Was in the neighborhood for an appointment and saw this cute cafe. Lots of people walking in and getting coffee to go but seating area was empty so I decided to go in to wait until my appointment. Best decision I made today. It's a lovely spot to grab coffee and a pastry. Cafe is clean, quiet and feels spacious. This would be a great spot also to do work on your computer.
Coffee was good although I wished it was hotter (temperature wise). The chocolate croissant I got was delicious. It was flaky, buttery and chocolatey. Perfect with the coffee.
The cafe is also did friendly as evident by the doggy treats by the counter. If I'm ever inn the neighborhood again definitely will make a point to stop by.

4.5 stars. Tangram Mall’s food court is slowly opening more stalls and options for dining. While visiting today, we saw that CooCooCachoo had finally opened. So glad that they opened a location here in Tangram’s food court. Currently, most of the food selections in Tangram are fancy sit-down restaurants so it’s nice to have other options.
They are tucked in the back near the entrance of Hoi Polloi. I ordered the Make It CooCoo’s Way Combo A ($12.75), which consisted of a sandwich or wrap, fried and a drink. Since it was my first time trying them out, I ordered their signature Rock CooCoo chicken sandwich.
I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this sandwich. It’s honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve eaten in a long while. The chicken was juicy, tender, and perfectly fried. It wasn’t overly battered, and the coating retained its crispiness. The sandwich had a slice tomato, lettuce, and their signature sauce. I wished it had a bit more sauce (some kind of aioli) but other than that it was perfect and delicious. The fries were meh. I would recommend getting one of their dipping sauces to help elevate it.
After I inhaled the chicken sandwich, I was seriously considering getting another. It was that good. Luckily, I restrained myself and got dessert instead at one of the other food stalls BUT I am already planning my next trip here so I can try more of their menu out.

3.5 stars. Very happy that they finally opened and just in time for Thanksgiving. I had to do some last minute purchases and this store was a life saver. I got a couple of pies (apple and pumpkin) that were delicious.
The store is bright, clean and well stocked. I love the wide aisles and layout of the store. It's such a huge improvement from the old Associated supermarket that was here previously. Prices are on the higher end so I probably won't be buying all of my groceries here, just select items. Very glad to have another option for groceries to go to.

This new mochi donut and boba shop in the UWS recently had their soft opening last weekend. Mochi Dolci is in the old space formerly occupied by Kefi, a now defunct Greek restaurant. While there are other spots in this neighborhood to get boba/bubble tea, this might be the first for mochi donuts. The exterior and interior space are aesthetically pleasing and very IG worthy. The interior décor is overly whimsical with its peach/pink walls, flower selfie walls and neon lights, and definitely stands out in this neighborhood.
The owner is so incredibly nice and took time to chat with us on our first visit. And on our second visit we felt like we were friends visiting. I’m not sure when they will be fully opened for indoor dining; we went yesterday, and it looks like they still had some small construction work happening.
Their menu is small right now and consists of six varieties of boba drinks, rotating flavors of mochi donuts, Korean corn dogs, and strawberry Bingsu. I’m sure they will continue to add more when they finally have their grand opening. You can place your order at the counter, at the kiosk by the entrance or by downloading their app and placing it there.
During our visits we’ve tried their Taro the Tiger Boba Tea and Black Sugar Boba. Unlike other boba shops, we weren’t given the option of customizing the sugar and ice levels. Not sure if this is because they are still working out the kinks and if this option is available on their kiosk. The Black Sugar Boba was a wee bit too sweet for me and the Taro Boba was not sweet enough. I did enjoy the boba pieces itself and wished they had put more in the drinks. We have also tried their mochi donuts and have gotten the pandan, strawberry and chocolate flavors. The mochi donuts here are very fluffy and had a nice chew. I enjoyed the pandan flavor best as it had a hint of pandan and coconut.
If you are in the neighborhood with the family, definitely check this place out. I think kids and teens especially would appreciate this place.

Miniso is a popular Chinese retail chain known for selling a variety of merchandise at low-cost prices and they just opened their second location in New York this past weekend. Miniso is located on the ground floor inside the Tangram building in the heart of Flushing. Practically 80 percent of their products are under ten bucks! They have a variety of everything: toys, makeup, Asian snacks, small household goods, pillows, cell phone accessories, stationary, etc.
It was quite enjoyable perusing their aisles and finding random, fun stuff. The plushies and bento boxes were a must buy for me that day. The store isn’t very large, but the layout is easy to understand. On the first day, not all of the items were marked with prices, so it was a bit of a guessing game on how much they cost. Hopefully, they fix that soon. Still, I ended with about $45 worth of goodies on my first visit.
