Had Special Veg meals here and it tasted the very same as we get in Tamilnadu, India. First time got an opportunity to try Saravana Bhavan at US and definitely worth visiting this one at Dallas. Food service was excellent and fast as well.

Excellent service and very tasty food . Mind it , it’s not spicy or oily food like any fast food and regular indian restaurants. Food is very good and prices are very reasonable. Our order arrived very quickly by the time we washed our hands.Good washrooms and washbasin . Staff is very friendly and helpful.Decent parking and convenient location.
Well placed near so many shopping malls and business houses. Restaurant is very clen and hygienically managed. Services are decent. Food quality is excellent.
We had the lunch buffet here. We saw it being rated high on Google so decided to give it a try. I should preface this by saying that I understand that food is generally bland in a buffet. That said, when it comes to Indian food, you can make it less spicy but keep it flavorful. I would not say that was the case today. Their buffet does offer a good variety which is of good value for the $18.99/person. The restaurant was also clean and the staff was friendly. But the food itself is where most of the negatives are.

This is clearly a South Indian restaurant so I expected the South Indian food to be a lot better than other foods. Idli was dry but tasted good. Uttapam was good as well. Both the texture and flavor was good. It was a bit surprising that they didn't have any coconut chutney but still the chutneys were flavorful. Sambhar (to me) was salty and not very good.

Moving on to the entrees. They had about 6 different vegetarian dishes. The green peas were VERY salty, navratan korma was without any flavor as was most other food. I'll say that the palak paneer is where they've perfected food that's flavorful but not spicy. The paneer Manchurian was extremely watered down & malai kofta just tasted like pure cream w/o flavor. This is my gf's favorite food. She tried one bite from my plate and didn't even get some for herself.

Moving on to non-veg: tandoori chicken was nothing to write home about, but it was not bad. Chicken Tikka and chicken 65 were straight terrible. The most disappointing thing to me was that chicken curry (which I would qualify as a. Main South Indian dish) was watered down and was very oily. It was so bad that I didn't have the courage to try the goat curry. Naans were well stocked but they were rather hard and had been sitting for a while.

Lastly, the ras malai was decent. May be even slightly better than decent. Mango custard was pretty decent as well.

To summarize, I may be willing to give this place a 2nd shot at dinner but would not eat buffet here again. We were really craving Indian food and what we had was a very salty, watered version of Indian food and I would 100% recommend against eating buffet here.

What the Biryani is a delicious biryani spot in Irving!
"What the Biryani" in Irving has quickly become my go-to spot for mouthwatering biryani and more. Their tandoori murgh and tawa fish are absolute standouts, and I can't get enough of them!

The biryani here is a true culinary delight. The blend of spices, tender meat, and fragrant rice creates a symphony of flavors in every bite. It's flavorful without being overwhelmingly spicy, making it perfect for all palates. And the portion sizes are generous, so you'll definitely leave satisfied.

Now, let's talk about the tandoori murgh – it's incredibly juicy and succulent. The smoky flavor from the tandoor adds an extra layer of deliciousness. Pair it with their flavorful naan or rice for a fantastic meal.

And the tawa fish! It's a must-try for seafood lovers. The fish is perfectly cooked and coated with a delicious marinade that's bursting with flavors. It's a unique and delightful dish you won't find everywhere.

The service is friendly and prompt, and the ambiance is cozy, making it a great spot for both dine-in and takeout. Plus, their prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive.

Whether you're a fan of biryani, tandoori dishes, or seafood, "What the Biryani" is a culinary gem in Irving that you shouldn't miss. Highly recommend trying their tandoori murgh and tawa fish – you won't be disappointed!

Overly priced for the portions and give you unfiltered tap water. If you want bottles they charge a dollar and they aren’t cold either. Coming from an Indian, it’s not worth your money. They even gave us the wrong dish twice. Just don’t do it.

I always had good experience with Chai and appetizers. Recently I had Tirunelveli Halwa and the bad rating it just for that. Halwa was so bad it felt like they went out of their way to make it bad. They owe an apology to Tirunelveli for dragging their name thru the mud. I have never ever had such a pathetic dessert and I have had worst before this.

Yesterday, on account of vara lakshmi vratham, I felt like eating authentic andhra sweets and curries thinking that food be will be good.
Here are my comments.
1.
I have been in Irving/Dallas and in other places in USA for last 11 years. The prices here are very and very and very expensive. Do they think people are fools to spend for the high prices with limited quantity? If so, iam one of the victim
2. I ordered poornam boorelu. I never know that the this sweet is made of sugar instead of jaggery with cheap quality.. and that $2 each one .
3. I ordered sweet pongal. We can call it as sugar syrup rice.
4. I ordered biryani chicken dum for my friend. It was smelling and the pieces are salty and you can find hair in it..
5. I ordered Dondakay fry and tomato dal. I can’t imagine even dal is worst and Dondakay fry is not fry its something else..
—-
Summary:
I generally don’t write reviews . But I made some time to
Write this…
Guys who are going to buy all the very best..
——
Never and ever , even if they offer for free I don’t go.
$91 waste…

My go to South Indian vegetarian restaurant. Love their Dosas and Uthapam. On the Dosa list, my fav are their ghee masala dosa and the onion tomato Uthapam. On the rice items, nothing beats the Ghee pongal and Bisibilla bhaat for me. Delicious!! They’ve maintained the quality and taste over the years. A must try if you’re looking to venture into south Indian food. Quite reasonably priced as well.
Seems too expensive in recent times. Sambar was $7.5 and for that quantity it's not worth it is what I feel. also there are next to no vegetables. Also the taste is not worth the price.

Mainly people go here to get Indian curries that go along with the rice or chapati/flat bread. I used to go to this place sometimes when I feel like not cooking. This place also has a lot of snacks. But nowadays it's getting expensive.

No dine in and just take out.

OK let me write a clear review on this Restaurant usually I don't write reviews but definitely Owner needs to check this
Firstly I visited 2 times to this restaurant and 3 togo orders total 5 times.
If you want to get good food, go on weekdays never ever visit on weekends . Weekdays they make very good food and good service
weekends they sucks the food and bad service
every item will be disaster.
On the togo side they make only biryanis good rest of the item sucks and its very less quantity.
Below picture I have ordered togo paneer, jeera rice, naan, roti As you can see they gave paneer in a samll container and charged 14$ that container hardly worth 9$ also as jeera same box its hardly worth 5$ for jeera overall taste is average.
Either they need to increase the quantity or decrease the price.
Overall I can give 3.5/5
Nice place for hangout! Feeling nostalgic like India style chai ki tapri which was great 👍always crowded! So you can spend chit-chat time with Chai, Dosa and other snacks at reasonable prices!

An exceptional experience with traditional flavors of Indian cuisine. The staff were extremely kind and polite and even stayed open for us when we arrived near closing time. Food is spicy, and the spicy option is authentic Indian levels of heat, but the flavors were unparalleled. The staff was very friendly and brought out the food in a timely manner. The atmosphere was very pleasant with Indian music playing in the background.
It was definitely a unique find in Dallas with the restaurant being inside the Days Inn. 10/10, would go back!
I have visited this place several times, sometimes with friends and sometimes with family. Regardless, we've had the best service ever. I have to give special mention to Mr. Arif (hopefully spelled his name correctly). He's one of the reason why we feel very welcomed and wanting to come back. He makes us feel at home and always smiling and cracking jokes. The service also makes the food and atmosphere feels great! I would come back again anytime.
Maybe Sunday lunch is their busiest time but it took 45 minutes after the ETA provided through their online ordering system to get our 2 individual dishes. It seems like the online ordering system doesn’t increase the ETA and always just says food will be ready in 20 minutes. This restaurant seems to serve a lot of family style meals and 20 minutes does not make sense if there are 5 family style meals ahead of yours. We arrived at the ETA, they told us it takes 20 minutes to make food as if we had arrived early, so we left and ran some other errands, we came back 30 minutes later thinking we had given them ample time but the food still wasn’t ready and the employee at the counter told me 2 more minutes multiple times, I ended up waiting about 15 minutes. We like to order this food to go as the ambiance isn’t great in the restaurant but I’m not sure we can navigate the unpredictable wait times. Hopefully this was an off day, nothing was offered in compensation for the wait time like a free drink or explained as to why it took so long so I’m thinking this may just be typical for Sunday lunch.

AMAZING food. WTB has excellent Indian food ranging from biryanis to curries to appetizers it has something for everyone. The atmosphere is awesome as well, playing straight bangers on the speakers, and they have a stage for karoke. Deepika (one of the owners) came to talk to us as well, and she was humble and happy to be able to serve us. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here. Portions are large enough to where we ordered 3 dishes for 6 people, but if you are really hungry, you should definitely get more. Make this your go-to indian spot in Irving.
The Food was great and especially the hospitality and service is great, the girl in the front end task is very sweet and friendly. Had a good experience 🫶

I have ordered Lamb Biryani but I have got Rice over Lamb curry..... which is not at all acceptable and not even up to basic standards.... very upset :( As well egg Bonda was definitely not from today. Desi bites - Retaining an existing customer is equivalent to gain 10 new customers (Store Manager : Attaching the receipt as well)
At the time of writing this review I am at the restaurant and let me say their spicy level is ridiculous and I ordered medium. Chili chicken has flavor of shrimp, upon complaining they said none of their customer complain about the food. Their veg biryani was ok though. Will. Never visit this place again.

I would like to share how worst their service and how less they care about customer experience. I ordered $100 worth starters and they gave 2 tiny pieces(not even slices) onions. I asked for few extra onions and they were like I was asking extra free appetizers or something. After few minutes of confused faces I said I’ll pay them for their awesome customer service they agree to give few more pieces for $2 plus taxes. Wahhh, selling onions like Kashmir sindhur. Worst experience, zero respect given here for customers.

My latest experience was very disappointing. DO NOT order in bulk . we used to get max 6-7 methi parathas from Rajwadi earlier, so went for it to order for a party at home , yesterday I ordered like 30 , they were not fully cooked in the middle, some of them 80percent of the Paratha was not cooked properly , I had to make them fully cooked again on Taawa. And it was a very embarrassing situation for me in the big sized party. 😵‍💫 😨

The Indian food is ok, but the customer service is not, especially if you are not Indian, since the moment I entered the place, I felt not welcome there. I witnessed how they treated a Door Dash guy who was trying to explain himself. They were rude with him and with me that I was a customer trying to help. Please people you have to give a great customer service to everyone, it doesn't matter if they are other culture or nationality, be emphatic with others. There is nothing more valuable than sensibility and to be emphatic. You have a great location and yummy food. Do not spoil it with your rudeness.
Indian is my favorite cuisine, but Amarillo doesn’t have much variety. Dallas however has plenty. My lips are burning and I’m sweating. That means the Indian food did its job!

Excellent food with unique dishes. They have amazing grilled sandwiches. Had the Amdavadi touch and Chicken masala. Also tried the new Gotalo 2.0, wasn’t disappointed. Very clean place to to eat with modern vibes. Also it’s BYOB.
Both chicken and mutton biriyani are amazing. Need to eat on paper plates.
The place is as common as for South Indians especially Telugu people where you can find all the veg and non-veg dishes served deliciously over the counter for parcel or eating at the restaurant itself.
Along side the restaurant you can buy all the Indian groceries at affordable prices.
The place is very near to the main road. There are few mor Indian restaurants in the surroundings of this restaurant.

The cashier lady is rude and a liar. This was our first visit. We were ordering a few items. Anyways, we decided to remove an item as we didn’t want it but maybe she didn’t understand and the transaction already went through. This is where you’ll see the cashier lady blatantly lie. Since we paid by card, she refunded us with cash but not the complete amount of the cancelled item. She said prices have changed and the menu board with the prices on it needs to be updated to be lower. Inspite of telling her few times, she did not budge even me telling her that I have never heard any food place lowering their prices. However, our receipt showed the amount on the display, so I went back to the counter and told her that we are missing money and also the sales tax. She claimed sales tax can not be refunded as the transaction had been processed. This is illegal! Who says sales tax is not refundable?

Amazing food with really unique egg dishes. Ordered the Egg Katori, Lava Pulav, Holic Chicken Kabob, Chicken Kadai, Masala Egg Fry and Chicken Masala Sandwich. All delicious and flavorful dishes. The Chicken Masala Sandwich and the Masala Half Fry were absolutely outstanding and my favorite dishes. Menu is very large and diverse with numerous options for vegetarians or non veg eaters. Restaurant is very modern and clean. Staff was super friendly and food came out efficiently. Cannot wait to return next week!!
I ordered boneless Chicken biryani and it is just plain white rice with very very very salty chicken pieces and I would not recommend any food from here, its not worth the money. I suggest you going to other Indian restaurants.

Without a doubt, I've always adored the WTB specials at this restaurant. But let me tell you, their Chicken 65 over Sambar rice is an absolute must-try! Moreover, this establishment stands out among the few Indian restaurants that boast a fantastic ambiance for dine-in.
Good food, Great Service, and the best ambiance.
We ordered Chatpata Chicken, Street Style Chicken Noodles, and Mirapakay Chicken Biryani. The wait time was around 20 minutes. The complimentary tomato soup was delicious. Chatpata Chicken was okayish and mostly tasted like butter chicken. Street Style Chicken Noodles were manageable. Mirapakay Chicken Biryani was the best out of the ones we had ordered. We asked them to make it spicy, however, the food wasn't much spicy and was friendly to the human taste buds. The staff was friendly. They have games such as carrom board, Jenga, and UNO to play and pass the time between the food order and its arrival period. Suggest you give it a try.

Came in to satisfy my dosa craving and ordered the onion rava masala dosa. Along with some Chole Bhaturay.

The food was good for the most part. The service was okay, the kitchen was behind. We got our stuff in piece meal. Finished the one dish and had to follow up on the rest.

The taste, quality of the food here is amazing! One of the best Indian restaurants in Texas area. Good food. They also have Happy Hour, where they have Unlimited Pani Poori from 4-8 PM! Much recommended!
Great for snacks.
I have ordered samosas, Mirchi Bajji, and a pastry from here. No complaints. The taste, texture, and flavor resemble India. To the point! Would love to visit and try other items sooner.

We had a great lunch! Food was delicious! Thank you!
Amazing buffet place in Irving. This one beats Mythris by far to be honest.
First, hospitality is very good. I assume it is the owner in the counter, who had a good smile while talking to her guests. She good at what she was doing my there
Secondly, the staff, the prompt service the provided is second to none. Plates were removed on time and they received guests and escorted them to the tables that were clean and well organized
Third, the dress code, gloves, head caps everything was just as needed in a restaurant
Finally, the food, I tasted 95% of the vegetarian items and they were all good, no complaints in food quality, taste and price.
This one rightly deserves multiple visits on weekends!

The worst place to order take out food. I have ordered couple Of items which were not available. I have confirmed with them if they were available couple of times and they were very sure about the item.
I have travelled all the way from Plano as they had that particular item.
Once reached they just simple told me we don’t have any of the items I have ordered.
They didn’t bother to even callback and tell me to not travel as the items were not available.

The restaurant is located inside a motel called Days Inn. This is my first time visit to this place. The opened up night hours until 2 am.
The food quality is not so great. We got masala dosa and idli and the coconut chutney dint taste great along with Sambhar. The ginger chutney was good.
If you’re really hungry after 10 pm and looking to eat something Indian , this might be an option, but I won’t suggest going otherwise.
This place has the best variety for indian egg dishes.
I had a lava pulav and was by far the best i had in the Dallas area.
Also, the owner of the restaurant was very humble and was personally serving customers.
I would recommend this place 👌

Love from Boston , MA
It's a new place. Head Chef is awesome, has a personal contact with all his customers. He is a great chef. Makes sure the food is done to the requirement and yet taste awesome. The ambience is awesome. Give them a chance , they will not disappoint you. I would recommend this place all. I wish them the very best. Had one of the best bhel puris and Ragada patties.
The place is cozy, with around 10 tables. They have a complete Indian Menu, including snack items. I ordered a plate of Vijayawada Chicken Biryani, along with Stuffed Mirchi Bajji, and Aloo Bajji. Stuffed Mirchi Bajji is good, but cold (missed the lemon gist), and Aloo Bajji is okay. However, disappointed with the Biryani though. The chicken pieces are colored and rubbery in texture. Missed the biryani flavor in the rice.

What the Biryani man‼️.Ordered Chicken 🐔 Dum Biryani from uber eats. It was one of the best biryani’s I ever had. So fresh &tasty😋. I ordered spicy and it was perfect spice level for me. Just loved it. It comes with salan for extra spice and raita to cool down. Only downside is quantity of chicken pieces versus rice. There were only three tiny pieces of chicken in whole biryani. Will definitely going to order again whenever in Dallas area.

So my husband and I got in from a 12 hour flight, and saw this place in the Days Inn that we were staying at for the night. We got to the hotel pretty late but needed food and this place was open and very convenient to eat at as they are open till 1 am. They had both an Indian cuisine menu and a Pizza/Italian menu to chose from and we chose to eat from the Indian menu, and we were not disappointed. They make all their food to order, and it is absolutely the best Indian food I have ever had. We ordered something larger, as we hadn’t had much to eat and the portions did not disappoint. The waitress was very polite and accommodating. This place will be our go to whenever we are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

WORSE EXPERIENCE!! Had a worst experience ever specially from last two orders! We ordered three biryani's offer (2 Paneer+1 DB Special Chicken Biryani) yesterday from Desi Bites, Irving location but instead of giving Chicken biryani they have given Egg biryani. With last week order as well they did the same that instead of giving Paneer biryani and Chicken biryani, they have given all three egg biryani. I called their reception to put the complain last week and today when i went there in person with their biryani box which have DB Spcl Chicken Boneless mentioned on lid of box but inside it have egg biryani, then who so ever manager came and told that their Chef have given the correct order and exclaiming that we have changed the lids and making excuse that we have eaten them so they can't do anything. This is such a worst experience ever. She is such a worst manager I have dealth with, instead of accepting their mistakes for the wrong order, she was accusing back on us. If there is no star option here, I would have given their Chef and Manager all negatives too. Atleast she can learn some manners to talk to customers.
Went in for the lunch buffet which was approximately $20.00. Definitely not the best Indian food I've ever had but it was good. I would go back and recommend it.

The food tastes amazing and service is also very friendly and fast. THe kids loved the chocolate dosas and the adults loved the beer buckets!!! Have plenty of options for both vegetarians and Non vegetarians. The dishes which stood out for us were the Paneer Butter Masala and the Malai Kofta. The butter, bullet and garlic naans were also very soft and tasty. What we also liked was that it is open till very late. Give it a try if you are in the mood for some north indian food and you will not be disappointed.

Desi Bites is an exceptional restaurant for biryani enthusiasts. Their signature Desi Bites Special Biryani is an absolute treat to the taste buds. We also thoroughly enjoyed their classic Chicken Dum Biryani. The starters were equally delightful, leaving us thoroughly satisfied. I have frequented this restaurant multiple times and have never been disappointed with the food quality or taste.

We had an amazing experience at Foodistan last Saturday! The restaurant had live music playing which created a great ambiance. The food was delicious with enough options to choose from. We ordered the spicy chicken which was definitely the highlight of our meal - it was cooked to perfection and the flavors were amazing. We also tried the dosa which was served very quickly and tasted delicious. The restaurant had good vegetarian options as well, and we ordered the mushroom curry which was also very tasty. Overall, I would highly recommend Foodistan to anyone looking for great Indian food with a lovely ambiance and great service.

Food took quite some time to make, but was pretty good. Ordered fried rice, and was given ketchup in our bag, which seemed odd, I could see soy sauce. Worth a try if you’re in the area. Location is inside the hotel, it’s not a food truck outside.

Really good food. Had the vindaloo, garlic naan bread, and Manchu meatballs. Authentic vindaloo nice and spicy not too hot. Worth the visit. The robot waiter was interesting.
One of my go to places for Paneer Biryani. It’s 13.52$ after taxes with great quantity. If you are interested in spicy food like me, ask them to make it spicy with chillies added. I would definitely recommend to try this place.

This five star review is specifically about their awesome irani tea. It is unique and flavourful. I mostly go their just to grab a cup of tea.

Other things I have tried there are vegtable samosa and onion pakora. They are OK but not exceptional. They should also offer potato pakoras or other vegetables pakoras. Most of the time those items are pre cooked and ready to be served, so on the plus side you immediately get them but often they are not warm.

The restaurant is busy in the evenings. Which shows people like other stuff as well but I haven't tried much of their menu items.

Planning to try bonda next time with my cup of tea :)
The place is not so good for those who care hygiene and noise. Neither it is for physical ambience. There is loud music and crowd noise.

Pani puri is the best in this area. The place gives typical Indian vibe. There is commendable quick service. The tables and floor are always unclean and a turn off sometimes. They need to optimize the songs being played. They are too loud for a eatery. I frequently hear fellow customers hating the songs and the loud sound

The restaurant doesn’t have a dress code that will market their brand and I think that is unnecessary in certain desi places but I think they can wear head caps and gloves while handling food.

I’ve tried Ghee Karam Idly, pulavs, dosa, bonda, Mirchi bajji, vada, Manchuria etc. Ghee karam is heavy and tasty. Rest of the foods are not the greatest around but they are good enough anytime in terms of taste and quantity.

The cost to quantity ratio is so well maintained. Apt place for students who care for their budgets. It’s a good hangout place. Visit this place on a heavy work day and try the irani chai. It is very refreshing though they struggle to maintain the hotness of the chai. You can ask them to reheat it though.

Dallaspuram’s middle class hangout place that gives Indian nostalgia is here. Multivisits are suggested if you can ignore the hygiene. For the taste and quick service, I have ignored the cleanliness of the place and rated it 4. Otherwise this place is a 3.
We needed a lot of food late on a Sunday afternoon. They were open and had attractive pricing options for very hungry people.

We were two and ordered the family platter for the price of three entrees. It came with an appetizer and desert and at least 3x the food of the standard entre.

The food was really good.

"Medium Spicy" is medium+ of other places. Maybe 3/5. Perfect.

The room isn't very nice. The music is amazing. Paper plates and counter service.

Really happy about our choice.
Best biryani i had in Irving nearby. I personally suggest Hyderabad chicken boneless dum biryani. Its very insane and more delicious. Its worth of visiting here.
Its has a great ambiance and there are lots of item to have.
A perfect place to have indian food in Irving.

We went to Urban Tadka because one of our friends recommended it to us. The ambience was horrible and the service was SO slow. Every order took 40 minutes to come. The food was delicious but the serving size was really small. We had to order repeats of everything which again meant a wait time of 30 minutes!!! The food was REALLY tasty and even butter naan was really soft but everything gets marred by the fact that the ambiance and service was poor. So two stars deduced for these. If you plan to go, order good quantities initially so you don’t have to worry about waiting in between your meal.
I have tried almost all sorts of biryani around irving and dallas area, but today I thought of giving a try at this place and must say the taste, quality is amazing. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Irving to try Hyd Chicken Dum Biryani the taste is authentic the spice level is maintained well.
If i have any negative rating available i would probable give that. Bought chapatis today. They are rotten and they charge $1 for each chapati. Even curries are also of the same quality. I would never recommend this kitchen to anyone.

If you want to stay healthy better stay out of this.

My in-laws know that I love East Indian food so they told me there's a great place in a popular East Indian area. The place was Desi Bites.

Walking in, the entire restaurant was full and I felt like I walked into Indian town. That gave me confidence that there's some authentic, delicious food to be had here.

We received our order of Lamb Rogan Josh (classic lamb curry), Chicken Tikka Masala, Dum Ka Goat, and Mutton Chettinad along with a foil tray of Saffron Rice, Plain and Garlic Naan.

First off, the Saffron Rice was cooked properly. I expected no less from any self-respecting East Indian restaurant. They were generous with the rice and we had plenty left over.

The plain Naan and Garlic Naan was cooked perfectly and met my expectations. Personally, I prefer the plain as it is a classic for me.

I specifically asked for the Lamb Rogan Josh so this was the first dish that I tried. It was fragrant and contained bone-in pieces of lamb. Some places that I have tried in the past skip the bone parts. I enjoyed the curry flavor and ate most of it myself.

The Dum Ka Goat was even more fragrant and had a flowery hint. I have never had this dish before, but found the curry different, yet enjoyable.

The Mutton Chettinad was thicker and less gravy-like. The curry leaves helped thicken up the gravy and gave additional flavor to the curry. It was decent, but not my preference.

Finally, the Chicken Tikka Masala was the consensus least favorite as it was on the sweet side. I prefer savory food so the Chicken Tikka Masala would never win me over. My in-laws didn't like the sweetness as well. We did try mixing the other curries with the Chicken Tikka Masala to reduce the sweetness. It was passable, but we won't order it again.

Overall, Desi Bites delivered some delicious dishes and we can see why it was packed on a weeknight.

Ambience is great. Staffs are friendly. I appreciate the quick serving. Food is tasty and hygienic. Madras Coffee is my favorite. I highly recommended for authentic south indian foods. I promise you will get the feel of India.
Exceptional food. Nicely spicy. Lots of filling in the dosas, unlike so many places. Get the $4 upgrade - lots of extra sides and a small dessert - well worth it. Server cracked me up when he brought over an appetizer while talking on the phone - can’t ever remember that happening. Google shows them closing at 10 pm but they actively run you off at 9:30.
People were friendly and place was well maintained. But the number of food options in the buffet are very limited. Bonda was extraordinary, few curry options were tasty, but the desserts and starters are soaked in oil and strictly okay tasting. Buffet seemed mostly North Indian style, not so spicy.

We ordered food for our son's wedding reception. The owner Happy Singh provided us with amazing services and food was great. He was very professional, timely and courteous. Our guests were so happy with the delicious food and savory Patiala Lassi (a blockbuster). Recommend this for any small or large occasion.
For quick bites
I liked their masala dosa
Chole puri was alright
•Coffee was only $2 and tea was $1
•Wait time was 15 min or so
•Self service
•Cheap and affordable and good portion of food.
I will go back for the dosa.

Experience is average. We found Curry's and Entrees slight oily. Kids enjoyed the cool Robot delivering the food. When we ordered Poori's they came out crispy like Papad and had to request them to remake them. Quality check is needed before delivering.

This place is a hole in the wall tucked away in a grocery store, they serve wide variety of North Indian cuisine along with desserts.

We chose an option one with methi parota and pakoda kadhi, we also had samosa chat which was beautifully balanced between sweet and savory. This place also serves some fried papads and gujarathi snacks.

Perfect for vegetarians who want to try something different
Only good thing was the server.

Food was horrible the diced chicken for chicken 65 was raw not even cooked , I had to throw out from my mouth.
Goat curry usual story under cooked and oily.
Paneer curry was sweet and big cubed.

Avoid it at all cost.

This is a tiny indian self- service cafe style eatery inside a grocery store. This is a strictly vegetarian joint, so know that before you hit the place. We stopped by for the afternoon snack, mostly to quench our craving for indian street foods. Unfortunately the panipuri, sevpuri, papdi chat nothing was available 😭😡. We ended up having Dahivada, Dabeli,samosa/ kachauri chaat, along with lassi and tea. Dabeli was terrific, samosa chat was decent. We didn’t like the Dahivada much. The sprinkled while cumin ( roasted) on top. We like it with the crashed Masala on top and with abundant date tamarind chutney. Overall it was a little bland for us. But it’s okay. This can be different from place to place in india. The lassi was nice and the tea was too cinnamon smelled for me. Again, it’s understandable. There are a bunch of Indians prefer their tea loaded with cinnamon. I love it more with cardamom. Overall, the place is pretty decent, with reasonable price. The service is a bit slow, however it was packed. They have some meal/ thali options too, which we didn’t explore.

This South Indian restaurant is definitely worth a visit! They offer a wide variety of vegetarian curries, sweets, and snacks that are all very tasty. We have been coming here for a while now and have never been disappointed with the quality of the food.

Their pickles are particularly outstanding and make us feel like we are back home. Although we have tried their pulav a few times, we found the taste to be average.

Recent times the prices are increased too high with limited quantity.

Overall, this is a great place to grab some delicious South Indian food, and we highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an authentic culinary experience. The service is also very good, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Updated Review: Been a while since my last update. The quality of the food is great which is great considering most Indian restaurants start losing their quality over time. Still great tasting curries and the naan is absolutely great. Easily the best around here. Very tough to spot a good quality Punjabi restaurant and this one is a rare gem. Go for the Lasso Punjabi. That thing is awesome! Here's hoping Happy Singh and his team still keeps serving great food for a long time and keep his customers happy, just like his name 😁
Upping my review by one star to ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Original Review: Third time here, and been a fan of the authentic Punjabi style cuisine here.
This time, we ordered the Paneer Achari, along with Butter Naan. The naans were great as usual, but I was a bit disappointed with the Paneer Achari. I felt it was a bit bland, and looked like Paneer in a tomato based sauce, no other vegetables. This might just be the way the dish is prepared but I am definitely not a fan of this dish.
I will still continue to go to Urban Tadka, just for their excellent dishes and great service.

Love the food here!
This is a restaurant inside Indian grocery store, and the food here is very authentic and convenient portions.
Seating arrangement seems limited not like big restaurant, but all things are side once you taste good. That might be reason most people do orders for take out.
Service is good and they maintain good hygiene level.
They have tawa roti, paratha, and few unique Gujarati dishes which you can find only at homes.
Would recommend you if you enjoy North Indian food. Must try!
4 stars for a large variety of vegetarian options to choose from!!! If you are like my wife, and crib about lack vegetarian options in Indian buffet in Dallas, then this place is a dream for you. Not only there are more options, but they all taste good and authentic.

Though, a footnote, they can definitely improve on their non-vegetarian options and taste. Was a bit disappointed by that.

The buffet also comes with fountain drinks, coffee, chai, and Ice-cream cones!!

Great food and plentiful options to try from the lunch buffet. And all of that for $14. It is a steal!!
