Food and service were spectacular. My wife is Gluten Free and they brought out a special Gluten Free menu just for her. Our server was very accommodating to our requests and everything was delicious!

Tryst is a solid spot in Arlington, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Their coffee drink special featuring Bailey’s, vodka, and Rumchata deserves 5 stars on its own—rich, smooth, and with just the right kick! Plus, the drinks here are stiff and absolutely worth the price, perfect for a night out. The service is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home.

I have to deduct a star, though, because the Vietnamese pork ribs didn’t quite hit the mark for me. They were a bit too salty and had a gamey flavor that I found overpowering. But overall, Tryst has a great vibe, and I’ll definitely be back for those drinks!

We've been here twice. Obviously we liked it enough the first time to go back again. The menu is simple and everyone gets the same thing: artisan-baked bread, a salad, a plate of sliced steak and frites.

The only decisions you have to make are what to drink with your meal, whether you'd like an additional side (like grilled mushroom) and how you want your steak cooked.

And when you finish your steak and frites, they bring you another helping!

You will leave satisfied.

They do have desserts, if you're so inclined, like a giant ice cream sundae. But we were so full both times that we couldn't even think about dessert.

There were some small hiccups. Our server brought us salads after we'd already had our salads brought to us by another server. And my wife's steak was overcooked so she had to send it back. But that's not uncommon in steak places. It certainly won't keep us from going back!

Incredible experience at this restaurant! The meat was simply outstanding—perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. Every bite was a true delight. The cozy atmosphere perfectly complements the quality of the food. Additionally, the service was impeccable, especially Silvia’s attention, who took care of us with remarkable kindness and professionalism. She made our evening even more special with her recommendations and attention to detail. Definitely a place we’ll be returning to soon. Highly recommended!

We had our rehearsal dinner here back in June, and it was truly the perfect way to kick off our wedding celebration! Taek, the owner, went above and beyond to make our evening special—he helped us select a custom menu that fit our tastes perfectly and even printed out personalized menus for our event, which added such a thoughtful touch.

The food was absolutely delicious, and to top it all off, we had the most incredible tiramisu from the in-house pastry chef. The service was impeccable from start to finish; everyone was so attentive and made us feel well taken care of.

We started with a private dinner in the back with our family (including two toddlers and some allergies!) then opened up the area for welcome drinks as guests filtered in from out of town. It was a seamless transition and the whole staff was so kind and accommodating.

We couldn't have asked for a better experience and are so thankful to Taek and the entire team for helping make our night so memorable!

Beautiful layout and great vibe in the restaurant. Loved the atmosphere. Not overly loud like most places where you can’t hear your own family. Food was exceptional and the service was the best I ever had. Can’t wait to go back.

I recently attended an event at Medium Rare and had a pleasant brunch experience. The menu was short and straightforward, which I appreciated—it made ordering quick and easy. I had the steak and eggs, a fruit salad, coffee, and two drinks: the hibiscus margarita and pineapple mule. For dessert, I chose the apple pie with ice cream.

The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking (medium), and the fries were also great. However, the scrambled eggs were a bit cold, likely due to the volume of orders being prepared. The apple pie and ice cream made for a satisfying finish. Both drinks were enjoyable, with the hibiscus margarita standing out as a particularly tasty choice.

Overall, a solid brunch spot that I would recommend.

Bottomless mimosa brunch!
I recently came here for the first time with a very large group (about 35 people) for Saturday brunch and the experience was nothing to speak about, so here’s my review:

Service: our group RSVP’d long enough in advance so the restaurant was aware that we were coming in with a large number of guests. They had a long table set and ready for us upon arrival and we were able to be seated right away. One waitress came by to take our drink order after being seated for about 15 mins (1 for a group of 35) and another waitress came by about 10 mins after the first to take our food order. While we waited for our drinks and food, baskets of sourdough bread were brought to each table. The food took extremely long to come out, understandably, the kitchen had a lot to prepare for our group and we weren’t the only ones in the restaurant, so I understand having to wait. Our servers brought out everyone’s drinks one by one at first (mimosas) and we’re not even asking anyone if they wanted anything to drink for a while before they finally realized that they needed to bring carafes of mimosas in order to not have to keep refilling our glasses.

Food: I wasn’t too impressed with the menu options, as there were only 5 options (2 of which were almost exactly the same: steak and fries, except one option came with eggs and the other didn’t). I ordered the French toast with sausage and the person next to me order the steak and fries. Every single one of the 35 guests in our group received their food order, but somehow, mine was forgotten. By the time I tracked down a server to notify them, most of the group had already finished eating their meal. I will say, when my French toast came out, it was hot which was good and I was given a large portion. The French toast was easily shareable between 2 people. It was crisp out the outside and soft on the inside (it was a little too soft/mushy for my taste, but others seemed to enjoy it). Although I didn’t personally try the steak and fries, the steak was cooked how everyone requested it and came with a sauce. Mostly everyone who ordered it enjoyed it and said it was good. Every entree also came with a side of either salad, parfait or fruit cup.

Atmosphere: this restaurant is spacious and also offers outdoor seating with umbrellas. They have a parking garage and street parking available and it was clean inside as well as the restrooms were small but clean.

Come hungry or not, you’ll love the food. They offer a set menu of bread, simple salad and a bistro style steak and fries served with a delicious butter based sauce. This is essentially in the tradition of L'Entrecôte whose founder first came up with this idea and developed the world famous proprietary sauce recipe. Only at dessert, you get to have choices. Nothing is as good as the original, but when I’m not in Paris this definitely would satisfy the urge. We sat outside which was very pleasant and felt I’m in a traditional French bistro. I will come again!

My family and I (including two picky eaters aged 6 and 2) visited this place, and we all loved it. The meat was of excellent quality—tender and lean, served with a truly delicious sauce. Even the salad was impressive, with a fantastic dressing.

We spent 4 days on vacation in Washington and ended up dining here 3 times. We absolutely loved it!

Gotta say . . . I was skeptical of Medium Rare when I first heard about it. I wasn't sure I'd like a prix fixe menu. But I was proved wrong, because I absolutely love this restaurant! It's something fun and different, and the quality can't be beat for the price! We come here often and it's also a place we like to take friends and family when they visit. Love!

I had heard many good things about Tryst, unfortunately either they had an off night or something else..... I had the ravioli, which I knew to be handmade, but when it came time to cooking it, it just wasn't cooked enough! And how do you say that without sounding like you like it beyond al dente (I have made ravioli in Rome and in Positano in cooking classes and I know al dente pasta - this WAS NOT that. It was close to raw) But the worst part was watching the goof ups that the wait staff made, most likely due to understaffing. I mean everyone was waiting and bussing tables, waiters, bartenders, the receptionist and even the cook staff!!!! I would not recommend this place. (I borrowed someone else's photo)

Not a bad restaurant. For a place that focuses on steak, I expected the steak to taste better. I ordered medium rare, got it well done. The waiter replaced it immediately though. The complaint I have is, when you get the steak medium rare, the middle of the steak is very chewy. It’s not tender like a medium rare steak from Texas Roadhouse, no matter what the cut is. It just didn’t feel like the quality was great. For $29.95 you get a max of 2 plates of steak & fries, a salad, and bread & butter. The salad and bread was good. The fries were amazing. I’m pretty sure they’re freshly made. The sauce on the steak is great. Atmosphere was good too.
I’d give the steak a 6/10. I expected better. The portobello mushroom side was really really good. Smoky flavor and very tender.

Fantastic service with flavorful and perfectly cooked food. Don't pass on the chocolate bread pudding. The bourbon steak tips and schnitzel pork loin were both excellent.

I ordered a beet salad which I order at many restaurants. I love beets. The beets that they put in there were pickled and tasted terrible. Really ruined a beautiful salad otherwise. And the piece of salmon that I had put on top was not fresh. So had more of a fishy smell. The menu didn't even describe the salad as having pickled beets. The oysters were superb though. As was the chicken sausage flatbread. The decor is pretty bland and not appealing at all. The lighting is terrible.

Had the ricotta ravioli and they were delicious. On their own they weren’t very flavorful, but the sauce was excellent (mildly salty at times but this is usual when eating out at American restaurants overall I fear). The zucchini on the bottom were delicious and went well with the rest of the dish. I’m used to getting only a few pieces of ravioli that are not that great, even at well rated restaurants, so I was happily surprised by these. I feel like getting ravioli is a test of how good the restaurant is - so this one will be worth coming back to for a second time. Service was excellent and the inside is spacious enough that it feels like a good meeting spot. Not too loud, good lighting for an evening meal.

We started off for the great corn chowder and lobster kind of soup. The chicken and salmon entrees were good but not to the level of the soup. Which was a bit disappointing. Service was good and a quiet atmosphere.

Such a nice experience. Food was incredible. We got the Truffle Fries, Bourbon Tips and Ravioli. All are winners. Service was great, Deanna was super personable and friendly. We both agreed we hadn't had food this good since Italy (perhaps we don't go out enough). We both agreed the Bourbon Tips were 10/10. As you can see we ate literally everything.

Short rib sandwich and popper peppers were quite delicious.
Regular fries were super salty. Trufle fries were better but you do not taste trufle much.

Food is fantastic here and portions are outstanding. They had a decently sized outdoor dining area. We ordered the chicken sandwich, a burger, and the roasted carrots. Also ordered a mixed drink which was really tasty as well. Service was exceptionally slow though and the only thing bringing down the rating. Would def return!

Great food, great service, attractive interior. We had burrata beet salad, wild boar tagliatelle, and apple cinnamon bread pudding. It did NOT disappoint. Delicious. Great value.

It's a nice restaurant. Ordering is quick and the wait is short. They have great wine and reservations are easy. Parking is easy and there are booths available for multiple people. They also have outdoor seating in the summer which is great when the weather is beautiful.
