Teachers are racist

A very educational place for teenagers.

Une école et son personnel mérite une belle notes de 0

I went to port credit from 2012-2015. I can start off by saying Paris Vassel is the most racist person along with paul walter . my issue in port credit wasn't being bullied by the students it was by the teachers and the principles . Complelety racist towards any arab person. They used to harrass my mother who had cancer and say im skipping and doing bad stuff when im walking back to from lunch 5 mins late.. this school was a terrible experience and a letdown and never helped me find my dreams. I found my path on my own and finished high school. 3 years later, my sole purpose of leaving was the harrsment i would get from all the school staff. Theres multiple occasions where me and a white friend would be late or skipping, and only i would get marked for it ... the list goes on ..... this school gave me mental issues and made me believe i was insignificant to the world. The best thing i ever did was leave this school... i have to give credit where its due. Mr grant Mr Sankowski - Mr Celemente - MS Bros -ms hogan -ms gill ms davis. Ms kalwaney might have missed 1 or 2 but thank you for the only good memories i had in this racist unprofessional school . I truly thank you...
ANY Parents Reading this i wish the best for you're children and i sure hope nobody goes thru what me and a couple other people went thru.

It is very fancy but it is also very expensive, the students where very sexist and treated the girls like trash

Very rude over the phone; Just answer her what she asked. She will never reply to your email for admission/registration of new students.

École affeeusement ideuse avec peu de choix de programes donc a part si vous voulez être en regulier il n'y a pas de raison d'aller a cette horrible école

its so bad like most fraudluant school ever

good experience despite the whimsical nature of a student named lila allen

I am currently in Grade 12, and I wanted to share my experiences at this school. My time in Grades 9 and 10 was great; I had relatable teachers who were passionate about teaching. Grade 11 had its ups and downs, but I still encountered some dedicated educators.
However, Grade 12 has been a challenge. For the first three weeks, two of my three classes had no assigned teacher. We'd be given worksheets with nothing else in regard for those three weeks in my first period class.
Another concern is the school's air conditioning system, which seems to have limited functionality. Given the extreme temperatures in Ontario, it would be helpful if more resources were allocated to ensure a comfortable learning environment.
Lastly, the student parking situation can be frustrating. Many parents use multiple lanes to drop off their students, causing delays for those trying to park. A simple solution could be hiring a traffic control person to direct parents to the designated drop-off lane.
I believe that addressing these issues could significantly improve the overall school experience for students. I hope that my feedback can contribute to positive changes at our school.

Nice teachers and students! Also love the number of activities.

If you are not a native white, stay away from Giffen, Amelio, Rotenbeak and Stephen Walky Talky.

I absolutely love my gym teacher! He is incredibly knowledgeable, motivating, and always make our workouts fun and challenging. They truly care about our fitness journey and are a fantastic source of support and guidance. Highly recommend!

this school is horrible my child comes home and says he wants to never go to school because the teacher disrespect him so much call him so many racist names that he cry's for hours at a time and starts at the sealing and he holds back what on his mind and when you ask him how hes doing he says hes not fine

Worst school ever, most teachers are good but vices are trash

Racist.

a buddy of mine is going to it :D they have now resorted to stabbing their hands with pencils :D

Bro there is a child that keeps on touching me 😭😭😭😭😭😭

Good teachers and education. Overall a good school. Just stay away from the geo hall and drama hall bathrooms at all times lmao.

I had to say something that I noticed recently with some friends but we got scared because someone in the administration warned one of our colleagues to keep quiet because he had seen inappropriate things happening. Me and a few colleagues had to go to the student services department to get support during our tests. During our work there Mrs Borshiov was okay in the beginning but on a few occasions she made fun of my friend with her protruding eyes and a sarcastic smile. Once she'd finished talking to our colleague, she would then laugh and whisper to Mr Timmerman and Mr Smiley. When she sensed that me and my girlfriend had seen her mocking reaction to Smiley and Timmerman, she walked out of the classroom to discuss her reaction in the hallway.. I would like to say to these teachers that we are not less smarter even if we have an individual plan or struggle in our lives for special circumstances.

The building and facilities are old. Compared to other high schools in York region, bayview looks more like an old correctional center because it’s crowded inside and the interior looks somewhat depressing imo. I highly doubt that the school is underfunded. And for some reasons, the vibe here is not as lively as what I expected from a canadian high school. However the education in bayview is great. Guidance and the teachers are professional especially the ones from math and science departments. There are some other classes that I would not recommend but I don’t want to name any specific ones. I would say I am satisfied with the experience as I met a lot of friends and enjoy my high school years. Overall I mma give it a 7.5/10.

I used to be a student of this school
Spent three years here
Had some good experiences but also had some terrible experiences
While I don’t recommend anyone to attend to this school, hey it’s up to you to choose

My daughter has this vice principal Paul Ruytenbeek who speaks to her charmingly & frequently. Lately he's been mentioning to her that he lost his young daughter a few years ago and that she looks like his daughter Emily Christa. He keeps looking at her in a very intimidating way, especially when she's wearing a half-bellied blouse. He is grooming her inappropriately. Please be cautious when your daughters go speak to him. I am going to complain to the OCT and if other parents feel the same. do not hesitate to do the same.

Debbie keeps forging ESL funds' paperwork claiming her students are such number while the real number is much less and the funds' gap goes into the school's account. She did that in her previous school and is still doing it at the current school. Drastic unprofessionalism.

Trying to be as objective as I can in this review. I think Bayview is a decent school for a high schooler to attend. Yes, the school is cramped during the busiest times and yes, the school is relatively old. But a majority of the teachers through my 4 years here have been nice and good at teaching. Some were not of course, and some most definitely don't care about teaching and actually having their students learn, but most were Very helpful and nice people. The tech teachers are mostly experienced and skilled but clearly don't care much about student's learning. Some other teachers just don't care about teaching and recite off a powerpoint.
This school doesn't have much of a problem with bullying in my experience, since if it did, I'd probably be a victim of it, but alas, I wasn't bullied very much, if you can even call it bullying. There are some rude and bully-like kids here, like literally every single school since they're literally children, but I can't recall any instance where children actually fought seriously or were seriously bullied.
And yeah, they really shouldn't have spent money on a bunch of TVs when they could've improved so many more important factors instead of buying useless TVs that are sometimes broken and provide no useful information and is way too small to be read even by someone with 20-20 vision. Like, do you really need to show the weather when eveyone's got a phone in their pocket these days?
If I were less introverted in my high school years, I bet I'd have quite enjoyed the experience. The positive relationships I made in the school were nice and the negative ones weren't Too negative.

The reviews about the truth are aggressively deleted by the LCC IT team.

So I am coming here this year in September so yeah 5 stars!

Overrated school
Seems fine at first but its garbage
Staff is not that helpful and the kids have no respect for other

theres no locks in the stalls in the girls washroom theres no tampons or pads in the dispensers in the washroom and they do not fill the soap up and there is teacher and principals in the washrooms 24/7 meanwhile theres already no privacy with no locks on the doors

Jamais on oublie ce que ma fille a vécu de discrimination, racisme, violence…. De la part de la direction et surtout la directrice adjointe de secondaire 2 heureusement maintenant ma fille a changé l’école et on ai surpris des bonnes notes cette année

the principal and vp here at port credit doesn’t care about the kids. they are a mess and don’t know how to their jobs right. they are racist too. they need to replace them. please do!

Good school with a good learning environment. The teachers (maybe except one gym teacher) and the students are good. Most people who go to this high school usually get into good programs and become successful.

This is the worst school that could ever exist there is bugs in your food and the ‘Food ‘ is made with there bear hands the staff is very mean at poor kids. And all is bad in this school. And I gave 1 star because you have to give at least one to post but this school is not recommended I would give it 0 stars if I could

École secondaire qui passe 7 fois dans le journal en 1 an… quand le surveillant vapote avec les élèves ça fait dure

When I came to Kells 3 years ago, I was a depressed and extremely insecure boy because of the constant bullying I had from my previous school. Fortunately, I switched schools and ended up here. At Kells, I realized that I was more than what I thought I was. I felt more than just being a living punching bag that would get physically and psychologically harassed just because I was a bookworm. I felt like an actual living breathing human. The teachers were fair and definitely not the type who would increase or decrease your child's grade because of favoritism.
During my time there, my grades were higher than ever. I was in the honour rolls for the first time (First Honours) which is something I would never get in my previous school. It was surreal how I became an average student to being one of the best in my class.
Next month, I am going to study Health Science at a prestigious cegep.

Excellent school with 1-excellent teachers 2-best Scitech program 3- best guidance 4- they offer AP exams 5- student web is so helpful

Dinosaurs are quite friendly and harmless 😎 also dino's better than cats

Some teachers just want to hinder you so you can fail an important graduation requirement.
EDIT: Witnessed the school has bullying problems all throughout the 2022-2023 year and punishes the ones who attempt to fight back. These teachers are actually insane and should be put in a psych ward.

Ms. Hawthorne and Ms. Wollaston were absolutely fantastic to work with on a moments notice. The opportunity to speak briefly with them and offer guidance to my Daughter may very well have deeply improved her final highschool years. Thank you and have a good week.

very guud school, would recommend for young black students

If you are a parent thinking of sending your student to this school I am begging you to NOT as someone who has spent 4 years here. The school is run-down, disgusting, and barely cleaned. The cafeteria and classrooms are crowded and filthy and the floors are covered in a perpetual grime. There is no AC. There is nowhere accessible to sit or do work outside of the classrooms. The layout is terrible and you will have to deal with 1500+ students trying to cram through one hallway intersection because of it. The school decided to spend money on fancy new TVs instead of actual necessities such as buying new microwaves to fix the broken ones in the cafeteria, which objectively more students use. The atmosphere is incredibly depressing due to both student attitude & the old building and your child will most likely never have a proper high school experience if that’s something they care about. The only upside is the teachers and proximity to restaurants/grocery, but you will find good teachers almost anywhere else as well. It’s not worth moving here to attend, even for IB especially since many YRDSB schools have IB now.

Its a good school with good teachers like Chalmers and Hubbard and Millar but there is one teacher I have rn names Verghis, she is my math teacher and she doesn't teach very well she also isnt the nicest, she once yelled at my class bc she didn't know how to use her projector and thought the class made it happen. She also isn't the best grader, i got all b+ and a- and she gave me all S's even tho i always participate, she is not the best teacher and i feel bad for anyone else who has or gets her.

School is well located on a calm place surrounded with traditional residents and greenery’s.

Attended late 60's and early 70's. It looks like it has modernized quite a bit since then. Such as being co-ed. When I was there some senior teachers still wore robes on occasion. They used corporal punishment too. Certainly better than the public school alternatives back then. You get what you pay for. I have a master's degree from Harvard University and am close to retiring from a teaching career in South Florida..

Teachers are very understanding, and really make you actually learn more than just primary subjects, such as: discipline, consquences, etc. Something I find distasteful is how it tends to force certain ideologies on to students, rather than letting them figure it out themselves; I believe politics has no place in public schools.

Amazing school with top-notch facilities, a wonderful staff and students who are polite, friendly and caring. My kids would have loved it there, as would I, had it been a co-ed school when I was that age.

Did not have the best memories here. During my time there were few teachers I liked and much of the curriculum and teaching methods were outdated.
Hope they made a lot of improvements since then.
Hope they made a lot of improvements since then.

As an alumnus of the school I can say that my school years there were one of the two greatest formative influences on the man I am today. If you believe you cannot afford to send your son, apply anyways, as the school maintains a generous bursary programme.

Bad school don't go.

Thanks to Kells Academy Highschool that helped my son completely success. Most of teachers are very nice and patience. My son is continuing to study there until he finishes his high school.

No. Made someone cry so hard they vomited. Terrible. Disgusting building design, looks like a mental asylum. Bad guidance counsellor, thinks they can “fix” people but just makes it worse. No you can’t. No. :)

This school showed the reality of what bullying is like in high school in 1999. I do not know how it is like now, but back then it wasn’t a welcoming school, even the staff wasn’t helpful as it should be for newcomers.

I wholeheartedly give Kells Academy 5 stars! My son, who graduated in June, attended Kells from grades 9-11, and my daughter is now in Middle School in grade 8. I am happy to say that both have excelled in all areas of school life since joining Kells, which is why I highly recommend the Elementary, Middle School and High School. I first visited Kells Academy a few years ago when I was searching for prospective schools for my children. I immediately sensed that Kells was the right place for my kids. Its small and intimate setting is highly conducive to learning. I was very impressed with the great quality and experience of teachers and loved the warm and nurturing atmosphere of the school. Those initial feelings have only grown stronger over the years. The truest testament being that my kids absolutely love Kells and look forward to going to school every day (which is not an easy feat for a school to accomplish!) Marla Pearlman is a wonderful Principle at the Elementary School. She is always super encouraging and highly supportive of her students. Neil Banerjee is an outstanding Principle. He is involved in every aspect of the High School, knows his students inside out and manages to find the right balance between being tough and no-nonsense, and caring and supportive at the same time. His time and dedication are truly exemplary, and I have personally appreciated all the time he has given me whenever I have asked to meet with him. I also admire the fact that Kells Academy, under the guidance of Director and Founder Irene Woods, continues to actively seek new pathways to grow, flourish and excel. I couldn’t recommend Kells Academy enough to parents who are searching for high quality education in a small, warm, unique and highly supportive environment for their children!

To say that this high school exceeds expectations feels like an understatement. Kells keeps surprising us when we least expect. This is our third year with Kells, but we were impressed from the very first day. The connection was immediate. We felt like everyone at Kells already knew our children before. It's a very rare feeling. And it was a good sign of things to come. The principal and all the personnel are always nice and friendly. How they know each student in great detail amazes me. The teachers are outstanding. They have high standards and high expectations, and their innovative methods of teaching are extremely effective. And they do care about each child individually, like a good uncle or aunt. And kids love them. When your children keep praising their teachers, regardless of the grades, it means a lot. The school has a ton of extracurricular activities. We were blown away by the Kells musical at the end of the school year. Like a WOW! :) Our youngest child will start Kells High School next year, and we couldn't be more grateful. Our family feels blessed that we have Kells in our lives. We highly recommend Kells to all the parents who are looking for an amazing school that their kids will love, and for an absolute peace of mind that their teachers and staff will provide.

My husband & I give 5 stars to Kells & we'd give more if we had that option. Our nephew attends the high school and we have been consistently impressed with the principal, the faculty and the culture. The teachers are amazing with the students. Their focus on each student so as to ensure his or her success, how they deal with any challenges a student may have, and their overall compassion and kindness, makes Kells one incredible school. As for the principal, Mr. Banerjee has his finger on the pulse of the school and the students. It is most impressive to see how he knows what makes his students tick and his genuine encouragement of each of them. Probably most telling is the respect the students have for Mr. Banerjee and their teachers. If you are at the school, you can feel the extremely positive vibe. The curriculum is excellent and we encourage any parent who is seeking a positive, warm, success-oriented and strong curriculum to consider Kells. The same can be said of their sports teams and clubs. They are conducted in the best of ways. In short, we will always be incredibly grateful to Ms. Woods for her wonderful school.

My kids (grade 3 and grade 9) started school this year at Kells academy and I was really impressed from the academic level.
Very professional , high academic level , high knowledge and very user friendly applications for parents. The school made a full presentation showing the possible roadmap of our kids so we have a clear picture from begining.
This success is really on all levels specially the principals Special thanks for the Super Team with Principals Mr. Neil and Ms. Pearlman , staff and teachers whom i really appreciate for all the support provided for our kids.
Thanks Again

nobody ever answer the phone call

Great school with a wide range of options for learning plus the implementation of an IB programme. Cradle to grave support of the Old Boys network.

LCC not only offers a variety of sport options, but a great environment to learn and grow as a student. There are numerous academic activities and clubs to join, which are superior to other schools. An example of this is the Fab Lab design studio, where you can sew, access machinery and 3D print designs.
I’ve been at this school since Kindergarten and I have no complaints. I’ve had such a good experience not only with the academics, but with the students and staff as well.

The robotics team is amazing. Go LA Tech 4955!

I went to this school when it was called Lasalle Catholic Comprehensive High School. If you weren't around in the 80's you've missed out! Anyone with 86/87 yearbook contact me.

The reviews are hilarious- as they are mostly based on the great facilities. This is a school that looks to nurture leadership and problem solving. It's a worthy investment for parents who see the value of an LCC education.

I had a good experience there overall during my time, teachers can be hit or miss on their level of engagement and caring, course content at times was fairly dated.
I've heard they've madr a lot of improvements since the time I left in 2004, a lot of tech included in courses and classrooms, a wider variety of courses for each grade.
My only concern is a lack of safety as there was only ever one guard or monitor, and with the forced inclusion of Allion they should have a bigger security staff. But times have changed, I may be wrong now.

I am now a student at this school. It is a good school for international students. The people are very friendly and kind. I have felt welcome in this school since I first arrived 3 years ago. I also live in the school residence. It has a good location and it is a great way to get to know other students, especially since we are alone and far from our countries. I have really enjoyed my time here. The teachers and students are great and it is probably the best part of my life!

Excellent school for boys. Run with care and compassion combined with discipline and respect. Gives opportunities to all boys even those less academically gifted like mine...so long as he is doing his best they are there to support him. Incredible to find a progressive and modern school where our boys can be surrounded by like-minded individuals and their families who still maintain fundamental core values. Welcoming community of parents. Can't say enough good about them. Pity that there are not more schools like Loyola.

Definitely not worth the money. Does not even offer bilingual education to international students. NOT an international school.

as a college student. I wish i never attended this school. did not feel like it was educating, just funzies, most teachers do not even give out homework. ALL Students are treaTED THE SAME WAY AS THE KIDS WHO HAVE ADHD, OR OTHER DISABILITIES. does not prepare you well enough for cegept

I love the teachers here at PCSS! The school fosters an environment for learning and provides a lot of opportunities for students to succeed. However, I am incensed with the attitude and behaviour of the administrative staff of PCSS (especially, the Caucasian, blonde lady with a short boyish haircut - I do not know her name unfortunately). She is racist and doesn't know to treat visitors with respect. She lacks interpersonal and customer service skills. I was not pleased with her body language and the tone of her voice. As an alumnus, I came to school to visit my teachers. I was not impressed when she just assumed that I was "loafing around" in the hallways. Perhaps, she made this assumption based on the colour of my skin. Such inappropriate behaviour is not acceptable. Please treat people the way you want to be treated.

You have something bad to say about this school you never went or you did it the wrong way. You want a good high school life that requires having fun a lot and meeting amazing people go here. Drama is for the birds.

Not everything is what it seems, keep that in mind.

Great high school and staff!

Loyola calls itself a Christian school yet every year, it kicks out young teenagers who do not live up to a certain standard. An adolescent deserves patience, love and guidance especially if he is having a hard time---not a kick in the teeth. Loyola loves its flashy help the poor and save our planet projects (the ones that the boys can later put on their resumes) but it lacks in basic compassion toward its own students. They are Elitists with a catchy but meaningless "man for others" slogan. I recommend you send your son elsewhere.

Yes, its very beautiful and easy to locate at. I like the campus of Loyola High school.
I love the place its great school, I read the information and photos.
I am very interested to improve the career I am dreaming and continue my study, graduate and have a lot of experience, abilities and opportunity to use my skills in future life.
Thank you Loyola High School for seeing the place to work and study.
You have a nice day and "God Bless"!

Wow !

I visited this place to sing for a concert with the boys. It was clean, modern looking, and spacious. Perfect learning atmosphere (although I've never attended this school)

Great school with excellent and competent staff. IB program available; many clubs, sports teams and other activities.

LCC is a challenging, engaging and inspiring school. The school has taken pride in their beautiful campus and facilities with long lasting tradition. My kids love it!

From an alumni I am sad to see what this once great school has become, the condition of the school has deteriorated noticably, but in general the staff itself does the best with what they have, fees are outlandish for what is a public school.

All three of my sons had a fabulous Loyola experience. They are all 'men for others' and have bright futures ahead of them thanks to Loyola H.S.

I love this school. The teachers are knowledgeable and staffs are very friendly and helpful. You hardly experience this in a public school. They charge $850 per course ($50 discount per extra course) which is reasonable compared with most private schools. I was introduced to them by two of my friends who are now studying at UofT and Waterloo. They said universities accept FutureSkills’ marks without deductions because they don’t inflate marks like cheap private schools. I would recommend them.
