The lady at the top is very rude!
There is no seats for old people and even she is the only one who is sitting at the top and my legs are uncomfortable so I sat a little bit and she came to me and say "get up". Very rude
And funny because she is OKAY to sit herself
Except her, the view was very nice!
What a rude lady at the top!!!

"The Church of Our Lady", "Frauenkirche", (named after the Mary, honored as the mother of Jesus). "Munich Cathedral" is a Gothic church built from 1468 onward and stands tall with it's two distinctive towers with domes right at the city center. Peaceful, amazing architecture, very high ceilings, stained glass windows. The domes are similar to the dome on the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem.
There is a resemblance of a footstep as you enter the church. There are multiple legends about this footstep, it's believed to be of an angry devil who was disappointed by the construction of the church or being tricked to construction of the windowless church, one can read these legends elsewhere.
Next time, would love to go to the top and see the city.

This is a very nice place if you’re interested in seeing Munich from above. You can visit the South Tower. First you have to climb almost 100 steps on a circular stair and after that there’s another climb with an elevator. From above, there are several windows around the tower. Some of them have an interactive map in front of them, allowing you to find main sightseeings. The church itself is quite interesting. There’s a legend about the devil’s foot. Right after entrance, there is a footprint in the marble. The legend says that when this cathedral was built, there was made a deal with the devil. He agreed with the construction only if the cathedral would have been made without windows. People agreed, but still build some windows, somehow behind columns. When the devil found out he became so angry that stubbed his foot on the ground

Amazing place with a very very good veiw , with a very big park in front of it and the river beside it. There is a beautiful structures , too many people are there. You should go on the weekend. You can enter the cathedral by buying a ticket then enter and go upstairs and see all the city from above.
Absolutely stunning cathedral, along with an amazing and historic Christmas market right outside. 100% worth seeing! The inside of the cathedral is jam packed with intriguing designs all over.

I love historical buildings. When I travel even it is so touristy I love seeing and photographing architectural gems.

This cathedral is so beautiful and awe inspiring.

It is a must see and visit.
Another beautifully architured Cathedral. So much history . And if you are fit enough, you could climb the dome and get a view from up there. A very solemn place of meditation and you be able so see many crypts within the dome itself. 👍👍👍

Sehr gut gemacht!

Amazing Cathedral to see, right in the heart of Cologne. The view is tremendous from all sides on the outside - you'll have no issue spotting the tall spires, and as you close in you'll notice all the magnificent detail in the architecture. You can enter inside (check hours), however, you can't bring in any large bags; and be vigilant of any masses taking place.

Aachen Cathedral is a masterpiece that left me in awe. The intricate architecture and historical significance make it a must-visit. The blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles creates a captivating atmosphere. The cathedral's role in history, housing Charlemagne's Palatine Chapel, adds another layer of fascination. A truly enriching experience for history and architecture enthusiasts

A really fun experience—My favorite part was hiking to the top of the Dome to see the views overlooking the city. I also enjoyed catching the 20-minute midday devotional service, which was unexpected because I didn’t know that was happening, but it was cool to experience! The Cathedral is really beautiful, done in a High Renaissance style, so everything is intricate and ornate. I thought there were audio guides, but the cashier told me there weren’t, which was confusing, based on what other reviewers said. Still, it was great to walk around, take lots of photos, and soak in this historic space.

MASSIVE!! Just so big when you get inside. Of course lots of people taking pictures but you get a great feel for just how a structure this big has been standing for so long. It makes you appreciate the work and time that went into building it starting in 1248 A.D to the 1800s so needless to say took a few years . This is a must stop and see while in Köln.

This cathedral is spectacular and well worth the 10euro entrance fee.
Tickets can be bought on site. We were there in October so it wasn't busy and no wait to get tickets or admitted.
If you are up to it, you can climb the 288 steps to the top observation deck however once you start up, there is no turning back. It is a challenging climb and the final sets of staircases are winding and narrow. Take your time.
Once at the top the views are wonderful.

Amazing construction, the heart of Koln.
It's the most visited attraction of Germany.
You can visit it for free.
If you want to go up in the tower you need to climb 533 stairs and pay 6 euros (adult).
The view is wonderful.
A very beautiful cathedral with breathtaking views. The surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. Although the city is so vibrant and busy you cannot feel this when you are so close to the cathedral where everything is so calm.
Like many cities in Europe, churches feature prominently. Historic churches are common.

Berlin Cathedral has a wonderful external appearance, and the interior does not disappoint.

I am sure that people of Lutheran faith take great pride in their Berlin Cathedral, and so they should.

I was taken by the intricacy of both the outside and inside of the building.

It is worth a half hour or more when visiting Berlin.

Very interesting cathedral. You can walk all the way up and get the 360 view. There are many stairs, it seems endless like my efforts to have a successful gambling session. But eventually the pain and stairs end as I hope for my losing streak.

This has been a beautiful place to see. But the queue was messy, so we recommend to buy the tickets earlier. The price is 10€ per person. The view from upstairs is beautiful, but prepare your legs and lungs, cause the way upstairs is a hard walk. The place is walk distance from the gate, very central.

One of the most beautiful churches in Germany. Fantastic design as well underground with multiple coloured stones. No entry fee to the church, but to the basement.
This is a huge Cathedral which is accessible easily from Heidelberg by car. Rich history originally built in 1030 and rebuilt after fires a number of times. This is the resting place of Emperors and is a Romanesque cathedral example. Not ornate in the Italian or Spanish tradition but vaulting arches and ceilings of huge spans.

€10 entry into the cathedral, and beautiful to see. We also climbed (included with the ticket) the 267 steps to the top of the dome, where you can walk around it outside for 360-degree/panoramic views of Berlin! Highly enjoyable.
Beautiful architectural and religious piece of art. Important to know that this site was the location where German kings used to be crowned. A large part of this cathedral and all surroundings was rebuilt after massive destruction during WW II, so I understand that not much of it remains in original state.

We were at the New Old Town and saw this cathedral from afar and it beckoned us so we made our way to it.

The red stone looks really amazing in the light. We climbed up to the tower, all 350 steps. The way up can be quite narrow at some parts and can get rather claustrophobic. But, the view upstairs is beautiful andworth the climb!

Amazing and breathtaking, a true feat of human engineering. Free entry into cathedral proper, but small fee if you want to climb the tower (~500 steps) or explore the treasury. Main church has plenty to see and its easy to relax and enjoy the organ every so often. Mass is available quite frequently. Such a beautiful and impressive church! Definitely worth a trip to see!

Super! So macht Geschichtsunterricht Spaß!

You have to come and see this remarkable building in person.

It is stunning on so many levels. The architecture, details, history, and scale are just mind blowing.

Don't forget to go in the spire! It is worth the steps, and honestly not that bad. You will need to pay for the spire portion, but do it if you are physically comfortable doing it.

A magnificent, artistic and huge church, definitely worth a visit, don’t forget there is a tower where you can go up to, then you can enjoy a panoramic view over Munich city, you only need to climb for about 70-80 steps, then you can take a lift for like 7 euros or so to reach the top. Unfortunately, they sealed all the windows with glasses, so there will be reflections on your photos, to avoid this, cling your camera to the glasses without any gaps.
This is one of the most beautiful churches in the world. There is an entry ticket of 10 euros and there is also a locker room. You can climb to the top by 273 stairs, the views are stunning from the top. Some portion of the church is still under construction so it was closed.

Church was nice .
Around it was market ,we tried the sausage but to our dismay we met with a very rude German which served us burnt dried sausage.

Essener Münster / Essen Cathedral / Essener Dom is a Roman catholic church, sits right in the crowded downtown.
The Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom, is an architectural marvel that stands proudly along the River Spree. Its grandeur and intricate detailing are truly impressive. The interior is equally stunning, with beautiful mosaics and a magnificent dome offering breathtaking views of the city. Visiting this historic cathedral is a must for anyone exploring Berlin, as it showcases both religious and architectural significance in a captivating way.

At first I was not sure about climbing the steps to the top but I decided to give it a go and I was not disappointed. Looking at the structure of the building, the craftsmanship and the overall impressive height of the building made it a highlight of my trip.

Entry to the cathedral is free, but closes at 1030 for preparation of concert by organ. You can purchase tickets to hear the largest organ in the world be played!

At first sight, I thought this would be just another medieval cathedral. But thanks to the local guide, it was much more. There is a great story about Essen Cathedral being one of the first education institutions for women and about sacred artisan products the "students of Cathedral" made! The cathedral also has a beautiful statue of Our Lady and a great collection of saints' relics (a lot of them being both Orthodox and Catholic saints). All in one, all credit to the local guides who made the visit to the cathedral beautiful and meaningful! Places like this could really be the bridge between the East and the West!
An absolute must if in Frankfurt. The architecture is truly amazing and will leave you open mouthed in awe. It's busy but you can still find a quiet place of contemplation and prayer.

There are numerous beautiful alters, shrines, artworks and more. And the intricate ceilings are fantastic.

It's really easy to find as it towers above old town. So you can't really miss it. Free entry for the main building.

The viewpoint allows you to see the whole city and provides some truly astonishing views. It's only 3 euros to access but be warned there are hundreds of narrow stairs with and it's very difficult to cross paths with someone.

Impressive and minimaliatic cathedral. When you get on top, it is closed with windows, but anyhow worth to go up (with elevator after 90 steps in the start).
The stained-glass windows in this church are very delicate. Several pieces could be completed by different workshops, glaziers, or artists. They differ in their styles of depicting figures and choices of color. The mixture of Gothic and Roman styles seems to be typical in this area and different from the churches in Bavaria. Some of the statues were painted with color and shows an adorable delight of awkwardness, which corresponds to the history that it was built around 13-14th century.

Make the most of your layover by taking an Uber to the old part of town and visiting this spectacular cathedral. Buy a ticket for a couple of euros and go up the tower for a 360 view of the city. (Believe me, if I can do it, you can definitely climb those many many stairs up to the very top) After the climb, it’s time to enter the cathedral. I found it to be the perfect blend of clean lines of the building which highlight the sculptures. Found the atmosphere inside to be peaceful and serene. Don’t miss the hidden chapel behind the quiet room. The small museum in the building is also worth a visit.

My visit to Aachen Cathedral in 2014 was a fascinating journey into the heart of history and art. The cathedral's rich architectural heritage and religious significance left a lasting impression, making it a must-visit destination for history enthusiasts and culture lovers.

The intricate design and craftsmanship of the cathedral's interior were awe-inspiring. The golden mosaics and beautifully adorned chapels showcased the skill of the artisans who created this magnificent place of worship. The Palatine Chapel, in particular, stood out with its unique octagonal shape and exquisite detailing.

The historical importance of Aachen Cathedral as the coronation site of numerous German kings added to its allure. Standing in the same space where centuries of royal history unfolded was a humbling experience that transported me back in time.

The cathedral's surroundings, including the charming Old Town and the nearby Elisenbrunnen, provided an excellent backdrop for exploring the city's cultural offerings.

However, the experience could have been enhanced with more detailed information provided at various points within the cathedral. While the architecture spoke volumes, additional signage or guided tours would have provided deeper insights into its historical and religious significance.

Overall, Aachen Cathedral is a treasure trove of art, history, and spirituality that should not be missed. Despite the minor lack of information, the beauty and cultural value of this UNESCO World Heritage Site make it a compelling destination for anyone with an appreciation for the past and the wonders of architectural excellence.

Like most church buildings in Bavaria, & Austria, it is crammed with frescos and gilded statues in a lavishly decorated manner; no expense spared. It was a short walk from Danube mooring, but as it was 36c we didn't venture any further. There's a large square in front of the cathedral which is used as a car park. Wheelchair friendly. Free entry.
Beautiful baroque ornamentation.

Frauenkirche, also known as the Cathedral of Our Dear Lady, is an architectural masterpiece that proudly stands in the heart of Munich, Germany. This iconic landmark is not only a religious symbol but also a testament to the city's rich history and cultural heritage.

The twin towers of Frauenkirche dominate the Munich skyline, making it a recognizable and cherished sight for both locals and visitors. Its Gothic architecture, characterized by tall pointed arches and intricate details, exudes a sense of grandeur and timelessness.

Nice church. But if you plan to visit here for a panoramic view from the tower, at 7.5 EUR you are up for disappointment. Not the best and it is enclosed. Go to the Alter Peter instead and you get to see the beautiful view of the Marktplatz
Very beautiful church, about 1000 years old. Dedicated to Holy Mary.
Such a historical place, where over 30 kings were crowned.
I loved the whole feeling of the temple and the architecture and the decoration of the cathedral.
Located in the center of Aachen.
Totally worth paying a visit
The church is a magnificent example of art and architecture. Beautiful art work on the ceilings, and just an amazing piece of architecture. Obviously the renovations at the moment do not do full justice to the building to be appreciated, but notwithstanding, you can clearly get a great sense of the cathedral.

The pipe organ, with its ~17000 pipes, I'm sure is an incredible musical instrument, but the concert we attended, was simply horrid. It sounded like the organist felt obliged to prove there were in fact 17000 pipes. It was a mismash of bits of music, mashed together and some of it was very dark. I personally do not think it showed what a remarkable instrument they have.

If only considering the church, this is a five star place to visit, but the pipe organ pulls it down to only the stars.

A spectacular cathedral, right in downtown and surrounded by some beautiful old buildings. The entrance is free, and the environment inside is darkish and quiet. The glass windows are beautiful, and the shafts of light coming in are amazing. The ceiling has lovely textures, so do look up. It is nice to take a moment to sit and take in the calm. Freiburg Cathedral, since 1200s. Some interesting facts about this masterpiece. It’s actual foundation is based on a church started in 1120s, in line with that in 2020, Freiburg celebrated in 900 years Anniversary. Only Gothic church in Germany dating back to Middle Ages, which survived wars and still smiling.
Out of 16 bells, the oldest dating back to 1258, oldest Angelus bell in Germany. It took 300+ years to realize this dream. The church is surrounded with market on weekdays, called as Münster market which brings local produce for sale. This tradition has been here since Freiburg wrote its name in history. So, a visit to the market is a different vibe. Can you go the church tower. Of course. 300+ steps will take you to the top of church tower base, where you can enjoy panoramic view of Blackforest and the city. Best time is Autumn during sunset. Check closing time before the visit. The church tower Entrance ( Münsterturm) is outside the church on left side.
Wish you beautiful day.
Beautiful place. At 4pm there is a mass in Croatian.

Beautiful church with its 2 distinctive onion dome towers in which you can pay to climb up. Didn’t do it but did explore the church and it was quite beautiful and serene. The artworks and sculptures were splendid and holds a lot of history.
the Freiburg Minster (Freiburger Münster in German) is a famous landmark located in the heart of Freiburg im Breisgau, a city in southwest Germany. The Freiburg Minster is a Gothic-style cathedral that was constructed over several centuries, starting in the 12th century and finally completed in the 16th century. It is known for its stunning architecture, including its tall spire that reaches a height of 116 meters (381 feet), making it one of the tallest church spires in Germany.

The Freiburg Minster is also notable for its beautiful stained-glass windows, which were added during the 14th and 15th centuries and depict various religious scenes. The cathedral is open to visitors, and guided tours are available to help visitors learn more about the history and architecture of the building. Overall, the Freiburg Minster is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in history, architecture, or religious art.

Three dates (c. 1020–1030 beginning of construction, 1061 completed in first form, 1106 completed second final phase of construction after reconstruction began in 1080), three emperors (Conrad II - beginning, Henry III - first phase, Henry IV -final), three fires (1159 the first big fire, 1450 the cathedral was completely burned out, a big fire and the almost complete destruction of the building in 1689), one of the largest buildings of its time, one of the largest Romanesque churches of our time. All this is united by one name, one cathedral on the banks of the Rhine. Planned and fully built before the first crusade, it must have captured the imagination of contemporaries and still captures our imagination. Serves as a tomb for four kings and four emperors, serves as a place for the coronation of kings and emperors.
It's all you, Speyer Cathedral!
There are not many places in the world that have influenced the development of all mankind. And this place is definitely one of them.
The beauty of this Cathedral is breathtaking. All the gorgeous artwork that makes St. Stephan's Cathedral, definitely worth the visit
Hearing the history from the yrs past is so interesting.
My entire group that I was traveling with all agreed they were pleased they took the time to visit.

Impressive architecture and interesting story about it’s construction and relations with the devil itself. We went to visit during church time, so we didn’t explore much inside. It’s worth a quick stop.

Beautiful interior, be sure to view both the small chapel and the main cathedral and go down the stairs to see the crypt

Peaceful and calm place to reflect and offer prayers. The big crucifix outside also feels solemn.

It is easy to find this because it is just in the middle of the busy shopping streets of essen.

There are 5 separate organs to play by one person at the same time. Excellent organ recital at noon and 5 Euro to enter. No recording allowed, but you can buy cd in the end.

Super impressive cathedral in the center of a awesome plaza. Story about the cannon ball still lodged in side of church about 4-5 stories up totally got my interest. Roof tiles/shingles are another amazing thing....have never seen anything like it.

Top and perhaps the only place to see in central Essen. Golden Madonna is magnificent. There are few more pieces of art surviving. Otherwise, the cathedral is quite empty- I guess due to the bombing campaign during Second World War.
