Rented a car and drove around island as a couple. Faliraki was super hot melting pot, so this guesthouse in the mountains was a true gem! Cool air, beautiful living painting panorama view, awesome food and got even a room to stay overnight as we didn't want to go back 😌 we would have loved staying here longer. Mezes, Breakfast and wine was just something wonderful. A must visit place. The room was 11/10, hotel and service all and all top notch. A wholesome experience, highlight of our two weeks vacay. Thank you and best of luck for the future too!

Fantastic views from the top of this ancient castle. The castle itself is in ruins with a small chapel in the middle that is still active. It's only about a five minute walk from the base to the top, but the, stone steps can be a bit slippy.
There can be frequent deliveries of bus loads of visitors but at other times it is really quiet.

The remains of a 15th-century castle built on a cliff with picturesque views of the sea. I would recommend you wear appropriate footwear if you wish to climb to the top as the path is made of loose rocks, polished bolders and fixed stone. From the top, there are impressive views and a lovely place to take in the sunset. Small church at the summit, which is open. Opportunity to light a candle. Ample parking and a nearby cafe selling everything you would expect in addition to some tourist bits.
What a great castle perched on top of a rock which stands 300 feet above the village. It's a moderate climb up some quite slippery steps to the main site. Once there, you're greeted with a ruined 15th century castle and the most amazing views across the Aegean and down to the beach at Fourni. There's also a beautifully restored white chapel within the fort. After your visit, at the bottom of the steps and next to the car park, is a great little cafe sheltered by mature trees. They sell ice creams, drinks as well as local honey.
Not too challenging steps to the castle, although the rocks are slippery in some places. Uneven walking surfaces and Stunning views once you get to the top. Free entry and refreshments available in the car park.
Beautiful settings but very dangerous with century worn rocks everywhere. I broke my leg simply slipping on a rock and tumbling 10 meters to the wall below. The Greek government should erect a safe wooden platform around the perimeter of the Chateau walls to prevent injuries.

Trotz des Feuers im Sommer 2023 immer noch einen Besuch wert. Die Aussicht und das viele Grün sind wunderbar und doch hat es etwas tragisches wenn man sich die Brandschäden anschaut.
Beautiful place for sunset! It is stunning! You can visit for free (at least in October when we went) and enjoy the view or the sunset there. If you are travelling around, I’d definitely recommend.
Tolle Aussicht auf Land und Meer. Unterhalb haben wir einen frischen Orangensaft genossen, den uns ein herzlicher Grieche in einem kleinem Paradies verkauft hat.
It’s not that hard to hike up and it’s so beautiful. Super humbeling view, makes one praise the creator for doing such beautiful things. Lord, you are beautiful. Also the castle in itself is very old and the stones are splattered around but there’s not a corner that’s not beautiful 😍

Die Ruinen der Festung sind weithin sichtbar und können kostenlos besucht werden. Die Festung war der erste Stützpunkt der Johanniter auf Rhodos und wurde von den Osmanen nicht erobert. Leider in nicht so gutem Zustand.
Sehr steiler Zugang. Der Aufstieg sollte ohne festes Schuhwerk nicht gemacht werden. Das Klettern hat sich für die tolle Ausdicht gelohnt. Im Inneren der Festung finden sich Reste von Gebäuden/Räumen. Es lässt sich die Größe der Anlage noch erahnen.
Sehr schöne Ruine die man umsonst besuchen kann. Viele kostenfreie Parkplätze am Fuße der Ruine. Die Ruinenanlage selbst ist durch einen gepflegten Weg vom Parkplatz aus einfach und schnell zu erreichen. Sie ist sehr umfangreich und bietet eine Tolle Aussicht in jede Richtung der Insel.
Den Weitblick von den Burgüberresten ist einen Besuch immer wert. Der Parkplatz ist direkt unter der Burg. Eintritt frei. Jederzeit wieder.
Alte Festungsanlage, leider sehr verfallen und nur noch zu erahnen wie es dort ausgesehen hat. Tolle Aussicht abseits der üblichen Touristenattraktionen. Empfehlung für normales Schuhwerk da gerade am Anfang der Aufstieg über Geröll geht. Die Anlage an sich ist erstaunlich groß. Am besten den Aufgang durch den kurzen Tunnel starten, tolle Aussicht auf den Sonnenaufgang also einfach 15min vorher loslaufen vom kleinen Parkplatz. Man kommt prima mit dem Auto direkt vor die Burg. Der kleine Aufstieg lohnt sich. Man hat einen sehr schönen Blick von hier. Aber hier liegt alles voll mit Ziegenkot. Die verbringen hier anscheinend viel Zeit.
Worth going. Ignore some guides that say a 2km walk is required. You can park very near the castle and then walk over to it and there are about 50 to 60 steps (I guess) to climb to get to it.
I didn't have a drink or rest at the cafe next to where I parked. I went back up the hill to Monolithos and as you start to go down the hill there is a taverna on the right where you can have some refreshment and has great views. I think it calls itself the panoramic taverna.

Ein äußerlich gut erhaltene Ruine, im inneren gibt es wie bei allen an den Küste gelegene Burgruinen eine gute Aussicht. Erhalten ist im Inneren so gut wie gar nichts mehr. Die Fahrt hier hin ist auch nicht so ganz einfach.
Relatively preserved ruins of the fortress of the medieval history of Greece. It's worth going up here on foot, it takes about 10 minutes and there is a beautiful view all around and you can walk along the ruined walls of this fortress.

Relativ gut erhaltene Burg mit wunderschönem Ausblick auf das Meer und die umliegenden Inseln. Der Eintritt ist kostenfrei, Parkplätze unter der Burg sind ebenfalls kostenfrei, gleich daneben gibt es einen größeren Kiosk der Speisen, Getränke und eine Toilette bietet. Wer nicht gut zu Fuß ist, der wird es nicht einfach haben, da viele Treppen zu bewältigen sind und es auch in der Burg auf und ab geht.
Die Burgruine ist schön anzusehen, toller Ausblick über das Tal, der Ort an sich sehr ruhig. Wenn man in der Nähe ist, kann man gern einen kurzen Abstecher dorthin machen. Kostenfreier Zutritt, Parkplatz ebenfalls kostenfrei, allerdings etwas schwierig zu finden.

Eine Burgruine mit schöner Aussicht auf das Meer. Die Anfahrt von Norden auswählen. Von Süden per Google durch den Ort ist eine Sackgasse die nicht mal per Jeep zu befahren ist.
Die Burg kann über die Treppen erreicht werden. Rechts an der Burg vorbei ist eine Sackgasse.
Oben auf dem Turm hat man den besten Blick und er ist ein super Ort für Fotos.

Sehr schöne Ruine. Vor dem Aufstieg kann man sich die Gänge unter der Ruine anschauen, ich habe 2 Zugänge gefunden. Der Aufstieg geht recht schnell, der Ausblick ist phänomenal. Die Ruine ist sehr groß, insgesamt kann man eine Stunde dort verbringen.
Hügel mit Ruine oben nahe Agathi Beach. Der Aufstieg geht mit 5-10 Minuten, je nach Fitness, relativ schnell auch wenn es von unten täuscht. Der Rundumblick von oben ist absolut traumhaft.
Worth the climb up for the view. I don't think you'll see much of historical interest relating to the castle as it's literally a ruin with rocks piled up. Watch your footing on the climb up as the rocks are smooth and loose. There are also lizards and spiders; I saw what looked like a Carolina Wolf spider which was pretty cool.
Absolutely beautiful place! I highly recommend you visit this castle if you hire a car on the island. Easy to get to, plenty of parking & the views are incredible
The place is amazing. Medieval castle high above the see, survived in pretty good shape with breathtaking views of the rocks, see and small hazy islands bellow. You can even see Turkey in the distance pretty clearly. We visited in the late afternoon, towards the evening, but not quiet sunset yet and the light was so beautiful. And all of it is totally free. Also, the access road brings you right to the foot of the castle, so no grueling climb in the heat, just 3 minute walk uphill to the entrance. Enjoy!

Die Ruine als solches ist schön, auch wenn sie leider nicht mehr sehr gut erhalten ist. Der Ausblick ist natürlich super. Wer ein wenig an der Geschichte von Rhodos interessiert, kann sich das sicherlich mal anschauen und kurz verweilen. Festes Schuhwerk ist ratsam.

Kleine Burganlage im Süden von Rhodos. Man kann bis kurz vor die Burg auf einen kleinen Parkplatz fahren. Dann sind es noch ein paar Stufen zur Burg. Sehr schöner Ausblick. Sonst halt viele alte Steine.
Stunning typical white painted church on the hill with beautiful sea views. This really is one of the places you must visit! We have been there in April, there was almost noone, it was very easy to park right under steep stairs to the church. The views from the road are scenic, definitely recommend it! Parking was for free and also no tickets were required.
Great place to visist. You can go there by foot or by car (From Village there is concret road and parking near castle). From this small castle is realy nice view of the surrounding landscape with sea, mountains, rocks and some trees. Castle is small, with some walls, portal, two towers and old tank. Realy nice place to visit and enjoy beatifull view.
It's free, it's easy to get to. Worth a visit!especially at sunset or sunrise. Walk from the little square up or drive all the way up to the base but be aware it is a little scary. Deadly quiet.
Eine atemberaubende Klosterkirche mit Museum. Der Eintritt von 1,50€ ist sehr gerechtfertigt. Man gelangt aber auch hinten herum kostenlos hinein. WC inbegriffen. Die Dame an der Kasse spricht deutsch.
