Heirloom has been my top favorite coffee and tea shop in Raleigh for years! But I just recently discovered their dinner setup.

The service was incredible: perfect first date, valentines, anniversary or just a cozy dinner spot.

The highlight of our night was one of the staff members running out to get tonic to serve us a drink we wanted to try. They really go above and beyond for their customers there.

The food was incredible and carefully selected to entertain your taste buds. The casual dinner we planned turned into an enjoyable experience full of new flavors that made our night!

This place was great! I had the breakfast baguette, and it was honestly the best breakfast sandwich I have had. Their coffee drinks are perfect. I only gave the atmosphere a 4 stars because I'm a big fan of partitioned dining areas, and this one is wide open, mostly because it's a small space in assuming. But I was still able to getting some focus while working on my book. I will definitely be returning!

I visited while in town from the coast for the holidays, and I couldn’t be happier that I did! I’m newly pregnant and met some friends here, so the meal was extra special.

My family and I used to love a place called Humble Pie, and I was thrilled to discover the chef here—it’s clear his talent and creativity haven’t missed a beat. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We ordered several shared plates and one of the main courses, and every dish was thoughtfully crafted, presented, and flavorful. You can tell a lot of care goes into every dish from the blue crab, to the Lao chicken, Brussels, noodles, cabbage dishes and more.

The service was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and very helpful. The environment was warm and welcoming, with a beautiful atmosphere that helped make whole dining experience.

I’ll absolutely be back next time I’m in town. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a memorable dining experience!

Brunch is delicious. A lot of tasty options.

The chicken biscuit is one of a kind. The chicken itself is a standout part of the dish. Crispy, flavorful breading coats the melt in your mouth chicken.

The ice cream in the honey butter toast was heavenly. A beautiful combo.

The Sando was delectable! The softness and thickness of the bread held the papaya slaw and other ingredients well. The papaya slaw works well to balance the bite.

I’ve never had figs infused in my cocktail before. I wasn’t aware how well gin pairs with fig and honey. Nonetheless, it is a drink I’d order again.

Great food. I especially love taking folks here for breakfast if I'm dropping them off at the airport. I highly recommend the chicken porridge. Coffee and drinks are pretty good, and the staff is nice and helpful. The atmosphere here is really great, so this is a mice place to have some coffee and get some work done. They also have sake and beer offerings, which is a nice plus if you visit later in the day.
The food is always amazing, it's a very cute mom and pop taiwanese restaurant that's rare nowadays🙌
Yummy bubble tea options with lightning fast service!

The perfect spot for a quick refreshing drink! My favourite is the Peach Oolong Tea and the Lychee Green Tea with Lychee Jelly.

Went here for breakfast this morning and a place to sit in on a virtual meeting and it was SO fantastic. Cute, clean, and peaceful inside. The person working was really friendly and kind which added to the atmosphere. I got the Lao Fog and it is my new favorite drink ANYWHERE. You must try it! I also got overnight oats with mango and they were the perfect breakfast. I recommend both to start your morning in a wonderfully bright mood. I bought a jar of chilli crisp on my way out as they have some items for purchase as well, perfect for gifts. Just truly a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

The restaurant was clean and open. The interior design is beautiful. Lots of natural light in here that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The food was delicious. They had a pasta with aged parmesan that was perfection but unfortunately was a temporary menu item. The braised crab claws were ok but the flavor wasn't something I was in love with. Crispy shrimp was perfectly crunchy, the dipping sauce with it is SPICY! So be warned! I love that they offer both small and large plates.

Service was quick and good was served hot. The staff checked in regularly to make sure we didn't need anything.

A cute restaurant for your small snack needs or big meals alike.

Best Taiwanese food I have tried!
Frkn Delicious !
Service was great and our server was so sweet.

Putting my name down in the waiting list was the best option. They take reservations. If you go as a walk in, you might be waiting about 1-2 hours, but all worth it

The match milk tea and slush with boba is soo delicious. I might have mistakenly said mango instead but anyways they gave me the mango slush with white boba since they didn’t have regular left and it was so gross I threw it out.

Would have never tried a place like this but TikTok made me do it. The menu is intimidating but thankfully I watched a few videos before arriving. I went with family and 2 of them had been there before. That was also helpful. We ordered a lot of different items off the menu and nothing was disappointing. I put the spicy sauce and spicy mixture on pretty much everything. A total of 7 of us we paid 645.00. We got many items and a total of 13 adult beverages. I highly recommend this place

This place is very good, i don't like that it's located in a shopping mall, we had a party of 7 but online they only allow 6, we made reservations 2 days prior someone told us to come sometime before our 330 reservation and they'd accommodate us. However, once we arrived, they seemed inconvenienced to cater to 7, even though we put it online 2 days prior.
Thankfully, we didn't wait past our reservation time to be seated. We were served by Yanna, who made sure we were well taken care of the entire time of our visit.
The food is AMAZING!! I've never been here nor any place like it. We ordered many things across the board, and nothing disappointed us. The dessert is fabulous, so if you think you only want 1 order double, especially if sharing 😉 for a group of 7 we spent $645 tip included we also ordered 13 alcoholic drinks.

I was so excited to finally try this place out because they are known for the famous Xiao Long Boa and I remember watching an episode where Anthony Bourdain went to in Taiwan and it was amazing! The wait is usually extremely long so I have waited until now. However, I was left so disappointed. We ordered many different versions of their Xiao long bao and what I was looking forward to that thin wrap around a hot pouch of soup with meat stuffing, but that was not the case that day. The wrapper was deliciously thin as known and I loved it. However, the Xiao long bao was barely warm and there was really no soup. Poked the bao to release soup and it was barely a sliver of soup, tired another one -popped the entire thing in my mouth and it was no soup! It was so dry! It was more dry that the cheap stuff I can get at the supermarket! I was so disappointed! The garlic green bean was pretty good, but nothing special. Pretty expensive for the size though.

Overall, I was diaspponted. It was also pretty expensive for mediocre Xiao long bao. Maybe it was just a one off bad experience, maybe it was the location, maybe they have gone down hill since expanding, who knows.

I’ve been to this location several times, however the most recent visit was not how I remember it to be. The service and atmosphere are absolutely top notch, however I must say the food was quite underwhelming. Everything was very bland and almost had no flavor at all. Some may say it is healthier, but to have basically no tongue stimulation is quite disappointing.

As with most other locations, the line was long but we were able to walk around the shops while we waited. Our favorite bites were definitely the spicy wontons and garlic string beans. If you like sweet and mochi texture then definitely get the chocolate Xiao long bao.

I love the fact that this bubble tea shop has food their shrimp tempura is so flaky and delicious. The biggest thing is I only like poppable bubble tea and Viva bubble always has poppable. You don't know how many times I went to a bubble tea shop asked poppable they don't have it so I walk out.
The low down: Bad service, good food. Quality varies. Quantity meh.

Intro: Good Shine has been a staple of Monterey Park aka "Little Taipei" for 4+ decades. The restaurant has endured and changed hands multiple times but the flavor hasn't changed much. Most likely the original owner had good notes.

What happened: Having missed this restaurant since pre-pandemic, I was delighted to see the restaurant still operating. I went to the restaurant hoping to reminisce the good flavor. I ordered 3 dishes (pork fried rice to test the cook's technique, stir fried pork stomach to see if the cook had the right style of knife technique for the ingredients, and finally thick bonito soup with squid.

The pork fried rice was spot on with great wok chi (a flavor and aroma created when oil is cooked at extreme high temperature to stir fry ingredients). The rice was chewy and not jasmine rice which is the correct Taiwanese style. The stir fried pork stomach used sesame oil and ginger which was great but the owner used precut canned bamboo shoots instead of hand cut, and the stomach pieces were cut too thick but the flavor was overall satisfying when eaten with rice. The thick starchy bonito soup with squid smelled and tested correct however was missing cilantro and basil on top and the squid was post processed with fish paste and then cut into small uneven pieces.

I was thinking this is not bad except for the squid soup and reflected to the female owner that the squid pieces were on the scarce side. She strongly defended her dish saying all squid pieces are of equal amount, and she didn't cheat me. Thinking she didn't really see the amount, I wanted show my side of the argument so I took out all the pieces of available squid and put them in a small rice bowl in order to show her it really wasn't a lot. She proceeded to lecture me about the hardship of keeping business afloat and how she is there to make money not charity. Without asking, took my bowl from my table proceeded to show other tables the amount asking them to pass judgement on whether that was fair, before lecturing me again about price vs quantity. Honestly, a sorry but we'll try harder next time or well I'm sorry that's how we present the soup in this restaurant would have suffice. I didn't pay to have a lecture on restaurant economics for 15+ minutes.

5 stars for surviving pandemic, -1 star for wrong squid soup, that would have been it but, -3 star for owner's response and attitude towards a customer. Result: 1 star.

Very nice shop to stop for bubble tea and a quick snack! A very large variety of snacks like popcorn chicken and cheese sticks. Their mango yakult is very well made and you are able to change the sugar level.
I honestly do not think I have had a significantly bad experience here the past 4-5 years since I started going. I have ordered delivery and pick up and sometimes dine-in. Food, drinks, and snacks are always good and they try to accommodate dietary stuff when possible. The one time they made a mistake the manager offered me a gift card so I could replace my meal for no charge (I think it was like $10 total back then). I definitely recommend their bento boxes! They're filling portions that are relatively healthy with veggies and are also super tasty :)

I would give it a five star if there's a restroom available for the customers.

This is a perfect place for pick up. It reminded me of Taiwan a lot with sausages, 鹹酥雞 (popcorn chicken) and bubble teas.

We got a popcorn chicken bento, a hot ginger milk tea, and a regular bubble tea without any sugar. That was great.

The people who worked there were very nice and professional. They were very detail oriented. The ice, sugar, or milk could be customized.

Remember to chew bubbles well. Enjoy

Honestly, I really don’t understand why this place is always crowded. We went at 5pm and had to wait 1 hour to be seated. When we were done, wait was even longer. Food was good but not 1 hour+ wait good. Service was great. Very friendly and professional. Price was little bit on the higher side but reasonable. I don’t think I will be back but it was pleasant experience.
Total hidden gem that I discovered (omg) 20 years ago. I have to say it's the closest you can get to authentic taiwanese food in Los Angeles. You will be sitting among loyal customers that visit at least a few times a week. The lady here is like an old friend and there is just her and the chef. There is usually never a wait and they open late. Check the hours before you go. One of our favorites in LA. Dishes we recommend include Taiwanese fried chicken, stinky tofu, and shrimp fried rice. All the stir fries are good. CASH Only.
First time trying to food from here. It was so good. The service from the man pictured was amazing. He was so friendly and patient as he helped me get through the ordering process. Wish we weren’t from out of state or I’d come here quite often.
First time for me trying the stinky tofu. 😵‍💫

Also got the pork rice burger with a fried egg on the side + an oyster omelette. Very homestyle cooking & we enjoyed it!!

This is by far my favorite boba shop in the area. Nothing but the best ingredients, and nothing artificial. Every time I come in I’m always greeted with warm smiles. Everything is very clean and and very inviting. Thank you again to Abby for my amazing drink and your amazing smile!
I got here and spent a solid 10 minutes looking at the menu, because there's just so much to choose from! I ended up getting myself a honey oolong milk tea with brown sugar wow bubbles and herbal jelly, and it was great, but next time I go I wanna see about trying all the other drinks, and the food too! So many choices, and they all sound delicious! What a treat! 😋

Cute little bubble tea spot in the upper East side kitschy decor -- not super newly renovated and a bit of a cluttered/postered vibe but fun, colorful and friendly. Super fast service today I got my bubble tea in two minutes or unless after payment. 🥤
Fun pop music 🎶, sparkly decor.
The taro is my favorite. I love it with 30% sugar and less ice! 👍
No tables, just standing room and counters plus A bench seat.

The eggs I ate before were very crispy and delicious. Now they are really bad. They are not crispy at all. Compared with happy lemon, they are really bad
The guy that was taking orders had amazing hospitality! The Bubble tea was nice 1st time trying this tea out I was very satisfied I also got some food while we were there I like how it was crunchy but when I took a bite it wasn't done it was partly red and I couldn't ear anymore. My biggest problem was the prices on the menu were different than the prices I paid like my daughter got a 5 piece chicken strip and it said 3 piece was 10 5 piece was 12 but on my receipt I got charged the 12 plus 2 extra for the 5 piece when I was already charged 12 instead of 10 🤷🏾‍♀️ and they did the same with my meal even tho it already had it prices for each size wing meal u pick. I'll return for the tea and hospitality but not the food
I went here for the first time today and would highly recommend. The service was EXTREMELY friendly. I got the spicy chicken sandwich with cheese curds. The chicken was tender, juicy, with a nice heat. The cheese curds were also delicious. I ordered via the app for pickup. I also priced it up via online ordering and it was more expensive (like most places). This will be a go to for me!
First time here and it won’t be my last! I originally was on the hunt for the best chicken sandwich in Lexington when I stumbled across this crispy delicious 🤤 gem! I tried the new “green tea lemonade with mango boba” super fresh and packed with flavor! The chicken is cooked to order so it is also very fresh and tender! I decided to try a Kwa kwa bao.. AMAZING, crispy, and undeniably delicious! Try it all.. don’t worry the staff is very patient and friendly. So order up!

I love ViVi's! I got the Mango Green Tea with Strawberry Popping Bubbles with no ice and regular sugar. It was perfect and the service is great, the fastest I've ever been served boba before, I was so surprised to see my order out so fast!
Came here for a late night weekday dinner, there aren't many late night options in the area, but I'm glad I found Good Shine! It's a really hole-in-the-wall spot, hidden away in a small strip mall with only a handful of tables. The interior feels super dated, but you're definitely not coming here for the decor. Service was super friendly and attentive, felt like your mom or aunt was serving you food. There's a great variety of Taiwanese dishes here, we got the popcorn chicken and Taiwanese beef noodle soup, both were super tasty and filling. Portions are on the smaller side for the price, but the quality was definitely there. Cash only, so make sure you have it on hand! All in all, a great place for a delicious, quick, no-fuss dinner.

I ordered the Spicy chicken teriyaki which tasted great. My group ordered different drinks and we were all happy with the taste and experience. I personally prefer the brown sugar ginger tea (hot) for the winter season.
SOME OF THE JUICIEST, PERFECTLY SPICED AND CRUNCHY CHICKEN I'VE EVER EATEN!

First timer and it was amazing! We were suggested to get the spicy tendies and they were awesome. Clean restaurant and friendly staff.

The boba milk drinks were out of this world! Fresh and absolutely delightful.

Well done, well done 👏🏻👏🏻
Will come back for sure!
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the San Gabriel Valley Area. The owner of the shop is really welcomed and warm-hearted to make sure we would order the correct food as well as would truly enjoy them. Not expensive but delicious of family kind Taiwanese restaurant. Ones might date back to the time of their own family made Chinese cuisine. Minced Meat rice and the fried pop chicken are their famous dishes. Must have a try. Remember that the store is cash only, might be busy on Friday/Saturday night as not too many tables there.Restricted open time plz do check the status before paying a visit.

Love stopping here for the milk tea! Always getting the Assam milk tea with 0 sugar, red bean, and little ice (hot when going in winter). The milk is rich, the flavor is on point, and the drinks are always consistent. The service is usually relatively quick! Plus, who doesn’t love a Instagrammable wall of plushies?

Ordered a large flaming brown sugar milk tea. Usually they have the crunchy caramelised bits but there wasn’t any today. Their popcorn chicken is great but which they had consistent pricing across the stores in midtown and UES. It’s $1 more. $6.9 in UES VS $5.9 in midtown

Update of 19-Jul - my review is always short..and I do not like leave negative feedback here.. since I believe xhit happens and can't really judge them on that.. but this is the first time I have to break that rule.

Since I saw they have table and charging port.. thought it's a good spot for me to camp out.. have a bite before opening up my laptop...

Crispy chicken tenderloins: chicken is very tender! Flavor is good when accompanied with the sauce. Not oily at all. Good portion of rice.

Since it is a taiwanese drink place.. I was hoping/expecting that the food would have taiwanese flavor too... The only thing that I can say it's taiwanese if really the egg.. tea egg is well cooked and well seasoned. Put aside if it's Taiwanese or not, ita a good bento box... for authentic taiwanese bento box.. go to 527 Cafe.. they have good bento box at similar price.

Drink: I ordered Taro Bubble Green Tea Latte - and specifically asked for Tapioca..
In the past the order have always came with tapioca - regular version..
When I went and let them know the Tapioca is on the soft side.. I was told it's Taro Bubble... Not sure what that means.. This also means she gave me the wrong order... I just assumed they ran out of the usual ont and had to sub. I am trying to be flexible. I also don't like any other flavored tapioca so I always call out with Tapioca. If they are not sure, they could have asked.. I was the only one there in the whole store.

based on the staff's attitude, I decided not to engage .. since she is not willing to listen. I did not asking fo a switch, since I am half way through.. I usually don't complain, what is given to me usually I'll take as is, I just want to let them know the feedback... Also for that Taro, it's a smear in there.

The new place across the street has a better taro amount and it's well balance with the tea.

~~~~~~
Bubble - well made, it's chewy like how it suppose to. Anyone complaints meaning they dunno what a true bubble taste like.
Tea - I do like their tea, it's not from powder.
Egg waffle, a must have for my kids. But you gotta have patience.. the waffle maker needs to warm up and then cook the batter... So make sure u have time to wait for it.
I had Qdoba for lunch right before I discovered KFT and TKK Fried Chicken. My husband and I were both extremely sad that we had eaten elsewhere before coming to this place.
I ordered a boba tea for myself and my daughter. I got the green tea milk boba, and I got the Thai milk tea for her. The Thai milk tea was a bit more bitter than we expected. My husband ordered cimmanom sugar sweet potato fries, and loved every bit of it.
We did not get to try the TKK chicken, but the boba and fries were delicious. I was curious about their nata jelly, so the staff gave me a tiny bit to try. The staff here was amazing, and I'm happy to give them a full 5 stars!
We will definitely be back for lunch!
Yay! Finally a Kung Fu Tea in Lexington. My family and I are from NY. So there was literally Kung Fu Tea across the street and down the the next block. When we moved to Lex, it was one of the luxury we missed (LOL). Now that they’re here, we’re so happy they even brought the TKK Chicken because not all KFTs have them.
Everything was great (standard of all Kung fu teas I suppose). Chicken was a bit salty but it pairs well with the boba so I would recommend getting a combo.
The space is always newly done, clean with lots of open space and outlets perfect for students to stop by for a quick bite.
UPDATE: They replied super quickly and helped me to find parking! Super convenient and I like their app for pick up orders. Thanks!
I'm just gonna say this now, if you have a craving for 煎餅, this will not satiate your hunger. It will however taste pretty darn good.
Highly recommend the cumin lamb, basically like putting 串兒 in a rolled up蔥油餅 and eating it like a gyro. It's kinda funny cause this is literally something that Chinese college guys would whip up on the fly when they're lazy and happen to have some frozen 蔥油餅 from Ranch 99, and now it's a popular franchise backed by Jay Chou
I would recommend getting more than one if you're looking to be full. This is more of a snack than a meal. Also, don't be surprised if 25% of the menu is not available when you come in.
Found this place off TikTok! It’s a small hole in the wall with delicious food! I ordered the spicy chicken and my bf ordered the duck crispy roll. We loved them both. The spicy chicken has so much flavor to it and paired perfectly with the crispy roll + to all the non spicy eaters, it wasn’t too spicy. It had the perfect amount of kick to it :)
My roommate found this crispy roll restaurant and we came up all the way from Orange county to try it. The crispy exterior is similar to paratha roti. Lots of layers. Definitely that lives up the namesake...crispy. They cook the pancake in a panini press, but no ridges. So it's cooked at a high temp very evenly on both sides. We got the spicy chicken crispy roll and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. Not too spicy either. It was well balanced with them light mayonnaise and lettuce. There's an option to substitute the regular pancake with green onion pancake for 50¢
Also there's a ton of Jay Chou promo photos and videos of him playing the background. I'm a huge fan so that I thought pretty cool that he's an ambassador for the restaurant. If I went hiking, I would probably bring one of these crispy rolls as my summit snack lol. Really tasty, would recommend to try. Oh, and it's takeout only!
One of my place I missed the most after I moved out of the Evanston!
I can't remember how many times I had been to this place and I didn't care to leave a review when I lived here in Evanston 1 years ago.
Once I stepped my feet back to here, TEAlicious was the first thing that came to my mind.
I ordered my go-to drink which is pineapple yakult green tea with brown sugar tapioca. It's very fruity and has a bit tart from the pineapple, and you can even taste the fiber form the fruit! The sweetness comes from the yakult yogurt and the freshness comes from green tea. IMO, it's the perfect combination out of all yakult drinks. And if you like refreshing drink rather than creamy drinks like milk tea, you should try this.
The popcorn chicken bento is good as usual! It has great amount of meats and the veggies are fresh and crispy. One minor downside is that the rice is not enough to pair with the meats.
Overall, I was impressed that the flavor and quality hasn't changed! I want to visit back already when writing this review 😭
I got two crispy rolls today...TWO!!!
they do not skimp on the protine, the portions are great. I had the lamb and the duck. My body got the kimchi pork and the garlic shrimp. Personally I ate mine but had two botes of the other two and they were all delightful. The veggies and or greens are fresh. And it's well balanced flavor profiles of each were worth the 45 minutes drive I made from the beach just to eat here.
Their bento boxes are tasty and have good portions. I have tried 2 of them which included rice, corn, broccoli and chicken. I ordered teriyaki chicken the 1st time that I went to this place. It was tasty and well cooked. The 2nd time I went there, I ordered popcorn chicken and it was a good as well.
I am very satisfied with each meal that I have eaten there because they are hearty and worth the price.
We went here for early lunch dim sum and waited about 20 min. We ordered crab soup dumplings, pork soup dumpling, pork chop, green beans, kale, cucumbers, spicy won tons, and noodles. Everything was delicious, hit the spot. It was busy, noisy inside restaurant but food came out fast and server was attentive. Clean, modern restaurant with good food.
Serving late-night Taiwanese hawker fare, 'Good Shine' has always been a godsend for those nights when I'm feeling peckish for small bites or just something authentic, unpretentious, and just tastes like home.
They serve everything from staples such as "stinky tofu" (deep-fried fermented tofu) to minced pork over rice. The location is small and many order to-go but if you're inclined to eat in, you can park in the lot shared with other businesses in the plaza (notably a laundromat).
Cash only, so come prepared.
Late night place for Taiwanese food. Stinky tofu (deep fried fermented tofu) is pretty good here. Also had the popcorn chicken as well. Cash only!! Small place, only sit 25 people.
