As always, the music at the New Year's Gala was fantastic, but very little atmosphere this year due to moving the event to the afternoon. This was even more apparent from the amount of empty seats at a typically sell-out concert. Many people were disappointed with the atmosphere, but again, the music was fantastic and beautifully played.
Tidy, well kept and reasonable prices on refreshments. The arena itself was grand with its size helping create a brilliant atmosphere when seeing the London orchestra, playing the amazing Lord of The Rings, Harry Potter, Avatar and more. All a good price, would highly recommend.
Outstanding we had a fantastic time here watching the Grinch in concert but please beware when booking a ticket for a event the grand circle is extremely high so people who are scared of heights this is definitely not the place to sit the duty manager Tom who was on that day was great and he was very kind to reseat us as we booked tickets on the grand circle has we have never been here before and it was just to high so thank you very much Tom without you we would of had to go home and miss the show i highly recommend this fantastic venue it was truly an amazing show.

Live music is good but employees serve their friends first (we had been waiting 20 mins and her friend had shouted at her from behind us) and very overpriced. Would avoid at the weekends unless you want to spend a fortune waiting to be served
Went to see the bodyguard. Wow superb. From start to finish, I could watch it all over again.
But I have to say a huge thank you to the theatre staff. Particularly Andy who assisted myself and my daughter from the moment we arrived and then checked on us to make sure all was OK. Thanks Andy you made it even more memorable.

Wow, what a theatre. Great venue, easily accessed, plenty of loos. We were there for Dancing in a Winter Wonderland which was a great show in a superb Venus.

Well what can I say about this beautiful old theatre it's just fantastic we went to see the bodyguard musical on the 11-12-2023 at 7:30pm which I highly recommend people to see especially at the Alexandra theatre everyone involved with the bodyguard musical performance did a brilliant job it really is a top class show that together with this beautiful theatre setting you really are in for a real treat keep up the good work everyone we will definitely be back and to everyone from the bodyguard production it's a fantastic show you all did an amazing job you are all very talented I wish all the staff at the Alexandra and everyone involved with the bodyguard production all the very best for the future thank you all again for a great night.
Went to see the Aussie Pink Floyd. The hall is fantastic with comfortable seating. Parking was good at Q-Park about a ten minute walk away. The staff were generally pleasant except one over officious little security man at the VIP Q&A, which leads me to the not so good. The feed back from the box office about the VIP tickets wasn't good. When we got there none of the security knew anything about the VIP pre-show and sent us to the door for the main show (2 different fellas!) Finally we found the desk hidden away and a lady came over and ushered us in. All in all....a great venue with mostly pleasant staff but get there early and don't expect great communication before the event.

We just had a fantastic night at Bedford street. We hired a globe in the beer garden and it was the perfect venue for my ten mates having a christmas get together. The service of Bud and Niall was awesome and drinks especially the expresso martinis! Band was also v good. Thank you so much Bedford Street Xx
Poor venue. My oldest socks have got less holes than the roof. Place was soaking. 15 minute wait to be served at the bar was far from worth it for a flat coke. Questionable smell about the place too. And to top it off, not the venue's fault, but the Abba tribute only sang 1 christmas song!

Old school feel, 1000 capacity so a good view wherever you stand and good sound, the bar is expensive but the queues are short. Watch live music here and you will enjoy it.

We love this venue. We play here once a month and on a Friday. There hasn't been a quiet night yet and we've played every month if the year.
I have only been once as they hosted The Watch, Milan's finest. I was at front of stage for the whole show & can vouch that the sound was excellent, the audience appreciative, the staff going in and going out very friendly and venue itself was central & easy to get to from stations.
Afternoon centre stage. Fab! Think lunch in Brum followed by a bit of culture at the CBSO. 😊
Good music that's about it. 25 nicker for 3 drinks to get to the toilet you have to walk through the dance floor while it is packed stupid idea

Would not honour 2 for one burgers on Thursday as showing on their current offers page on website. 'Website is under construction' was the answer given. Offer is still showing now, 2 weeks later. So close to calling trading standards over this.

The reception areas with bars outside the levels are nice and work well as buffer areas for people entering and leaving the hall. There are lifts and stairs so accessibility is good and there are toilets at each level and they are clean and well maintained
The staff are helpful, friendly and knowledgeable if they have time to talk about the building and their work there.
I didn't realise that the Hall houses an organ that was being played while people were taking their seats. It was a nice surprise, but I felt the choice of music didn't really demonstrate the full capability of the organ, but music is a very personal thing and this is only my view.
Seating is comfortable for a couple of hours, but the hall was a little too warm for the duration of our visit and lots of people were using their programs as fans - wear layers so you can cool down if necessary.

Audio an intimate venue ideal for getting up close and personal with bands. Bar staff friendly and prices are competitive. Bar is able to take coats in cloakroom behind bar. It’s a surprising venue and I’d definitely come back to a gig here. Easly location to get to, under the bottom end of Central Station, round the corner from McDonalds.
Saw a great band but the drink was pricey
It's a "not bad" place for gigs. Speakers weren't giving a clear sound, vocal- almost impossible to hear. Visuals non existent. No sitting space at all. After the bands finished their performance, the club didn't even turn on the music and encouraged people to spend a few more quid on drinks...
Security LADIES were amazing. They had a zoo to watch and they managed smoothly. I think they shall be allowed to punch the worst one in their face because some guys were extremely imposing. Ladies were still calm and I would even say nice. The level of patience is impressive.

I had a really miserable time at Slay this weekend. I booked accessible seating several months ahead, and when I got there on the night the venue had given no consideration to their disabled patrons by allowing several rows of people to stand in front of the low seating, blocking our view completely. I saw absolutely none of the support band because of this. Having complained to the manager between sets, the venue agreed to have their security remove a single row of people in front of us, which helped a bit... but of a five piece band I could only sort of see two of them.
I really wouldn't recommend this place to any concert goers requiring disability accomodations, because the venue are accessible in name only. You'll get through the door, but once you're in the floor is way too slippy to be safe for stick users, or those with balance problems, and the accessible seating gets you a seat and nothing else. The accessible seating is totally unfit for purpose; and the venue is more than aware of this.

Went in yesterday to ask about amateur orchestras and choirs in Birmingham - Saffron on the desk went above and beyond to find information for me while being super kind and friendly! Will definitely visit again to see a performance!!!
Had a great time at Bongo Bingo last week. They seem to have lots of events on and I was impressed with the actual building itself (actually nice to look at inside). My only criticism really is the bathroom. By the end of the night most of the toilets either didn't have any toilet roll at all or it was soggy from falling on the floor because there weren't any covers on the dispensers.
Really enjoyed the reggae festival I attended here with my sister and friends. Drinks were great and food absolutely excellent. We loved the steel pan band and Mr Bojangles! Thank you for helping me celebrate my birthday in such a lovely atmosphere. The staff were great and couldn't do enough for you. Great time was had by all of us!
Had a really enjoyable evening here, Starving Dogs put on a good show. Reasonably priced drinks and a great crowd.

Fab friendly staff and very decent impressive sound for a small venue. However the whole place is absolutely FILLED with mould and damp. There was nowhere I looked which didn’t have it, ceilings, walls, toilets. The place needs a serious clean and ventilation sorted. Kinda concerned for the poor staff who have to spend extended periods of time there, can’t be good for ya! I love a dingy venue but this wasn’t safe looking.
Went to order 4 drinks and was asked to pay £41 asked for Legal Bar Prize list which couldn't be provided by the manager so we left and won't be going again
2 bars, 1 of which is a bit like a school hall but friendly and well equipped for TV sporting events and a good sized kids playground outside. Food served during the week.

I was very impressed by the quality of performance for children. My daughter enjoyed the show reasonable well, the venue was clean and well maintained, the staff was friendly and helpful.
This is a brilliant venue for going to watch bands. We've seen a few here. The most recent one was Del Amitri and it was great.

A wonderful venue if the music is good. Weather is the problem, but accoustics, facilities and staff could not be better.

Just checking out the theatre where Dirty Dancing is starting Tuesday for the week. Heard some old Dixie in the stalls bar? I’ll include my day In Birmingham. First time I’ve performed here proper. Exquisite buildings and shopping areas here. I love it.
Great Rolling Stones tribute show. Lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. But £ 7.30 for a bottle of beer!? Amazingly, no queues at the bar during the interval. Wonder if they've made the connection...

The price of snacks and drinks isn't cheap but you're in the heart of Birmingham and it's to be expected.
The staff are super friendly and really helpful if you have any questions or needs they'll do as much as they can to help.

Very crowded which spoilt it. Shame there isn't another place in Leam for a late night dance
Great theatre with lovely staff. This was our first visit to The Alexandra and it was wonderful. It's only a short walk from New Street train station so easy to get to. The main box office entrance is just across the road from the rear entrance so make sure you get the right one. It's very nice inside, the seats are comfortable and the sound was great. The stage is a very good size and we had no trouble seeing from our seats in the stalls. The prices at the bar are a little high but the norm for a theatre, and there was a live piano player who was excellent.
We saw "The Ocean at the End of the Lane", based on the Neil Gaiman book, which was the best show we have ever seen. A dark fantasy tale, both scary and emotional with incredible production values. We will definitely be back. Recommended.

We used their function room for a private function and also used the indoor football pitch and their outside area, and children's playground. All fantastic!!

Seen two gigs here- Mayhem and Draconian the sound system was good (sometimes worse sometimes better) .Ventilation could be improved.Toilets were decent. Staff was polite. Bands were amazing.There could maybe be more seats to sit in but overall a good venue

Good, pleasant, authentic venue in Leamington Spa. So privileged to have seen Baobab Orchestra and Pokey Lafarge here.
A great facility, with loads of possibility and options available, but definitely looking it's age, IE: very tired and worn out with decades of bolt ones and bits added over the years, so it's in need of a good spruce up or full revamp so that it can really be the best it can be!
Small venue. Good sized bar. Sound quality is pretty good. Not too bad for price at the bar. Great bands, all done their part in making it a great night. Shores of null Draconian and Swallow the sun. Every one was brilliant

Loved it! To be honest, I didn't know this place was here until a recent hardstyle rave but will definitely be back. Very handy location on the east end of the city centre, staff were all efficient and polite, drinks were priced reasonably and competitively for the area and the venue itself was clean and well presented with an amazing sound system, will definitely keep an eye out for future events here

Lovely venue. Went to see a CBSO Percussion performance. Amazing musicians! Fab cafe too where you can get a cup of tea and home made cake.
Great small performance space for music. There are lots of concerts here of various styles, generally classical and contemporary music. There is a lounge area that does refreshments before/during a concert. Paid for parking is available on the roads outside or nearby, or there is a multi storey on Berkeley St.
We had a drink on a Friday at 6pm. Way too early for the party. I’d have to go back one day at 9pm and see the difference. Good selection Of drinks. Love the decor, especially the trumpet light.
Went to a fireworks display recently and was impressed with the organisation & facilities. Club house was open with a live band & there were ample food & drink options. The grounds are decent & seem well kept. There's also a play park for little kids

Nice and different experience. Try it. It's got nice ambience to it as it's not like a traditional club but still has dance area and a DJ!
Amazing evening at the Bandstand. What a fabulous experience. We saw Belinda Carlisle and were right at the front. The atmosphere was fantastic. So electric and comfortable, even when it started to rain. Downside is that drinks are on the expensive side, but the same at any concert venue. Would be happy to go here and see a brand or artist that I wasn't even a fan of just for the experience again. By far the best concert venue I've been too. Felt very intimate, rather than a big venue where you can't see the stage or watching the artist or band on a screen. Looking forward to seeing more acts here. Highly recommended!
A place with a mixed age group of people, and the music was good and varied. My issue is the V.I.P. area. This should be made clear, so those of us who haven't paid for it aren't insulted by those who are, as I was due to putting an empty glass down in the table there, not knowing I was in it, due to the red bar not being up to let me know it was there, as obviously I found this out after,when a woman in there started giving me some verbal which nearly caused a load of trouble as the guy with her started to look at me after me responding to her. It was first in this place, and I was impressed until this incident, and it just stared why I don't go out much these days due to trouble makers like her / them. My friends calmed me down and I continued with my night until we left 1am Saturday June 11th, a works night out. I hope you read this, to learn from it, Infact I hope she spots this review ;!
The Assembly I believe was once a church & a beautiful stain glass window at the back on the main hall survives.
No problems with getting a good view, & stage has plenty of room for the artist.

Once again the drinks prices are outrageous. A can of Cider & pint of soft drink nearly £11.

Went here for the Winters End gig hosted by Planet Rock. The place is easy to find and near takeaway food. Door security were efficient, friendly and helpful. The bar staff were quick and polite (drinks were expensive, but heyho).
Overall it's a great place, can't wait for next year's winters end!

The look is great, the music is good maybe a bit loud for me but that's just me. The drinks are alright. The only thing that I didn't like as much was the amount of people in there. It was very tight and you couldn't move.
Nice venue and good, huge function room upstairs. Great for big functions. My critisms would be the lack of bar upstairs and the ladies toilets. Can tell they have been revamped but the walls and ceiling are quite bad. I rate it 3.5 stars but google does allow half star rating!
Had an amazing experience at city banqueting from the first consultation to the end of my event. Nicky was exceptional and on hand to answer all my queries as I was quite nervous and hadn’t organized a event before. She put me at ease and guided me every step of the way. Our event was amazing and all the guests thoroughly enjoyed and we had really positive feedback. The food was served hot and tasted lovely - we trusted Nicky and didn’t trial the food and were not disappointed! Thank you so so much once again Nicky! You and your staff were amazing!!
We had a party on the weekend. I dealt with Nicky, from the onset, attention detail was of importance, she was on hand to answer any questions I had (even if they were little late in the day), nothing was too much trouble. The venue in the day exceeded our expectations, she delivered well above what we wanted, her team were amazing, food was hot and nothing was too much trouble. Over the course of sorting out the party, Nicky has become a good friend, all mainly due to her friendly, bubbly personality. Finally a venue and team that I look forward to working with again!!!!
Where do I start!? We had an party for 120 people. This was our first time using this hall but Nicky has been an absolute gem in helping my family plan out our event, from the decor to the food.

Best place in leam. Bouncers are nice and have a laugh with you but say professional and always straight there if anything kicks off(witch hardly never happens) the bar staff are friendly and will help you with what you need and try to be as quick as possible and music for everyone. Would recommend highly

Very lovely place, the manager Nikki was very helpful and friendly... she and her team really gave the best support ever... they were able to manage the large no of pple at the party and still managed to put up a smile... will definitely recommend . And i must say Nikki was very understanding with good response from the start.
As a visitor to Leamington Spa , the venue was easy to find and there were plenty of pubs near by. The venue its self was clean and the views were good . The sound wasn't the best on the occasion I visited but that's not specifically down to the venue. Staff were helpful and service was swift. A nice venue with good staff and a friendly crowd in attendance. Can't ask for more than that.
Manger Nicky was extremely helpful, friendly & professional & went above & beyond her duties. This is the 4th time I have had the opportunity to coordinate with her & her team & each time has been excellent. Even the Owner stayed & assisted myself & my team at the end of yet another successful event. The Bar staff & Security were both welcoming & attentive, So I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I would highly recommend The Banqueting Suite as a viable, cost effective venue choice which comes with a high level of service that is unfortunately very rare within today's society as a whole.
Lovely venue, the presentation and layout was lovely too. The BPD event was so great catching up with friends. The music was great, and the finale even better many thanks for the hard work and effort put in by everyone behind the scenes. Thank you once again x
Could not fault this place at all. Hired the downstairs hall for engagement party. Only 100 people but catering was included to avoid any headaches. Have to say Nicki..or Nicky..was brilliant as were the waiters. Hall was clean and tables and chairs nicely decorated. We had a car park for guests and a space reserved outside the hall for the all important car. Staff even stood near the door to stop annoying lil kids running out. Excellent. Was really impressed and all the guests left singing praises for the place and service provided. Cannot understand the negative reviews, we got a stress free amazing service start to finish. Will definitely consider booking again.
