Amazing place to visit. The staff is really welcoming and talkative, you can sit inside the planes, plenty to do with kids. Strongly recommend!

The people in the houses were dressed like they were from the old times. They taught us a lot about Sweden's history and how they used to live.

You can also buy cool things and eat outside, which is nice.

I think it would be even better if they showed us how the windmills worked back in the day.

I thought the ticket was a bit pricey, but everything was super clean, especially the bathrooms.

Finally, SkansenIt's a valuable destination for anyone keen on understanding the rich heritage of this fascinating country. It's worth a visit!

Definitely the coolest daytime activity while I was in Stockholm. I had never heard anything about this ship, so learning about its history and getting to see the ship in person was very interesting. I could not believe the amount of detail that went into the wooden art adorning the ship. The museum is laid out well, and the video presentation is a must-see. I recommend watching it before walking the rest of the museum. The harbor outside the museum is also a beautiful spot to see other modern ships and is next to a little park. We spent about an hour and a half there and looked at everything, and watched the video. We bought our tickets at the door with no wait and used a credit card. We went during a weekday around 2pm.

A must visit while in Stockholm if you like history. Although I think even if you are not big into it you would still very much enjoy the unique experience. I don’t think pictures do justice to this place or the incredibly mind blowing story behind the ship.

The museum is incredibly well laid out. I highly recommend doing the guided tour (free and available in different languages) and watching the short documentary available in the museum theatre.

There is restaurant and free locker on premise as well

Wow!!! A must see museum on your visit in Stockholm. We bought the Go City pass and it was easy to use. Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours at this museum. There is a short film, exhibits, and the ship to enjoy. In addition, there was a classical Jazz band playing music as we enjoyed our visit. We visited on a Wednesday, and they were open for extended hours.

This is an interesting historical tourist place in Stockholm, as there are multiple old homes and structures preserved here, a large park to walk, a kids zoo, aquarium (costs extra) and a science museum.

This place is perfect for your kids and they will enjoy it. There is a beautiful traditional market and we were pleased to see the folk dance.

A good place for a family to enjoy a day in stockholm.
Small place. They tend to only have one exhibition.
So look up what's on before you go. I would have preferred the next exhibition, but the Moki Cherry was fun and it's nice to see old art.

Amazing afternoon out. Stunned by the ship, couldn't stop staring at it, trying to imagine it when it was new. I've never seen anything like it anywhere in my life, couldn't get over the size and how elaborately carved and put together it was. Also the food in the cafe is amazing - I couldn't believe it was a museum cafe, I would have been very pleased with that in a restaurant, but I guess many Brits will say the same, cafe's in attraction buildings in the UK are generally not very good at all. But here the food was excellent and reasonable price.
Also price for museum entry was reasonable considering what you are being allowed to see!
Well worth the visit. If you like history or maritime history or are a bit of a geek, or even not, this just can not be missed. It is probably the single best example of an object or thing which is so well preserved, and breathtakingly menacing - that you can't quite believe what you are seeing.
If I ever go to Stockholm again, this will be the first thing I do!!

A very unique museum and a must to see in Stockholm. It's incredible a beautiful ship saved from the mud and resurrected in 1961 and put on display.
The museum is huge so allow at least 3 hours to get around the various floors.
P.S. The ABBA museum is next door.

A well curated museum featuring works by Twombly, Still, Newman, deBuffet, Matisse, and more. The Seven Rooms and a Garden exhibit by Rashid Johnson was really beautifully done and they did a great job at pairing his works with other pieces.
Very interesting museum! Shows Swedish aviation and you can even sit in planes! Located right next to Västerås Airport. We came all the way from Germany for this! It was definitely worth it.

If you really enjoy history, this palace is a great place to visit. The interior design is very intricate and extravagant. You can buy the tickets in the palace, since it doesn't sell out very quickly. The garden is also a very nice walk, but it gets very hot especially in the summer. Drottningholm Palace is currently occupied, so there is less to see based on which rooms are being used at the time. Overall, it's definitely worth coming here.

A fantastic castle in a huge park area surrounded by the sea. It is actually older than the King palace in downtown Stockholm. There are many rooms and halls in baroque and rococo style and a splendid library, that was made for the Queen with the assistance of Carl Linnaeus. The overall feeling is very close to that of Schonbrunn in Vienna.

We had the opportunity to see 10 paintings of an unknown artist. We finished the exhibition faster than putting our bags in the lockers. We expected something more from this museum, we left disappointed.

Fascinating attraction with a plethora of old Swedish buildings, some of which you can look around.

The park also features enclosures with many Swedish animals that are very well designed for their comfort as well as our viewing. We saw many animals that you typically would not see in zoos such as wolverines, brown bears and lynxes.

Also, wandering around the park we saw red squirrels that ate acorns from our hands!

The staff are very knowledgeable and their activities for children are very well planned. Their restaurant ( It has been a few years since I was there) had some really good food, their home baked bread and homemade soup was to die for. And their carrot cake was a bit of heaven.

Great idea to open on Friday afternoon and free entrance! Always great exhibitions in the heart of Stockholm!
A thought provoking, immersive experience. Well presented throughout with some interesting exhibitions. Also very well located for excellent views across Stockholm with a fantastic restaurant bar on the top floor with excellent windows, although seats by the windows are reserved for guests buying meals.

I would consider this less a museum and more of a gallery, if you are looking for a museum of photography this is not the place, but rather a lovely art museum of photography.

A very charming place to visit. It's really cool that it's one of the oldest open-air museums in the world, and they also have a zoo garden. Important to know, besides the entrance fee, there are certain areas within the zoo garden where you need to pay an additional fee to enter and visit.
Visited the Gothenburg City Museum on a quiet Saturday morning. They offer a choice of single-entry or year-long passes covering four Gothenburg museums for SEK 130. It's important to note that the year-long ticket is valid until December 31st. The museum provides a concise history of Gothenburg from Viking ships to the Volvo era, making it a must-visit for newcomers. Families will appreciate the kids' play area, and there's a souvenir shop worth exploring.

Honestly, I was so pleasantly surprised by this place. I was expecting a little photography museum that we might kill an hour at, just to say we did something other than eat and drink our way through Europe. But this was more like an immersive gallery! The exhibitions were beautiful, at times moving and unsettling, but in the way art is meant to be. And the restaurant on the top floor had the BEST views of the Stockholm bay and some really excellent food. I loved that their bread was baked fresh every day with spent brewer's grain and that all the veggies were grown in a hydroponic garden in the basement, that you could even go take a look at. I don't know what was in their salad dressing but my husband and I could not stop eating it. They also had the best non-alcoholic wine I've ever had there. All in all, 12/10 experience here. Great spot to experience some culture and enjoy a wonderful meal with a stunning view.

I am not a huge fan of museums but this museum is just fantastic. You can learn about the history of this ship, the effort it took to rescue and restore it, the ongoing effort to conserve it for the future and much more. There are info displays everywhere or you can join free tours in English and other languages. You can spend easily 2 hours or more here. The ship is absolutely impressive and huge!

Good museum, entry is free if you have the city pass. You can spend anywhere from 10 minutes to 1.5 hours here depending on how you want to visit. The ship itself is very impressive. There are lots of things to read up on, including details from the ship. There is also a room showing a film about the history of the museum which is really handy if you didn't come with a tour guide. The film is shown in different languages with a timetable outside. There are some really nice things to buy in the gift shop which are reasonably priced for the quality. There are a lot of unisex toilets on site.

One of the loveliest experiences and places in town, although with a bit of mixed feelings when it gets to the lovely animals in captivity.
You can wonder around for hours in this open air museum. The visitable lively houses from various times close at 17, but you can remain in the park for as long as you want.
Beautiful is not enough for this place. Highly recommend.
It contains a couple of houses with lots of statues and sculptures with great interior design from time period.

Really great exhibitions. The souvenir store has amazing collection of books, stationery and board/card games.
The bathroom is clean and I admire that they put small hand-towels to replace paper towels to go more eco-friendly in the bathrooms.

Very cool concept, especially for families, but I would have expected a bit more for the price.

Having such a big park in a big city is by itself amazing. Then making it an open- air museum dedicated to educating people in a fun way is great. I liked walking around, watching the animals and seeing the unique old houses.

However, it would be nice if you could actually go inside. You CAN go in some of them with dressed up people explaining the history in a playful and fun way. That's great! Only when I was there these were only like 3 houses. Maybe it was just today, but I would have definitely wished for more.

You can see many animals that live in Sweden and I saw lots of families with joyful kids. You can join a tour for further explanations and they have signs with explanations.

I do think 19€ is overpriced for a student price. All in all, I still liked it.

Amazing exhibition with super great views of the Vasa boat. The interactive built around this vessel is truly world class. It includes everything from a life size replica of cabin where crew slept to a steer the ship experience. The way things were highlighted was exceptional and I felt like I learned a lot about the history. Be sure to visit the cute little garden outside, too!

We went on a sunny Sunday afternoon and was surprised that it wasn't as busy as I had expected.
Probably better to go around the working village after 2pm as we found a few places closed we think it was staff lunch time as we saw people in costume arriving as we moved on. Do try the pasties from the bakery as they were some of the best we had in Stockholm.
It's fairly hilly as Skansen is based around the top of a mound. We used the escalator on the left after we entered to get up the steepest part.
We enjoyed seeing the Nordic animals, but felt that the signs to find the enclosures kept giving us false promises as to how far we had to walk. Typical of all Zoo's not all animals could be found in their enclosures.
The old buildings that had been brought to the site were worth looking at but you couldn't go into the majority of them.
There were activities aimed at kids. An afternoon is not long enough to see everything if like us you ramble slowly and stop enjoy the sights. If I was staying longer or lived in Stockholm I would definitely take up the annual ticket.

The lighting was also good, shaping the artsy atmosphere.

Super cool outdoor museum!
There are old styles of Swedish buildings in a garden and forest type setting. You can go in some of the buildings and see old styles of Swedish furniture and decor.
There are some Scandinavian animals to see as well that are in large forest type enclosures. I’m not a huge fan of zoos or animal preserves but this was enjoyable.
There is a lot of walking involved with getting around the park, most of the park seemed wheelchair accessible. Lots of shade and places to sit as well.
Several restaurants and little gift shops are located inside the park.
Definitely recommend! It’s a unique experience
The museum has some interesting things, but where a lot of museums have interactive parts nowadays, this museum is beautiful but a bit static. The Play-exhibition was okay, and it was nice to try some things out, but some of the information was a bit longwinded. Same for the exhibitions on floor 3 and 4.

Beautiful spot for a museum. The museums cafeteria is breathtaking- lovely view, definitely grab a coffee and snack there after. The locker system is easy and great.

My only complaint is that I thought it would be bigger, it’s much smaller than other modern art museums in other capital cities.

Great morning out :)
The castle is very beautiful. The garden is also beautiful, and it's nice to stroll through it. However, I don't necessarily recommend visiting the interior of the castle. It's not very well-maintained, and most of the furniture is covered. Only one piece is left for display.

Nice layout and at time of visiting the bottom floor was paintings by one artist and top floor were sculptures by another.

The sculptures were not to my personal taste but I imagine if you love your art and don’t find some things pretentious, you will likely enjoy it.

End of the day, people were friendly, there’s a cafe and the price was cheap (£3.50) so the rest comes down to taste.

If you are a history buff, this palace located a short travel away from Stockholm is a must-visit for many reasons. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and still serves the current royal family of Sweden.

The entire area is huge, consisting of the main building, three gardens and some other attractions, so you can spend half a day here if you want to visit everything. We were completionist and covered most of it, including the Chinese Pavilion and the Goth Tower at the outskirts, took hours of walking.

We really enjoyed the experience, as the gardens were tranquil and the palace historical, immersing ourselves in both nature and cultural aspect.

But if you're tight on time, visiting the main palace building is enough.

Do take the guided tour if you're able to, as they provide some additional info into the lives of the kings and queens who lived here. It was quite an informative experience and the price was quite reasonable. Else the info boards are sufficient.

We also recommend taking the boat here, at least for one leg of the journey, for the full experience, else you can reach here via bus. The boat stops just outside the palace and take the meal option too if you're able cause the seating is nicer.

As the royal family is still using this place, quite a number of areas are fenced off, though it was an interesting experience to see royal guards patrolling the space.

There are two eating places here should you decide to get a bite here, though it can be quite crowded. So do be mindful of that.

Overall, the visit was quite enjoyable with the main palace, Chinese Pavilion and the gardens, and we recommend going for the full experience if you have the time.
The palace is beautiful but the gardens and property are the real stars! Perfect place for strolling all day. Don't go to the castle right when the boat arrives, to avoid crowding.
Amazing to think that this much wealth could be concentrated in one family for 500 years through war, property seizure, and going Protestant to stop giving money to Rome.
An interesting gem with tasty food,. although a very limited menu. We had high hopes to try the local wine, but learned the grapes are just for show. Worth a visit.
Visited two exhibitions, one suitable for children (världens spel) and one not (ultras). Nice open areas, plenty of different exhibits offering a range of experiences and varying degrees of interactivity. Cafe was nice, first place we've managed to successfully order in Swedish.

Went there last year and caught the Terry O'Neill and Andy Warhol exhibits.

It is a museum for photo lovers and a must go if you like these types of exhibits.

Was in there for around 2 hours just to be able to see each and every picture and was worthwhile.
Very good museum. Excellent Neolithic and Viking sections. There is also periods right up to 19th century.

Great place, exelent food, great personnel with good wine knowledge well worth a visit
Came here as part of a cruise tour. Went to the theater and palace. Both were very interesting, esp in light of how they decorated. Almost all of the marble and even some of the doors are completely painted. Why you may ask? It was cheaper and they wanted to look rich back in the day. For that fact some this place is worth a visit!
Excellent environment. Everything is well explained and displayed. Student and kids entry is free. Can spend upto 2 hours easily

A beautiful massive garden! It's nice to walk around. Quiet, lots of greens, beautiful garden and palace.
It's a pitty that it rained when we visited, but I'd imagine that this place would be even more beautiful with the Sun and blue sky!
Nice museum with currently very interesting and fact rich exhibition about the Vikings. We enjoyed learned more about the Swedish and neighbouring countries prehistoric period.
A good value experience. Thorough history of Gotenburg and interesting collection of the social evidence through clothing, furniture, paintings and text to give the story.

Really enjoyed seeing the mechanical calculator and the basement display had a magic to it.

Of course the Viking ship was great to see, and surrounded by artifacts and quotes from the sagas.

Very satisfying couple of hours in the museum.
Nothing interesting for adults apart from games exhibitions where you can spend time playing. The Museum has very limited exhibitions and its name is really misleading. Bigger part of space is dedicated to children or families. I’d never pay for getting in.
Very cool sculptures, indoors and (mostly) outdoors. A lot of stairs to go up and down. Take your time, take in the atmosphere. Don’t miss the opportunity to go into the home. The experience is somewhat whether depending. It’s a 5 - 10 minutes walk from Torsvikstorg (no need to wait for the bus).

The entrance was free and the exhibitions were interesting :) Of course as it sometimes happens with modern arts you don’t always understand some artworks but that’s not about the museum, that’s about my personal taste. We saw some awesome photographic works there, there were not many people so the museum tour was comfortable. There is also a nice shop and convenient lockers.
Quaint, functional historical flight museum. Some unique star attractions too for the well informed.

This was one of the few places I had an opportunity to visit in Gothenburg. It met all my expectations, a place to store my backpack which was free, clean bathrooms, and great/informative exhibits. For the viking stuff the designers really tried to construct a dark vibe, which was a nice touch.

The Moderna Museet is indeed a beautiful and renowned museum. Located on the island of Skeppsholmen, it is one of Europe's leading museums for modern and contemporary art.

The museum building itself is quite striking and contemporary in design. It was designed by the Spanish architect Rafael Moneo and opened in 1998. The architecture features a combination of sleek lines, glass facades, and open spaces, which provide a fitting backdrop for the artworks displayed inside.

Inside the Moderna Museet, you can find an impressive collection of modern and contemporary art, including works by prominent Swedish and international artists. The collection spans various artistic mediums, such as painting, sculpture, photography, video art, and installations. It covers significant art movements from the 20th century to the present day, showcasing works by artists like Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dalí, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, and Yayoi Kusama, among others.

You're in Stokholm, just go there !!

For me like for artists person , its really nice museum for spending 3-4 hours , they have only 2 floor but anyway its so nice . Also the idea with box where you can leave your clothes so nice with artists names.
Recommend to visit , they have free entrance for people to18 years old, and for Ukrainian people who have temporary permit card.( Info from 10.06.23) .

One of our favorite in STLM. Amazing place, spectacular viewing from top, you will enjoy the sea, the port , the city and the nature in a whole 360 grad ankle. Different styles could be found in the corners of this open museum. Sculptures, stairs, banks and all plants make this place a wonderful Must-Visit. Both in- and outside parts are attractive in design and decorating. Also a lovely cafe next to the garden.
Parking in the weekend is quite hard even the museum offers public parking slots directly against the entrance.

It is indeed interesting museum for modern art lovers. There were different sections. Take your time to walk around and observe works. For me the part with architecture of Sweden was really interesting.
P.S: It’s free on Fridays from 18:00 to 20:00
Somewhere away from the hustle and bustle of the city, there is a magical garden and a sculptor's house. Carl Milles and his wife Olga bought this place in 1906. They lived and worked there together. And the fruits of their labor can be admired on site. Fascination with nature, sky, sea, astronomy allowed them to create a special garden where we can now sit, drink coffee or eat something. Although there is no shortage of rooms to visit, I recommend visiting this place in the summer. This time it will give us more pleasure;)
Vintage planes with so much history! I enjoyed reading the story behind each one! Very lovely indeed!
I love museum and their cafes. A cafe here was a nice place to hang out. They have everything you need. Food, dessert and drinks. Also the shop is interesting too!

The exhibition was ready just one room but because this is a small version of the Stockholm one so just enjoy it. Talked to the staff their and she shared a lot interesting stories about Malmö city. 💫

What a lovely museum in Västerås. I enjoyed looking at all of the history available with all of the pictures, information and airplanes. There are actually quite a diverse range of airplanes to view. We were able to see the DC3 airplane, it's not always able to be viewed by the public, so we were lucky. Thank you everyone who volunteer there and made it a wonderful experience. I truly enjoyed it and will fondly remember my time there.
Been here last year during holiday, best meatball and salmon we've ever had, very affordable too!
We still talk about how great this place is and would like to come back.
The place is very organised, well thought out, simple and relaxing. If you are just looking for a calm, learn and see new outtakes of culture then you should definitely come here.

But the main star for me was their food buffé. Tasted really well. Fresh and spiced/cooked well. The price was low because I ate aaaalot..
True to its name, we had the chance and pleasure to check out the current exhibition, which is about México, with some absolutely beautiful exhibits. Everything was very nicely presented, so I would definitely recommend this museum. Staff was really welcoming and helpful and besides the museum, I really loved the variety of what's on offer in the museum shop. Last, but not least, the lunch buffet looked amazing!!!

Nice place, delicious food, wine all imported

The place is very elegant and nice to visit. The restaurant food was yummy and staff was helpful.

Please note, we can not buy bottle of wine for take away from here anymore since in Sweden its regulated to buy only from Systemboleget. You can of course sit have some wine there from their menu.
A very nice aviation museum with some very interesting aircrafts. What makes it really outstanding is amazing and passionate enthusiasts working there! We really enjoyed our experience on the simulators. It was close to real experience with ILS approach and instructor giving vectors just like real ATC. Far beyond just playing!
Nice to visit for one time only, limited airplanes to see, and not much to do inside, 10-15min is more enough to stay inside.

Fantastic location with beautiful architecture and interior design. The building is cylindrical, which contributes to its uniqueness. The staff was very friendly and helpful, food was delicious and their barbeque experience was a ton of fun and fast. They also have a very good selection of wines and their prices are humane - especially for their lunches.

I really recommend this place.
Fun place with a lot of planes and simulators for visitors to try. The guide is very knowledgeable. A great place for people who are interested in planes! I gave it a four star only because I’m not a big fan of the subject.
