A really friendly team of swimming instructors, my children love swimming with all the instructors! Great value for money. They’ve progressed really quickly! Helpful and friendly reception staff too
We loved the friendly approach at this pool from a family run business. Our little boy has been coming to baby swim classes since he was 2.5 months old and is just about to turn one. He has no fear of water and we can put that down to the fabulous classes he’s been attending.

I highly recommend this local family run place for children's swimming lessons. The teachers are patient, respectful, and skilled, and the reception staff are both helpful and friendly. I had lessons there when I was a child, and now I’m sending my little girl there 20 yrs on! She’s always so happy when she comes out from her lessons. Thank you all at Shirley pool!!

I would've wanted to try to have swimming lessons here as heard great reviews but was disappointed with the receptionist. She wasn't trying to understand my questions and I felt she was either frustrated or rude. She kept on and on about limited slots and it was only an inquiry about how to book and how many lessons included in the class. It felt embarrassing on how she treated us in front of a large group.
It is perfect but we love going to Pool in the park. It's clean, never too busy it feels uncomfortable. The pool temperature is warm, and the rapids are always fun. I haven't done the slides but there are two. And the changing rooms are always kept tidy clean and I have never had any with broken locks etc
Pool very clean, good for family, changing rooms are very high quality. Food good, and slides average.
Although showing signs of wear the facilities are good. 3 disabled changing rooms with overhead hoist available. All quite clean. Staff helpful.
A big thanks to Karim in the cafe at Pool in the Park - great value non-greasy meals in there - he was an absolute gentleman and my children, hungry after their swim, were very happy. First class customer service!
Friendly reception staff. Great 25m pool with various depths. Can get very busy so definitely worth booking in advance. Shared changing and shower facilities, though one private shower in the toilets.
Both my children have been attending lessons with Gary for around 14 months. My daughter was 10 when she started, was very nervous and unable to swim, now she is just about to get her stage 5. My son was 5 when he stared and couldn’t even put his face in the water, he is now swimming and working towards his stage 2.
Gary has been fantastic with the children, providing just the right amount of encouragement, support and technique training.
The staff that work there are all very approachable and friendly.

Small class sizes, with exceptional teachers. However, not the best swimming pools for the lessons. Kings school, the changing rooms are filthy. Holiday Inn, Eastleigh, the classes are not segregated from other users. However, the kids are thriving and enjoying learning to swim with Wessex swim school.
We have been going to the Penrith leisure centre for a while now. We love it so much. The staff are so friendly. We go swimming 3 times a week. And we also go to the gym too. And I also do some classes to. It's a lovely place to meet people too . You always meet people to talk to in the pool 🏊♂️ we are members now. We are very happy at the leisure centre. Thanks again for your kindness from Hev and Phil 🏊♂️
Did a bubble football event in the sports hall here, both goals were broken and I was told that they didn’t have the appropriate equipment to put out the futsal goals. Staff were extremely rude and not helpful at all, pulling faces about helping and speaking to both me and the client as if we were children. Absolutely do not recommend! If you have got any other options for booking out places for parties or going for any other activity then definitely take them and don’t come here!!
We have just been to our second lesson at fareham swim school with instructor Mia! We cannot recommend them highly enough! We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we walked through the door. Mia is amazing, so good with the babies giving confidence to both me and my baby! Looking forward to seeing Elsie progress!
Before becoming a parent I would have given three or four stars in a review for this leisure centre, but now visiting the place with a different approach as a parent my review is one star. The small pool is freezing, we've been a dozen or so times and within two minutes the kids are freezing and not enjoying it. Today they both had neoprene vests over their swim suits and were still baltic after two mins. It's a 38 mile round trip for us which make this even worse. Better gyms and the council could use the money they're not investing in the keswick pool to maybe bump the temperature up a degree or two in Penrith.
Came back after a very long time, booking online is easy to do. Was able to have a side of the pool near the wall to help with my anxiety which helped my confidence. Some of the older swimmers were a little rude but there were some who helped me feel at ease and asked if i was OK. I waited till my slot time to get in whereas others jumped in as they came, I'm not sure if this is intended but the booking doesn't seem to specify what to do on arrival. Other than that I look forward to coming back again for my x2 weekly swim.
The best. I swim 20 kilometers a month. Its clean and tidy and staff are do kind helpful and friendly. I've been using the swimming pool from when it first opened.
It is a nice pool come here every week on Saturday floor a bit dirty but I don’t blame them 👍🏼
Nathan In the soft play and cafe in Penrith leisure centre is an absolute delight. Such a credit to your company, nothing is ever to much, his can do attitude is outstanding, so happy, welcoming and a Joy to go there with his excellent customer service. 😀

Best swim school we've attended by far. Venue is good. Great pupil to teacher ratio (1 to 5 maximum) and they keep a keen eye on badges and progress to ensure quick, meaningful progression. The kids love it too.
Love this local pool. Lane swimming sessions are excellent and it’s lovely seeing all the babies and young children coming in to have their first experience in the water, learn to swim and improve their ability. The staff are very friendly and the red bus parked outside serves tasty food. Would highly recommend.
The staff are all lovely and so friendly and welcoming. Tara on reception is great. The teachers are brilliant (Ruby, Philo, Babs, and AJ all deserve a mention). My 2yo loves her lessons and her teachers and has improved so much, not only her skills, but her confidence too.
That being said, I deducted one star due to the cleanliness of the baby pool:
• Sometimes the pool is really dirty with sediment accumulated in the corners of the pool.
• Sometimes the water is cloudy with a film of what I can only guess to be skin oils on the surface.
Also, the floor of the ladies' changing room is often flooded and filthy. I wish the staff would periodically squeegee the water into the drains like they do at other swimming pools.
That being said, I deducted one star due to the cleanliness of the baby pool:

Gemma was amazing with my son. For the first time in ages he really looked forward to his lessons. She got to know him and his ability really quickly and built on his skills over a short amount of time. Highly recommend 👌
My 5 year old son attended one lesson at a local leisure centre and it was disastrous. The teacher there paid no attention to him and he didn't even get in the pool. So we made the decision to sign him up for 5 of the 1:1 summer sessions at Fareham Swim School instead. Although he was nervous and apprehensive his teacher Ella was fantastic with him, she maintained the perfect level of firm but fun which was just what he needed and because of this his progress has far exceeded our expectations! Our previously anxious child has grown confidence in the water and also learned new skills too! Lessons are worth every single penny as the level and quality of teaching is far superior. We can't wait for our son to continue doing his regular lessons here. We made the best decision switching to Fareham Swim School!

beautiful place but does not use its potential, it is only for swimming with advance booking, something like a gym, you can't come to swim just like that, there is no beach, only a stone wall to sit on
Been going to this place for years, now i have kids and took them on saturday, booking online.
We arrive and i asked the young life guards what the age restriction is for the water slides for my eldest son 8 then they asked how old my 4 year old is, sometimes us dads forget the year our kids are born easy mistake and because of that they could not trust me and got the manager to the pool and they said i cant go swimming with my kids. I had no way of proving my sons age at this point and travelling far on the train and actually being in our swimming gear with the kids! Ready for some fun i felt i was letting my kids down but another dad with his kids said i can stick with him to even out the ratio allowed us to swim i was really thankful to him for that but ruined the experience because it was strange having to follow another family around as they said if we were to far apart we would be kicked out so during the whole time of following another family around the young life guards were following us around the pool and staring and that was really intimidating.

The team at Fareham Swim School made us feel a part of the family instantly and within 2 lessons our little one has been able to achieve more than the several months at the other school.
The guys are understanding and were able to answer all of our questions and put our minds to rest with any concerns.
I highly recommend these guys, it is well worth learning to swim with Gary, Rachel and team.

I started as a beginner didn't even know how to float. Becky has been wonderful she helped to ease my fear and now I am alot more confident in the water. Now I am looking forward to swimming confidently on my own whilst on holiday in June !!

All staff are approachable, professional, knowledgeable yet personal!
My son (Max) has loved every lesson and truly engaged in learning all the life saving skills and strokes. The biggest plus here is the groups are kept low (which helps massively).
Gary and Dan are the main teachers (in Max's case) who have really developed him and I must say are both on the money where allowing Max to go at his own pace yet certainly encourage/push him where needed!
Each child in my experience here are treated as an individual. Their strengths and areas of improvement are met and all still develope as a team!

Just want to say a massive thank you to the swim school for getting both of my children to where they are with their swimming. Tracy is the best teacher and I couldn’t recommend her enough. Both my children have learnt so much from Tracy & come such a long way since being in her lessons. We’ve had so many comments when out swimming about how nice the technique of both children are and this is thanks to the swim school & particularly Tracy. We will miss this friendly place
I started learning about a month ago and I was terrified of water. Gemma is a fantastic teacher who really helped me get comfortable in the water at my own pace. Gemma is really attentive and motivating in our lessons and I’m glad I invested time and money to try these lessons out. I’ve had 4 lessons so far and through the instructions provided in them and my own time practicing I can finally swim a couple of styles on my own. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
It's a great facility. Too many in the changing rooms sometimes when they combine wet and dry in the evening.
My son swims with Gemma C at the Sutton Coldfield branch, he has come on amazingly and confidently in swimming. She is the most encouraging teacher we’ve had!
Lessons with Katalina are joyous. The icing on the cake is now being able to swim in open water at Dostill Quarry. It is absolutely wonderful! I loved it so much, I went back 3 days later.
Had my first adult swimming lesson with Becky it was fabulous she Was so friendly and made me feel so confident in the water and I felt that I had achieved so much in one lesson I will definitely be booking more! So if your like me and have never learned to swim go to Second Nature Swimming 😄
Don't need to book, clean and dry floors in the changing rooms, and plenty of space in the pool for an early morning swim.

I have been coming to baby and parent lessons since my son was 8 weeks old. He is now 3 and in a teacher led pre-school class. We love it here! The teachers really care about the children and are full of knowledge and information that they pass on to the children and parents. The pool is so warm and it has private changing areas. There is also only 5 children maximum per class and the lessons feel much more personal due to the small numbers. Highly recommend swimming lessons here
Nice soft play area for the little ones the only thing is it's a bit on the small side nevertheless my kids spent over an hour and a half there. They do a really nice hot chocolate but the food menu is a little limited in choice. Food prices are reasonable but I feel as though the cost of entry for a SMALL soft play area isn't good value for money since the larger ones charge around similar price.
