located along the roadside, this chendol place (RM4) is a small, hole in the wall shop with a stand and simple seating.

I also prefer it to the Penang Road one because I have the tastebuds typical of a child under five. the beans in this one are sweeter and that’s my only judging criteria. also it’s cheaper.

thank you for coming to my ted talk

Rainy Sunday review!

It’s tram central here. There’s a lovely shelter located in the centre of this busy area which is surrounded with eateries and retail stores. Of course, since I came on a Bloody Sunday nothing was open, but it was still pretty fun to just watch the trams zip around. Hella efficient and clean public transport.

There are also a couple of statues around the area.

High Park Zoo

we went on a day where the llamas weren’t open to public sob

the zoo was pretty fun, it was free so we didn’t expect ANYTHING and all in all it was a nice experience. love the doodly information boards and the vast space allocated to each animal, makes my little heart very happy. the fact that each enclosure has toys placed in it and ample space for the animals to hide if they wish is also super endearing.

it was a little hard to see some of the animals, with the double fenced lining in some enclosures, and some of them weren’t out and about, but the baby cattle was adorable. made up for everything else.

do note it’s quite a small zoo, so do plan other things to do when you’re done, there is the rest of the park to see after all.

Hillside Gardens

this area of the park was a bit underwhelming, but that’s my fault since I went in the summer. there is the maple leaf shaped garden, but close up you can’t really tell what it is.

cherry blossoms were obviously Not in bloom but there were a handful of people just chilling out and vibing so that was nice to watch. the lake is also right nearby.

docking a star because of apple slapping their logo all over this historic building 🤌

chances are, if you’re in NYC as a tourist, you’re probably in this building at some point. It’s a short bus ride over from Penn Station and has a lovely street scene just outside.

like everyone else has pointed out, the architecture of this terminal is absolutely gorgeous. the towering ceiling is adorned by constellations akin to the ones in museums. there’s a fair few eateries around and the balcony is great for photos (minus apple, that has to be the bougiest Apple Store ever).

overall, definitely a place you want to visit that’s just quintessential New York.
