Rooms are Small, no Emenites, AC work good, near The beach 🏖
Extremely disappointed with this hotel. We booked a room, but they canceled it without any valid reason and handled the situation rudely. Very irresponsible management.
Food - We ordered a Yellow rice , Spaghetti Bolognese , Iced Coffee and Virgin Mojito . We had to wait more than 30 minutes for the food to be served . The two beverages were good , nothing to complain . The food though is not worth the money and does not taste good . The chicken bolognese barely had any chicken in there but lots of vegetables . Food is overall not so good and not reccomended.

Atmosphere - There are flies and there were no toilet papers in the washrooms. The toilet papers were only provided once after we inquired .
Overall even though the service of the staff is good , having to wait for a long time for food that does not taste good is a very bad experience for the price we paid . Anyhow , I would think twice to go in there again to dine .

Cafe Aroma Inn offers a delightful dining experience with delicious food and exceptionally friendly service. Miss Thilini provided outstanding service, adding a personal touch to our visit. The calm and clean ambiance further enhanced the overall dining pleasure, making it an excellent choice for a satisfying meal.
This is a great place for enjoy your evening with a coffee or cappuccino ☕️.
The room was spacious and super clean. We loved the hot rain shower, with equipped bathroom. I slept very nicely with lot of soft pillows. And you have a TV with HBO family and many other channels.
But the BEST was the staff ! So welcoming, nice, smiling and helpful. They booked me a pick me so I save money, directed me to their shop for a good money exchange, answered all our questions. Ashan, from the staff, took personal care of us. And the location is sick to visit the temple of the tooth relics and world Buddhism museum, which I highly recommend.

We stayed two nights at cafe aroma which is situated in the centre of Kandy.
The rooms were well kept, air conditioned only downside are the lack of outdoor windows.
The food however was excellent, I will think about that Kottu for a long time.
The staff were really attentive and kind, thank you to everyone!

I was looking for a good restaurant in Kandy to have a good coffee. Cafe Aroma Inn is the best choice. It is beautiful and clean. The vibe is awesome and calm.
The cappuccino was excellent and the burger was delicious.
Specifically Mr. Pabasara was very good in his service. I'm really appreciate his caring service.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - Stay away at all costs. Booked 2 rooms at this hotel, 1 room was requested as a family room and another single room.
When we arrived for our check in, which was around 9pm, we were informed the rooms had been changed to an apartment instead. We were not keen with this change but considering the time and the fact we had 3 young tired children, we agreed.
However, when we went into the apartment, the stench was unbelievable. We could not stay inside the apartment for few minutes. We went back down to request a change and were told they were fully booked. This was an unbelievable experience. We had booked 2 rooms and ended up with a disgusting smelling apartment instead which they had changed us to and when we requested a change - they refused. We had to find new accommodations in the middle if the night which was very difficult to do with children. Completely disappointing!

Amazing stay, phenomenal service and culinary experiences to match. From start to finish no detail was overlooked and the level of serviced was truly superb. Our butler Nilantha, was amazing throughout the stay and really made our stay that much more special.

We have just returned from our August 2023 holiday to #riusrilanka and where to start
Well we arrived at 11:45 and as we were tired after our long journey we were allocated our room early and had a free upgrade to full sea view room which was lovely.
The hotel itself is very nice it is clean and of a high standard.
The food is good it’s hot and with a decent variety on offer we dined at all 4 available restaurants and our favourite was the sauté restaurant very nice. In all the restaurants the staff were very friendly, happy to serve us and nothing seemed too much trouble for them.
As far as the pools are they are kept very clean and our favourite was the adults only infinity pool with the swim up bar perfect for cooling off in the sunshine. The staff here also extremely friendly and efficient very nice and professional.
Bars in the hotel had a good selection of drinks all of which were served to you by the waiters who always happily kept your glass full with excellent service off them all, big shout out to Buwaneka Jayawardhana he was our usual waiter always smiling happy and professional a credit to the hotel and his country I have to say .
We went on a few trips one was booked off the beach guy Tharu who I highly recommend he is very friendly, again nothing too much trouble for him and his green Tuk tuk with londis on the screen is brilliant.
All in all a fantastic holiday was had for our 30th wedding anniversary and we will definitely be returning

Location is beautiful. Have lots of parking space but thoes are in separately. Can reach easily.

24 hr unlimited food is a lie. No food between 10p.m to 6a.m and after 10pm all restaurants are closed. Morning 10 -12pm has a small buffet with 6 varieties . (soft buns, papaya,pine apple, muffin and salad).

Was here for a wedding reception and the overall impression was decent. There were many reception halls, while not overly roomy, are suitable for hosting a well-proportioned gathering. Food was moderate. Parking within the premises tends to reach capacity swiftly, but there is another parking outside the premises as well

I had actually only booked two nights here. Since I felt very comfortable in the room and didn't hear anything from the loud Kandy, I stayed a total of four nights and was able to explore a lot in the area. The breakfast can be improved and took a bit too long for me, but I was always served very friendly and I was helped with every problem. The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning worked without any problems.
Loved the food and the ambience! Great place overall :) the waiters were friendly and polite and Suresh was extremely helpful and ensured our family dinner was memorable. Thank you all so much for the 5* Service.. Will definitely come back :)
I recently visited riu Hotels, I was feeling very horrible because of the Customer service was so poor they didn't properly guide us in the reception example they didn't tell us that we should take some access cards to get towels and toothbrush etc . So when we went to get it they told it is in the envelope with the room keys however it wasn't there and workers who are working in the pool section were asking too much questions.Also one of the worker came inside the room without our permission. Not being biased other 5 star hotels which i have visited have way better customer service and also there rooms were very clean and had all the essentials in the rooms.
This hotel serves just the basic needs. Rooms are not so clean. All rooms are a bit smelly. The bathroom was clean enough. They don't provide toiletries or tea/coffee maker. It is cheap, but they don't provide much either.

It was an incredible experience for me to recently stay at the Hotel Riu Sri Lanka. In terms of amenities and services, the hotel surpassed my expectations. I was happy to get to know that the restaurants were open 24 hrs, giving the opportunity to grab a bite whenever wanted. The food was excellent and there was a vast range of cuisines available. The hotel also included a number of bars that served a wide variety of beverages and cocktails and it was also available for 24hrs. The accommodations had a fantastic view of the beach and were tidy, roomy, and well-kept. The hotel includes a number of pools including a kids play area, which is amazing. The hotel's location is ideal, and the beach is fantastic. To anyone hoping to have a relaxing time with family or friends, I would highly recommend Hotel Riu Sri Lanka.
There are 2 sections. Cafe and restaurant. Both have a very calm atmosphere. Not get so busy. Food was good. Recommended
Awful place! I booked this place online for someone else. When arrived at the property, was told that they don’t take online bookings although the amount was deducted from my credit card. The management said we need to pay them directly, which cost more than twice the money that was advertised online. We were also told to call AGODA to get a refund for the amount that was paid online. Horrible customer service. The person I booked this for, had to go find other sorts of accommodation for the night and I was chatting to AGODA for 1 hour to get the refund. Do not recommend!! This was an awful situation for us and the management did not care for it at all, although this was their fault. You’re better off finding something else.
This is probably my favourite bungalow compared to the 4 bungalows. The service is impeccable and the staff is very friendly. All the best

Utter, utter heaven. This beautiful bungalow off the beaten track in the hill country is a perfect retreat. The service is hugely friendly, attentive and personal - after a few days you'll start to feel like you're in your own house (if only) and the food is sublime. Expeditions to the other Tea Trails bungalows are a highlight - we visited Castlereagh in the course of a visit to the tea factory at Dunkeld - and a walk through the tea trails themselves is an ideal way to explore the area. Can't recommend it enough.

The food was great with a huge variety of cuisines available, and we were pleased to find out that the restaurants were open 24 hrs, which gave us the flexibility to grab a bite whenever we wanted. The hotel also had multiple bars, which were also open 24 hrs, offering a great selection of drinks and cocktails.
We were also fortunate enough to get a room upgrade, and the rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, offering a great view of the beach. The hotel has multiple swimming pools, which we enjoyed thoroughly. The location of the hotel is perfect, and the beach is simply wonderful.
The hotel had a plethora of activities to take part in, including a DJ in the evening. We also had access to the jacuzzi and sauna bath, which were included in the 24 hrs all-inclusive package. It was an amazing experience, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
One thing to note is that the hotel has a no drone policy, and we were not allowed to take the drone inside the hotel or fly it at the beach.
Overall, we had a memorable vacation, and we would highly recommend Hotel Riu Sri Lanka to anyone looking to relax with family or a couple of friends. The hotel's facilities and services were exceptional, and we look forward to returning in the future.

We are so happy on this decision because we got a chance to held our big day as planned and special things is after the wedding there weren't any negative on our wedding. Had our wedding here. Mr. Janaka & Ms.Dilini did a great job from the initial inspection to the end of our function. Even the stewards were attentive & helpful. Food was phenomenal and their menus had a major spread. Further, there are no hidden charges at all. Overall we had an amazing day. Attached photos were taken the day prior to the function (still decorating).
The overall experience was satisfactory. Hotel had many function halls which were well maintained, along with lift access. Staff was efficient. The lobbies were not much spacious and some areas were under renovation.
Wonderful time spent here, we absolutely loved everything about our stay. San was phenomenal - so discreet and solutions oriented for every request, probably the best service we've encountered anywhere. The rooms were very comfortable with beautiful views. High tea was a treat. The food was phenomenal - the chef came around every day to suggest your breakfast/lunch and dinner orders, if you wanted to deviate a little (e.g. if you didn't want beef but fish) nothing was too much trouble. The pool area is lovely (although the water a little cold - I don't believe it is heated).
Outstanding boutique hotel - comprised of multiple buildings spread over a hillside by a lake, these properties were once home to the tea plantation owners. We stayed at Norwood Bungalow (7 guest rooms) which was built by British owners more than 150 yrs ago, really a unique property in an amazing setting. We travel extensively and this is one of the finest hotels with the best service - nothing is too much to ask and the atmosphere is very casual. Highly recommended!

My fav midway point coffee shop! Love the signature frappe. Staff is friendly and cafe is clean. And it’s next to a great buffet restaurant with clean bathrooms!
Normal hotel in the center of Colombo. You have different cafe and public transport near. Our room was small and window without view. Also you can use hotel wifi, water and microwave. The bed was perfect and you can sleep well, but sometimes it's noisy from street.

The hotel/bungalow is set in the tea trails that you are completely immersed into nature. The setting, the landscape, the attention to details are second to none. We visited the tea factory and it is so fun and informative, had delicious tea tasting as well. If you love hiking, there are several routes you may choose from that lead you to the places where locals live, passing by schools, houses, a waterfall, etc.
The hotel is all-inclusive based, but in reality is it beyond a-la-carte. Each bungalow has only five rooms and there is a whole team looking after these five rooms only. Each day head chef comes to explain menu and dishes of the day and all your dietary requirements and preferences are met, more than you asked for. Laundry is included, they certainly don’t have to but it is such a wonderful touch!
People are so friendly, humble, hospitable, caring, they have so much knowledge and most of all, it is rare to see that everyone absolutely loves their jobs and you can feel they are proud of working there.

The hotel/bungalow is set in the tea trails that you are completely immersed into nature. The setting, the landscape, the attention to details are second to none. We visited the tea factory and it is so fun and informative, had delicious tea tasting as well. If you love hiking, there are several routes you may choose from that lead you to the places where locals live, passing by schools, houses, a waterfall, etc.
The hotel is all-inclusive based, but in reality is it beyond a-la-carte. Each bungalow has only five rooms and there is a whole team looking after these five rooms only. Each day head chef comes to explain menu and dishes of the day and all your dietary requirements and preferences are met, more than you asked for. Laundry is included, they certainly don’t have to but it is such a wonderful touch!
People are so friendly, humble, hospitable, caring, they have so much knowledge and most of all, it is rare to see that everyone absolutely loves their jobs and you can feel they are proud of working there.

Been here for a wedding reception the overall experience was okay. The food was average and the staff were generally helpful. The reception halls are not the most spacious but would accommodate an appropriately distributed crowd. The parking area in front of the hotel tends to get filled up fast and if that happens the staff would redirect you to a separate parking lot nearby. Better to ask them for directions once at the venue.

Wonderful time spent here, we absolutely loved everything about our stay. San was phenomenal - so discreet and solutions oriented for every request, probably the best service we've encountered anywhere. The rooms were very comfortable with beautiful views. High tea was a treat. The food was phenomenal - the chef came around every day to suggest your breakfast/lunch and dinner orders, if you wanted to deviate a little (e.g. if you didn't want beef but fish) nothing was too much trouble. The pool area is lovely (although the water a little cold - I don't believe it is heated). Warning: if you are a foodie, you will probably be disappointed by anywhere else you go after this...so our advice would be to end your trip in Sri Lanka here, as everything is so refined - anywhere else will pale in comparison. Sipping a martini while playing a game of pool and relaxing by the fireplace is a highlight.
Good place with a warm cozy environment to have a cup of tea/coffee while having a chat with your friends or loved ones. Offers a range of cakes and short eats along with a variety coffee and other beverages. Everything seems decently priced. Offers a good customer service. Hope to visit again.
Superb ❤️🔥 from the boat ride across the river to get to the private bungalow, to the outstanding food, everything was beyond magical. Special thanks to the staff for making it such an enjoyable stay. The location was really spectacular, overlooking the reservoir and hearing the sounds of nature. Calm and nice place to have a evening snack with a coffee or tea. Good for meetnings/discussions with a friend/s. Staff is professional and foods are very good and fresh. They have a vast variety of coffee which are good in taste including espresso,americano,cappuccino,latte... Prices are quite high but worth a try.

I had the absolute pleasure of visiting one of the most beautiful places on earth, Dunkeld Estate which sits proudly overlooking the calm waters of Castlereagh Lake surrounded by mesmerizing views of humongous green-velvety mountains that grandly rise to the clear blue skies. Not only was the scenery breathtaking, but the bungalow holds a tone of rich serenity and is tastefully decorated, amazingly comfortable, clean, and subtlety spoke of luxury in every detail.

The staff graciously pointed to us the hiking, trekking, and biking trails that led us through the heavenly greens of the Castlereigh Reservoir and connected pathways to the other four grand bungalows secretly nestled in the valley.
The very informative Tea Factory tour led by Barnard who is a connoisseur showed us how the rich liquor was created, with thorough processing, grading, and tasting of the finely plucked tea leaves.
Our evenings were spent either enjoying a silent game of chess, or we got the balls rolling in the cozily-built billiard room. The well-lit fireplace lifted the atmosphere, and we gathered around it to enjoy a drink we poured from the bar in-house. The spa services were amazing and the services were offered by true professionals.
The staff was very accommodating, kind, caring, and offered a very professional service. We enjoyed scrumptious food prepared for us by Chef Ravi Chandra and Janaka the Butler, Lahiru, Chamara & Umesh, the House Attendants were very helpful and attentive to our every need.

Amazing stay. Service was immaculate! Ajith, Priyantha and Danushka were great with their hospitality. Extremely professional as well. Chef was an artists! Food was lovely.

Had tea at castlereagh which I found to feel a little more “American” than Dunkeld which was more British cottage

One of the best coffee shops in Sri Lanka! Very tasty food for a very reasonable price! The atmosphere is breath taking ! Ample amount of space to park and a definite stop while traveling through Anuradhapura.
This place is one of the best places I’ve been. We went to Summervill bungalow for our honeymoon. Clement was our butler and he offered us a very good service. We stayed there for 2 nights. On the 2nd day Clement arranged a tour to their tea factory and he arranged lunch at Castlereagh bungalow. We also went on a board ride. Chef Shan made sure we enjoyed every meal. We really enjoyed the food specially the deserts. 😍 all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Made us feel homely. I would go to this place again. Calm and peaceful place with a breathtaking view.

Not taking care of the guides and drivers who drive long hours to there tea trails. They call a day before and on the way to the tea trails if we are coming or what time we will reach the tea trails. But after that they don't call us. Not even on the Check out day. I see they have not learnt a lesson from COVID 19, one world, one people, one life. There is something terrible coming a head of all of us. Don't forget we all are the same.

Was one of the best experiences in our life, once you arrive they welcome you by saying" Welcome Home" and it really does feel like home. Food is beyond amazing, once you arrive the chef asks you about your preferred meals and service is fantastic. Would definitely go back there regularly!
Exceptional service and food, staff is really excellent. Location is nested in tea plantations, which has its pros but also cons. When booking we weren’t told of the terrible road conditions, we had a big SUV and it was a real struggle to arrive. Make sure to ask them to arrive at Summerville bungalow, and then use their boat to cross the lake, it’s much faster and more convenient. Activities in the area are limited, I wouldn’t recommend to spend more than a few days, unless you are really into secluded places and in need of extensive relaxation. Wine selection is OK, but I wouldn’t call it premium (they only have Cava as sparkling wine, and wines are from OK but not premium wine regions), given the cost I thought it was a bit of a let down.

We stayed 1 night in the Dunkeld bungalow and 2 nights in the Summerville bungalow. The view on the lake is amazing, especially early in the morning. The garden is like a fairytale with a mix of nice coloured flowers and plants. The service of the staff is at a high level. Each bungalow has his own staff with chef, 24h butler and houseboys. They will make your stay as nice as possible. No effort is to much! You can visit the tea factory or do kayaking on the lake or a hike in the tea fields, they have a good ‘animation’ team that will arrange everything for the activity’s. And further you can enjoy the food and drinks with piece full view to relax.
Just like your own home with best of the facilities and services. Food here outs outstanding and our Butler Janaka is fantastic. And definitely the views are you die for.
The view from the bungalow was amazing. Chef Sohan was very kind and obliging and talented he would cook specific diet dishes from our menu for our toddler.
However, the water supply/techinicalities involved in the water supply could be improved as twice while bathing, water supply was cut. (First time on my toodler and second on myself)
Also many times we could not find staff anywhere and would go to the kitchen to speak to them. And there was no call bell in the living room.
Also butler could improve. I had asked for in-room breakfast it didn't come, then 45mins later someone else knocked on my door and asked me what I wanted for breakfast. Then the butler came and said,"you breakfast was ready i didn't bring it because I thought u will come out." To which I said that my cappuccino was brought to the room as I had said that I would like it in-room and did mention about the breakfast as well. Then he argued saying I should call him. And for the rest of the 5 days stay, most of the time he didn't ask me what I wanted for dessert or tea when he asked everyone.

Outstanding ! From the service to the food quality and the tranquility of the location, simply outstanding. Sanath the bungalow manager and his team was simply exceptional, looking into every single detail to make our stay wonderful, Head Chef Ranil Prasanna marvelled us from breakfast, lunch, high tea to dinner. Starting from breakfast, the croissants which are the best in Sri Lanka to the high tea were superb, the pastries along with the scones were exceptional, as well the specialised appetisers created by Chef Ranil at dinner time. Overall it’s a home away from home holiday, well done team tea trails 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Beautiful and serene the bungalow is the actual bungalow that the owner uses! The garden croquet, bird watching and scenic beauty is good for the soul. Mr. Jayaram and Mr. Govindaswamy will keep your taste buds to tingling. Very pleasant friendly staff great getaway from the hustle and bustle!
We have travelled all over the world, never experienced such hospitality, kindness and caring as from the Sri Lankan people. This hotel is a gem, hidden in the mountains with tranquility, peace and quiet that you don’t find anywhere else in the world. Thank you all so much for the experience, we will be returning.
A truly stunning estate. The views and the setting are unique and the flora and fauna exquisite. The bungalow has been sympathetically preserved and the Victorian atmosphere tangible. The estate tour is painless and the tea itself delicious. The only problem is the journey from Colombo. 4.5 hours of bone shaking, winding roads. Cinnamon Air is a good option.

Binoya Tea Estate is beautiful and peaceful, off the beaten path of tourists yet accessible by train. We toured the Rozella Tea Factory (on the same property) and did a tea tasting. The owner and all staff were wonderful, going above and beyond to show us the area and make our trip memorable.

Beautiful secluded retreat! Host was so helpful. Interesting walk to see the tea pickers, tea factory and antiquated little railway station. Accommodation was a large bungalow. Very comfortable and enjoyable couple of days here.
