Things have improved here now more immigration booths are open and more staff on duty , it only took around 15 minutes to get out of the port this time as opposed to 3 hrs last year
I love this ride over to the park on the other side. A great day out and picnic for anyone visiting Plymouth. A must even! The boat ride adds something special.
The ferry itself was clean, and the staff are good and helpful. It was my first time to use the ferry and it was a good experience
Excellent view of the Mersey and Liverpool waterfront. Once the ferry terminal is opened again I'm sure it will be buzzing with people again. Although I've added the Liverpool waterfront, it's the view you see from Woodside
Lots of new puzzles and interesting science facts for kids and Big kids as well
Nice little local ferry. Be aware it’s CARD ONLY which isn’t posted anywhere at the dock or on their website. Or at least they weren’t taking cash when I took the trip.

This is NOT a criticism of Brittany ferries. I just want to warn users of the parking at the terminal(owned by Associated British Ports ) that there is no longer 2 hours free parking. Parking Eye have taken it over, it's now £3.30 for 2 hours, there seems to be NO GRACE PERIOD . Be very careful and note your arrival time yourself as its not on their tickets. Just had a fine for a 10 minute overstay. Appealing of course . £60 if paid quickly £100 if not.
Keep evidence of being away too in case you get a notice and you're still away when it gets to you.
Keyboard on the machine is tiny and not qwerty.
Worst thing you need after a long and maybe frustrating drive to the port, is faffing around with these Parking Eye machines.
Really good tour of the Sound and docks highly recommended
Planetarium experience was inspiring and exhibits at centre were good fun for all ages. Went with my boyfriend and had a laugh !
Worth visiting for the beautiful clock. Good ferry service too.

2023 and it’s cash only and no sign saying so that I noticed. If you can’t pay they give you a form to pay on line and charge another £2 for the pleasure.
I went there, kids may love this place.
I watched movie Venom there on biggest screen of IMAX in UK.

Worst ferry disembarkation ever experienced - cars backed up and stuck on ferry whilst customs single file processing vehicles. Really feel like spending another hour sat in the car with no air on the ferry! Port authorities please get your logistics sorted!!! You are delaying disabled people stuck in cars, people with jobs to get to, and delaying a departing ferry.
What a fantastic place very organise very clean people are Very organised beautiful place to spend afternoon

This place is shockingly bad. I have been coming here for 24 years and the service is worse now than ever.
All they have to do is get you on and off a ship and they turn every sailing into a total fiasco.
They do not care how long you have to wait and seem to take great pleasure in making it as long as possible.
What a shame, the complete opposite of the service in Santander.
Welcome home!!
One of our favourite places near Plymouth. Lovely at any time of year but best in summer.

Disgusting treatment from police and border control yesterday. Over 300 bikers kept waiting in the pouring rain for over 2 hours while border control work to go slow. Heavy police presence used to keep control. Over 3 hours from docking to leaving the port. Bloody illegal immigrants get treated better.

Pleasant experience as a foot passenger :-) Fast check in, plenty of space in the lounge, and friendly staff in the cafe which serves hot and cold food.
The ambient TV noise is annoying, and the lounge could do with WiFi while waiting to board.
Travelling without a vehicle is highly recommended!
Great and frequent ferries around Plymouth bay
Perfect for getting to or from the SS Great Britain and a good landing for a full harbour tour on the harbour ferry after exploring the SS Great Britain.

I made the mistake of getting off at z Birkenhead to have a look round. Not much here including people on the day I went. Nice trip across the Mersey though.
Val molt la pena. Imprescindible. Molt ben muntat ple de detalls.
Brilliant and well priced ferry service connecting many parts of Plymouth (Stonehouse, Royal William Yard & Barbican) and Rame peninsula.
Staff all very helpful, especially offering to help with kids and pushchairs.
First time today we used the ferry, and now I have to ask why not before. Realy good, jump on and off £2 each way and approximately 8-10mins. A must for the avid walker or coastal explorer.
Great trip, very rough sea made it fun

No signs visible for CASH ONLY. Once rudely informed by a young man we had to phone and pay.. We were charged DOUBLE!
What kind of business (especially this side of covid) doesn't have easy contactless payment

Miffed
Lovely ferry trip, friendly staff. Reasonable priced also
Staff very friendly. Great little trip to Mount edgcombe. Dog friendly.
Frequent and reliable

Passport control delays excruciating before Brexit, now they're worse
This is where you board your tour boat for your tour around Plymouth Sound & Naval docks. Staff were friendly & the cruise was a nice time spent on the water. 👍
Went here with a friend and her two sons for a 15th birthday treat. The online booking system is a bit clunky and less user friendly than your might expect for such a high profile place, but the prices are reasonable, £47 for a day out for four, with parking included.
Must exhibitions are running, just a few closed off for safety, and there's plenty to keep a couple of teenagers (and adults) happy and engaged for a full day.
We are in the cafe. Needs booking in advance but the food was OK and not overly expensive.

The show in the planetarium was a worthwhile extra at £3pp. An curse to have a comfy sit down and find out a little more about the universe we live in.

All in all a great day out. I'll definitely be recommending it to my friends and colleagues.

Overall, I would recommend

Over the last few weeks I’ve tried all most of the food and drink outlets here. I found the staff at all of them to be very pleasant and helpful.
Lager from the bar was brought to the table promptly and nicely chilled.
Food did take a little longer on occasion but that’s to be expected when they’re busy. Most times the cook-to-order food was delivered just about as quickly as it could be cooked. The pizza in particular was delicious.
Weather-permitting I prefer to use the outside seating.

Had a lovely trip across the Mersey from Woodside Ferry terminal on the MV Royal Iris of the Mersey. There was plenty of seating (both indoor and out) and information provided onboard about the history of the water front was very informative.
Excellent place with many connections to different places from Plymouth. This morning I took little boat to Cawsand bay . Price £5 per one way . It takes around 30 minutes and it is lovely trip especially that I had great weather . The only reason why I give 4 stars is because they are often late during weekends and if your schedule is tight that might be a little problem .
Wow this is very regular connection to Plymouth . The little boat runs every 20 minutes during the day and it is so cute . I love it . You pay £2 per person one way and 10 minutes and you arrive . Very convinient especially if you wanna take the trip for cliff walks . The skipper is very nice !

Closed when we visited on our waterfront walk. Grabbed a few photos of the Lifeboat crew pickup. Great views across a sunny River Mersey to the iconic Liverpool city skyline.
Boarded a harbour cruise, came back to drink coffee & hot chocolate with great icecream desserts at Gertie & Bertie, then bought fresh crab for dinner

Excellent service and helpful staff, a wonderful service, which only takes 5 to 10 minutes to transit from Mount Batten jetty to the Barbican jetty, near to the Pilgrims Steps.
For a one way trip, the cost is £2, its cheaper to buy a book of tickets, if you're going to used the ferry service, a lot during the summer.
Really quick and easy way to get from Plymouth to Mount Edgecumbe. Ferry runs to schedule and is resonable at £2. Staff are friendly and helpful if needed.
Run's quite frequently and only cost £2 per trip. Ideal when the weathers nice to pop over to Cornwall.
Brilliant day out with the family. So much to see and take part in. Food is very nice and reasonably priced. Thoroughly recommended.

I had a nice time in PLymouth. I often used your ferry. Hello to captain :)
I frequently catch this ferry into the city centre, very quick, cheap and reliable
We were both blown away by our time at the SS Great Britain - its a must see place on a visit to Bristol.

The SS Great Britain is a brilliant place to spend a few hours in. Fascinating, interesting and how the whole place is put together, there is something for everyone.

Do visit the dry dock as it helps with the context of Brunel’s brilliance and adds to the enjoyment once your onboard the SS Great Britain.

The Museum that you first enter before visiting the boat has so many layers of detail and ability to engage - it’s the kinda of place you can walk through and get the gist of the boat or spend a lot of time and deep dive. Truly excellent (only the only other place I have seen this done well is the Titanic Museum in Belfast).

On board the SS Great Britain - WOW - it is a small leap of imagination to how life on the boat could be - so so good.

Your ticket allows you to revisit for free for 12 months.
We should have come earlier in the morning. They have 3 levels of learning zone for children to explore about science. This facility is recommended for learning-while-travelling plan. We highly suggest that you booking your ticket prior to coming.

Food here is very affordable with kids meal package.
Free flow coffee and tea for parents.
Excellent day out! Admission prices are a bit on the steep side but its a yearly pass so when put into that perspective it all seems worth it! We went with my grandmother who struggles sometimes to get about so i was slightly concerned she wouldnt be able to get about and have to sit this one out. To my surprise, all of the museum and the boat itself has disabled lifts which made exploring the ship and learning about its passed just that bit easier so thank you to whoever thought that one up! I especially loved dressing up in the period clothing, its a very easy way to get random strangers laugh at you uncontrollably! Loved it and intend to come back very soon to SS GB and bristol very very soon!

Looks really nice, but virtually no staff. 30 mins wait for drinks and 60 mins wait for food. Mad go to the uboat exhibition, much better.
Great ferry service to Mount Edgcumbe from Plymouth with good views passing by Royal William Yard and the marina. Friendly crew and efficient operation with fair pricing. Very happy with every time used this service.
We had a really enjoyable day out here. Lots to see and do and it was all very fun and interactive! Great for young and old alike.
The photo log for a trip from Saltash to Queen Anne's Battery Marina Plymouth to pentilli Castle West Coast of Cornwall on the Tamar River and returning to Saltash over a 3 day period absolutely Breathtaking views of Devon and Cornwall along the journey Incredible feeling of being Alive inside, and so peaceful with only Nature itself
Efficient service, friendly staff. Has a small indoor area for if it's raining, but I just take an umbrella
Expensive for family's. Fuel and wages must have doubled in the last year.

Was a great service until the new ferries were bought in. They have now become extremely unreliable. There is always a problem with one of them. Not good for locals who rely on this service to run on time so they can get to work etc. Lacks visusl communication. It's ok putting stuff on social media but when you are driving you cant see what is happening. Would be helpful if the sign leading to the ferry said what was happening eg: ferries running a shuttle service etc rather than reduced service possible delays. That does not help anyone

Devonport Terminal comprises the traffic lanes on the Devonport side of the ferry.
Traffic is directed into the correct lane by a "traffic light" system operated from the Control Tower. A speaker system is used to advise cars that have entered the wrong lane.
Embarkation is also controlled from the Tower.
One lane is reserved for priority traffic such as buses, ambulances, police cars etc.
Public toilets are available.
There is no departure information. There is a very short ferry which takes you right across the river in about 2 minutes!! Common Bristol, build a bridge!!

A very convenient service which runs frequently and saves 40 minutes and 20 miles versus a return bridge crossing at the same price (£1.50 return for a car). Staff were pleasant enough.

Great for a day time trip. Theres the U-boat museum inside next to the ticket station which is free to enter if you get a return ticket.
Also there is a nice cafe which has an upstairs with views of the Liverpool skyline.
The trip across is really interesting and well worth a go.
Went for the first time today brilliant way of wasting time and the ticket i bought means can go back as many times as i want for a year.
Great location, and great trip here along the harbour. Use the ferry, it's fun and easy.

It's a ferry and is useful if you want to get from Cornwall to England or from England to Cornwall. The alternative is a long drive.
It's a lovely ferry trip. The guys even helped out with pushchairs etc.
