Excellent pharmacist who did a phone consult within 1/2 hour with my elder mother. Fantastic service. Thank you.

Some employees lack proper customer service etiquette. The middle aged asian lady who assisted me today showed an unnecessary attitude & irritating reaction to my simple query. This behavior is unexpected from a retailer like Shoppers

Every time I come to Canada Post, they answer me very rudely…. I have never met such rude staff as in this place. Today there was a woman who answered my requests very rudely. Every time I go there, I leave with a very unpleasant feeling and resentment. I hope you can better control this point. Because people do not deserve such an attitude towards themselves. Thus, your sales will get worse and worse each time…

Tried to get a senior discount today since I was purchasing diapers and other items for my elderly mother who is disabled. They would'nt give it to me unless I showed ID with my age. After showing her my id she wanted be to get in line where you pay by cash but i was paying by debit at the self checkout section. I ended up just buying the stuff without the discount and walked out. I had the same issue at the Thorncliffe park location. I wont even ask for the discount any more because I get harassed by the cashiers for asking at both these locations. None of them have any manners at all !!!!!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. Least attentive pharmacy staff I've ever encountered. Rude, slow, and just flat out less than amicable. Would recommend not going to this location and visiting ANY other shoppers for prescriptions.

Get your pharmacy a computer at pick-up. It is insane to expect them to jot down or retain info and walk back and forth between the till and their computers. The employee and customer experiences are going to be worse off even for the most uncomplicated transactions.

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, at approximately 6:18 p.m., I visited Shoppers Drug Mart located at 1644 Hillside Ave, Victoria, BC and complained to the employee on duty, Miss Kennedy, about some photos they had previously taken of me, which were rejected by IRCC due to technical specifications. (low resolution, brightness, etc.).

This unfortunately caused me to lose valuable time in receiving my PR (Permanent Resident) Card... after many years of waiting and agony to achieve it! Now I have to buy myself more patience...!

Anyway, Miss Kennedy left me completely impressed with her professionalism and sense of customer service and she refunded the money I paid.

Not only is Loblaws a leader in retail in Canada, but they should also be proud to have people who truly listen to customers' needs and offer options to solve them.

Also, I really appreciate the customer service, the entire staff from the pharmacy assistant to the pharmacist was amazing. Honestly, I would like to work in a work environment like this!

Does this Shoppers actually think that by posting “thank you for bringing this to our attention” they are delivering actual customer service? It’s shameful and plain disgusting. I’ve been reviewing these post for the past year and NOTHING changes. They are absolutely USELESS. My 78 year old mother waited for hours to have her pills delivered, while in desperate pain, and they never showed. NEVER SHOWED. We tried to call and the phone system is s$&@. No one ever answers. They simply don’t care about patients. Nobody, any age. I live in Uxbridge and the Shoppers there is equally as bad. This is another example of Galen Weston ripping off customers to make his billions of $$… and the pharmacists managing these operations should be jailed- it’s criminal and they too should be held accountable. It’s inexcusable to leave a 78 year old in so much pain because you can’t be bothered to do your job. I’ll be looking into a complaint to the Ontario Pharmacists Association. I pray you are treated as badly in your senior years- what goes around comes around. Remember that - when you are almost 80, crying out in pain… and your pharmacy gives you the middle finger.

My son needed a tetanus shot and even though they normally only do them on Tuesday’s they fit us in and did it anyways. Really appreciate the customer service all staff from Pharmacy assist to pharmacist were amazing
I’m absolutely done shopping here. The makeup department is the worst I’ve seen at any shoppers. Only the Indian girl is nice, the rest couldn’t care less about customers. The fat one with the glasses is just plain rude and unprofessional.

***GIFTCARD SCAM WARNING!!!***

I purchased an amazon giftcard off the shelf from this store. After opening the card and attempting to add it to my account online, I received an alert that the card had already been redeemed by someone else! After confirming that the card had not been accidentally redeemed on my account, I went back to this store.

The card must have been tampered with, and when I brought this up the staff mentioned that they have heard of this happening at the store before. They said there was NOTHING I could do except call their help line. The help line did nothing useful and simply directed me to Amazon. At this point, I was directed to take it up with the bank to report it.

I am disappointed by how easy it was for scammers to use Shoppers Drug Mart to steal! DO NOT buy giftcards from this store!
The pharmacy team are nice and kind people. Thank you for helping me sort out my mom's prescription

I've been to many shoppers pharmacy, this is the worst...

On my first visit, the pharmacist doesn't know how to add my insurance - I showed her the same insurance card I show to every pharmacy which nobody had issue with applying the insurance. It took the girl 20 mins or so to try everything after which she told me to come back after weekend so that she can call my insurance company to figure out. After I asked for my prescription back so that I could go to another pharmacy, she offered to call another shoppers I've been to, and the staff there finally taught her how to add insurance properly....

On my second visit, I arrived at 8 pm and I was told they will try their best to prepare my prescription by end of night. I only received text message that prescription was ready until 8 pm the next day. Fine. Then I went and picked up and went back home, then realized only 2 of my prescription were filled....Come on, there are 2 pieces of paper with 3 prescriptions. How can I trust a pharmacy if the staff's attention to detail is at this level...? You are working in a life-matering industry, and that's the level of work quality you are holding to?

With all of these experience with this place, I sincerely suggest the management team to enhance the training of your team members. I've honestly never had similar experience with other pharmacy or other shoppers stores.

Adding a fresh new terrible experience from today. I was shopping for boxing week deals, somehow I feel the security guy have been following me and watching me for a long time while I was browsing for the handcream. And he seemed to follow me till the cashier.....Is it because i am shopping for too long, or I am simply an Asian girl? It's very insulting. I had no idea before today that I look like a thief. I earn +$150k per year, home owner, drive luxury car. I thought I was the definition of middle class, until today. I need a new Shoppers in this area, this one really sucks.
Here is how the staff is treating customers with a child bleeding and just looking for a bandage. Staff asked three times to leave the store within 3 minutes before closure, in a very, very rude manner. I can understand we arrived just before store closes, but can we show a minimum of humanity and patience, and accept to be 1 minute late in some unusual contexts? No need to be rude and agressive.

The non-pharmacy staff, especially the cashiers, have been consistently top notch. The pharmacy experience has been a hit and miss. Sadly, there has been one miss too many to my liking. The straw that broke the camels back happened a few months ago. A very long wait to pick up my prescription even though there was only one person ahead of me and four (4) people, including the franchisee associate, working in the pharmacy area. Yet, not a single grunt to acknowledge my presence or otherwise afford a minimum courtesy for the long wait.
That's when it finally dawned on me: "I have other options, there are other places selling exactly the same prescription medications, often at a lower dispensing fee and lower cost." Ever since this epiphany, I have been filling my prescriptions at the nearby Peanut Plaza IDA. Same meds, more professional staff, excellent customer service, lower dispensing fees. Sure I can't buy a fancy lipstick while I am waiting for my drugs, but that's not an issue for me.
In the spirit of helping someone else who might need decent service while filling a simple prescription, please let me save you the trouble: choose a different pharmacy if at all possible. In the case of someone needing help with a prescription far more urgently than I did, the lack of professionalism and care here could actually prove serious.
After considerable delay and genuinely surprising rudeness at this location, I opted for a different Shoppers pharmacy and none of the same issues came up; everything went smoothly and politely. Hope this helps someone who just needs some basic service and not confusing, unnecessary hassle!

I have been there a few times recently, and I see significant improvement, night and day difference. More stuff, much quicker process.

--------------------
Below is my original comment:

Long wait time: I waited for 2.83 hours for a bottle of 20 tablets.

Chaotic management: More than once they gave me the old prescription and told me they received no updates, though my doctor had sent them the new prescription.

Poor experience: I lined up the first and left the last, it must be a stack!

Though I appreciate your kind service and hard effort, I must make this complaint, because perhaps, there just might be something wrong.

Excellent service! I wanted to return a cosmetic and the staff saw I was looking for support and asked me what I needed, even before she went up to the cash. It was a Revlon lipstick and she chatted with me a bit about cosmetics too! Very friendly and smooth service! Left here with a very good impression and speedy service!

I called tonight around 7:24PM, had a really bad experience with the the lady who picked up the phone.
I called to refill my Dad's prescription, she told me that I used up my refill and she need to fax the doctor to get the new prescription. I was asking about how much refill I can get, can I have 2 months refill then? All of a sudden, she raised up her voice and said I told you I will fax the doctor. Well, I just need a little bit clarification if I can get the 2 months refill at the same time, didn't mean to take so much time of her.
I have been a royal customer to this location for many years, but this is the worst experience ever and I really hope Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy can pay attention to the customer service and have a good training to their employees. I hope no one will ever be treated in this way.

Update 5 months later:
This week I was preparing to transfer my prescriptions to another pharmacy, it required me to goto Shoppers have them transfer my subscription to the other Pharmacy, but when I got to the desk I decided to just give it another shot.

Everything went smoothly and people in the long line in front of me was promptly served. The staff all seemed to be new faces since (5 months ago) my last visit... but I was pleasantly surprised when I went to get my prescription a few days later:

When arriving to pickup today, an elderly lady who was just about to leave, was very appreciative of the service of the pharmacist as she left, had thanked him profusely.
Then the same pharmacist helped me and he promptly got my prescription, and that's when he surprised me... as I paid, he told me he saw my review online... and that he was very sorry for my experience, and that he and his coworkers had reflected on it and wanted to improve.
I was very surprised! and told him I really appreciated it, and said I'm happy to see that they have really improved.

I felt a bit guilty after leaving so I decided to update this review.

I feel they deserve another chance to show their improved efforts =). I hope your visits were as pleasant as mine.

What happened to the pharmacy department here in the last year? I’ve used them for most of my adult life. Completely new staff with people who don’t seem to be interested in their jobs…

Told me my prescription expired, then had to have me come in person to speak to a pharmacist, no problem, after to wait 40 minutes to pickup, all fine but then I come back and turns out they didn’t even have my prescription and I had to wait for them to call me back next week.
Sure I’ll wait. Never called.
Come back later next week and they gave away my prescription to someone else? Wow

Talked to the pharmacist and they agreed there has been lack of communication and it was completely unacceptable she said. Fine I’ll wait til it’s in and theyll call me back. I’m patient. No call back next week either. What’s going on??

Try to call them and wait on the line. Line gets cut dropped call, call again and wait another 15 minutes. Someone pickups to say a code or something and hangs up. Nice. In total I spent probably 30 minutes holding for a lot of “one moment please”.

Guess I’ll come back in person since they won’t answer the line.

Find another pharmacy this one’s no longer dependable.

Shoppers drug mart at Bridlewood mall is the worst. They made me wait 3 hours after my surgery to get me medicines. They were explaining that they need to call doctor. I need medicine after 30 mins so I didnot have pain but they made me wait 3 hours and after 3 hours, I called my doctor and when doctor arrived, pharmacist there said their system is not working. Worst shoppers drug mart, worst services and Pharmacists were showing attitude to other patients as well. Kind request, please Don't go there.

Shoppers Drug Mart, located at 747 Don Mills Road, is a convenient and well-stocked pharmacy that offers a wide range of healthcare and beauty products. I recently visited the store and was impressed with the selection of items, the cleanliness of the store, and the helpfulness of the staff.

As soon as I walked into the store, I was greeted by a friendly staff member who offered to assist me with anything I needed. The store was well-organized, making it easy to navigate and find what I was looking for. The pharmacy section was especially impressive, with a large selection of prescription medications, over-the-counter remedies, and vitamins and supplements.

In addition to the pharmacy section, Shoppers Drug Mart also has a well-stocked beauty department. There were plenty of products to choose from, including skincare, makeup, and haircare products from well-known brands. The prices were reasonable, and I appreciated the fact that there were always staff members on hand to answer questions and provide recommendations.

One thing that stood out to me was the store's commitment to safety. There were signs throughout the store reminding customers to wear masks, and hand sanitizer stations were available at the entrance and throughout the store. I also noticed that the staff members were diligent about wiping down surfaces and keeping the store clean.

Overall, I had a positive experience at Shoppers Drug Mart on Don Mills Road. The store was well-stocked, organized, and clean, and the staff members were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a convenient and reliable pharmacy or beauty store.

Talk about incompetent staff and Manager. Don't buy electronics from Shoppers esp. this location. I found a better tablet for $100 cheaper. So much for supporting Canadian stores! I wanted to purchase 2 Electronic items from this store on their bonus points redemption days. I was there on a Monday and was told if I returned on Thursday I could benefit from their seniors discount as well and put the items on hold. When I returned on Thursday I was told I needed to purchase another $30 to get the higher points benefit. While at the register it appeared something was wrong, and an older rude lady came over to assist and told me that promotion ended you can't get the points benefit. I said that I was told I could, she made a couple of snarky comments and I could tell she motioned something behind my back to the young girl helping me. This is their mistake and I'm getting attitude! Some people shouldn't be working! I asked for the Manager, who then tells me again the discount isn't working because the points program ended the day before. I explained the situation again to him. He tells me he must have misunderstood originally, no apology or option to try and rectify their error to make a customer happy especially a senior who is on a fixed income as he just stood there staring at me. I drove from Georgetown twice and will be a third time when I return the purchases .
I was there for 1 1/2 hours for nothing!

I switched from rexall because they were unorganized little did I know this place is much worse. It a waste of time to even call and explain things to them. Their auto refill program is a total joke. Just a scam to try and get you to buy more then you need and when you call them they say we will place it on hold then text the next day saying it’s ready smh. Call back and they blame head office. No one take accountability for their actions. Stay away from this place it’s a disaster. On to the next pharmacy.
The pharmacy customer service is certainly disappointing, extremely rude and one employee in paticular has absolutely no customer service skills! Definitely contemplating taking my business elsewhere

Decent store with friendly staff, but questionable pharmacy and overall management. I have had numerous experiences with long line ups due to pharmacy staff being in a confused state trying to help the first person in line. Friendly suggestion - maybe have someone dedicated to dealing with the customer challenge and have one of the other four pharmacy members moving the line along? Today I tried to refill a prescription over the phone, numerous times between 7 AM and 10 PM - using both my landline and cell - but get dead air and then hung up on every time. How can your phone be down for an entire day? I am giving up at this point and will try Rexall instead.

I previously rate this location with 1 star, but the last experience I had was quite pleasant, they actually took the time to help me and the other customers in line. The difference was night and day. Good job on the improvement 👏 👍

1star

Tried to book for Covid test over the phone, been on hold for hours, no answer, tried several times, no answer. Finally, decided to drive and book in person and all 3 of them just ignoring the phone while it's ringing. Was told they can't book the test in person, only over the phone. I understand that we all have to follow procedures, but the lack of effort to help and do something about it was just unacceptable. Maybe it's time to assess your quality of customer service and be more helpful. A little kindness goes a long way.

Half of the pharmacy's staff are great. Unfortunately the other half are unhelpful and verging on rude or perhaps just not very smart? When a pharmacists says not her concern because 'I only work on Sundays", and I ask 3 more times please look into why my last two refill requests weren't filled to finally be told I should call the 1800 Shippers main number and ask. Oh well, the other half of staff are still great !
The staff is very friendly and would assist you in your queries in a friendly manner. Not a full sized store, but they get the job done.

I have tested POSITIVE for Covid-19 and it has been a really rough ride to say the least. I had some prescriptions I needed, called the pharmacy, not only were they sympathetic, but they offered to delivery my meds free of charge. Because they were coming out, they even were able to tag on some grocery items, such as OJ, Advil, Tylenol etc. The staff are great and so helpful. Thank you for making it a little easier to self isolate.

Cons:

• This is my first time visiting this branch, and I was impressed by its convenient location near Don Mills Road and a TTC bus stop, making it easy to access by public transportation.
• The store is spacious and well-organized, offering a wide selection of products to meet all your needs.

• I was also pleased with the level of customer service—the staff were friendly, attentive, and eager to assist, creating a welcoming and efficient shopping experience. It’s a great spot to visit if you’re looking for both convenience and excellent service.

The pharmacy staff are extremely rude. Absolutely horrible attitude. They were really annoyed when I gave them my insurance card at the time of purchase instead of "registering before". I was told on the phone by another staff to bring my insurance card at the time of my purchase. However, I was met with passive-aggressiveness and they made it seem like giving them my insurance card at the time of my purchase was an inconvenience, even though it's a part of their job. A pharmacy is not just a place of business, it is health care. The least you can do is have a positive attitude, have patience, and be nicer to the people you serve.

The pharmacy staff was excellent. They were exceptionally kind and compassionate on what was a very difficult day.
Was in today to get contact care, eye drops, and some scratch tickets. The lady behind the counter didn't put my stuff in a bag so when I asked for a bag she said with attitude I guess as she rolled her eyes at me then proceeded to toss my items into the bag.... IF YOU HATE YOUR JOB THEN DON'T DO IT!!!! IF YOU JUST WANT TO SIT AROUND AND TALK TO YOUR COWORKERS GET A NEW JOB!!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR CUSTOMERS A LITTLE BIT MORE RESPECT!!!!!!
