Great shop that's incredibly well-staffed! Very friendly employees and they're a pleasure to talk to! The place is a bit out of my way, but they're definitely worth checking out. Definitely go for their Drink & Draw or Trade Nights...it's a fun atmosphere!
Great store for all your nerdy needs! They have a wonderful selection of manga and I was very pleased to find a Rengoku figurine for my daughter who loves Demon Slayer at the moment! The prices are a little high but that has been my experience in New York generally.

If you ever in philly and are a collector check them out they have a grear collwction.
Stayed in new york for my honeymoon and went to all the comic books shops around but this is definitely the best comic book shop I've ever stepped foot in, Period. They had everything a comic book nerd could want. If your ever in town and you want spend some money, this is the place to go and shout out to a Mr Rob Battle who was an absolute legend to deal with and made my experience here all the better. Love from Ireland boys 🇮🇪
Well organized, friendly staff - it's upstairs but they do have an elevator if you have trouble with stairs.

There’s a specific manga omnibus I’ve been looking for (for quite some time now) and I finally found it here! Also picked up death note; another note to add to my collection🖤 clerk was friendly and helpful and gave me a recommendation based on what I picked up!! Will definitely return someday ◡̈

Absolutely WONDERFUL! The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful— fantastic selection as well! I was finally able to complete the run I’ve been collecting, and picked up a gorgeous new comic box as well. Seller took the time to fold my box and pack both me and my husband’s comics so carefully and thoughtfully to keep them secure. Couldn’t recommend more :) Large selection of back issues as well!

Buyer Beware! I ordered books online and selected the priority international envelope for shipping to Canada. Midtown stuffed 17 comics into a flimsy cardboard envelope loose with no protection. The package arrived damaged. 8 out of 17 books shipped had major corner dings, creases and spine ticks. When I reached out to Midtown, "Victor Von Deny" offered a 25% in store credit towards my next purchase. When I asked to return the damaged books for a refund, he told me I will get nothing because priority international flat rate shipping to Canada for $31.35 USD is "at buyers risk" even though it does not state this anywhere in the checkout process. I filed a dispute through PayPal. PayPal will be investigating this company. I encourage anyone else who has received damaged books from Midtown Comics, as a result of negligence due to poor packaging, to file a PayPal claim. Multiple claims against this company will have them removed from the PayPal platform. I will never buy from this Midtown Comics ever again.
Midtown Comics Grand Central is the anime and comic store we were searching for in New York. It offers a diverse selection at reasonable prices, making it a fantastic find. The store is well-organized, and the staff is knowledgeable. Whether you're a collector or a newbie, this store is a must-visit for its variety and affordability.

This is the best comic shop I’ve ever been to. The staff is friendly and the vibes are amazing. Definitely an awesome spot for the community
Same layout as their other stores in Time Square and Lexington. But each store has different things but all have the newest comics at least the last 3 released issues are available and easy to find. Not a lot of old or golden age comics. Check this place out if in the area. Staff is friendly. BE CAREFUL CROSSING THE STREET.

Place was empty and buddy bought a few singles. Tried to sit down a completely empty store to play some games, but was told they didn't allow 'open-play'. In an empty shop with empty tables. Another group of friends came here last time and had no issues staying.

I get staff might just have to follow store policy, but I truly fail to see the value of such policies nor the value of being that stingy. There are much better places nearby that deserve your time and business.

Store’s policies aren’t welcoming to open play; go here for their specific events or picking up a couple of things before leaving, but don’t bother coming here otherwise.

I used Konami’s Official Tournament Store (OTS) Locator to find this place. Went in to play Yu-Gi-Oh with friends and hang out. Tables were mostly empty; two of us at our table and three folks playing Magic at the other table. The store had reserved a number of tables for their events so we sat at one without a reserved sign. Half an hour in, a staff member comes over and tells us that they don’t support open play and that all their tables are reserved for event play. It looks like they started a Magic event with just the three folks at the other table while my friend and I were just minding our own business waiting for the other three in our group to arrive. We were getting kicked out with four empty tables, and the staff member suggested that we go play at the library. It would have been understandable if we were in the way of the event and they didn’t have enough room, but that wasn’t the case. They’re free to have whatever policies they want in their store, but as with them being an OTS listed on Konami’s site, one would think they would be more hospitable to Yu-Gi-Oh players (not to say that they should be kicking out any players at all when their store is so empty). It’s really unfortunate; my previous time coming with friends we had a great time playing and weren’t told to go play in the library.

Forbidden planet through out the years has aged gracefully and just gets more and more awesome it has really branched out to having a little of everything. From old school to what’s modern it’s a nice surprise wherever you look.
Have a geeky and/or nerdy loved one and don't know what to give them for their birthday? Bring them here. It has books and toys for young and old. Kinda trendy I guess and needs better lighting. My younger relatives drag me here occasionally. I have gone here not really wanting to go at first but then I saw some nostalgic stuff from when I was a kid and I was ok with it after they bought me something... I'm not gonna say exactly what just LLAP.

Amazing shop with some of the best employees! Everyone so welcoming and knowledgeable and a true LGBTQ friendly shop. A true gem for the neighborhood.
I gave it 4 because I really want the second level to open up again. Maybe it could be an arcade or maybe a viewing area for viewing parties for movies or TV shows or something I don't know but it'll be dope to have that second level / basement open again. Anyway this is my go-to comic book store I love coming here it has both the indie comics and the big name comics also which I find is a really good treat, it also has a section for up-and-coming comic book artists and visual artists. So if you have a comic that you're just starting literally from the ground up, you can come here speak with one of the workers and see if you can get your comic book added in the store to be sold I just think it's really cool anyway come check it out it's a staple and you won't be disappointed if you're a comic book reader.

First time shopper but will be returning- was looking for trades and back issues for a specific series, and Comic Book College's stock was MUCH more comprehensive than larger competitors nearby. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about publication schedules as well; they feel like real heads. As another plus, the store is in an industial building with a loading dock entrance that made me feel like I was going to a rave.
Huge selection of current and back issues of all genres. From Marvel and DC to Archie, from current series to classics, from readable to sealed CGC graded issues - this place has got it all! Comic Book College has an edge over the competition for collectors, because comics is ALL they do. No games, no RPG minis, no ‘regular’ books - just comics. Issues, compendiums, and collector’s editions. There are also vintage and other factory-sealed toys above most of the stacks.

Space is clean and quiet, uncluttered, and very organized. Staff are knowledgeable and recognize one of their own.
Really cool place with a wide selection of cards - some of them licensed and graded. I visited specifically for Pokemon Cards as my son collects them, and they were very helpful and very patient until I figure out what to buy. My son loved the one I got for him!

Store has always been terrible. Lack of respect and attention from store members. They offer pennies for your cards (not even 65%) and try to rip you off blatantly. Imaging coming in with some sought out Pokémon cards and slabs and someone is telling you they are worthless. Immedately went elsewhere
Please support comic store. Massive Comics & collectibles are here. Knowledgeable workers that can help you find what you’re looking. A great place to check out if you’re in the city.
Great lay out of New and Current books. Nice $1 comic selection. Ehile their "back issues" isn't the largest selection, they have the best group deal and I was able to close some gaps in my collection. Definitely visit them first before back issue hunting in Philly.

Have gone here for some time and never had an issue until the Lorcana pre-release. All the employees seemed that they had better things to do than help anyone. They were consistently short with not only me but other customers as well. All around just a poor experience, very dissapointing for a normally well done/run shop.
A fantastic comic book shop on South street. I took pictures of the arcade machines, because, out of everything that could be bought at that shop. I want those arcade machines.

And I'm going to call for it. Don't try to outbid me, because I will lose.

My friend, “Boom” is the Security Ambassador at the shop and is always kind and welcoming, Boom and the Whole crew at Wynwood Walls make it one of these Premier places to see when going to Miami! For Me, whenever I’m in Miami, I always have to make my pilgrimage and stop and stroll through probably one of my most favorite places on the planet! Thank you to the Goldmans for making this place one of the Greatest places to me on Earth! I Love You Wynwood!🥲🥰

I coordinated a scavenger hunt of sorts for one of my bestest friends. For her bday I wanted to focus on all the things she loves most COMICS being one of them. After searching through many different locations most of which I didn’t even know existed in Brooklyn I found Anyone Comics. Everything I seen online led me to believe I made the right choice but when I called and spoke with the staff I was sure of it. They were kind and excited to be apart of my plan. The shorter version is she was SO HAPPY! Got some really good stuff took some really cool pictures. S/o to Thadd for your help with her selections. Oo did I mention I’m doing all this coordinating from another state? I appreciate the staff at Anyone Comics. Thanks for helping to make her birthday a memorable one!

Best comic store in the area. Massive collection of trades spread thru the store. All new comics on offer are generally available no matter how niche or deep into the previews catalog. You are almost guaranteed to find an issue you are looking for. And best of all, it's a comic shop, and not a crowded event space that also sells comics.

Very rude staff. Tiny store with tiny selection. Don't bother. The store hours are not what's posted. They're open when they feel like it. I sent a very polite email asking about the hours and the guy tried to make me feel like an idiot just for asking about the store hours and how they're closed when they say they're open. Shop somewhere else. There's a great place on the LES and one on Fordham in the Bronx that GINORMOUS
This place is amazing. They're always freshly updated with most of all the new comics. They have some amazing gems on the wall. The pricing is great , and if you want something really expensive, they got it, and if you're looking for something on a low budget, they got it. The 2nd floor is a must see, that's where all the toy/statue-collectables are, and you'll be amazed. Staff is iight, depending on the day and who you get. Some are really cool though.
I had a great experience at this store. They have fair prices and also give away tins and dice for free. Staff were helpful and friendly. Great selection of magic cards, but lacking on the pokemon side.
Seriously???? You gonna charge $12 per adult to see walls and a bunch of stoner art? Don’t come here unless you’re seriously high folks… only in America…

Rick was so helpful and nice with everything. He took the time to help me look for everything I was looking for, and even explained everything to me; a true passion for comic books. Was able to find a true variety of comics, and even some manga as well! Thanks again!
Very bad treatment of customers. Went there to sell a nice little collection of Pokemon trading cards. First I was offered around 50c per card, then an employee figured out that some of them are worth some money (which I knew). She was taking pictures, calling somebody, talking on the phone for 20 minutes. After 20 min, another employee came, probably from his lunch break, still with a sandwich and a drink in his hands, along with crumbs in his beard and on his shirt. He then asked about the price for my collection, and he didn’t want to offer anything. When I told them I’m open for an offer, they just gave me a stare, and told me they’re gonna pass. Very, very rude, they even wanted to escort me out by showing me the exit, just to get rid of me. Avoid any bussiness with these charlatans. That’s 30 minutes of my life I’m not getting back… shameful treatment.

Go for Friday night Magic: The Gathering.
Cool small store with indie comics as well as mainstream titles. Employees are very cool.
Give old school comic store vibes. Folks hang out and chat with the counter person about comics and culture and everything else. Can find a new title to get into very easily.
Positive place for positive people.
Glad to have found it!
What a great comic book shop. Perfect balance of comics and figurines. Some t-shirts and stuff too. Prices are fair. A place for a true fanatic as well as a passing fan. They even have some open box and used figurines as well.

Gamers delight. Graphic novels haven—Knick-knack collector's den.

What to see/buy: card/fantasy/role-playing games and decks galore, funko pops, toys, TV and iconic movie merchandise, books, and graphic novels/comics.
A great place for comics and graphic novels with lots in stock. Far superior to the famous Strand bookstore (which is next door). I took advantage of their sale section. The employees were friendly and seemed to work there because they loved it.

My friends and I (3 of us) were looking around in the shop; we thought it was nice and my friends were looking into buying but I wasn't feeling it, so I was just browsing. I said to my friends "i'm not here to buy anything" and the owner said to me "so you're jobless and taking up space in my shop, using my air conditioning?"

I told him off, and my friends and I left without buying anything; but after a few seconds, the owner started chasing us down the street. We are three girls, and this man was chasing us. Terrifying. Do not shop here.

Just sold 5 binders of Yugioh cards and like 8 decks to this shop, they looked at everything did the research and offered a completely fair price the other shop in town didnt even bother to look at anything except the outside of the pile and said insultingly $ 100 yeah like i wanna throw away thousands of cards and let myself be scammed! The only fair shop for collectors items coins Yugioh cards and more The Coin Guy go here first, go here last you wont regret it!
This is one of the better options for a comic shop in Manhattan! Small shop but they manage to have a really interesting stock of back issues. I've found recent back issues here that I've struggled to find other places. They also have plenty of older comics from the 90s, 80s, 70s, and possibly even some older ones. Plenty of trade paperbacks and hardcover graphic novels too.
Still waiting for my package, nobody answer the phone, nobody answer the mails, I have all ready pay for my shop and dindt even send de package.
If you happen to be even a 1% comic book fan, this is a must see place to visit in newyork.

This haven of comic books can make a any comic book fan blush. There is a plethora of collection but some classics are missing and the store runners can help you find them for you.

One thing I loved the most is the people were enthusiastic and were discussing on comic books, that elevated my experience there.

(Continuing my conversation from the store - I think saiyans are the most powerful ;) )
Always a pleasure to visit Midtown Comics! Great selections and easy to find with attentive staff. We usually get a few titles and a trade for the train ride back home.

Just like any place that has lots of expensive figures, it does get uncomfortable noticing staff hovering over customers while making sure no one is taking anything. I understand the need to protect the merchandise but I did notice that younger Black teens were being watched more closely than other customers were on the 2nd floor. I'm not posting for anyone to get fired, it's something that can be improved for a better experience for everyone.

Awesome place for new comics, toys, statues and most importantly, BACK ISSUE BINS AND 99 CENT BINS. Two huge floors, friendly staff. BEST COMIC SHOP IN NYC!!! I love the guys here! The staff is what makes this place so special. I’ve been coming here for years now, the guys who work here know me, know what I like and are always welcoming and friendly. They go out of their way to get special orders, back issues and do what they can for their customers. It makes me happy to have such a great place in the neighborhood where I live. Found some new manga. Highly recommend! Nice selection. Cute games (bought two card games). Snacks too.
If you like cats, buy this book!
Even if you don’t go into the Wynwood walls exposition, just going to the store is worth it. They have such a great selection of books related to both art and fashion, they have all the tools for artists, colouring books, stickers, even some great quality apparel. The staff is really friendly as well!
I was visiting Philadelphia for one day and decided to check out the best manga/comic store here that I heard about. They have entire wall dedicated to manga, most of the volumes that are currently in-stock elsewhere you can find here, along with new releases from viz ( MHA, Mashle). They have quite a bit of works from Inio Asano, Naoki Urasawa, Rumiko Takahashi. Most of shounen titles like JJK, MHA, kaiju no 8.some volumes of older titles like Bleach, one piece are there too. As well as partial collection of shoujo titles like princess jellyfish, nana, kimi ni todoke etc. They have few art books at the last shelf, as well as few lgbtq+ mangas in the back. End note: I was happy with the collection but disappointed by the fact I didn't get any deals or sales so I can buy under retail price, which I was expecting for some reason without knowing beforehand.

Cool selection, weird atmosphere. Walked in on Sunday 03/19/23 aprox 06:00PM. Had a tall thin rocker looking male employee follow my 6 yearold son & I all around the store, everytime I turned around he was standing no less than three feet away from us pretending to shop. I thought it may have been coincidental, considering how small the store was. NOPE! not a chance. Purposely walked all the way to the back of the store & guess who was right behind us… Even as we approached the exit he made sure to follow behind. We didn’t bother to spend a single dollar.

“ Go where you’re celebrated” .
Awesome selection of old and new video games. Friendly staff and just a really nice place overall. We need more shops like this one. Good prices also

This is a phenomenal store with back issues and tons of new subscriptions comics. Banger variants and old bronze silver age book up high. This is a shop that you can spend some time in the stacks looking for the “good stuff.”

They were super helpful and led me right to the areas where the titles I needed would be.

Check em out!
This shop is 2 stories and packed full of comic related things! They have comic books, figures, posters, funko pops, magic cards, dice and just so much more! You could easily lose some time in here just exploring each nook and cranny of the shop. There are so many nice associates hanging out to help you, give guidance and restocking the store. They are very approachable and don't make you feel like you are bothering them with questions!

The owner, Greg, personally helped me find the perfect gift. He was thorough, VERY patient and didn't try to sell me on just anything. Fantastic place, a really great one stop shop for all kinds of hobbies from retro consoles, games and accessories to Warhammer, Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, board games, dice, comics and so much more. I was impressed over and over. It's 45 minutes from my home but I'm already planning to visit again. The open tables are amazing, spacious and plentiful. The staff is friendly and attentive and the pricing is very fair. It's a great place to buy or sell magic singles and very very novice friendly. I am so glad I stopped in!
There are better shops out there… TCG prices are extremely overpriced. All they have is a wide variety. For example I just purchased a mtg bundle there that was $20 over the tcg player market price. I even tried to bargain with them to change the price according to TCG player prices but they were rude and said no. I still bought it though because I really wanted it and I went all the out out to here to get it. It isn’t a card shop I would go to often unless you want to drain your wallet quickly. Go there for older sets because that’s what they have. Variety is the only reason why I gave them 2 stars. Edited in: Also, I wouldn’t trust them so much because Im almost certain that they tamper with some of their overpriced products as shown in the pictures. I was skeptical when I bought it. 👎 Honestly might test for fingerprints too just in case. So disappointed in you guys. I opened the pack and it was funny how obvious it was that they glued it together. AND guess what, NO hits. As much as I don’t want to say it, I have to warn people that this place is a joke and a scam. Never going back, not worth it. PLEASE take my advice. For those of you looking for comics I have no idea about those. Sorry. Just be careful with purchases for Magic, Pokemon, and Yugioh here. The only thing that’s trustworthy are their singles in their display. I was able to feel the quality of the card and the prices are more reasonable for singles. DO NOT buy sealed products here. Trust me on this. There are many other LGS stores you can spend your money at while feeling better about your purchase. It’s kind of sad. I used to go here a lot. I’ve noticed how lots of stores resorted to this type of practice. AND it was all. Because. Of. COVID. I’m sorry but I can’t trust you guys anymore.

Good store. My good friend Bill known as the boss of Anime Castle works there and Mrs, bill wife too. Hope they got a lot of Dragon Ball stuff for me when ever I come back to New York or if they come for Animazment in Raleigh,NC.

very friendly staff service. Prices inflated several times if you are a connoisseur and know the prices of comic books. However, as for NY, the prices are similar. I highly recommend!

I stumbled upon this little hidden gem the other day. What a great comic shop! Clean, organized, well laid out. They packed so much into their small space, but it doesn't feel crammed! They have tons of comics and collectibles, and the youg man who was working that day was very knowledgeable, passionate, and helpful. I usually check out Midtown or Forbidden Planet when I'm in NYC, but I will def go back to JHU!

Nice shop with really interesting artwork
This place is awesome! As someone who lives in Chicago I had to make this a stop on my New York trip. Great selection and fantastic staff! Had a nice chat on AEW with the staff. I'll be coming back next time! 5 stars.

Awesome! Great prices, good selection of comics, and very nice staff. They have a lot of different comics, some Funko Pop, and some TCG like Pokemon/Magic. It’s a small shop but there’s a lot in there and it’s fun to look through everything. The prices are better than what you can find online and we found some awesome deals. The guy behind the counter was super nice and gave a discount cause we bought so much. Will definitely be back and highly suggest coming here.

Seems like a really solid place, very authentic and not just the super mainstream stuff. Fine prices, good selection. Parking is not the easiest but I found some street parking a few blocks away. The staff seemed kind and helpful. We will be back.

An unassuming but fantastically stocked comic and hobby shop not too far off from Flushing’s bustling Main Street.
I could not believe how many nostalgic manga I came across at this shop... all in excellent conditions and fairly priced. A lot of the manga were discounted, and some quite heavily. I managed to snag some of my favorite titles at a 3 for $10 price point! Score!
There were also many vintage figurines which took all of my energy to leave behind (lol).
I would recommend this to any anime/manga fan old and new!

the shop was clean and nice. no information displayed about the various tours except a sign outside said mon-fri. representative was efficient but not terribly friendly/welcoming. it was ok. the walls around the store in the neighborhood were awesome.

I went there by car last Saturday evening and found free street parking down the block. The shopkeeper, I think his name is Dmitri, was friendly and saw that I was looking at back issues. He recommended a monthly event at the store, every Monday evening, when people can bring in books and trade with one another. He was very nice. I also observed him chatting with other customers and making recommendations. I saw some kids coming up from the basement after playing, I think, Magic. It seemed like a really friendly place, very kid-friendly, LGBQTA friendly. I wish there had been a bigger back issue selection, but there were plenty of modern stuff to choose from. The wall books seemed priced right. Overall, it was a nice place.

Update, 8/2/2020 - they had a comic swap! How cool is that? Super fun and awesome!

You're going to find a little bit of everything, here. From current manga runs to highly sought-after out-of-print hardcovers. There is a kid's section, new releases (weekly, unless stated otherwise, and a LQBTQIA+ section, too.

There is also a large selection of funko pops, posters, graded vintage comics for sale, action figures and figurines, as well. You'll find card holders and a section for Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon, and Magic The Gathering, upfront.
