Panchawati hill is a nice place to visit if you are looking for 40-60 minutes of trail and very beautiful views.
Open parking is available, also one can park their vehicles on roads.
It is never crowded even on the weekends as this area is huge. There are various ways to reach this place and each way has got its own beauty.
The place is surrounded by lot of trees and very peaceful.
There is an abandoned Mine on the top which offers scenic and panaromic views with fresh breeze.
Highly recommended for your dose of nature and physical activity.
If you are lucky you may spot some peacocks on in the jungle.

Powai Lake, nestled in Mumbai's urban landscape, is a tranquil oasis offering respite from the bustling city life. Its picturesque beauty captivates visitors with lush greenery, serene waters, and the harmonious coexistence of nature and modernity. The expansive lake presents opportunities for leisurely strolls along its banks, boating experiences, and moments of relaxation amidst a serene atmosphere. The surrounding area boasts an eclectic mix of restaurants, gardens, and cultural spots, adding to the charm of this scenic destination. However, at times, the lake faces challenges related to pollution, affecting its ecological balance. Despite this, Powai Lake remains a delightful retreat, drawing both locals and tourists seeking solace in its natural splendor.

Puri beach is awesome neat and clean
We visit the bird sanctuary in the last week of November and it’s the starting season of migration. The weather was amazing and we took the private open boat option.

Pricing
Private : 2000 rupees for a family
General : 175 rupees per person

There were not a lot of birds. We saw pelican, Japanese birds and a few other local migratory ones with a lot of crocodiles. Would recommend coming in January for viewing the migratory birds.

Overall a must visit place and had an amazing experience!

Avoid going here after seeing the reviews on Google. It's a lake inside the sngp and entry is restricted for normal people without permission. Forest rangers are always on round up and if caught trespassing six month imprisonment or fine would be charged. The lake is full of 🐊 and leopards are often seen here and lots of snakes in bushes too.
Kindly avoid disturbing the nature
One should go for boating. Here you will get to see wide variety of birds round the year. Crocodiles roaming around freely in the lake. Bats hanging on the trees. We visited in November which happens to be nesting period. We were able to see birds preparing nest.
Very vast area to spend a day. In the beginning of the area you have a mini food court spot.. carry your own water bottle. You can have tower views of the lake and birds in the mangroves.. if lucky you can even see crocodiles. 😅 Floating over the water..
Safe to take kids.
Ideal for family couple or even solo visit.

Calm and peaceful area. Very scenic. Only the downside is that people through garbage in the lake and near the railing. This needs to stop. There's a sign that says that we need to stop throwing garbage. Other than that, this area is perfect for sightseeing and to take selfies.
2 hours drive from ORR in Bangalore, this is an ideal spot for a quick getaway. Ideal time to visit this Bird Sanctuary is Jan - Feb.

One can see a wide variety of migratory birds - Pelicans and Black head Ibis. There are many crocodiles in the lake as well.

Park is ideal for family to stroll through.
My trip through Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary was absolutely fantastic. Witnessing a herd of elephants in their natural habitat was a rare and remarkable sight. The trekking adventure provided an immersive experience that added to the overall charm of the visit. I highly recommend this sanctuary as a must-visit for anyone looking to create lasting memories while journeying through the jungle.
Beautiful bird sanctuary, with amazing parking space, neat and clean gardens, but the best thing is boating service. Visited there in October and is the best time of the year as migrated birds are present which adds to the scenic beauty. Park entry and boating was around ~₹180, and separate for parking as well. There is buggy ride as well and you get enough eateries inside.
I had an amazing experience at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary! The boat ride was a serene journey, surrounded by the enchanting sounds of birds. The peaceful ambiance was truly captivating. Plus, the thrill of spotting crocodiles and alligators added an extra dimension to the visit. It's a must-visit for nature enthusiasts!

Good for trek, but don't have any good visuals as it should be when you trek on a hill. Not much crowded even in the holidays or weekends. It is in between large townships so whenever you are at edge, only thing you can see is bigger and bigger buildings. Which is not expected by an trekker.
It's awesome experience while drive your car here with sharp turn best views of jungle.. Rocks.. Tea garden.. Live water flow

Ms Priya Dharshini gave us a wonderful, informative tour, which I'm sure would be different every day, of the cycle of life as it demonstrates its tuning wheel of colours, events, death and life. A most valuable education in appreciation for all the wonders of creation that surround us.
Fantastic spot for bird watching and a decent boat ride. You can spot crocodiles in the water while the boat is in along with a variety of birds along the way.
The place is well maintained and a good day outing for kids or groups. Not much else to do in terms of activities.
There is a souvenir shop and a small restaurant as well since there is not much else nearby
A great initiative by the BNHS organization. I loved the way they provide guides with real knowledge and who actually belong to the field of science. Carry mosquito repellent with you and make sure to enjoy the sounds of the nature without disturbing the flaura and fauna. They conduct workshops frequently and you can check out their social media pages for the same. An amazing experience and must visit for curious nature enthusiast!

The Lalbagh Botanical Gardens is spread over an area of 240 acres and has more than 1850 species of plants and trees. Set amidst this amazing collection of exotic flora that were brought from as far off places as Iran, Turkey, Mauritius, Africa and Kabul, is the natural lake that presents a breath taking view.
Lalbagh Lake is a spot of splendid beauty located in the heart of the city of Bangalore. The lake is situated at the southern end of the very famous Lalbagh Botanical Gardens that is well known for its exotic flora and is host to the world famous flower show. The lake is spread across an area of about 40 acres and has a maximum depth of 3.5 metres. The lake is a prime attraction for nature lovers as well as tourists. One of the most outstanding features of the Lalbagh Lake is its amazing surroundings. To add to the lake’s beauty there are two picturesque islands in it. It is a sight to behold the water of the lake that reflects the surrounding greenery. The tree lined lake has a well maintained path that runs along its sides. This path is very popular among regular walkers who tread on this route every morning and evening.
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a beautiful and well-maintained sanctuary that is home to a wide variety of birds. The best time to visit is during the monsoons, when the sanctuary is at its most vibrant. There are many different types of birds to see, including pelicans, storks, cormorants, egrets, and herons. You can also see crocodiles sunning themselves on the banks of the river.

The sanctuary is divided into six islets, which can be explored by boat. The boat ride is a great way to get up close to the birds and see them in their natural habitat. There are also several viewing platforms where you can watch the birds without disturbing them.

The sanctuary is well-maintained and clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. If you are a bird-watcher or simply enjoy nature, then Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a must-visit.

Pros:
Wide variety of birds
Beautiful scenery
Well-maintained and clean
Friendly and helpful staff

Cons:
Can be crowded during peak season
Boat ride can be a bit pricey

Overall:
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is a great place to visit for bird-watchers and nature lovers alike. The sanctuary is well-maintained and has a wide variety of birds to see. The boat ride is a great way to get up close to the birds and see them in their natural habitat. I highly recommend visiting Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary if you are in the area.

***Beautiful Beach***.
This beach is less crowded compared to Swargadar beach. Family friendly beach. There are options for horse and camel rides. Hawkers sell many type of food items and coconut. Chairs are available for rent varying from ₹20-40 per person per hour. You can enjoy hours sitting there and enjoy watching waves.
But Beach needs to be clean so pls don't throw any paper, packets, bottles or any other stuff on beach or in water.

The Panchavati hill trail around ARAI Hills in Pune offers a refreshing and picturesque retreat for nature enthusiasts and trekkers alike. It's a very nice and clean place. It's not very long or difficult to reach . Not much part of trekking but the view you get here is really amazing. Must visit place at the time of monsoon. You can spent time if you want peace and natural beauty is really good here.
The ride through narrow road along this forest is exciting. One can site wild animals, esp., elephants on the way. The long queue to enter vehicle details in the check post is worst experience. Seasoned commuters sent one person to enter details and overtake the queue.

The best part of Powai area is this Powai lake. It is right in the middle of Powai area. This is a huge lake and garden inside it. A huge area to walk run or just seat and enjoy nature. You will get small eat joints also outside the lake. This place is also good for run, walk or casual jog. Getting a park and lake like this that too in central mumbai is a bonus for people who are staying in this locality like me. I highly recommend this place to everyone for anyone who is living in mumbai.
Best time to visit is early in the morning where you can see lots of animals coming and moving around. We had good time
Chinnar wildlife sanctuary is nice place and home for many endangered species. On way to munnar, this place has may watch towers and view wildlife. One has to be careful while driving through this place. Make sure to carry required water and food. Summer is very difficult in this place. Forest department must create some water ponds inside the forest.
It was a daring ride through the dense forest. The road towards the Destination is very narrow and so the speed limit. It is advised to take this route during day time so that u can enjoy the view of Anamalai forest , and if your lucky you can watch birds, animals etc in this route.

DONT TAKE THIS ROUTE during night as it's very risky to drive. And there are chances of sudden fog hindering the visibility to the road.
Amazing efforts for nature conversation by the whole Team.
Staff is very friendly and informative
The place is very happening and refreshing.
We get to witness the actual biodiversity of Mumbai

Adventurous ride to the ultimate location. This place is little difficult to reach but once you reach here you will forgot the way you reach here. A cool and calm place, the place is extremely beautiful and scenic. We found local villagers around the lake doing Yoga and walking. Don’t try to enter the water because it is said there are crocodiles in it.
I am went this way to Munnar with my family. Nice experience in this place but fear in my mind because both sides of the road was forest. Even we can saw some variety birds and animals. The government also informed there is some information boards take care, This place is including tiger, elephant, and etc.
There was an absolute lack of information online on how to arrange or book a trek in the area. When we called the checkpost up, the border guard simply told us to turn up at 8am and a guide would arrive. This was a huge ask as we were staying 2.5 hrs away in Munnar but we rolled the dice after being swayed by the pretty pictures we saw online.

Woke up at 4am, got picked up at 5am, and reached the Chinnar Wildlife Sanctuary Kerala checkpost at 7+am. The guards waiting there told us that the trekking guides would come around 8 to 830. We sat at the checkpost and proceeded to eat our breakfast while fending off the very aggressive macaques (saw a big male actually break into a car that had stopped at the checkpost to make off with an apple. The occupants inside the car ran out screaming).

830 came and went. Enquired with the border guards again. They assured us the guides would come. We asked if they had a number to call, they said the guides were from the tribal areas and beyond the reach of cell reception.

At about 8.55am, the guides finally turn up, decked in camo uniform with CWS badges. We were taken into the ecotourism centre, where we paid 700 rupees each for a 3 hour trek (foreigner rate). We were issued a receipt.

Our guide then took us back to the checkpost and registered our trek with the border guards. We then proceeded off into the bush with our guide who took us on a 3 hour hike that included a climb up a watchtower.

During our trek, we saw elephants and gaur from a distance (and lots of their dung up close). The sounds they made could be heard across the valley. Our local guide had eyes that were preternaturally sharp and pointed out the wildlife to us that we would have otherwise missed.

Overall, the experience was great and I greatly enjoyed myself. The only downside was the scorching hot weather so please bring lots of sunblock, a wide brim hat, or even an umbrella. This was on 20 Feb 2023.

Anyway, for those looking to come here, my advice would be to reach the Chinnar Kerala checkpost at about 9 or 930am, when the ecotourism office should be open. Sign up with a local guide and you'll be on your way.

(Other online reviews of the checkpost talk about being robbed by the border guards, which honestly sounds quite scary. When we were there in the morning, the guards were entirely professional and polite, if somewhat punctilious about insisting that we do not wander around and stay put while waiting for the guides to turn up).
Beautiful place to visit and roam around.
You can enjoy different varieties of flora and fauna, grown and maintained out for the same.
One can easily spend minimum 2 hours and explore this place.

I have been staying in Baner for 10 years but Baner Tekdi has always been my go to place when I want to be in nature. You could get a beautiful view when you're on top of this hill. Considerably lower altitude than any other hills and stairs makes this place accessible to each and every age group and you could even bring your pets for a walk.

1. The Puri Beach along the New Marine Drive road is in my opinion presently the better section of the coastline. It is clean, well maintained, not too crowded and a great place to spend your vacation. The hotels along this stretch are also new and have much more modern rooms and amenities.

2. The famous Swargadwar beach in comparison has become dirty and is perpetually crowded. The number of food and souvenir stalls on the beach makes it impossible to even walk beside the ocean. Hotels in this stretch are old and often charge exorbitant prices for rooms with bare minimum amenities. However if shopping for local handicrafts is something you are a fan of then this is the beach for you.

Love this place. I wish I had more time to explore. It is decently maintained and there’s a path to walk along the lake. Fresh air, can do cycling, good for morning & evening walk. Pure nature. If you are lucky you can spot peacocks. Huge area to cover.

Pawai Lake is a beautiful and serene body of water located in the heart of Mumbai. Surrounded by lush greenery and dotted with charming little islands, this lake is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The calm waters of the lake make it a great spot for boating and other water activities, while the surrounding parkland is perfect for a leisurely stroll or picnic. The lake is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of benches and seating areas to relax and take in the views. Overall, Pawai Lake is a must-visit destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a peaceful day in nature.
Must visit place for nature lovers!!!
This place is situated right in the middle of the city. Good for beginners for trekking and off road cycling.
Scenic view from the top.
Highly recommended to visit in rainy season
It was really nice land of nature which was reserve by BHNS. There are different different types of trees & butterfly garden. Must visit in rainy season for enjoying monsoon with nature climate ❤🤙
Awesome place to visit for a Trail walk.. so many species of birds and trees.. if you're lucky, you'll find leopard 🐆 too. Very peaceful place. Just inside the film City.
Go along with the guide, because there are many places whose significance is great but we missed seeing it.. like Ghost Tree and the lake, etc.. must visit once.. while going and coming you will find many shooting sets of TV Series like - Sath Nibhana Sathiya and lick up, etc. We were lucky to find an ongoing shooting too.
Tickets for the reserve are Rs. 200 and guide charges around 1500 per hour.
To go inside you will have to have a BNHS person with you with BNHS i-card.
Camera and own food, both are allowed inside.. Wada pav and nature walk is the deadliest combo which we enjoyed over there.
Butterfly garden is also very good . Just next to parking.

They provide guides who are best in nature trails.
A must visit place to get knowledge about nature. A hidden gem in the mumbai.
So long as We were at Puri I went every morning to the sea-side. At noon my friends and I bathed in the sea. I fascinated, seeing the excellent sunset from the Golden beach of Puri, this sea beach is famous for all beaches in Puri. After that, we got back to our hotel.
Next day we visited the Jagannath temple. The building is a magnificent one. We saw the wooden images of Jagannath, Balaram and Subhadra. We prayed to them for mercy. On our way back from the temple we had a view of Lakshmi-Narayan Jola, the vast paddy field. The oblations offered to Jagannath daily are made of the rice which grows in this field. We were at Puri for 2 days. The wholesome climate of the place and the regular sea-bath improved our health.

Nice place to spend some time in morning and evening. The lake is clean and you can find people walking around the park. Good place to visit !

Used to visit this place when I was a kid. I’m not quite sure about how it’s condition is right now. But I reckon it’s still a good choice for a mini picnic.

Used to go here a lot during my child hood , the little pools of water that are fed from the spring would have a lot of tiny fish in them. Has a potential to be a eco-tourism spot, bieng so close to the road.
