I am not someone who most would think of as the tea and scone type but my sister set this up for my b-day. Worth It! I had the Thai Chai with tomato basil soup and finger sandwiches. My sister got the tea service tray and let me try a few items. No fails, the whole meal was a win and I downed two kettles of Chai. Would recommend and come back.
Decent accessibility for both chair users and cane. I used just my cane this trip as it was a better walking day but have come here before in my powered chair. The staff are always accommodating and kind.

There are vegan, gluten free, and dairy free options and they are wonderfully done. While I would love a just dairy free option with regular flour for myself I always love seeing dairy free options with meats and eggs. As someone allergic to dairy it is difficult to find places to eat that aren't strictly vegan. They were kind enough to sub out some things I additionally couldn't have for things I could.

Not going into the tea itself. Hard to beat to lovely flavors and blends. And with a bottomless pot with your high tea meal it is easy to try several options and feel satisfied and pampered. Highly recommend as a cute brunch spot or a romantic tea for two.
I enjoyed high tea here a few years ago and was keen to come back with my partner. The interior is beautiful and I love the attention to detail. There is a wide selection of tea to choose from and I enjoyed the Mumbai chai. I was surprised to see our teapot arrived with no tea bag or tea leaves inside. I don't order tea often but when I do, the tea is left to brew which is great for those of us who enjoy a stronger cup of tea.

I ordered the vegetarian high tea and my partner had the standard. There was little difference between the two. His arrived with one chicken sandwich and my alternative was a tofu sandwich which unfortunately I didn't enjoy. The sweets were good but again, for the most part, my partner and I did not enjoy them. I appreciate that this is about individual taste rather than the actual quality of the sweets. It is not possible to order anything else from the menu on the weekend other than high tea.

The website lists a spring and a summer high tea amongst others. When our bill arrived, I was under the impression, given that we are still in spring, we would be charged for the spring high tea however this was not the case. When I asked, I was informed that the spring high tea menu ended on mother's day and that they are on the summer high tea menu. This surprised me as we are still very much in spring.

Over the years I've tried several different high tea options both here in Canada and overseas and unfortunately this high tea wasn't as enjoyable as I had hoped.
The food is always excellent and I love their themes. I have been so many times and have never been disappointed! One of my favorite tea places in Van!

This place is delightful. The owner has picked her staff well, and she is growing her business the right way.

They offer coffee, but tea is the soul of the enterprise. They even catered to my palate, which tends to the dark and strong end of the spectrum.

I have often thought of offering a review, but now I am going to do it.

This spot is a small treasure.

amazing service, every barista is super friendly and all have remembered my drink order after 1 or 2 visits!! the owner is such a sweetheart as well. fantastic matcha lattes, well worth the price!
There are a handful of High Tea salons around town, and they all share the same exorbitant prices. Upwards of $60 for a three tiered delight of sweets and savouries, you are paying for the "experience".

This includes being surrounded by a medley of disparate but charming decor that somehow manages to look like it all belongs together, the use of fine china dishes, delicate teacups, and usually an actual bowl of sugar complete with a tiny metal spoon. A rounded pot filled with aromatic loose leaf tea rounds out this teaparty, a decidedly more adult affair than the one we used to have as kids using stuffies as guests.

High Tea is a luxury to be sure, not an everyday event. The Secret Garden was my go to, but I was persuaded to try Neverland. I wasn't expecting anything different in terms of the novelty, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much better the service and overall encounter was.

At Secret Garden, you choose one tea and are stuck with it for the duration of your stay. It is also up to you to steep it for however long you see fit. Neverland is unique in that you are encouraged to try different teas after each teapot is drained. I think that I sampled at least four. Not only that, but they actually brew and steep the tea for you so that the guesswork is taken out of the equation. A great marketing strategy on their part, as if you happen to fall in love with a particular tea, it is available for purchase.

Foodwise, the items at Secret Garden are laughably smaller than Neverland's. And the famed lemon tart and egg salad on a pink bun
that are constant fixtures on the Secret Garden High Tea menu have long since lost their appeal.

I am a carnivore at heart and usually give vegetarian items a hard pass, but I found myself tentatively nibbling on the vegan savouries and finding them to be surprisingly delicious. That alone has ingratiated Neverland to me, because trust me, I'm the first one to decline any vegetable that crosses my path.

Our server at Neverland was constantly checking up on us and ensuring that our table always had a steady stream of filled teapots for my party and I to mix and match. Once the server delivers your three tiered meal at Secret Garden they seem to disappear and only reappear to hand you the bill.

Suffice to say you never need to settle for a merely passable High Tea service again. Head over to Neverland for a few hours of enchantment, where everyone is indeed mad as their sign implies, but in the best way possible.
On Saturday my husband and I had afternoon tea at Neverland Tea Salon in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I am coeliac, my husband is not.

While they advertise it as a high tea, it is not, as high tea denotes main dishes served alongside tea sandwiches and pastries. This is an afternoon tea.

For $55 CAD (+ tax and tip) I got the gluten & dairy free tower which comes with 5 sandwiches, 4 sweets, 1 scone with jam and dairy-free cream and unlimited tea. There is not a gluten-free only option, only gluten-free & dairy-free or gluten-free & vegan. If you order the vegan menu, it's served on ceramic rather than bone China.

My husband had the traditional tower, which was also $55 CAD and came with the same number of items.

$55 CAD = $40.14 USD = $61.77 AUD = €37,53 = £32.23

Personally, I only liked 2 of the 5 sandwiches and 2 of the 4 desserts. I liked the scone. I felt the food was extremely underseasoned and dry, like the food was old, not dry as in the default texture.

I had my husband take a bite of everything I ordered to compare to his traditional tower, which had the same items except one dessert. On every item, he said his was option was more flavourful and better.

I'm sure many people aren't ordering the gluten-free dairy-free menu as often, but I'd prefer to order ahead when booking the reservation than have food that tastes like it may be leftovers. I'd also suggest that the chef tastes as they go to make sure the food isn't underseasoned.

While it's nice to get unlimited tea during the 90 minute seating, I feel like you're paying mostly for the ambiance. Like every afternoon tea I've ever been to, it's very loud, so don't expect ambient piano music.

The service was quite good but overall, I wouldn't go back for the gluten-free & dairy-free afternoon tea.

This is one of the most popular places to enjoy afternoon tea. It offers tea set at $55 per person which includes savories and sweets serving in an elegant 3-tier stand and never-ending pots of tea.

The savories and sweets in the tea set are so so in terms of taste, but they look very nice and portion is generous. Tea instead is probably the highlight. Their tea list has a vast array of tea for selection including white, black, green, roobois, oolong fruits and herbs... I took me quite some time to figure out what to try because there were just too many. At the end, I had the Russian Rose and the the Heavenly Cream.

The seating time is 1.5 hours. I can assure you that you won't be able to finish the tea set unless you do focus on eating. But what's the point of going there if we didn't enjoy the environment and did a bit of girls talk. I guess that's why 99% of the customers there were ladies and everyone was leaving with a takeout box. 🤣

Joellen.. Steam Tea House founder/owner… A stellar businesswoman. I’ve been getting my Matcha from her for over 8 years now (I think). Excellent products.. they go above and beyond to research teas and requests for blends. They also made the best Matcha latte I’ve ever had! Highly recommend 💯

A cute tea shop that has a large selection of high quality tea and friendly and knowledgeable customer service! Would recommend!
Cute and cozy salon. Very busy but still functional. Every item on the menu was delicious. You can try unlimited teas. We got three each and all of them were good.

As everyone else mentioned, the time is limited to 1:30 hours which feels rushed. They come check on you every now and then and in the last 30 minutes they’ll let you know so that you can get your last round of tea. By the end of 1:30 hours you should leave the table so that they can accommodate the next group.

Overall it was a good experience but next time we’ll probably go somewhere with a more relaxed schedule.

Came here with my Valentine's date--we made a reso ahead of time and sat on the sofa. Just an amazing time with excellent food and service. The Afternoon Tea set is varied, thoughtfully designed, and really filling. Well worth the value. Thanks for such a lovely time, we'll be back someday! ❤️

Staffs are very knowledgeable about teas and coffees. They serve beverages with heart. They have really good London Fog and Matcha Latte. The atmosphere is super relaxing, a good place for mini dates and meet ups. Although they don’t serve food (for the time being) they allow outside food to pair up with their drinks. Definitely one of my favourite cafe/tea shop in Vancouver.

The Missus received a treat from her boys and had high tea with her long time friend, Auntie Rose.

The Missus arrived early but the Secret Garden filled up quickly. She noted the acoustics was quite loud when the place is full. The service was friendly and they adhere to their 2 hour seating time limit. The food was bite size savoury and sweet delights that were more than plentiful for two people. She had enough for a take away so that the hubby could consume at home. The Missus thoroughly enjoyed her high tea outing.
We had a lovely birthday tea with my friends last weekend. Your service was impeccable! We have a lovely time

I’ve been here about 3 times. Great atmosphere. I wish they gave out the teapots with warmers / candles to steep the tea properly.

Not ideal for large groups. 4. Max 6 people.

Expensive for the quality.

Clean bathrooms and cozy space!
Had such a lovely afternoon here for high tea! We needed vegan and gluten-free options. They are SO accommodating. Everything was delicious, and beautiful. Amazing tea!! Our server was wonderful.

Love the variety of teas here, and the employees are super friendly! The shop is pretty small and seating is very limited, so probably not a spot to set up a laptop and study, but a great place to catch up with a friend.

This tea house in my neighbourhood near to the W 41st Avenue serves nice tea for here and to go. They have limited space but the interior is nicely decorated. When I entered the tea house I was warmly welcomed by the staff member with genuine smile. This made me feel better for the day.

I ordered a matcha latte for my first time here. They offered sweetened (with honey) or unsweetened. The tea latte was mildly sweet and silky that you want an encore.

This is a nice place for a cup of tea and in fact they also offer coffee also. They don’t sell foods but customers are welcomed to bring their own bread or cake.

I will come back again to try their other gourmet tea.

Utterly adorable and genuinely super cute and fun. A lovely place for an afternoon date with a tasty selection of little bites (I'm going to be thinking about that turkey pesto sandwich for a hot minute) and my tea never got cold.

This tea shop is conveniently located across from the Kerrisdale community centre where the kids love to go after they have visited the public library.

The owner is friendly and great with kids. Drinks are made with high quality ingredients and will definitely bring the kids back in the near future.
New fav place! Brought my mother here for afternoon tea as a birthday gift and we were both incredibly happy with the experience!
Recommend getting a reservation as this place is popular (for good reason).
Beautiful cups and saucers, quiet relaxed environment, big tea menu - something for everyone. The food for the tea was varied and all was delicious!! They even gave us a little baggie of tea leaves (the same mom had enjoyed) as a birthday gift. Will 100% be coming back again!!

I love this place - for High Tea or just a quick cuppa and a snack (all I had time for on my latest visit)! It is so pretty. They have an excellent selection of fine teas, including some special and exclusive blends. Their food is sublime. I usually enjoy their sweet scone with cream and jam. Late in the afternoon, they had no more. But my server suggested a cheese scone, which came warmed and was large and heart-shaped! It was delicious.
My only (mild) criticism is that it can be quite noisy when the tearoom is full or if there are a few large groups. If more was to be done (e.g., with wall coverings?) to absorb sound, it would be absolutely perfect.
Nice ambiance, but some chairs were old and shaky.

Limited menu options, I wished there were options to add additional items or customize the order.

Average food quality and taste.
Cookies were good, but not exceptional.
Staff was supportive.

One major concern for me was the price-to-quality ratio. At $52 per person, the experience and food received did not justify the cost. In my opinion, the value was closer to $25 per person. Reevaluating the pricing strategy could help align it better with the dining experience.

Overall, a mixed experience that could be improved.
Place was so aesthetic! A bit antique looking with cute tea cups and decor. Food was amazing and in perfect sizes and portions. Servers were really nice and had a smile on their faces. They asked us if we were celebrating anything before they brought the food. It was my birthday so they stuck a little fondant heart that said “happy birthday” with a candle as if it was a birthday cake. They went out of my expectations to do that and it truly made my day. They customize the message on the fondant for different celebrations, so really it’s such an amazing touch to everything. Overall, we had a great time here. This is definitely a place worth visiting, despite it being a tad expensive, but I assure you, it’s worth the price :)

Easy booking system - I could select that there was a Vegan dietary requirement.

Everything picture you see is from the Vegan High tea.

The establishment is very clean and has a very homey feel to it. The decor is good with lots of different tea sets places around the room. Good spacing between tables and doesn't feel too crowded, even when it's busy.

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. Lots of checking in too, to make sure we are doing ok. At times a little too much haste with the plate collection, as my partner's plate was attempted to be taken twice when it wasn't finished with. Secondly, one of the berry crumbles had no crumble on top. Thankfully our server went and got another one for us. Everything else had so much time and effort put into the food. It was a shame about this one thing. It was obvious it was a different amount too. (Picture attached).

We bought the homemade loose tea as we enjoyed it so much. (Thank you for having this on offer).

Great combination of flavours and great ideas for all the foods.

The price (I feel) was steep for what is served. One benefit, you could try any tea after your first at no extra cost. It would have been nice to also keep the tea menu at the table after ordering. I also understand why it isn't...

Overall Experience - 4/5
This was my first time having high tea here. I was really looking forward to this place with all the hype and reviews people have been giving but after being there for two hours and paying more than 80$ per person, I would not come back. I mean, the atmosphere and food were mediocre. Don’t get me wrong, their high tea set is cute to look at, but flavours were really nothing that extraordinary. Their high tea set comes in three tiers. My favourite was their bottom tier, which was all savoury. It’s questionable whether or not their pastries are baked on a daily as their scones are kinda dry and the frosting on their “cupcake” was stiff and not fluffy like it is when fresh. Their selection of teas was just right. Our server didn’t seem to wanna bother with us besides taking our order and asking us to pack. Overall, nothing that special about this place but people’s pictures. Give it a try for yourself, but be warned. 😅🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh. And there’s no parking, so you gotta figure that out on your own.

P.S. I would give this place 2.5 stars, but there are no half stars so… 🙊

This is my favorite place to go for high tea! I have tried a couple of different ones recently and I must say this one is the best! The portions here are pretty good, but I do wish that you get both the savory & sweet scone and not one, because it's delicious and I'm a pretty big eater 😅 I will be back every time they do a menu change.

The picture I posted is from their Spring menu. I love how every item tasted freshly made, nothing was soggy or lukewarm. This was very apparent to me at some other high tea places with their cucumber and egg salad sandwiches, but Adonia has gotten that down pat! All the cold items were served cold and all the hot items were served warm. All the items that were baked stayed crispy. The lemon dill shrimp salad was fabulous. The scones were warm in the center and crispy on the outside. It's nice to go with another person so you can split your scones. Each person gets 1 (savory or sweet)

There is pay parking out front but if you don't mind walking, there is lots of free parking in the side streets. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time, it is a very cosy space and you do not want to be disappointed by just walking in.

I would 💯%, 10/10, 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 recommended this place!

Highly reccommend this high tea place. I had their regular Autumn tea set and it was delicious. Scones were warm and flavorful and I loved everything served (which is usually rare)..could not find one thing I didn't like. Bonus points for matching tea sets, very aesthetically pleasing.

Very small restaurant, but beautifully decorated and the service was great.
Planning on making seasonal visits to try all their specials for sure.
