A nice small cozy Asian dining place in the heart of Bandra.

Zao Cha in Bandra has a nice vibe and comfortable seating.
However, when we went, the service was quite slow and poor.
We ordered prawn Cheung Fun, Spinach Noodles, Chicken Rice Noodles and Roast Lamb in non veg and fried rice, avocado rolls and edamame dumplings in veg. The food was ok.

The food here speaks for itself. Your only go for Asian inspired well-made mouthwatering delicacies.
The lavender base cocktail is to die for.
Be sure to try their Fried turnip cake appetizer.

It is loved by all so much so that it seems too crowded most times. Thus spoiling the overall vibe.

Excellent food and service. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and main course. The restaurant had very modern styling.
It was new years eve and they insisted on blaring music which did not allow the 8 of us to converse. We asked them to turn it down once, but the restarted the loud music after a while.

This place is already hyped up in Mumbai, so let me not repeat what thousands have already mentioned ahead of me.

If you are in BKC area, this is a very good option for a nice Asian meal option. Food quality is good, service is excellent & atmosphere is casual. It remains open till late night, so it helps if you are looking for a late night meal.

Few things that didn’t work for me :
- Average cost is almost Rs. 2,000/person without liquor. Everyone may not agree, This is way too expensive IMHO.
- Place is loud, so everyone is speaking above normal decibel level to get heard.
- Tables are too close to each other to have a nice quiet, private meal if that’s what you are looking for.
- Please don’t upsell me your expensive dishes & then charge us even though we return 75% the plate served as we just can’t consume it.
- Serving Rs. 600 water bottle when we don’t ask for it is a very bad business practice. Most don’t object, but we do feel cheated for sure. Please ask instead of assuming we want over-priced water at your establishment.

Overall, a good place to check-out. Will I be back here ? I am not sure.

Had a lovely meal here with family and the quality of the food and taste is excellent. We had two toddlers with us and they enjoyed the meal as well.

We were all vegetarian and had enough options to choose from. They catered for our allergy requirements.

The drinks were very tasty as well. The overall experience is very similar to Yauatcha London where I have been a few times.

Will definitely visit again soon.

This place should be called WOWtcha.

The dim sum is tremendous and globally competitive with places I’ve been in Malaysia, NYC and London. The Cheung Fun (steamed prawn) may be the best I’ve had in my life.

The ramen noodles were also delicious, along with the chicken in the clay pot - but the is place is really all about the dim sum.

Loved everything about this place, visited this place on a sunny afternoon for celebrating wedding anniversary.
The food was delicious, service was also good.. and love the cozy atmosphere inside..

My friend took me to the Amazing place! An awesome ambience with positive vibe.
First time seen the Cantonese Menu and yummy ducks....!

The bar and bartenders are amazing with their skills ! Wide variety of mixing and juices. Overall, a very good place to hang out with friends and I would recommend anyone and everyone to this place.

Absolutely delicious, the menu itself is very attractive. Atmosphere gave me a feel that I am in the best place around. Food is of high standards. Staff behaviour is very pleasing. Had a very wonderful evening. Must try place....

Amazing ambiance and delicious food taste is also awesome. I want to recommend some of my friends to visit really it is very cool place to hangout and chill. I tried soup and dark chocolate mousse they are really awesome. even now, also it's mouth watering for me. I want to visit this place must try these while you are to this restaurant.

If you are vegetarians and love dumplings, wood noodles and fried rice, this is the place for you.
If you don't enjoy, my recommendation is to skip it.

Great ambience, good place , good Vibes.. do not miss Asparagus n waterchesnut dumplings, edamame have tried but not the best one.

Per person cost for vegetarians without alcohol is approx Rs1200 as one dish have 3 pcs n costs approx 500.

M not a dumpling person so for me this place overhyped...there is no separate kids menu.

Reservation is preferred.

I went for the sakura brunch. Loved the food. There were so many types of vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. Loved dumpling soup, edamame n sweet corn soup. Amazing sushi n dumplings. Wontons were out of the world. Overall the food was amazing. We were served by Mr Karam Kanojia. He was super sweet n did his job well. The whole vibe was super chill.

My first post Covid visit was a happy one with some old favourites and a few newbies on the menu. Fresh ingredients and great flavours make their sushi and dumplings easily the best items to go for.

Only thing - it is a restaurant, not a nightclub, irrespective of whether it is the weekend. The volume of the music was ramped up halfway through the evening, and we had to shout to hear ourselves, which spoiled the fun a little.

The restaurant doesn't provide anything from their side. Even a roadside dhaba or some small eatery provides fennel seeds or salad which are complementary. I have been to other restaurants which provides chocolates which are complementary. When someone goes to such a good restaurants he/ she expects something which will make their experience better. They could have provided some fennel seeds atleast at the end.
Food taste was very good and the staff behaviour was very polite. It is expected from such kind of restaurants but the experience was okay, not something to mention specially.

Visit this eatery if the rain caught you off guard when you were strolling near St. Teresa Church. You can sample delicious chicken, prawn, and dim sum dishes. Start your lunch with a delicious cup of tea. A very tiny interior room upstairs and a couple of outdoor tables in a very tiny space.

Here, the staff is reputed to be polite. At Zao Cha House, the customer service is excellent. There are rumours of reduced prices here. Customers are drawn in by the pleasant environment. The location is adorable and well-kept; it's a tiny room with a few outdoor tables and an upper room. Service was prompt and courteous. Good food with basic, distinct flavour. Numerous vegan and vegetarian choices.

At Zao Cha House, two people would pay around 1800. No, alcohol is not served at Zao Cha House. That's unfortunate. There is valet parking available at Zao Cha House, however it can be challenging to accommodate your car in the narrow byways surrounding the establishment, so allow an extra 15 minutes.

Pan Asian cuisine is the primary food offered at Zao Cha House.

We had already tried these dishes and was lovely:
Suimai Chicken, Prawns, Chive Squid, and Salt and Pepper
Seafood, Claypot Chicken, and Roast Lamb, Green Tea (Flavoured), Sea Food YangCol  and the Truffle Pastry

Overall a 3/5 for the lack of space, parking challenges and non-alcoholic menu options.

Went for the experience but stayed for the food. Every item we ordered was delicious. The drinks were a hit or miss though. We ordered 4 different cocktails, 2 were delicious 2 were not. I highly suggest everyone to try their dim sums. The hosts were extremely welcoming and warm but the servers were not. The server who took our order seemed disheartened to do her job and wasn’t very well equipped with menu and hence couldn’t answer our questions. But the manager on duty was very attentive and polite. He addressed our concerns quickly. I will of course visit again.

I have visited last week it's fabulous and it is special with it's tasty variety of dishes.
It has a luxurious dining too and it also provides with many international dishes too.

Good, authentic East Asian food. The atmosphere is very welcoming, pleasant, and beautiful.  The music is never too loud, which is a good thing. The signature dishes, dimsums and desserts are excellent. it was an extremely positive experience for me.

As part of a business dinner, we enjoyed very tasty cocktails and drinks as well as a delicious Cantonese Dinner. Though looking rather normal from the outside, the interior is beautiful and the staff has been very attentive!

If you're looking for a delightful restaurant experience in Bandra, Zao Cha House is an excellent choice. From the moment you step inside, the ambiance is warm and inviting, and the service is top-notch. The Rose Petal and Hibiscus Tea is a must-try - it's fragrant and flavorful, and the perfect way to start your meal. The Chicken Xoiaolong Bao and Prawns Cheung are both delicious and expertly crafted, and the Chicken Suimai is simply outstanding. Amazing ambiance, good presentation, ok taste and textures. The duck while tasty lacked a crisp while the inside was a bit too dry. Sign that it was prepared ahead of time. The issue is that in a busy restaurant certain prep has to be done ahead of time to keep up, but the taste we receive should always seem fresh.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zao Cha House, a Pan-Asian restaurant in the heart of Mumbai city .From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the sleek and modern decor, which was a perfect contrast to the traditional flavors that awaited me.

The menu was extensive and featured a variety of dishes from across Asia. I started with the Petrichor and Yumcha iced tea for drinks, which was really refreshing, perfect way to kickstart lunch. For appetizers we chose Chicken Xialong, soft bao on the outside and hot soup on the inside. Next, we had the Prawns Cheung, this is now a personal favourite .The last starter we chose was Chicken Suimai, if you enjoy soft, juicy dimsums...this is for you. For my main course, I ordered the Yang chow rice with Chicken Macadamia, which was really cooked to perfection and was super flavorful. We chose their chocolate Bao for dessert, it was really fresh and oozing with a mixture of chocolate and nutella. We ended our fulfilling lunch with their Rose Petal and Hibiscus tea which promotes healthy digestion and was the perfect end to a satisfactory meal.

The service was great, with the staff being friendly and attentive throughout my meal. They were able to provide great recommendations on what to order, and I appreciated how they checked in on me periodically.

Overall, I would highly recommend Zao Cha House to anyone looking for a great Pan-Asian luxury dining experience in Bandra.The quality of the food and the excellent service makes this restaurant stand out, and I can't wait to go back and try more dishes on the menu.

When it comes to standalone asian restaurants in Mumbai, I’m pretty sure KOKO is at the very top! Maybe Yauatcha/Hakkasan are of similar standards but this one should definitely be in your bucket list. Chef Eric Sifu who hails from Malaysia and brings in culinary experience from working in a Michelin starred restaurant (Din Tai Fung) in Singapore has done a fantastic job in creating an amazing menu. I with my 3 other friends had gone for the Sakura Brunch and it was worth every penny. Sumptuous spread (you name it they have it), groovy yet soothing music and the interesting decor of the dining room takes the experience to an whole another level. Coming to food specifically, Dim Sums were very expertly made (not the best in the city but extremely tasty undoubtedly), KOKO Signature Roll was a banger, Spicy Chicken Bao was the best one I ever had in my life, The staples/small plates were honestly very okkayish and finally the desserts were again big hits since they were reinterpretations of Masterchef Australia’s finale desserts. One suggestion is that the Sakura Brunch menu in terms of Dim Sums can be a little more well thought since mostly everything has chicken chicken chicken…More variety would be appreciated there in terms of filling. I guess more overall thought is required in designing the Sakura Brunch menu. But again since the menu changes from time to time, it’s a good thing. Service by Akash & the front desk lady who escorted us to choose the table was fantastic. Very professional and it seems as if they know how to do their job well. Overall it’s a great experience, with a lot of hits and very minor misses so I would still give 5 stars haha! Definitely going again when the menu changes.

Hakasan has a very good vibe with fantastic decor. As soon as you enter you know you are at a great fine dining place. The place is definitely not cheap, but trust me it is worth the money. The food at Hakasan is probably one of the best Asian food I have had in Mumbai, and Hakasan as a restraunt is in my top 5 restraunts in Mumbai. Dishes I tried and loved each and every one of them:
Wild mushroom soup
Scallop dimsums
Salt and pepper squid
Pork belly with mantao - very very highly recommend this dish
Trout in mustard sauce
Egg fried rice with spring onion
Berries and yuzu

This is hands down, the best sushi I’ve had in Mumbai!!! The rice to filling ratio is perfect, seafood is fresh and delicious and the sauces or additions made do not drown out the fish at all!
The Forbidden Fruit dessert is a must try any time you go. It is rather big, so be careful when you order!

Food & hospitality is on point. One of the best places for dumplings in the city and  serve a proper closed bao!

The bungalow which has been converted into a beautiful restaurant with an open and enclosed sitting area, this place gives a perfect Chinese tea house kinda vibes.

The place is super! Dumplings are definitely the stand out dish. We had a lot of dumplings different varieties,, but i liked the prawn dumplings the best. Had soup and noodles which was part of their all you can eat dim sum n tea lunch! Must visit!

An interesting place with some palatable cuisine. The crunchy avocado roll, wasabi prawns, sticky rice in lotus leaf are really delectable and my favourites. The restaurant also serves Chinese tea, which may be paired with some of the dishes. Ask the one serving you for the recommendation or just check the menu where the same will be mentioned.
For those who seek something discerning in South East Asian cuisine, Zao Cha House is a must try.
