Happy to have all vegan menu. Giving 3 stars for food because 1) temperature of the soup of the noodles was only lukewarm. Why wasn’t it hot?! I see another customer also complained about this in their review. 2) Coffee only lukewarm and small, not worth $6. Overall food felt just “ok”. Strengths: 1) Thai cocktail very good. 2) fresh rolls with avocado and tofu very good.

To be fair, I did go around closing time so maybe that’s why the food was preety cold but overall the experience was pretty mehhh. If you wanna grab something to eat and not really trying to look for quality but quantity then this is your place to go to. But if you’re looking for fresh food this is defintley not the place I would recommend. The store beside it, Asian Gourmet, is a lot better overall to be completely honest. Overall though the service was good. food (5/10) service (8/10) Atmosphere(5.5)

Always prejudiced against Vegan food and it was confounded today at Saigon Lotus. Absolutely brilliant food. We had the 20 and the 28 and didn’t leave a speck of food particle behind. There were only 2 waitresses when we went in to a packed restaurant but not a single moment did we feel ignored. Fantastic service.

5 star food. We enjoyed everything we ordered! The reason for 4 stars is that my husband witnessed a male employee use the bathroom without washing his hands after. When he left, he headed back towards the kitchen. We don't know if he was handling food directly or not, but he worked there. Either way, ALL employees (and everyone else) should be washing their hands after using the restroom. It's unhygienic and gross not to.

Excellent food and great service. I had pad Thai and it tastes great. Also highly recommended their fresh roll, one of the best one I had in Thai restaurants:)
Amazing good, great service and stylish interior. I’ve tried a few dishes over time and they are all tasty, fresh and hot from the kitchen and good sized portions. Be sure to order the mango sticky rice for dessert - best in the city!

Delicious food, excellent service, will recommend in the area! Baby friendly too!
Had a lovely experience at Simply Thai Cuisine. Love the ambiance and decor thanks to the lamp system they have going. Sophia was an exceptional server, funny, caring and welcoming. Her colleague Saki was also extremely helpful with explaining the menu. Amazing price and service. Highly recommend and will come back again!

This place has such a cozy vibe. The lighting creates the perfect ambiance for a night out with friends or a date. Our servers Sophia and Saki were absolutely lovely. I’ll definitely be back! I ate all my food before I could take a pic! I got the peanut beef curry as my main and it was delicious though. They also make everything from scratch so you don’t have to worry about cross contamination if you have food allergies.
Tried two signature dishes- (Pork rice and lemongrass chicken with rice)so far and my work lunch experience was brought to the next level. Very fresh and tasty, good portion at reasonable prices.
I ordered two portions of pad Thai, one spicy and one mild. Both are tasteless, inedible. No egg, no green onion, no peanuts, no salted radish. No flavour. There is more flavour from a packet of instant noodles.

Ordered Uber delivery today.. and it was OK. The Panang curry was super sweet.. sweeter than usual compared to most I’ve tried, and it had lots of potatoes which to me is not traditional. I chose calamari for my protein with my curry and the calamari didn’t taste that fresh, extremely dried out. Spring rolls were good, and the hot and sour soup was good, lots of veggies.

Good for vegan food! The broth is super flavourful, and the spring rolls are great too. Portions are big and food comes out fast.

This place also charges for using credit but accepts debit payments!

Everything was good I had the best waitresses Ning and her colleague. The food was good, I had Tom yum soup and green curry.
Tom Yum soup is sweet sour and spicy. So good! They also have Tom Yum fried rice 👌
Very good! Solid place for Thai food, quiet atmosphere, friendly service and the food is one of the better Thai foods I’ve had in the city. If you’re looking for a good Thai place in the area that isn’t too pricy, this should be on your list!

I came here a few times and found some good dishes :)

I’d highly recommend the chef’s special pan fried pho and exotic fried rice. I’ve had two of the noodle soups which were pretty good as well, but not out of this world. I’d also highly recommend the taro milk tea and taro latte. I’ve tried all the rice paper rolls and I think spicy jicama peanut is the best :)

Wait staff is friendly, although they got my order wrong a few times (e.g. forgetting which dish I ordered, which size and omitting a dish altogether).

Great atmosphere and vibes, but it can get busy and noisy sometimes.

All in all, a solid place :)
it seemed to me that they were in a hurry and the food was a little unprepared

Worst Chinese take out ever! Meat was okay, but noodles were hard and had no taste. Also I ordered tofu and green beans..again..no taste at all. So hard for Chinese food to be this bad. Ate it because I didn’t have time to go to another place..but if I had time, I wouldn’t have eaten it…just straight to trash. Also the servers were very pushy!

FULL OF FLAVOR! Very authentic aromatic flavored dishes!

First time trying this place. The entire place is VEGAN!! A nice variety including banh mi, soups, sides, desserts, coffees etc.

My order - my and my friend shared all the items. We got lemongrass tofu banh mi + curry vermicelli + classic vegetarian pho. I got the small portion and it was very filling.

Ambience - a cute cozy, pretty on the inside type of place. Friendly staff and we got our food within 10 mins of order. Not too crowded during late lunch (2pm)

Ordered delivery. One dish was described as white sliced fresh chicken, but was actually preformed chicken. Ugh. Delivery charge was stated as .99, but was almost $9. New to the area, and won't be using them again.

Perfect vegan spot in Toronto. The atmosphere was amazing. The gentle, rolling music & waterfalls had me sooooo sleepy while I was eating. But it was a comfortable relaxed sleepy. And the food was AMAZING! Great prices for the portions. Love!!!!!

A fantastic neighbourhood restaurant. Everything's delicious, portions are good, and prices are fair. Dine-in is clean and friendly, with big TVs for sports and occasional open mic nights. Good selection of beer on tap! Delivery is usually very quick. Thai Mango is a go-to for our household.

1st visit, Nov 8, 2023: Had the 2 item meal with 1 meat and 1 veggie. I had the cantonese noodles with mushroom beef and grilled zuchini. Noodles tasted great, grilled zuchini was nice and fresh. Mushroom beef tasted amazing, very savoury and a bit smoky flavour, perfectly flavoured and the mushroom complemented the beef nicely. All 3 items complemented each other nicely. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Only thing was the dish was a bit too oily, but asides from that, tasted delicious.

Will be visiting again.

Future: Try their pad thai, Kung Pao fish, chili chicken, and more.

These guys have truly delicious food. I've ordered delivery + eaten in restaurant on several occasions, and their food & drink is always excellent.

If you enjoy curry pad Thai, I'd recommend ordering from here. They have loads of food options on their menu, but I definitely prefer the curry
pad Thai. They don't skimp on portions, and their owner is such a kind guy. Definitely worth it! 🙌

This is the absolute best place to get food for any students that have classes in the cineplex. Excellent prices for a lot of good food. Plus, the staff and so friendly and welcoming.
I thought the House pad Thai would be special, so I had it for lunch. It's ridiculous—all you get are noodles and no meat or vegetables. Sweet noodles cost $15.
I never leave negative reviews but this is literally the worst Thai food I have ever had in my life. Absolutely zero flavour. A major waste of money. Complete garbage. Do not go here if you enjoy food.
The food here has been going downhill. Cold. No taste. Portions are getting smaller and smaller. Staff are friendly.
The Ultimate Betrayal

I'm just an average Joe caught up in the Toronto rat race who works hard, pays his taxes, and does his best to not let the weight of the world's problems crush his soul.

I don't drink, I don't smoke, and I don't do drugs: My vice is Thai Express's Basil Fried Rice - 3X spicy (BFR3X). As such, I can frequently be found patronizing the Yonge & Davisville location where they have a Top Chef that spices things to perfection. If my review ended here, this would be a 5 star review.

Today I was in a particularly chipper mood and decided to pay this location a visit to end off my week right: BFR3X made to order by my favorite Top Chef. Unfortunately, things soon took an unexpected and dark turn. I was informed that the location's manager was on site that day and it was against corporate policy to do anything higher than 1X spice. Panic set in, but despite my desperate pleas, this manager would not waiver from her authoritarian ways. I soon found myself back on the street with BFR1X, and an overwhelming sense of emptiness that no amount of BFR1X could ever fill.

It's outrageous, egregious, preposterous! My faith in humanity has been shaken to its very core and I now question whether I shall ever be able to taste from the Garden of Edan, that which I had briefly experienced at the Yonge & Davisville location thanks to my dear Top Chef.

I don't often write reviews but their curry pad thai was very very good that I just wanted more people to know this place.

The service I received was just about right. By the looks of the menu, the restaurant also offers cocktails and Italian food. An interesting combo for sure.

I had curry pad thai and I might just had the best curry pad thai among everywhere I have tried in Toronto. What an exquisite find!

Went after a very long time. The food was fresh and tasty, but the quantity has been reduced. Had the green curry chicken with steam rice, it had the same consistency as before 😋 and spicy 👌

I came here with my daughter and we loved it!! The vibe, service, food were all amazing! Our server was efficient, accommodating, and set a good vibe ❤️ she brought mini glasses, utensils and bowls for my baby. The food came out fast too! I loved the buttery flavoured pumpkin soup. Would def come back when I'm in the area :)
I would have given the food 4 stars, but they are serving awfully stale crushed peanuts on the counter that spoiled my meal.

EDIT 1: I decided to give this place another try, since I was craving pad-thai. All I can say is that for anyone who’s ever been to Thailand and eaten real thai to food, you should not have high expectations or any expectations at all. This food has no soul.

I asked the woman about food that you apparently had to line up at the other section for and she got frustrated said I had to go there and walked off before I was able to say anything else.Another woman came and I asked for food from this side as I didn’t really care what I ordered.

I got the Pad Thai as it’s a signature Thai dish…
Jesus Mary Joseph, this was the most basic worst.. far from Pad Thai I’ve ever had across 20 countries.

Had to have been the cheapest rubbery noddles you could find in the country drowned in vegetable oil and fish sauce and then the chicken placed on top….AND THAT IT… with a wedge of lime

We ate here for a late night snack. Ordered the chicken yellow curry and mango sticky rice. Their curry was good, although I wish the dish had more chicken portions. Their mango sticky rice isn't the usual sticky rice you see where the rice is white and the mango is served separately. It's all mixed together and had cashew nut toppings.
Wow

I absolutely loved the ambiance of this establishment. It's very elegant and classy inside. There are multiple different types of seating available inside, as well as an umbrella and and outdoor patio area for two outside the restaurant.

The server I had was an absolute sweetheart. Thank you so much for your service today!🙏

🌟Friendly Thai Appetizer Plate
🌟Beef Pad See-Ew
🌟Pineapple Fried Rice

The Appetizer plate was a generous portion and included both hot and cold spring rolls, calamari, shrimp satay and mango salad. Everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. The shrimps were a nice size too.

I'm a HUGE noodle lover; the thicker the better. The pad See-Ew was flavorful and full of perfectly cooked noodles to satisfy my craving.

I was expecting the pineapple friend rice to come in a pineapple.🍍 While it did not, it was still plated beautifully. The pineapple hunks in this dish were enormous. They use real pineapple here, none of that canned stuff. The shrimps were seasoned well and plentiful.

I was impressed with every dish I tried. If you're looking for a well priced, delicious Thai meal DO check out The Friendly Thai!

Food was tasty big portions not bad I opted for their vegetarian option 2-3 veggies with rice or noodles. Taste was great only thing is their eggplant veggie option was too salty the sauce they cover it with. I feel they should just grill the eggplant and lessen the salt. To note their fried rice has eggs so instead. Ask to be served plain rice if you have problem with egg. Good staff overall 4 stars 👍🏾

I asked for beef and non spicy. She said Yes. It wasn’t beef stir fry, beef stew or whatever beef you would expect in any other food stands. What I was served were 9 or 10 small balls <1” of flour outside, precooked and fried before serve. Inside there was tiny minced mix tasted like some kind of protein or so I would want to believe it is meat.
It is cheating. Now it’s clear why they don’t present the dish components to be assembled like any other food stands do.
Spicy as well.
I brought the dish back & questioned if it was her mistake. No she said, that is how they got from head office, very quick in responding.

Common on.

Their price is much more expensive vs others as well. I paid $17 after tax vs less than $14 at Greek stand or even less at Thai Ruby or any others with same quantity or protein and veggies in their double choices.
Shameful.

Love it here. Me and my friend have been coming for years and have never had a bad meal. The food is delicious and the portions are plenty. We also find Eric and the other staff to be very personable.
Have ordered 3 times from this location. First time was good. Second time I ordered a vegan pad Thai but received something totally different. Third time my order was correct but they didn’t give me any plum sauce for the imperial roll. Definitely a hit or miss depending on when it’s busy or not. Staff doesn’t seem to work that fast when it’s busy so you do have to wait a bit.
I don’t know what happened to this location. I used to come here all the time despite the crusty service, I would always order the same thing tofu khao soi every single time that’s how good it was .. and now never again. The food is disgusting it’s not even eatable, zero flavour everything was stale and it’s like they microwave there food. So disappointed absolutely will not be back.

Delicious thai food. Tried the green curry, fried rice and some appetizers. This place probably has one of the best cooks out of several locations I've been to. The spice is perfect for my taste and of course Green curry was out of world. All flavours of food are top notch.

The garnishing of each dish was amazing and neatly presented. I would highly recommend this place if you really want yummy thai food and fast service.

I haven’t been back to this Friendly Thai since before COVID. Used to love it. The staff and food was always great! Now that I have eaten there a few times recently, I got to say, they have gotten better!

Their dishes that are spicy tickle the tongue just enough to dampen your periorbitals without losing flavour. The portions are almost perfect as in there is too much food! It fills me up that I sometimes don’t have room for dessert!

They have a wonderful drink selection. Menu covers all the meals you’d want from a Thai Restaurant and the Staff are great. Dine in experience is best. Vegetarian options are yummy. They will do their best to accommodate dietary restrictions but if you’re allergic to Peanuts, well you can’t eat at a Thai Restaurant!

My biggest issue with this place is that they get a lot of Uber Eats orders because their food is good. I enjoy coming here regardless.
It says close 9pm. As you can see this was taken 835pm. No where to sit. Just got off work and want to eat somewhere. If the hours is not 9pm then don’t advertise as such.

Really frustrating.

And just got the fried rice it’s wet and soggy.

It is not fried rice.
Not real pho. Please don't mislead people. Soup doesn't taste beefy at all and it claims to be bone broth.

Don’t know why there are so many negative reviews. I only eat gourmet food on Uber eats. I do Uber eats like 2-3 times a day cause I’m so busy. This place has such authentic Asian cuisine and it’s so good. I order it twice a day sometimes. So so tasty. One time, my Uber delivery driver stole my food.. it’s that good. I had ordered again and the second driver stole my food again. The cheesecake is ridiculously good. The beef is amazing. I can’t get enough lol. Pretty affordable too!

For the price of $11 for this food was such a disappointment! A lot of rice and 5pcs of coconut shrimp. Its a joke! You barely see the shrimp it's all flour. Never ordering from here again. Disappointing.
The pad sew is tasteless 😞 wish I got rice instead. The bang bang chicken is much better. Value was ok, $11.06 for one meat and noodle/rice option.

Don't write negative comments on staff. They can speak little English but sufficient for you to know the cuisines. Isn't it good that they cook so well and serve so fast? Food is value for money.
Near closing time (7pm onwards), they offer combo for $8.99 ($10.16 with tax).
They display the combinations e.g. chicken, fish, broccoli and rice.
If you are lucky, they let you choose your combination, 2 meat, 1 veggie with either rice or noodles.
Broccoli, Rice, noodles, I would give 2*, but it is just part of the combo.
So bear with it.
Careful when choosing pork. Some of their spices may have strong, unpleasant aroma.
Where is it - basement 2, just below Dundas Subway Station.
Plenty of seats, yet be prepared to wait for the seats because this place is always crowded. Popular amongst youngsters and students.
Authentic Vietnamese take-out only restaurant in midtown. I've had the pho, chicken vermicelli and vermicelli noodles here and both were great. I would reheat the pho broth as the take-out process might cool the broth and not cook the rare beef slices well when poured together. Overall, portions are great and I would recommend this place.

Okay fast food thai place. Selection is so-so, a little slim on options but fine considering it's clearly a working day lunch place.

Staff is okay. Pleasant enough but we will see if that stays up as people return to offices and they get busy.

I ordered Thai Mango as a late night pick up before they closed. Eric was really nice and when I arrived we chatted about their family run business for the last six years. The atmosphere was a mix of a bar and restaurant, small but cosy. A few locals seemed to sit at the bar stools and were having a good time watching TV.

The food was delicious!! Though we found the pad see ew a bit salty, it was tasty and better than most Thai restaurants! The green curry and mango chicken were excellent and I couldn't help but devour serving after serving! The vegetarian spring rolls were also to die for! Highly recommend this as a top notch Thai restaurant in the city!!

I tried the Malaysian Chicken Curry and Thai Mango Salad with Rice. Taste is delicious.
This was my first time ordering a tofu based dish (spicy tofu) and I was pretty impressed. I've heard that tofu is very dependent on seasoning for its flavor and they did a wonderful job getting it to taste right. I'm a picky eater and the first bite was quite pleasant. I don't think I'd ever order something like this again though. The texture of the tofu confused my mouth, kinda spongy, so I'm going to stick to gnawing on flesh like a caveman. Gave it 5 stars because, while it's not for me, I'm sure that someone with more adventurous taste buds would get a kick out of this.

To order from Uber eats it’s always 1+1. At a first glance it’s a great deal ! But you have to add protein for an extra charge . It’s 11$ for chicken addition and it charges 11+11 for the 2 offered dishes . What a scam !

Out of all the food court spots nearby, I always choose Thai express in Scotia plaza - the line gets long but they work through it so efficiently and it never takes more than a few minutes. The owner is also super kind and has offered exceptional customer service every single time.

The food is great and I’ve noticed higher quality eats here than other Thai express chains I’ve been to. They always cook it to perfection and I usually have enough for lunch and dinner! What a steal. I love that it’s cooked fresh in front of you and they offer the highest quality ingredients. So yummy and worth the price.

My go to is the pad see ew (sooo delish with the thicker noodles) and the curry chicken rice - it’s always come covered in the curry with the best consistency and leaves every bite very flavourful. The chicken is also never dry!

If you’re going to spend your lunch money, I highly recommend spending it here. Also very convenient to get to using the path from wherever you are because it’s in such a central financial district location.

So just some background, I recently started working in Toronto and decided to explore restaurants around the PATH, personally, I don’t think the low reviews does this place justice at least in terms of the food. I get that a lot of the reviews are from years ago and from my experience today, the restaurant was really good.

If I have to be completely honestly, this place compared to other food-court styled restaurants, is extremely good. The portion is good for the price, the food taste like authentic Viet food despite the restaurant being called “Thai Island”.

I got the Lemongrass Chicken rice and although it was my first time, I was definitely not disappointed. The chicken was juicy and the rice was cooked well. Take my review for a grain of salt as I’ve only been here once but for someone who’s grown around Viet food their entire life, that dish did not disappoint, especially when compared to other food court restaurants.

As for service, I can’t really speak on it as it was my first time but I had a pleasant interaction with the cashier. Hopefully this helps, if you’re having trouble finding it, it’s located around the corner in TD Centre food court. :)

I ordered yellow curry with chicken. Not sure where the curry is... :( Veggies tasted raw, chicken was cooked but not much flavor, and rice was kinda hard.
I love Thai Express, but this location is NOT it. I got the chicken pad thai and they completely skimped out on the chicken, like it was barely there. At most other locations I’ve been to they put a decent amount of chicken chunks, I could hardly find any in my dish. The flavor was also lacking. For $15 I expected more.

To be frank Iike this place the most among Asian eateries in the PATH. Their mung salad with bbq chicken reminds me of Viet’s Bun Thit Nuong while their Khao Soi is super creamy and tasty.

Good portion size as well. A decent place for lunch at workplace. Would recommend!
The first time it was fine but the second time it was terrible.
There was no vegetable, no peppers, no lime, nothing. the broth was not clear and beef smelled old. I ordered Large size and the picture (in bowl) is a half of it. I’m so disappointed this place was the only VNese restaurant in this are. An only good point is the noodles. This is the last visit here.

Ordered through Uber Eats! I rarely comment. My pad Thai was fantastic! It was perfect to be honest. The side of Spring rolls with fish sauce was very good as well. Fish sauce well balanced. This place gets it! I cannot wait to try other dishes they make. Waiting for my roommate to come home to try hers… seriously it is that good
The best thai express of town. I have been coming to this restaurant for so many time . The food are taste very delicious, friendly staff, fast service and clean seating area. I highly recommend to try pad Thai and pad sew and Thai soup of this restaurant.

Ordered Pad Thai. They did not follow instructions on the order.
Disgusting food! Big pile of greasy sour noodles with very little meat.
Never again! Zero rating!
We ordered the tom yum noodles soup with shrimp which was about $16+taxes for an extra large portion. Came with 8 pieces of shrimp. Taste was really good. Definitely worth the price. Will order from here again.

Super gross food. We ordered 2 PadThai and the shrimp chip snacks off the Uber app. Food arrived so soggy that the lemon slice in the container was mush. Pad Thai was very sour, hard to eat more then a new bites because of taste and texture. Shrimp chips were alright, has a nice texture and flavour. Would not recommend or order here ever again!

It was okay, they have good deal for one order for buy one get one free that’s why oder there from Uber eats
Tonnes of Beef!!!

I stopped at this Thai Express not too long ago, while waiting for a medical appointment nearby. It was just before lunchtime so it was not busy at all. I hadn't eaten at a Thai Express in years so I was very curious as to how the food would taste. I had never been disappointed with the food previously so I knew it couldn't be that bad. As a veteran of a million Pad Thais from around the world, I was looking for something different. I decided to try the Pad See Ew which comes with large rice noodles, egg and Chinese broccoli. I decided on beef as my protein. Let me tell you, the beef was tender and juicy and I got quite the serving of beef. This dish was very filling and overall pretty good. I do hope it has the same consistency at all of their locations as this meal was very good. If I'm back in the area anytime soon, I will stop in again.
Just order delivery through UberEats and the food is absolutely disgusting. Ordered chicken and beef satay as well as "fresh" rolls and we literally threw the food out. Some of the chicken had a funny taste to it, the meat was so extremely dry, you might think that is has been cooked a few days ago. Which is weird that some of the beef satay was raw (see pic)

the peanut sauce was extremely runny and flavourless. easily the worst food i've had in a long, long time.

Avoid at all costs.
Best to order ahead of time since I had to wait for 25 minutes for my order to be made.
It is a shared restaurant with a Mr Sub outlet with each of them being totally separate.
These days, due to COVID, you only enter from the entrance of the side street and exit from the Yonge St door. They have enough sanitazer containers for customers use.
If you want peanuts and/or hot sauce, you have to ask for it.
The Pad Thai and Pad See were OK but it is certainly a quick service restaurant quality and not of a good Thai restaurant.
The Sausage fried rice was bad and the inside of the sausage did not look like a meat sausage.
The chicken nuggets were too dry.
The spring rolls were very average.
If you like sweet dessert, the chocolate cake is sweet and taste OK.
There are (paid) street parking except for rush hours and there is a small Sober supermarket around the corner so if you are also doing some grocery shopping, you can probably use one of their free parking spots.
Awesome food, must try, nice flavour. We had pad thai and Vietnamese shredded fried rice. Both were amazing. Fresh ingredients and love from chef created this taste I feel . I don't give 5 stars unless it's super amazing . But this one is .

There was discounted meals for 8.99 when I came here around 7pm. Whatever is left over got discounted to 6.99 at 8pm. I got the noodles with chicken and broccoli which tasted great. My stomach didn’t feel the greatest after though. Would only recommend end of day if you can stomach it. Otherwise the other items during the day are much better.
I was very much pleased with this place. At first I wasn’t much interested due to the cookie cutter style. The prices in the menu were ok but the surprise came with the food. The portions were big and very tasty. I order something and after the waiter came to reconfirm explaining to me the differences between the two dishes. I was impressed with the service. I will be back here for sure.

If you toward the end of the day, they pre package food and sell it at a lower price. We ordered two boxes or mixed food and it was surprisingly delicious, especially the octopus!
Excellent, healthy food. Friendly, hard working staff. Usually busy, especially around meal times. Despite the crowds service is still top notch. Highly recommended.

What do you expect from a food court offering?

Myself, I like to satisfy my hunger, and that’s exactly what California Thai did for me while I was walking around the Yonge-Dundas area looking for a good bite.

I was there pretty late so I could sit beside the windows overlooking the Square; lucky me. I’m not sure, however, how lucky you’d be if it was during the day and much busier.

I've been here a number of times and usually go for their beef pho. It's pretty good for the price, portion, and wait time. Just recently, I tried their grilled pork mung vermicelli salad which I must say had really good noodles. The spring rolls were flavourful and I enjoyed it overall, but the meat was a little bit too salty for my liking.
Unpleasant experience at Star King! Servers were unwelcoming , they did not seem to like us coming their restaurant. They also did not serve food properly. I ordered 2 appetizers and 2 phos. Phos were served first without bean sprout and basil. We had to wait till she brought them very very slowly! The server forgot to bring sauce bowl, too. So I had to wait again!! The appetizer were served when I almost half way finished the pho. Funny thing was my husband and I were the only customer there, so they were not busy at all!!!
Food was terrible. I have eaten pho at Vietnam so I know the authentic flavour. The broth of the pho was so greasy and the tastes was not Vietnames pho!! It was just beef broth who could make at home! In addition to that, shrimps in the shrimp rolls were Not fresh at all, so I lost my appetite when I saw that shrimp! Owner should re-train their server and check the quality of their food. In addition, chef should do better inventory management to serve fresh food to customers. I will never return the restaurant.
The chicken was lean and tender. The fried rice had small bits of pineapple which was the perfect contrast with the spicy basil chicken. Pad sui and chilli chicken from Thai island in Brookfield Place.  Pad sui was too spicy and not enough soya sauce.  I have this on a regular basis and I could tell the person who usually makes it, didn’t make it.

I ordered rice noodles, tiger shrimp, and spicy beef. Spicy beef had numbing spice! Fortunately it was not too strong. The meat was tender and well seasoned. The service was efficient. One of the reviewer was right that everything tastes close to Chinese than Thai food. While it won’t beat McDonald’s on the price, I enjoyed the overall experience. I would not mind visiting again.
Pathetic food. Rice is so undercooked that I left the food as it is. U can taste raw rice while eating. I hope you stomach stays strong after having this stuff... Moreover too oily as well... I see a line up there rt now. God saves their tummy.
