They charged my husband more than a one night stay for a booking he rang back to cancel immediately after booking it. Apparently they keep your credit card on file for months after your stay and can just charge to it when they feel like.
They made 3 different transactions on his card, when he rang to inform them they said he didn’t cancel with notice. He never actually made a booking, enquired about the price and said it was too expensive, they said they’d pencil it and he could ring to cancel if he found somewhere else, which he did.
It now has to be dealt with fraud Australia and the credit card company but people can’t afford to be out of this kind of money.
We just had a fantastic 5 days at The Point in Bargara. Aside from a problem with our booking (not managements fault) that was quickly resolved everything else was great. Our apartment was modern spacious and clean and the view superb. Thanks in particular to Peter and Debbie who smoothed our booking issue and were welcoming and friendly.

You either loose or you win. But the place is good, clean. Foodcourt outside, nice lighting display, photographic view outside the crown building, take a nice stroll near the river and enjoy the night view.

Great food, friendly staff, beautiful views 👌 It's a lovely place to go for a special occasion with a loved one or a group of friends. We went there for our wedding anniversary and they brought us a complimentary dessert. How thoughtful! 💕
Great rooms and amenities and right on the beach front and only 10 mins away from shops

I like this place a lot. That’s the only place in Melbourne that is open 24 hrs and you can have night life. All the bars are perfect. The restaurants are really good the food court is acceptable. You can find other entertainments of films, games, mini golf, ….

Fabulous to stay at The Point Resort. Sharon has a Great place to stay for doing our Support Worker Hub training and assessments in Bundaberg and Hervey Bay.

Full self contained room, good size kitchen , bathroom, spa and wash machine and dryer in the unit. Good underground parking .

Easy access to beach walk and close to shops.
We have a new place to stay The Point Resort in Bagara Queensland.
Enjoyed our short stay, bed & pillows were super comfy. Beautiful unit right on the beach, amazing views and surroundings. The best mini vacation ever! Perfect place for families and couples as well. Definitely coming back and will highly recommend!
Absolutely loved this park. Lovely new caravan sites with cement and artificial grass. Staff were super friendly and helpful.
Toilets and showers were a bit older but always clean and tidy.
Location is fabulous, close to beautiful beach, cafe, tavern, pub and shopping.
Our original booking was for 7 nights and we kept extending, ended up staying just over 2 weeks.
Would definitely recommend!

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are a good size, as is the bathroom. Clean and great staff. The pool is fantastic, even to just lay out and relax in if u don't want to swim. There is even a lifeguard on duty. The gym is only open 6-10 but the area is safe. I went for a run along the river at 530am without issues. Also enjoyed the breakfast here!
This is our 4th stay here. Sharon goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs and wishes. The units have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. The kitchens are fully equipped and so are the units' laundry facilities. There are family friendly beaches in both directions, as well as a wonderful pool, BBQ. putt-putt and table tennis area at the resort. There is also a shopping complex and service station a very short distance by car. We'll be back again.
Stayed in a chalet for two nights and everything was very clean and tidy, however I will say they are VERY basic. I also found the bed uncomfortable, I had back ache when I woke up both mornings. However you get what you pay for, the rooms are cheap so it was to be expected. Great location right next to the beach, I wouldn’t stay in a chalet again as it was a bit too basic for me, I missed my furniture from home.

massive, massive place. i don’t even know how to describe what this is. it’s a range of hotels, car park, casino, shopping centre, food court, a whole heap of restaurants & probably more that i didn’t see. i was very impressed by this place & was glad to see the benefits of my gold card in use with its benefits.

We had access to the teak room which is cool too, the bar and private casino is nice for gold card members and higher
Delightful complex busy but no noisy. Excited people in the pool that’s to be expected with the high temperatures.

Affordable spacious room with kitchenette. Impose AUD 80 cleaning fee for unclean plates
Awesome place to visit. They got some fancy bars and restaurants. The music was good and there are a lots of Casino games. One can just enjoy the casino without playing or any ticket.

Stayed at Crown Towers for a night of fun and pampering. We were given a Villa Suite on the 33rd floor which was absolutely amazing. It was the size of a House with beautiful views of the City looking down to the River. The Villa was opulent in every way.
The furnishings of this Villa were of the highest quality and it was an experience we will never forget. Electric Blinds. A full size Bar. With an Office area. And a Lounge that would be better than most homes anywhere.
This was an experience of a life time which we will never forget. The service from the Waiters to our Villa went above any expectations. We now know how the Rich and Famous live. Thank you Crown for the upgrade as it was our life time experience and made two people very happy.
Best spot in town.
Within walking distance to everything you would need. Tavern, Cafe, Beach, Bakery.
All amenities very clean and the cleanest dump point I've ever seen at a caravan park.
Would highly recommend this park to anyone.

We just recently stayed in room 208. It was dirty with dust on most surfaces and build up of dust behind and under all beds. The windows were disgusting too, with the tracks full of dust and bugs.
The 4 single beds were on wheels with no brakes, meaning they rolled around on the vinyl floor everywhere.
We did ask if we could have the wheels chocked on day 2 of our stay, which was semi fixed with what chocks could be found and either 1 or 2 of the 6 wheels were chocked on each bed, so they still rolled across the floor.

The ensuite toilet seat was dangerously loose, we asked for that to be fixed on day 2 also, which it was.

There was water damage to the floor next to the kitchen, which had formed a big hump in the floor and vinyl was lifting along the vinyl and tile seam. The kitchen cabinets were also damaged from the water.

The furniture was old and had chips and laminate peeling off it. The lounges were uncomfortable with some cushions higher than others with springs obviously on their way out.

I had to exterminate a cockroach 🪳 I found crawling all over the main bathroom vanity top one night.

The main bed was meant to be a king but was a queen, and the ikea mattress was that old and BROKEN that the sides of it had collapsed out and it felt like we were going to roll out of the bed all night on each side.

The real cruncher for us was when I pulled back all the sheets off the beds on departure and left them in the middle of the bed (as I always do)…. The main bed mattress was MOULDY!!!! And full of brown stains!! The mattress was well and truly past its time. I felt sick knowing I’d just spent 3 night sleeping on that!

Upon checking out at 10am on Saturday morning, to voice our concerns about the mattress I’d just discovered, the reception conveniently opened at 10:30. There was no paper provided to leave feedback either.

The room served its purpose, but that’s all it did. It needs a bit of love and attention and some money spent on it to bring it up to a standard you would expect from a hotel.

Whilst the reception staff were friendly and prompt with the couple of little things we asked for, we expected better. Providing a clean and working mattress, with sides that aren’t collapsed should be standard.

My stay at The Point has been enjoyable. The host is pleasant and friendly. She happy to help in anyway she can. The room is tastefully decorated with everything you would need. There's a nice pool area and of course ocean swimming across the road. There are plenty of eateries nearby. I decided on paying for a room with ocean views. Delightful.
Booked a chalet with a portacot and got a call from the park about 2 hours before arrival saying they didn't have one available. However the front desk lady Kristy had found one for me on a local buy page, we organised between us for me to pick it up and she bought it back off me after our stay. Above and beyond customer service and all round fabulous person.

Brilliant place to stay, location is right on the beach, close to shops/cafes/pubs and close to a huge kids playground. Has a huge trampoline within the park for the kids and chalets are very modern and clean.

People in reception were so lovely and helpful. Cabin itself was a bit run-down in places, but was overall clean and tidy. Couch in the cabin was an outdoor couch, so it wasn't the most comfortable, and made squeaky noises when you say in them. Table and chairs in the cabin were wobbly, unbalanced and clearly very well used, so it felt like they were on thier last leg at times and it was a little worrying to sit in them. Kitchen was very clean and most things were provided to make meals for our time there. It is a short walk to the jetty and beach from the park, so it's a glorious thing to do in the morning. The tourist Park outside was very well kept and orderly, very presentable. No soap or handwash was provided at all in the cabin, so I recommend bringing a bottle of hand soap with you, or buying some at the IGA.
Overall a nice stay, as long as you aren't planning to spend most of your day inside the cabin
My parents stayed here. Both in their eighties. The lounge was absolutely disgusting, even after they tried to clean it. We couldn’t sit on it because there was no support.
The dishwasher was switched off at the power point, under the sink.
The chairs outside wrre old and ripped. The cushioning wad coming out of them. We sat at the table for lunch and it was wobbly and falling to bits. The insinuation that because it was a Groupon we shouldn’t expect a good quality room is not acceptable.
My parents have stayed at this resort multiple times and this stay was very disappointing. Totally refused any refund. They offered to move them to another room but they were only there for a couple of days and too much work for them to move.
I booked a sea view apartment, and the view was all blocked by part of building and big trees. It was on Level 4. Not happy with the view.
Very rude staff members Karen and the manager Amy was really rude. They are just horrible. We did a weekend check-in and the whole next 2 days we were out of the apartment. They were very rude and didn't understand our situation and they asked us to physically come in to the reception from where ever we are and show the face and photo id at that time else they going to remove access from the fob. We have to beg them to keep it until 5 clock on the day. We have done all our payment fully and still they wanted to remove access from us. Cant believe the way the manager talked to me over the phone. We were already in the theme park and fully paid for the day until 5pm. Because of these ladies we had to come out of the park with kids at 2.30pm. They ruined the whole trip. Kids were very sad. Also we paid lot of money and flew from Melbourne to Gold coast only because of the theme parks. And it was my son's 10th birthday gift. These ladies ruined everything. I tired to explain her in everyway and she was very selfish. I said I can send all the details over the phone with pictures. She didn't give us a single chance. Didn't care that we are their customers. Talked to us very rudely and very racist.
Also we found many cockroaches in the apartment, and we raised the issue with reception, the same lady said close the balcony doors and stay. Didn't even care or apologise for that. The description says luxury apartments, but they kept only one little shampoo, 2 tiny tiny soap in the bathroom for 4 people for 7nights.Not a single tissue. Also in the kitchen they kept only 4 coffee sachets + 4 sugar sachets for 4 people. When I ask from them the lady said that all they give you have to buy them. Even a cheap caravan park cabin stay will have all the items for all the days that we stay.

The staff Karen and Amy, they are the worst people that I've ever met.
We had a great over night stay last night. We had a non powered site up along the main road, it was surprisingly quiet. This park has good amenities, lovely staff, basic camp kitchen that does the job. The cafe/Bar was a nice surprise, where we relaxed in the evening watching kids jumping off the pier. A lovely spot to stay.
My husband and I popped by Thala on our way to Port Douglas because of the amazing coconut grove at the front of the property, and were immediately smitten!
Johan (apologies if it's not the right spelling) met us in the car park and shuttled us to the main reception building for a quick drink. We were immediately wowed by the view, the architecture, the beautiful service and pool. On impulse we booked a two night stay, and weren't disappointed!
Check in was seamless, we stayed in the Jungle Bungalow and immediately fell in love with the location and the serenity. Woke up every morning to the sound of waves crashing on the beach and birds singing in the trees...what more could you ask for??
I was treated to an amazing massage and facial with Alanie, and felt so well looked after and spoiled the entire time. Couldn't recommend it any higher if I tried!
Osprey was absolutely incredible from the food to the fantastic service for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We would give Thala 10 stars if we could, and will definitely be back again!
Thank you to the incredible team!
We had a 2 bed chalet with fully equipped kitchen. The chalet was spotlessly clean. The beach a short stroll away
Beautiful forest and beach location with a secluded feel but still not too far from Port Douglas. Excellent helpful and friendly staff. The one restaurant is Osprey with breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfasts are particularly delicious. Colorful lorikeets and cockatoos entertained us from the trees by the restaurant. The resort offers fun and interesting nature walks and other activities. We really enjoyed our walk with Dave, our knowledgeable nature guide. There is beautiful art of local scenery, history, and wildlife from notable local artists. Bookings to Great Barrier Reef and Rain Forests included pickups from the resort. The bed was very comfortable.
Good location since it's close to the beach, playground and skate park with only a walking distance away. There is a common kitchen area with a stove, fridge, microwave and sink for washing. There is also a BBQ outside of the kitchen with some benches and tables undercover. Closer towards the powered tent sites. In the corner. There is wifi inside but the speed in my area which was the corner with powered tent sites is poor speed. There is tap in each powered tent sites. The toilets are kept locked and only accessible with pin given to people inside the sites. Overall, didn't have too much issues with the neighbours.
Amenities are clean, and the park is in a great location, BUT if you get into an older site, make sure your van fits, not much roadway to back in due to cabins being so close. The new part is great. I'm not sure if being a member gives you an advantage🤔
Rooms are self-contained log cabins surrounded by rainforest. The cabins have a combined living and sleeping area with an en-suite, and an outside balcony area with views of the forest. A paved path leads to each cabin, which are not overlooked by others.

The site has forest walks down to two beaches, through mangroves and palm trees. Wildlife including birds and lizards fill the area. Morning wildlife spotting tours are available to book.

Behind the restaurant is an open-air swimming pool with shallow and deep areas, a bubble pool, waterfall, and a cave. Extra towels are available from reception to use at the pool.

Reception and restaurant staff are really friendly and welcoming. They can arrange transport on the site by buggy for luggage, or transport to other attractions by bus or coach.

The on-site restaurant has a very limited menu which while caters for dietary requirements it doesn't provide a lot of option. The fries are listed as gluten free on the menu, but the staff confirmed they are not so best double check when ordering anything. The restaurant staff are helpful, and you can order "off menu" for breakfast if you ask nicely.

A bus can be arranged by reception to take you into Port Douglas which has a large number of cafes and restaurants. Definitely worth taking a trip for dinner if you want food as you're spoilt for choice.
Will NOT be using this supposed 4.5 star 'resort' again. Please check the photos attached. This was not worth the money we paid. Filthy carpets, a non working dishwasher, a gym that isn't a gym and dangerous cookware. Please do the ring around before booking a room here.
What’s not to love!! Immerse yourself into the trees, birds, sound of the waves, the soothing atmosphere that’s good for the soul :) Yes it’s a little dated, but in a nice way and for me it just added to the charm. Lamb shoulder dinner was absolutely amazing, as was lunch fish n chips & beef baguette. Awesome cocktails. Comfy bed. Friendly staff. Really glad we didn’t let any negative reviews put us off..
Beautiful nature reserve location, the staff are amazing and very helpful. Food is great and the ospreys restaurant has great views of the coast line. We were well looked after on our honey moon, we only wish se had of stayed longer :)
A friend suggested we stay at the Iconic Kirra and we are so glad we took her advice.
Reception staff are friendly, welcoming and available during business hours to assist if required.
We stayed on the 3rd floor with an oceanfront room and it did not disappoint. The view was incredible and we spent hours sitting on the large balcony watching the whales.
Kitchen had all the necessities inc. fridge, freezer, kettle, cutlery, toaster etc.
There is also a washing machine, iron, laundry rack which was helpful!
Master bedroom is large and bed/pillows were very comfortable. We had our 9 month old in the second bedroom in the portacot.
Location is ideal as everything is in walking distance with lots of great cafes and restaurants underneath the apartment complex.
Pool is great and has a lovely undercover area as well as plenty of sun beds lining the pool. The only downside is that in the afternoon not a lot of sunshine hits the pool area so it can get quite cool. On the plus side, the beach is literally across the road!
We would definitely book again if we are every holidaying in the GC.

Iconic Kirra Beach was a great place to stay.
Fabulous ocean views.
Restaurants downstairs were very convenient.
Apartment 1002 was lovely and very well presented.
We had a really nice stay.
Thankyou
What’s not to love?
We just spent 5 nights at Thala and once again it didn’t fail to impress. Two standout features:
* the staff - they are amazing, friendly and stopped at nothing to make our stay comfortable and just as we wanted it.
* the location - the nature reserve is unmatched anywhere else I have stayed. The environmental sustainability of the resort is 30 years in the making and unquestioned. The sounds of the ocean and birds are beautiful to fall asleep and wake up to.
We stayed in the Sandpiper suite and can’t recommend it highly enough.
A short drive into Pt Douglas when you want to and only an hour to the Daintree River Ferry.

What a gem this place is. Loved waking up to the sound of the forest and the birds. You get a long, lovely stretch of private beach. Beaches, I should add. And it's also not too far from Port Douglas if you want to head to town. I just wish they had more dining options.

Also want to shout out to the friendly staff!
Fabulous location, very helpful staff. Rooms were excellent this is our second stay this year and we stayed in the oceanfront top floor. Loved being able to whale watch from our balcony, can highly recommend.
People lovely. The $60.00 a night for a powered site is twice as much as it should be. Only one caravan park so they charge what they like. Men showers have no exhaust fans clothes get very damp. These prices is why we look for free spots. Just be careful of the price way to dear. Captive audience charge what you like, how very wrong wake up caravan Parks look after the people who look after you. Danny
Great place to stay.

Extremely friendly staff, helpful with some tips on our travel north.

Amenities were clean
Park was tidy
Showers were hot
Plenty of space

Would stay again
Unless you love “rustic” which is not reflected in the price, I can’t recommend Thala. The buggy drivers and front desk team were nice folk. Restaurant food was meh- menu ambitious, but flavours didn’t make the grade. I saw more birds in town on the golf course than at the resort. Internet was spotty- which was a disaster for us as we telecommute. The resort does seem to care about nature, but stocked the rooms with disposable plastic shampoo and conditioner bottles. Also, the bungalows are too close to each other.
Resort is rather congested, compromising privacy. Fortunately my villa had a good lookout. Parking can be tricky unless one is a confident driver.
Management was very inflexible in regard to late checkouts. Highly unusual in my experience.
A great place to stay in the quieter area of Kirra Beach. It's located well with cafes and restaurants right nearby and access to beach right there.
The staff have been amazing and we're so kind to us when we needed to change our dates. I recommend booking with them directly rather than through another site as they give same price and can manage your booking personally.
The apartments are great, bed very comfortable, equipped with everything you need and even provided with initial items such as to, dish washing liquid, laundry liquid etc even though the apartments are non-serviced.
Would recommend and stay again.
Really enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, modern and great facilities. The beds were so comfortable - nice and firm. Pool area was great (pool a little cold!) Beach was perfect. Not busy. Nice restaurants and cafes along the small strip. Unfortunately it was noisy in the mornings (roadworks). But would definitely return.
A beautiful place well worth the visit. It is a smaller resort but that’s where the magic is, it’s so peaceful and quiet and you are surrounded by so much natural beauty and nature. There are lovely beaches nearby as well as the beautiful lakes to explore. Definitely check out seal rocks and Forster Tuncurry. The people at reception and maintenance were lovely and easy going too so that made it so much better than at some of the bigger resorts, will definitely come back
Absolutely loved our stay!! Clean and comfortable. Will definitely be back. Great central spot! Can walk or ride to so many different locations
Was quite but needs updating
Need's an oven for a family staying and the swimming pool needs heating for winter use

Timeshare resort.nice big rooms in bush setting.5 min walk to beach or lakes .local club is recreation club is fine for a meal otherwise not a lot of shops around .nice drive to Forster for shops 20mins.
We loved it. Beautiful and clean. Awesome view from the 15th floor. Even noticed when when we took our recycled goods down to the bin area, so clean and tidy. And never any smell of rubbish anywhere. Excellent job to all working so hard to make your place such a lovely place to stay. Front office staff were brilliant as well, when we booked in. Definitely coming back. Thanks for making our holiday so memorable
Absolutely lovely holiday units. We found it very clean and presentable.
We booked a 2 bedroom suite and were quite disappointed on the basic furnishings. The room hadn't been maintained at all. A linen closet had no handle(it was sitting on shelf) The shared bathroom door handle was loose and didn't lock from the main room. Bed linen was at a minamim. On checking out we dropped the keys at drop off and realised we had left some small gifts on kitchen bar. After immediately calling reception, they said they were unable to open the room for us to retrieve the gifts til cleaning staff went in. I contacted hotel on the Monday and I have not had any call back since March14th...Not very professional at all...

This place wasn't bad. The rooms were a bit spacious, clean, with a balcony that had a great view. The medium sized pool was well kept and even had a hot tub. The few things I could nitpick with the resort is that trying to gain internet access is difficult and the arcade machines are somewhat overpriced. But other than that this place was pleasant.
The location is perfect. Easy to get to from the airport, in fact we walked! The rooms were spacious and uncluttered making it easy for storage when travelling . The ocean front room we stayed in had stunning panoramic views . The Iconic is surrounded by high standard food and coffee. The staff are exceptional, you knew you were being cared for in a professional friendly courteous manner.
Their advice of places to eat and visit were accurate. They also organised where certain discounts may apply.
After only one day since returning home We are already looking to rebook

Not as nice as it was 12 months ago
Location is great, we were lucky to get a water view..
Furnishings were modern, couch was leather and comfortable. The beds were horrendous especially in the 2nd bedroom - they were so hard my back was in spasms every morning and I could hardly walk. Nearly packed up and came home early..
They definitely only supply 1 of everything, 1 dishwasher tablet, 1 dish liquid sachet, 1 garbage bag, 1 roll of toilet paper. I really believe you should be supplied 1 of everything for every day of your stay. If they require you to buy your own they should let you know in advance so you can pack them and bring with you from home..
We stayed in October and weather was mid to high 20's, I would absolutely hate to have stayed in summer, no bedrooms are air-conditioned, only the loungeroom, we nearly moved our beds into the loungeroom.
The bedrooms did have ceiling fans but even on high it would have spun faster turning it with your finger. We had to ring downstairs for them to bring up pedestal fans too, we had them both going to help. So I would definitely not stay in summer or stay if you don't like really hard beds. Other than that was ok. Restaurants downstairs were great but none of them deliver to your room nor can you even order over the phone and go down to collect.
Our 2nd bedroom didn't even have a wardrobe to unpack anything, our suitcases had to stay in the loungeroom.
I don't think we would stay again as our priority in accommodation first and foremost is comfort , then air-conditioning followed by view...
I would rate 0 star if I could. Our experience was completely ruined by someone living at the apartment taking our car spot for half of our stay. Management and owner clearly did not care and promised compensation initially however decided not to fulfil this promise post our stay. Very disappointing experience and would not recommend at all.
I would not recommend, the room we stayed in did not look like the photos. The internet photos date back some decades. The room we were in was falling apart, very dirty needed a desperate deep clean. The receptionist was short with her attitude. The pool and spa are was amazing, the location was amazing, the parking was great.
It is an amazing place to stay, all the staff are really friendly and willing to help. The only bad thing that will say is that the shower head would either point extremely to the or right. Apart from that could not fault it at all. It is in the perfect spot to the theme parks and to surfers paradise
Great place for a family get away, Pool is lovely, there are nice BBQ areas a Club for dinner a walk away a beach a walk away. Clean newly renovated rooms. Shout out to Paul the maintenance man who went above and beyond to help me out on the last day when I threw my car keys in the skip bin!
The best feature is the location location location. But unfortunately that is where it stops. Communication is not their strong point. No reply to emails. I rang to update my card details for payment 2 days prior to checking in, and was told everything was fine and it was all sorted. It wasn’t. The payment was processed days later and on the wrong card, causing all sorts of banking issues for us. We were given unit 8 which is a 2 bedroom apartment with ocean views. Whilst the floor has been moped with bleach, there was still used coffee pods in the coffee machine, the ceiling fans were covered in rust and dirt, the range hood was covered in grease. The skylight in the one and only bathroom was rotting. The toilet cistern was crumbling. The screen doors had rusted and seized so that they cannot be locked, only the glass sliding door was able to be secured. The shower head has a leak in the actual attachment that sprays right into your face. The bed in the main bedroom, you roll and sink into the middle of the bed - needs a new mattress, not just the extra piece of foam on top. Clearly has been poorly maintained and is very dated. Desperate need of a refurb. The apartment served it purpose, but certainly not worth what we paid for. Which is very sad. There is so very much potential here for something amazing. 3 stars given but that is purely for the location.

Very clean beach. Private and quiet.
