beautifully curated, well taken care of museum. the attendant at the front desk was very helpful and eager to answer our questions. it was amazing seeing the history. the gift shop was very nice!
Lovely old Courthouse building with well curated displays.
Entry- some activities to keep kids busy while waiting although we didn’t wait.
Main floor - the set up is like walking through the changing times from the area looking at buildings as though you are on a street. It is very interactive and great for kids. There was a scavenger hunt (pictures on paper) they can do and adults ended up doing it as well.
Second floor - this floor changes and was under construction for new exhibits but they did have an extensive aboriginal/residental school exhibit.
Third floor - Ukraine, war and small music area.
Basement? We saw as we were leaving an old fire truck and something else that we must have missed in the baseball.

Such a great curated local museum! Beyond my expectations! First floor had the best interpretation signs, the other floors had too long of descriptions and took too long to read, but the artifacts are fantastic! Really great flow of the museum, clean, frequent updates (Jane Goodall exhibit), and nice staff! Definitely recommend going and spending couple hours there!
The New Westminster Museum is a place you want to return to. The history of the city from the beginning to the present day is shown. From what is presented you will learn how the city developed and what life was like. Construction achievements and sports victories. Stories about brave firefighters and police officers. Even the door of the local university has been preserved! You can get acquainted with the paintings of local artists whose paintings are exhibited nearby. A wonderful place with free entry and comfortable places to relax.
Quaint little museum in the south end of Thunder Bay. Good to kill a couple of hours unearthing some of the towns past, tie in with a trip to Fort William and you’ll have a good overall picture of the area throughout recent history

Great museum! One of my favourite layout styles for sure where you can pretend to visit various olde thyme shops/services.
A free museum in the Anvil Centre, if you're already here to see the New Media Gallery or the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame, check it out. The exhibits include memorabilia, artifacts, newspaper reprints and even a 1926 Ford Model T and a New Westminster Police motorcycle.

A great place to visit and it's by donation.The first floor has all the history of TB , how people moved and what were the busineeses back at that time .The second floor presented a history of deseases and medications and on the third floor , there was an exhibition of beautiful pictures in black&white taken from Thunder Bay.

Today I went to the Richmond Library to use the computer and print some documents.
I had problem to find the right website to get the record of my covid vaccines.
I am going to travel to Peru and I need to print that document.
I approached to the counter to ask for help. Miss Kelly was very helpful, she suggested different ways to access the right website. She appeared like an angel.

Very interesting museum. Lots of history here. The fresnel lens from Cape Forchu lighthouse is there and an interesting Mastodon exhibit. A little difficult to enter. We tried front door and several other doors before we found a way in only to find the front door was open but had to be forcefully opened . We thought it was locked. Entrance fee $7.
A wonderful collection. It is a great place to take your kids so they can see some old timey things.

A lot of local history on display. Wide variety of antiques and machines from the past on display. The Mastodon display has a lot of interesting bones and a full scale display. Good for young children as there is lots for them to explore and see.
We were visiting Yarmouth and took an afternoon to see the Mastodon. But wow -- so many other cool things to see! Kids twelve and under are free; adults are $12. It was definitely worth the visit.

As part of Open Doors Ottawa, got to tour the facility. Strong support from staff members clearly proud of the role of this intriguing Canadian Art jewel.
Some really interesting finds here. An eclectic mix of Marine artifacts, oddities and antique everyday items. Check out the basket made from an armadillo!

This is a great place to pick up books and movies.
Lots of new books, place is large, can work or study here as it is quiet with free fast WiFi. Also has 3D printer, Cricut, and regular printing service and computer to use
We went for the family day promotion where admission was free for all. We got there shortly after they opened and the parking lot was already packed (their parking lot is quite small to begin with). However, we were able to find street parking a few blocks away. As it was a public holiday, the place was packed. We've been here a few times before but when the children's play area was under renovation. We were pleasantly surprised that the play area was open and it was definitely the highlight. There are a ton of hands-on independent play activities including dress up, building blocks, and stuffed puppet animals, to name a few. One part of our visit that was quite uncomfortable was a professional photographer who was actively taking photos of kids. Originally I thought they were a parent, until I saw that they were taking photos of every kid in the space. I may have missed a notice saying that photos would be taken on this day but I know many folks who would have an issue with this as not all parents/guardians will give consent to people taking photos of their child. In the gallery room, I believe to celebrate family day, they provided some complimentary snacks. It would have been nice to have had some labels to identify all of the foods for those with dietary restrictions or allergies. The only thing I recognized was bannock. It would have also been nice to know where each of the food was catered from. We were only able to stay for about 45 minutes but overall, we had a good time. By the time we left, there was a line outside that went all the way to the parking lot, probably due to the free admission.
What a beautiful museum! Our 2 and 4 year old kids greatly enjoyed the exhibitions and seeing pieces of history. Would love to come back again next time.
I visited the Vancouver Maritime Museum with my family and it was our second time there. We had a wonderful experience once again! The RCMP ship on display is incredibly well-preserved and it's amazing to see how well the ship has been maintained over the years. But what really stood out to us was the kid's playground. It's been recently renovated and it's incredibly family-friendly, which made our visit even more enjoyable. Our child had a blast playing there and it was a great way to break up the museum visit for them. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. We were fortunate enough to attend a family event on Family Day and the free cookies and drinks were a nice touch. Our child loved them! We highly recommend the Vancouver Maritime Museum for anyone looking for a fun and educational day out with the family.
After 12 years in Vancouver, finally came here to check it out. Pretty interesting for kids as well. My 6 year old boy was very exited to check real 100 years old ship from inside. Its not big museums, but where else you can see 100 year old ship and go on board?
I love this library❤️ They have two levels and both are spacious. Lots of seatings, computers and their manga section is huge. A great place to study 📚
An interesting small local museum. It is free and no one around
Really neat, specialized museum housed in a unique structure. Some of the exhibits and spaces are a bit old, but the main exhibit - the St. Roch - was well-maintained and housed in an impressive space. I liked how we could climb up to the ship's deck and even explore parts of its interior, include parts of the lower deck. Shoutout to the staff member manning the ship - he was very friendly and willing to answer our questions. There was also a host of exhibits surrounding the ship that gives great information on the ship's background and history. For a casual visit, an hour would be good.
My little one loves this place. Art Class, pottery, ballet, dance and etc. the library is child friendly and have lots of services like 3D printing, regular printing, photocopy and etc. its super easy to register and borrow books here.

Hidden away museum in a beautiful building on Columbia St. Easy to miss, but if you catch it this little place is a wonderful 15-30 minute self-guided tour of some interesting artifacts, the history of New Westminster, and the origins of British Columbia. It’s also in the same building as the New Westminster archives if looking at old papers is your thing.
Completely free, air conditioned, and public washrooms available (great to stop in for a cool down on these hot summer days!). The lobby also has an abundance of brochures and guides for events and places to visit all around B.C.

Among Vancouver's museums I feel like this one is often overlooked! What most people don't realize is that there's some really good stuff here! It's not all ships and containers (I mean those are cool too). In recent years there's an increased emphasis on Inuit and First Nations exhibits. Things are well kept and theres a lot to take in!

One of the premiere Canadian art institutions. If you haven't seen the Art Bank for yourself I highly recommend it when you have the chance.
A small museum, but nonetheless very interesting!! Entry by donation. I was the only person in the museum, so it was nice and quiet. I finished in 1 hour and I read everything. A perfect rainy afternoon activity!
Small, free, under staffed, no one around archives are only open on Thursday 10-5. Very small museum attached to Lacrosse Hall of Fame

We visited Art Bank during Open Doors weekend and surprised by the hudge inventory of art pieces
Visited during Doors Open Ottawa. Great opportunity to see works of contemporary Canadian art that are not normally on show to the public. Very cool being able to wander around and pull out racks of paintings.
Friendly staff. Museum has some pretty great content for all ages and only costed $3 per person. Nice way to spent 30-40 minutes, especially if your from out of town.
Nestled like a fine pearl inside an absurdly-shaped clam, this museum is a must if you have children and a spare 7 minutes. We thought we would risk a little visit to try to up our family class level (actually, that’s a lie - there was Lego. Very cool replication of parts of the city). With only the five-year-old and the one-year-old in tow, it was great to look at donated artefacts of the city’s history, with only the sound of one wolverine trying to chew its own foot off to get out of the stroller, and the ever-present request to know what else there is to see. Because our three-year-old was at Grandma’s and Grandpa’s house today, I thought we may actually get out of the museum without one of the motion-activated noise alarms going off from getting too close to the 100-year-old cars. Alas, a respectful, 65-year-old car enthusiast stood too close, and our oldest went tearing over to see what the alarm was, and got a chance to tell on the perpetrator all the same. A perfect 4 out of 5 stars.
Very interesting place only open to the public on a couple of days a year. Superb collection and helpful staff.a crazy shame that there is so much canadian art "banked" and not on show! get it out there one of our canadian billlionaires and leave a legacy to build this bank a space to preserve. you know you are out there, just takes one real canadian billionaire with a true connection to painting/ the arts to get this done. not easy to do , i'm sure , but my god , what a legacy that would be.

This museum provides a fascinating history to the people's and the discovery of Vancouver and Canada from a maritime perspectice. One special feature is that it houses the complete RCMP St. Roch vessel which was the first schooner to circumnavigate North America and second ship to go through the important Northwest Passage (it can be boarded and explored). The guided tours are especially informative. It is easy to spend half a day here. Onsite small pay parking lot.
