Terrible gym experience all round. Signed up looking for a middle ground gym with some nicer amenities, which they list online and proudly talk about. In reality the sauna has been in the “will be back next week” phase for the last month, the showers are cold, hairdryers don’t work, and the jacuzzi is a lukewarm bath. For the price that you pay you would think some of the amenities would work, but if they didn’t then at least you could get a good workout in. Wrong. The gym itself is actually worse. With one machine/station for each workout you are guaranteed to be waiting. On top of that almost none of the machines are new. It’s almost impossible to get a quick workout in unless you are insanely lucky, and if you aren’t looking for a quick workout you will have to change your plan several times to accommodate there only being one of each machine.
On top of that the management sucks and will blatantly lie to you about the machines or amenities to make a quick buck.
Only decent thing about this gym are the classes, which are well ran and quite intense. But even that doesn’t justify the price you pay.
Simply don’t sign up for this gym. I did and even though I still have a membership I stopped going because of how unpleasant it was. Now just watch as they respond saying thank you for the review but don’t listen to a single word of my review or any other.
On top of that the management sucks and will blatantly lie to you about the machines or amenities to make a quick buck.

I just purchased a 3 months gym membership. I was told during the purchase process this was the cheapest offer they could provide. 3 days later I decided to cancel my membership as the equipment they had in the gym was broken and the showers were always running cold, or just dribbling out water. I also found out there was a 1 month membership option, far cheaper than what I was sold.
After only 3 days of my membership I contacted the gym to cancel my membership, but they "refuse" to give me a refund.
The customer service is also appalling. They just want to take your money!

Strongly advise you NOT to go to this gym. Their contracts are tricky. I purchased 3 months package and later found out that they have charged me for the 4th month. When I reached out to client service asking for a refund, they told me they can’t do anything. Moreover, they will charge me for the 5th month because if I wanted to end the contract I needed to notify them 1 month before! Ridiculous. To remind you: I purchased THREE months package.

The center is fine for my part, it has all the machines and weights I need. I could use longer opening hours (or unmanned hours, I'm used to a 24 hr gym).

Piscina a temperaturas gélidas que hacen impracticable las clases de natación de los más pequeños, con unos responsables poco o nada interesados en buscar una solución. Una vergüenza. No lo recomiendo.
We were in Barcelona for 6 days and wanted to work out during our stay. Found this gym that has a drop in for 7 Euros per person - amazing price! Super simple registration and fantastic gym - has every machine, free weights, cardio machines and stretching area that you could possibly need. Excellent staff too. Make sure you bring a towel though - it is mandatory and if you don’t have one, you can buy one from them for 3 Euros.

The changing rooms lack proper ventilation, making them uncomfortably humid. The gym has been without ventilation for over three months, and the sauna remained non-functional throughout the summer. The class-rooms have slippery floors, hindering correct exercise execution. The showers are difficult to control, providing only cold water.

I would recommend Holmes Place Balmes to anyone in Barcelona looking for a high quality, friendly gym home. The facilities are spacious and practical. It’s a premium feel without being pretentious: everyone here comes to work out and improve themselves, not to be seen or to pose. Unlike other gyms I have used, facilities are never crowded. The equipment provides a perfect balance for those who want to challenge their bodies using technology, and those who want to use their own body as a machine.
If I could take off half a point, it would be because I wish the cafe was back and that the air conditioning was stronger.
I would like to mention VICTOR GOMEZ in particular for being a standout personal trainer and the reason I came to love the gym again after more than a year without guided training. Victor’s expertise, encouragement, and sense of humour have helped me regain my strength, fitness, and form after a long time off. I am so grateful to him for all of his time, support, and skill. You’re the best, Victaaaaahhh!

It's pretty important for me to write this review after being subscribed to this club for more than 4 years. It's a huge shame to see the deterioration of the place, both in terms of the staff - with constant changes and many good employees being fired for no reason - and the facility itself, which is quite outdated and poorly equipped.
After being a member of this club for 4 years, it's disappointing to witness the decline in both staff quality and the condition of the club's facilities. The gym equipment is outdated compared to cheaper gyms with better technology. What's even more concerning is how the director seems more focused on micromanaging employees than maintaining the gym's reputation as a Holmes Place. This is by far the worst Holmes Place experience I've had. What a shame!

Estuve entrenando el box 3 meses con una oferta de verano. La verdad es que mi experiencia allí ha sido increíblemente buena. Los wod bien diseñados, muy variados de una semana a otra, los horarios con buen abanico de opciones, los entrenadores en general muy bien (aunque destacaría a Alberto que sin duda es mi favorito. Se esfuerza por enseñarte todo técnicamente y que intentes hasta donde puedas los movimientos que no te salen). Sin embargo, la sensación final ha sido bastante agridulce… una pena que el trabajo que se realizan dentro del box se haya visto truncado por la gestión administrativa y la falta de comunicación. Yo me apunté al ver una publicidad de instagram con una oferta de verano que incluía Junio, Julio y Agosto por 170€. El sistema de pago es a través de la app, metes la tarjeta y se te realiza el cobro. El problema vino cuando se terminaron los tres meses, ya que estando de vacaciones recibí un cobro en la tarjeta por el mes siguiente. Escribí pensando que debía ser un error y me contestaron que no me iban a devolver el importe porque para darme de baja tengo que avisar con antelación antes de que finalice el mes y que me leyera la política de cancelación. Para empezar, nadie me informó en ningún momento de que esto era un sistema de suscripción. Lo que ellos anunciaban era una oferta de tres meses y eso fue lo que contraté. Si una vez finalizado ese tiempo van a seguir cobrándome y se presupone que yo sigo de alta, lo lógico es que me lo comuniquen y me informen en el proceso en el que me inscribo. Yo sabía perfectamente que finalizados los tres meses me iba a ir de vacaciones por lo que no fue una falta de antelación por mi parte, fue un desconocimiento puro de esta información porque nadie me la había transmitido. De hecho, el último día antes de irme me despedí de todos los entrenadores en el box y les dije que tal vez me apuntaría de nuevo en Octubre. Sinceramente, después del buen rato que he pasado en el box se quitan las ganas de ir con esta gestión que deja mucho que desear en cuestión informativa y también posteriormente en la resolución del conflicto, que básicamente fue que no me van a devolver nada del dinero y que el sistema de suscripción funciona así con todo el mundo. Me parece estupendo que funcione así con todos, pero lo lógico es que me comuniquen que es una suscripción y que se me va a a seguir cobrando. Si no fuera por este incidente, a las clases le daría 5 estrellas.

The broken air conditioning since summer and showers' odor need attention. Membership fees are high, and the gym gets crowded quickly, especially during peak hours. Joined for a year. And decided to sign out for many reasins; the security system is very annoying. You need the bracelet and your finger print to get in all different parts of the gym. Showers are old and smell like public swimming pool. Old machines. Always packed. The girls at reception are unfriendly, they barely acknowledge you when you need help. Charge 1€ if you forget your bracelet. I think at this price you can find a better gym.

I am a member of Sant cugat Dir. Since my work is in barcelona I decided to upgrade my membership. I went here to enroll and later the receptionist let me seen the center and I decided to enroll. When I came back to enter she said I am member in Sant Cugat and claret. She said she didn't understand me. There is no sense that she showed me the center and later she will put in me the claret 😔. And later when she called someone to fix and change it. I was overpayment. They speak catalan but I understand it completely. They changed it but she didn't tell me that I have overpayment. I hope someone can take proper action on this! Well bad experience for the first day and the jacuzzi is not working there is no bubbles even though I keep pressing the button 😥.

El mejor gym de Leganés, acogedor y con todas las máquinas que necesitas, la mujer que lleva el gym es encantadora y te ayuda en los ejercicios , y luego si vas con otro acompañante hay una oferta , lo recomiendo! Un gimnasio de toda la vida!
Empecé en mayo y, de verdad, que sólo puedo estar agradecida. Ya no sólo por mi cambio si no por las personas tan lindas con las que he dado, lo hacen todo más fácil, tendrán sus historias como todos y aún así no han faltado ni un gesto amable, una sonrisa, cercanía. Cuando dicen que son una gran familia no se equivocan, porque te hacen sentir así y, en el tema profesional, chapó, de verdad que se lo curran para ir a por tus objetivos...incluso con quejas 😅. Tienen mi confianza 100%.
They advertise one price outside, show you a different price on their price list inside, and then try to charge you an even higher price. It ends up being the same price as a nice gym if you pay for a month, save your money and go somewhere better.

Llevo un mes, gracias a Javi he aprendido a hacer muchos de los ejercicios que hacía mal y he aprendido muchos nuevos, no es el típico gimnasio que te dan una tabla y te ayudan el primer día y luego pasan de todo. Yo estoy muy contento con los resultados obtenidos. Si eres una persona sin mucha experiencia en tema de entrenamientos, este gimnasio va a ser un antes y un después en tus entrenamientos y resultados.
I love how affordable the price is as compared to other gyms in Barcelona, there are different training equipments from cardio to body-mass &gain, or any other necessary kind.

Nice cosy gym with very friendly staff. This one is often frequented by expats so it's a nice environment overall if you're anxious about your poor Spanish skills. Towels and lockers are available for rent. They also have most of the accessories (including waist belts), but it is a good idea to bring your own if you want to avoid a hit-n-miss.

Desde el momento 0, los entrenadores crean una conexión contigo increíble, te sientes arropado y cómodo desde el primer día, al igual que el resto de compañeros, ya que nos ayudamos unos a otros.
Se paran mucho en explicar las cosas y te corrigen, y si no te sale algo, te ayudan y animan hasta que te salga.
Y he de decir que gracias a eses ánimos de “tú puedes, no te limites por culpa de lo que te dice tú cabeza, sí que eres capaz, venga” conseguí tanta confianza en mi misma que hasta me llevo esas palabras fuera del box y soy capaz de superar cosas que antes ni me las planteaba hacer. En ese aspecto se lo agradezco mucho!
En cuanto al ambiente en general, como ya dije, es muy bueno y con mucha variedad de niveles, pero no influye para nada ya que se hace muy buena piña.
Las instalaciones son muy buenas y hay muchísimo material, aunque coincida mucha gente, siempre hay para todos.
También consta de mucha variedad de clases y horarios, por lo que te puedes organizar cualquier día a cualquier hora.
Sin duda este box es un gran acierto!

En 2007, me ayudo, a prepararme, Manuel, un gran entrenador, mejor persona, y en el gimnasio, un ambiente increible, Lo tuve que dejar, por motivos personales , pero el poco tiempo fue una gran experiencia.

An expensive fitness club with outdated equipment and a lack of natural light. The club needs a renovation and equipment update. Good location and friendly staff, however, the current pricing cannot be justified.

Después de recorrerme muchos gimnasios y sin que ninguno me ayudara a encontrar la motivación, Sculpture, sin duda lo ha conseguido.Estoy siendo más constante que nunca . Gracias a los entrenadores que están día tras día ayudándonos y guiándonos. No puedo estar más cómoda!

Llevo tres meses en este gimnasio y de verdad que estoy encantada y ya no lo cambio por nada. He estado en otros antes, pero ninguno como este. Entorno muy familiar! Con respecto a los monitores he de decir que son súper cercanos, amables y muy profesionales. A parte, te ayudan a conseguir los objetivos personales de cada uno y eso fue una de las cosas que más me llamó la atención, pues no teniendo idea como yo, te facilita muchísimo el proceso y ha hecho lo impensable para mi, que no quiera dejarlo. Gracias por todo!!
Magníficas instalaciones, fácil acceso, ambiente agradable y variedad de opciones de entrenamiento para todos los gustos y colores. Juanito es un auténtico crack, te sabe asesorar, se le nota la dilatada experiencia acumulada como entrenador personal, boxeador y osteópata, y encima es un tío que lo flipas de buena gente. Más no se puede pedir.

Instalaciones brutales, mucha variedad y cantidad de material para entrenar. Entrenamientos variados y de máxima exigencia (aunque se ajustan al nivel con el que vengas).

Good price and a fair set of equipment! The gym isn’t very busy in general and it’s always clean. Staff very friendly too.
Probably one of the best boxes I've ever been. Don't matter your capacity, knowledge, mobility issues or CF level, they are going to adapt the training so you get the best intensity without losing quality. On the other side these coaches are just lovely people.
A very warm and welcoming community consisting of the members as well as the staff, people that like to train hard, smart and safe.

Right off the rip, rating as a tourist using this as a temporary gym. It is a cramped gym. They can’t change that unless they move locations, therefore I don’t think it would be fair to assess them on the overall size of the facility. However I do appreciate how much the gym works with the space it has, minus some flaws. There is an acceptable amount of stationary resistance machines. Their quality runs from very nice new to older models that have been taken care of. There’s three cable machines which is above the standard two. Two squat racks, they are way too close to each other though. Two flat benches. In the upstairs they have nice concept 2 rowers.
Negatives: the turf area has potential, however I believe they selected the wrong area to turf. You can’t do a full 20 meter sled or drag and with three people in the current turf area it does get crowded. The squat racks are too close to each other.
Other than those two hang ups this place is an easy recommend if you’re in Barcelona visiting. They sell a lock at the front or you can just use a bicycle lock/ baby lock.
Bring a towel because that’s the Spain standard.

Un lugar genial para entrenar, donde se hace equipo y se respira buen ambiente. Los entrenadores son muy profesionales y te acompañan en tus objetivos y tu progreso sea cual sea tu punto de partida, en especial Eric que me ha ayudado a mejorar desde hace más de 5 años, pasando por diferentes estados de salud, incluyendo un embarazo. Muy recomendable!
Sin duda uno de los mejores boxes de crossfit de Madrid. Por su ambiente, diversidad de clases, material, y en especial los coaches, que te ayudan a mejorar y hacen las clases divertidas y amenas. Empecé a hacer crossfit con ellos hace 3 años y sigo a dia de hoy. Recomendable 100%
A really great gym if you are into fitness. Like-minded people makes training contagious. The location is great if you are visiting from out of town as I was. They have daily, weekly and monthly rates. I found what I needed for my workouts. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. I walked to and from my hotel, so I got right to it!

El box es impresionante, son muy buenas instalaciones, y totalmente nuevas, de los mejores que he visto, a tope de todo, de barras, de pesas, de bicis de ataque, de remo, de lo que quieras tienes, y si te gusta el boxeo te puedes hartar porque tienen todos los juguetes. Soy nuevo en la zona y la verdad que ya tengo sitio donde entrenar. Gracias equipazo!!
buen gimnasio de verdad sin tonterias de cadenas low cost aqui se paga cuando entrenas si un mes no entrenas no te pasan el recibo ni tienes que avisar semanas antes como en los low cost y se entrena con hierros como dios manda pura hipertrofia
Gimnasio que me recomendaron varios compañeros de mi trabajo. (La gran mayoría están en este gimnasio) Trato muy cercano, están muy pendientes de ti siempre. No está masificado y se entrena muy bien. Vale tanto para gente que se inicia en el deporte como para gente con más nivel. Se aparca muy bien y está muy bien situado. Y los entrenadores, tanto Javi cómo Jesús unos máquinas de buena gente y profesionales. Me tendrán que aguantar por mucho tiempo. 😄😄

The mask is mandatory all the time in the room. The machines are well chosen and maintained, the room is not too crowded at peak times. If you are doing bodybuilding there is everything you need to train in good conditions. The gym does have reduced hours on weekends, which reduces the flexibility of my schedule.

Just stopped in on my way to the US and stayed at a hotel nearby. BEST CHOICE EVER! Alberto is an excellent coach and a super friendly person. The rest of the members were very helpful and suppportive. The amount and types of equipment was 100% amazing. If I ever pass through Madrid again and I have at least a few hours to get to their box, I´d do it WIHTOUT A DOUBT. Muchas gracias a ustedes.

I am currently using Urban Sports app (very good). I visited Smartfit at the end of the day last Saturday. The staff was so friendly and helpful, well done! The equipment was great. It was just a bit too chilly downstairs and the changing rooms were very basic. Anyway I enjoyed my workout there, thanks! 😊
Cons: Negligent lack of mirrors in this gym. Zero upstairs and only five small ones downstairs in the free weight room. Practically nowhere to check your form. Dangerous and silly imo. Missing pretty basic equipment like sissy squat, a set of pre-weighted barbells, assisted pull up, and proper decline benches for training abs.
Pros: it’s v-clean, the staff are lovely and friendly, the equipment is well-maintained, there’s a refrigerated water fountain to fill up your water bottle, good A/C, and it’s not super busy.

Mi experiencia en este lugar es la peor, ya han tenido varios escándalos de estafa pero esta después del COVID 19 es la peor. No devuelven el dinero pagado del paquete de 3 meses de gimnasio. Y se escudan diciendo que a ellos no les pagan el erte como autónomos. No podemos reclamar pq ellos no dan factura ni justificante de pago y solo aceptan efectivo(¿por qué será?). Pero bueno que se queden el dinero, espero que otros clientes que hayan tenido la misma experiencia mía no se dejen estafar más. Ya es hora que la justicia tome medidas serias con este centro!!!
many exercise machines are broken, saunas are constantly not working, there is a lot of dirt in the showers. It’s stuffy and the air conditioners look like bulky devices, blocking the passages. They want 100 euros a month for this horror! I've been a member of this sports club for over five years, but I've had enough

Lo recomiendo 100% si estás dispuesto a gastarte un poquito más que en un gimnasio low cost. De la zona es el mejor para mí con diferencia. Ambiente perfecto y muy motivador, máquinas para aburrir y prácticamente nuevas, muy buena iluminación, vestuarios, taquillas, sala para clases variadas y para realizar estiramientos, abs,etc., muy amplio y para mí, lo mejor de todo, la atención y la supervisión, impecables!!! Por si te lo preguntas se paga en efectivo, sin dar cuenta bancaria ni rollos de esos, así que es lo mejor 💯

I've been training in gyms for over 15 years, having played rugby to a semi-pro level and therefore having experienced close to elite level quality gyms and coaches. Singular Crossfit made me fall back in love with training and has taught me so much in the 2 or so months I have been there.
The facilities, equipment and coaches are all first class. Yes, this is not like a normal gym, but then again, Crossfit is not a "normal" sport. Crossfit looks at fitness as a whole, incorporating a variety of training styles to address each component, therefore making you a more rounded performer overall. Perhaps more importantly, Crossfit quickly identifies your weaknesses and gives you the chance to work on improving these so you can't hide from them. The coaches are all extremely knowledgeable, friendly and experienced meaning that they are able to help you identify your weak areas and work on improving them.
If you are serious about wanting to get in shape, improve your lifts, improve your athletic performance, improve your mindset, meet some fantastic people and generally just become a better version of yourself, this is the best investment you can make in Madrid. Thank you to all the coaches, especially Carlos and Aaron, for all your help and support over the last few weeks.

Es un sitio increíble. El trato con los monitores es inmejorable. Este box ha hecho que tenga ganas de ir a entrenar cada dia. Seguid asi.
Con 9 años de experiencia asistiendo a kungfu en este centro, sin duda el lugar más especializado en artes marciales chinas.
