugaring, just different substances.
I have been getting sugared for nearly 2 years at various locations across the country and have never received a service like this. Prior, I had been waxed and found that sugar works significantly better on my hair than waxing. I kept an open mind, uncertain if the benefit of sugaring is just from the ingredients or from the process using the cold sugar ball.

jessi was so sweet to work with! she was super personable. i’ve used EWC for nearly a decade now so i didn’t have any pre-wax jitters, but i know if someone was totally new to it, jessi would def help them feel comfortable

I've been coming here for over 5 years and Sona has been doing my eyebrows since the first day I went. I ABSOLUTELY love her and I'm sad she's not there. If anyone knows if she's working somewhere else please share. The last time I tried to book I didn't know Sona left I wish there was some form of communication that went out. I chose to book with Geeta while she was good, one of my brows was a bit messed up. Sona and I have been working on that brow for some time to get it a deserved look. I showed her some pictures but it didn't help much because I was new in her chair.

Have been coming here for a few months now and Geeta is wonderful. Though I rarely make an appointment they see me right away, and are transparent about pricing and options. Geeta treats me with kindness and walks me through the process of the bikini wax. What might otherwise be a (potentially painful) chore is a breeze.
I see Geeta for brows and she is amazing! I was new to threading when I moved to NYC, and after seeing Geeta once I have never gone back to waxing. I recommend her to all of my friends and have even been stopped by strangers who have complimented my eyebrows. It’s easy to book an appointment on Vagaro but they also accept walk ins and have great hours. Definitely recommend.
I came to Le Parlour for laser hair removal treatments. I am very happy with the results that Shelley and Maya were able to obtain for me. They were patient, professional, and thorough and calibrated my treatment for my skin type. I appreciated the detailed notes they took during each session that helped improve my treatment plan. I plan to come back to Le Parlour for any future treatments I may need.

Such a welcoming environment! I booked the Advatx laser acne treatment and saw results after the first visit. Shelley took the time to explain the process in detail which really put me at ease. Highly recommend.

The acne laser treatments may work well, but with the lack of personal space, professional setting, and weird pushy energy to purchase products and pay for multiple sessions at once, I will not be continuing sessions with them.
For such a high price tag it's better for me to continue this process at a more established dermatologist office that feels more comfortable and isn't trying super hard to make sales.
With that said, I do appreciate how kind and attentive they were while performing the treatment and I wish them all the best.

I had the option to bought two sessions of pedicures I used one of it in June and the other one expire in Nov 17 which I call to make an appointment for it. Someone told me they can only use one session and I asked why they have the option to purchase more than one. Very disappointed with them I tried to cancel it in Groupon there are no option to caned or trade in. My money gone in vain.
Poor manicure, requested a square shape and for all the nails to be the height of the shortest one and to not take length off the shortest.
The shortest was made shorter and uneven with the rest, when I mentioned this the therapist snapped and proceeded to not speak for the rest of the treatment.
Not only were the length and shape not what I asked for, it chipped already on the same day. Not worth $50 in the slightest.

I love Olivia she’s professional. I was nervous for my first time. Olivia made sure I was comfortable and explained the process every step of the way. She also made good recommendations for care after. In addition was given some samples to help. I was extremely pleased with the overall results. I highly recommend her. I will be back for my next follow up! ☺️

I went here about a month ago for a first time (ever!) bikini wax, and I loved and definitely would recommend it here!! I had the pleasure of meeting Chelsea, who was not only patient with my anxiety about the whole thing, but was extremely nice, funny, and supportive. She made me feel completely comfortable and explained the whole process before doing anything, as well as explained good after-care and recommended some products when I asked. Shelly is the owner and incredibly accommodating. For those who are shy on the phone or screen their phone calls against scammers, she texts so you’ll always know what you’re getting.
Maya is also incredibly easy to work with and she will teach you how to care for your skin and check that the laser is working! She’s always making sure you’re safe and that your skin looks great.
The first time I got laser, it DID hurt…but Shelly held my hand haha. And Maya instructed me how to breathe as to help me manage the pain.
This is a private room so there’s nobody else there. The waiting room has a bathroom and water station so if you come early or need to take a call, it’s very easy. And it’s very centrally located, right off of Madison square park.
These women are just so nice and easy to work with. I’ve been doing chemical peels at a dermatologist and laser hair removal here and I have to say, after both treatments are done, I’m for sure coming back to le parlour and only le parlour.
Update: I don’t even know how many months later. I’m addicted to Le Parlour and their offerings!! These women are PROs.
Double update bc I just read a review that I totally disagree with (Looking at you, JADE): yes, the space where the laser happens is on the smaller side. But anybody who has gone to any kind of aesthetician or has gotten waxed would be used to the size of the space. So I’m not sure why this would be a problem for anybody, let alone any New Yorker. ADDITIONALLY, I was on the larger side of bodies and I usually HATE going to beauty places bc they’re not body inclusive spaces and everyone there is oppressively skinny and I always feel like I’m going to break something or I’m too big for the offices, and I have NEVER felt like that at le Parlour. So yeah, it’s small…but I would rather take a small, clean room that has good energy and cares for their clients and doesn’t shame them over any large space that doesn’t accommodate people at whatever size.
The waiting room is large, with lots of seating. I have taken meetings there while waiting for my appointment (bc I have a mtg heavy work schedule).
Lastly, the products that Maya and Shelley offer are great. And smell really good. But I would never say they’re pushy. In fact, they’re more than understanding when you tell them about your financial situation.

Her attention to detail is unparalleled, and she always goes above and beyond to make sure my nails look absolutely perfect. I’ve been waxing with Corina for longer than I can remember and she is spectacular! She is so skilled there is minimal discomfort & it’s a fast experience. It’s everything you want from a wax salon.
Super dissatisfied. This place doesn't use proper sugaring technique. They use strips like for waxing and their sugaring paste is liquid like wax instead of hard paste. It was too hot to the skin and technician said she can't lower the temperature because the sugaring will harden. I have fine, light hair. It didn't even pull the hair properly as when I left I had a lot of it remaining all over. I expect at least no hair when I come for waxing or sugaring.

I only go here for waxing. I'm not sure of the price in relation to other places, but I have tried quite a few waxing experiences and I trust this place the most. No gimmicks, professional, and very clean. They're very quick and efficient, which with my sensitive skin is a must. I communicate a lot during the session, and they're very responsive - and if I'm feeling a lot of pain for some reason, they adjust what they're doing to accommodate the extra sensitivity. Because I'm sensitive, I take a pain reliever 30 minutes before my appointment and that helps for a good session (good advice for any waxing session).
I've gone several times since last summer and have had good results. I am usually chaffed afterwards due to the heat of the wax, but aloe (or something aloe-based) has usually helped for topical areas when I've gotten a Brazilian over the years. Grace is always very attentive/thorough in hair removal and incredibly friendly, plus the price is comparable for spaces in Manhattan. Though for my latest appt I've had continual bleeding on the inner area and it's been several hours. This hasn't happened before this current occasion, so I would still recommend this place. I'd say even if you don't feel soreness immediately, make extra sure to double check the waxed area and ask the waxer to double check that there's no blood or broken skin.

I was quite prone to painful hormonal acne, and after just one treatment I experienced major changes to my skin. Walked in. Had my socks knocked off. I’ve never seen sugaring done with strips but it was not painful AT ALL. Why would I go back for traditional sugaring? The only reason I took a star off is that while I was a walk in, the wait time was longer than originally told and the price is quite a bit higher than I would normally pay. There was only one person on staff that day but she was SO FAST without cutting corners. Definitely would go back.

I have been seeing Grace for over 4 years and cannot say enough good things about her or her services as an esthetician. All of the reviews are true! She is efficient, patient, flexible, and so kind. I have never before looked forward to a bikini wax until I met Grace. She provides a painless service and an appointment with her is like a visit with a good friend. I have also had the great pleasure of a wax with Savita and received the same first class treatment! Savita is equally efficient and kind. She made me feel welcome and comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. You will not find a better pair of estheticians!
I've been going here for body waxing for a little more than a year now and they've been consistently quick, thorough, and relatively painless. All the specialists are really nice and friendly and use breathing techniques to help you get through the more painful bits (something I haven't experienced at other waxing places and is really helpful). The soothing cream applied after definitely helps with redness and recovery. Love coming here.
I have been to Waxing By Grace several times and have gotten wagon eyebrow and bikini waxes from Grace and Joice. Grace is lovely and has been running this business here for years. She does a very great job and she now does my pickiest friend’s eyebrows and that friend is very happy too! Highly recommend.
Took a chance and walked in on a random day because it was super close to the office and my nails looked gross. I have been going back for two years now! Nancy does an incredible job, does not rush through it and my gels last forever. I really appreciate that she does not use an electric device to remove the polish. I love my nails!

I absolutely love this salon. I saw Francis for 6+ years and only stopped because I left the city. She has done my waxing, and lip/eyebrow threading this whole time and I’ve never been disappointed. Besides her amazing threading skills, she is attentive, patient, and kind. Shobha’s scheduling and cleanliness has always been better than the others too. Overall, 5 star experience every time.
So happy I got in Grace’s schedule! She was so gentle and professional. Bringing her down to earth, sweet and caring personality into the session was such a plus.

Grace is the simply the best. I am so lucky to have found her. She is incredibly thorough, gentle and pleasant. For someone with sensitive skin, I’ve never had any reaction or pain post wax. I would recommend her to everyone!
This waxing center is by far the best! Corina is such a beautiful soul — she is kind, respectful, and amazing at what she does! Corina will leave you nice and clean (no hair left behind!). I started coming here back when they were located next to Kaufman Studios, and then they moved to Manhattan and I'd still take the time to go there, and now that they're back in Astoria I am super excited! I've been going here since probably 2015 and I have no complaints. The people who own it are extremely lovely, professional and clean. They never double dip. I always show up early and my appointments have either been done earlier or started exactly on time. Corina is a very lovely lady who really takes care of her customers. Luckily you can pay with card so no need to bring cash.

It was a great and comfortable experience. My esthetician, Francis, is really professional with a sense of humor and let me feel more relaxed during the whole process. It took only 15 minutes to finish and it was not painful as imagined at all.

Grace is very sweet and did a great job! She made me feel super comfortable and was so understanding when it came to some concerns I had. The waxing itself was the least painful compared to other places. Definitely a happy customer and will return!
Mark was very rude to me over the phone. First, he asks me to email to him. He gave me a different email from the first time I talked to him, then says he didn’t get it because he didn’t check it. So, Mark gave me a different email to email him on. When I asked if he had time to talk this time, he says he screams “I NEVER (F-word) SAID THAT! WOULD YOU STOP (F-word) WASTING MY TIME!” Totally unprofessional. He went back on his word. Good luck to him.

I get extreme ingrown hair in my bikini area. No matter what i tried, wax, trim, shave, tricks and hacks none worked. It left me with alot of discoloration and scarring. So i decided I'd try laser hair removal but heard stories of women of color getting burned and it not working. But new laser came out, YAG, and it was supposed to solve this issue. I picked Le chachet because they specialize in women of color and after talking with Sofia i felt safe.
I was lucky to catch a special and got 7 sessions for half price. Its worth the money.
Sessions took 15mins. Every 4-6 weeks. You start off at the lowest level and every 2 or so go up a level. Have to shave the day before. If you miss any they will shave you. If there is hair it will burn and smell like burning hair and might be painful.
1st session painless and easy. The gel was cold. The cold air coming out of the laser i felr more than the actual laser. I whipped the gel off after and continued my day normally. Hair grew back and some fell out in a week or 2. Grew back the 4th week but very thin like baby hair.
2nd session went up a level felt it but not too bad. I left the gel on after my session.Same hair growth as 1st session. Note wear a dress so all you have to do is pull it up.
3rd session same level same minor pain. Definitely left the gel on after session to help cool skin. All Hair fell out in a week only some of it grew back.
4th session went up a level and i definitely felt it. There was some "bumps" after but no burning, area was sensitive for a few hours .Sofia ask if i needed any breaks she would but i just wanted to get it over with. Same hair growth/ fall out.
5th session was very painful. I had to ask Sofia to stop a few times. I had more bumps after and kept the gel on all day. My hair took a while to grown it and all of it fell out and only a few hairs stayed. I tell sofia the areas that grow back and she makes sure she focus on them.
6 and 7 session i was at the highest level and i got some numbing cream that i put one 2 hours ahead of time in 30 min increments. The pain was there like how it felt on my 3rd or 4th session. But wasnt horribly painful. I would definitely recommend it for the last few sessions. Only a few sections grew in but mostly bald. And smooth.
To help exfoliate and get rid of dark marks and stop ingrown hair i use pfb vanish, the light blue one. It really helps.
I have to go for check up like 2-3 times a year or as needed until the hair doesn't grow back anymore. I very happy and no more painful ingrown hairs.

Got my first facial this past Saturday 9/10/16. Sofia was great. The atmosphere is calm and beautiful. I am going back this Saturday for a facial peel.
I am giving them 4 stars because the woman who performed my services was WONDERFUL! She made the experience worth while.

I made her aware these were promos on their website and we confirmed the prices. I thought it weird that she didn't know what the promo and prices were, but since we discussed it and she was in agreement at the time, I didn't think anymore of it. I am super excited because we got there 1 hr early and they allowed me and my friend to store our bags while we went to PS450 to start my BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION!
We get back, and began my services. The body wrap was wonderful.....nothing like being lathered in chocolate! Then the aromatherapy massage...Awesomeness! So last we are there to begin the microdermabrasion. Mila evaluates my skin and decides that I should get these other treatments. I consider her advise, but want to know how much. She gets the woman at the front desk (who just happens to be the woman I spoke with on Wednesday) and she proceeds to try to negotiate prices that I didn't want to pay. So I say just give me the microdermabrasion like I originally asked. Oh now we pretend we did not have a conversation on Wednesday about the price of the microdermabrasion and tells me the price is like twice as much as what is displayed on the website and what we discussed. By the way, it's still showing on the website. She did the same thing for my friend who made an appointment for the microdermabrasion. In addition, she tries to tack on an extra $55 because Mila gave me a scrub with my body wrap. WTH! I've never been there before this visit, I figured the scrub was apart of the body wrap. I told you what services I wanted, isn't it your responsibility to know what I should receive?
So while I would consider going back, I may want to come with my own agreement or contract for services to be sure there is no funny business. Kinda pissed me off that they would try to scam extra money out of me and my friend on my BIRTHDAY!!!!

Its true Le Cachet Day Spa is not a Trump Tower, however its a very nice and most importantly a very clean place. I been there number of times already with good experience. The rooms are a bit small, but I didn’t go there to dance. I went there to receive good spa services. Each time I visit, the staff of Le Cachet spa treats me with courtesy and great care. You can tell they care about their clients and its make me always feel good. They are good what they do, when I had my first laser hair removal consultation with them, I felt confident in their ability and expertise In laser hair removal. You can just tell, they know what they are doing, they performed thousand’s of laser hair removal treatments by now, and the result as they told me, after 6 treatments I will have no more hair… I already have no hair growth after my fifth treatment. And I will go back to complete my treatment, so no hair will grow back. I am very satisfied with Le Cachet Spa laser hair removal treatments I received, they use some kind of two systems during laser hair removal treatment, one removes the hair the other cools the skin surface, so no pain being felt, its really great.
I arrived about 30 min late at Le Cachet Day Spa and Laser Center, for my Laser Hair removal appointment, the girl at the front desk was not very happy for being late I could tell, but she was very nice to me, and sent me in without delay for my laser hair removal treatment. It was my 4-th laser treatment and I have absolutely no hair growing on my body, they told me I need 6 treatments minimum, but I don't have any hair growth since my treatment's at Le Cachet Spa, I am not sure I really need the two more recommended treatments. I am convinced that Le Cachet day spa uses the best laser hair removal lasers based on my own experience.
