I had my go-to Mexican place, but this joint just topped it....and that's hard to do with me.
I love my Burritos and have them quite frequently.
I'm a huge fan of Mexican food in general, and to have excellent food plus excellent service plus adorable contemporary chic Mexican atmosphere...now that's where this place comes in. It's all that.
The Baked Fish Burrito was wonderful. I had it to go.
When I got home, I realized how much care and attentional to detail they put in not only the packaging, but also the making of the burrito (see pic.) It was fresh, tasty and just done First Class.
You take pride in your business.
You give the reverence to Mexican food it deserves.
You value and appreciate your guests.
That's not only amazing, but rare these days.
I'll be back for dinner and will sit and dine in your beautiful taqueria.
Can't wait! ;)

Honestly, my hat's off to this place. Why? Here's why.....
A "Vaziri" dish is a skewer of beef and a skewer of chicken which comes with rice and grilled tomato.....ok here it goes....
In any Persian restaurant in the vicinity of Vancouver the lowest price for this dish is $28.00 going all the way to $34.00. The adorable fact about Farsi Food is they offer that dish for $23.99...and here's the real kick....The quality is just as good! So, let's do some basic math here.....at this place you pay less for the same level of quality. They're just not...all high up on my horse about it. If I wanted to pay nearly 35 bucks for a meal, I'd go to a steakhouse and order a filet mignon......get my drift?
Loved the Vaziri.
The chicken had a beautiful lemon-marinated aftertaste and tender on the inside. The Beef was also pre-marinated and grilled just right. The rice was actually impressive. Persian rice is cooked a certain way. The grains were fully extended and al-dente, which only means they were cooked right and steamed right....oh and it was seasoned. You'd be surprised how many Persian restaurants serve their rice unsalted, which is surprising considering that Persians salt everything generously. The tomato was fresh and had a super tasty bbq'd taste grilled to perfection finishing with a sweet bow.
I also loved how the side onion for our to-go order was cut fresh. I mean super fresh. Yes, little bites of raw onion with Persian dishes is very tasty....it just goes....you should try it.
Friendly Service.
Clean Space.
Fair Prices.
Why would I go anywhere else? I won’t.

I'm just gonna get right to it.
The French Toast: Wet Sponge with canned cinnamon apples (see pic.)....you get the drift.
Goat Cheese/Mushroom Benny: they forgot to toast the english muffin...and as you can guess...with the hollandaise and egg yolk it became wet and soggy quick.
The Coffee: I asked her to bring me something strong and she recommended the Americano. It was as strong as wet toilet paper would be holding a water melon.
The Atmosphere: was the best part of the whole disappointment. Cute and Cozy.
The Service: Not great. Not bad. The minimum.
Ok...let this review be done....kinda says it all.

Have you ever had a hunger attack while shopping for clothes?
Halfway through my stroll on Robson street, I became extremely hungry and the first sign I saw was "Yan Sushi". Even though I didn't know anything about this place, I decided to go....well...climb down rather.....It's in a hole in the ground.
The place was clean, the service was good and the sushi?
I don't know how else to put this, but it was the freshest I've had in a while. We ordered again a week later for takeout and it was again just as fresh. Also, their rolls are super creative culinarily impressive and colourful.
I love the fact that it was inconspicuous and unassuming.....very different and refreshing from the current world we live in. No glitz, no glam, no pretend, no...."oh let me distract you with our million dollar decor while we serve you subpar food and charge you up the wazoo." Nope.....just good food and grateful service.
This place came along at the perfect time, as our regular sushi place started serving moldy ginger, and I draw the line at moldy anything.
YAN...you got it goin' On!

4.5 - A cozy little French Cafe with a great selection of fresh and creatively made pastries and sandwiches. We come here quite a bit. Our usuals are the double chocolate pistachio croissant and the vegetarian spinach and feta croissant and we love them both.
Their Americanos could be slightly better, but that's because I tend to like my coffee quite strong, so usually I get my Americano with an extra shot of espresso, I find the single to be a little watery for me.
The atmosphere and environment is really lovely and tastefully decorated and all the windows gives you a cozy place to sit, observe and just Be. I find the staff varies, as sometimes when we walk in there's a warm and attentive friendly greeting and sometimes there isn't.
There's also a great space outside to sit if you enjoy a nice chilly morning with your coffee cup and pastry watching the locals walk by :)
