The food was SO good and the “server” was very, very nice. Really fun little place. Played samurai movies and also had good music & vibe. You should go!

A standard ramen and sushi place. Taste was good but could be more flavorful.
Sake tasted great but was unusually hot.
Chicken wasn’t cooked well, and the way it was added to the ramen did not work with the overall consistency of the dish. Sushi was well prepared.
Service was a bit rushed, may be because it was end of day for them.

Such a cool hidden gem! Speakeasy vibes type Asian fusion bar/restaurant - very limited seating, you waitlist at the door (we waited 30-40min for 3 people on weekend night) - you stand at the bar to order then get seated when your wait time is up. Gyoza was very good and loved the shochu! Definitely pricey but worth a visit.

The foods here were very good and so delicious. Me and my friends were enjoying the foods here. However, when we finished the food and ask for the bill, we asked a staff to split the bill and tried to explain how much each person should pay, but the way how that staff talked to us was VERY RUDE AND SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS ANNOYED. Me and my friends had different amounts to pay, we wanted to be clear and explain to the staff how much each of us should pay. So, we were explaining about it but the staff was just not listening to us and even cut us off and even kinda shouting to us like “STAY THERE”. At this point, we were so disappointed and decided not to give him any tips. After that, we could hear that all the staffs were talking and gossiping about us and keep being so rude to us.
Even though the foods were so nice, we couldn’t enjoy the restaurant enough because of that rude attitude.

Food was great! I got the omu soba and frozen mirin beer for myself and my boyfriend got the chicken katsu. We shared the kani cream croquettes and a chikaten roll. So much food, but we devoured it all.

I've never eaten at the restaurant, but order takeout from time to time. Extremely high quality and delicious. Sushi, other food, and sake and beer are primo 👌. Soo yummy. Thank you for the yummy food. 😋

First time there. My daughter suggested it. She took Japanese in high school. A little on the small side with a lot of decor. Server was really nice. Food options was very interesting. I basically had chicken and ramen noodles. With lettuce. The chicken could have been cooked a little longer. But a good place to try.

Authentic, delicious Japanese food with 5-star service to match. This spot is truly a gem and my only regret is that it took me so long to come here! This will definitely be a staple for me and reminds me of all the food I grew up eating at home.
Udon noodles are fresh, salmon onigiri (rice ball) hit the spot, my husband loved his katsu curry and my picky-eater son is a chicken karaage connoisseur - he loved the karaage here.

If you're looking for quality authentic homey, comforting Japanese cuisine and aren't in a rush, this is the place to go. They're always busy and the service isn't the quickest, but the delicious food definitely makes up for it and I love the lively environment. I recommend trying the curry - I think it's the best in the convoy area!

Overall good dinner experience. Really liked the vibe and variety of food options. The uni bowl had a ton of ikura and plenty of nori to wrap the rice and hamachi collar was very good. The oysters and chicken Karage was average. We also ordered udon noodles and unagi bowl which were also good but not very memorable.

This is a real catch of a place to eat. Great food, not too bad prices (for Manhattan!) and a real quirky atmosphere.
Highly recommend the deep fried oysters, and the plate of salmon oshi sushi (pictured) was amazing.
Happy hour offers a few drinks for cheaper, sake is $6 for a small bottle, and Sapporo lager was $5 and really nice and fresh.
Staff are friendly and attentive.. second visit says everything.. will go again. Thank you.

My husband has been talking about their poppers for years. We finally made it in, and he was right. The poppers are delicious. The sushi, however, was a little lackluster. It definitely didn't seem as fresh as it could've been. The avocado, for instance - you can see that it's already mushy and browning.
The restrooms had some great features, but I unfortunately didn't get to enjoy them due to the foul smell and dirty conditions. We arrived just after they opened for dinner service, so I can't really justify the condition of the bathrooms by saying customers had trashed it all afternoon. Everything should've been fresh and clean right after opening.
The poppers were fantastic, but I don't think we will be back. My husband agreed, it was a little disappointing.

This is a cute little cozy Japanese restaurant tucked away on Convoy Street. Food is delicious and authentic. We came here on a weekday and had a 10-15 minutes wait, but it was so worth it. We were seated fairly quickly and the staff was attentive. Staff was also busy taking sake shot offered by the customers- a recognized way to show gratitude to your server/bartender instead of tipping. It was my first time witnessing it and I loved it. Food was delicious. Highly recommend chirashi don and okonomiyaki! Will definitely come again!

Some of the best quality sashimi and torro I've had in the North Dallas area. I went in for the ramen, and it was great, but not quite as good as my favorite ramen place in the area. This place is sushi focused, and a decent bowl of miso is on the back of the menu for a reason. The torro and salmon belly won me over instantly! So fresh, clean, and well prepared. I asked for real wasabi, and they brought it right away. The guy behind the bar noticed my appreciation and even brought me a pickled wasabi root as well.

where was I the whole times in LA not knowing this place.
omakase bowl: MUST TRY. i thought it would be bleh bleh like the overall sushi scene in LA but this one is SO GOOD. fresh, no funky smell, lightly seasoned so it doesn’t taste blanc but not overpowering. this is a good alternate for Tokyo Tsujihan. you have the option to wrap the donburi in nori to make your own handroll. hand down the best nori.
toro with uni: the 2 most fatty fishes combined, result is BOMB!!!
ankimo sushi: CREAMY ankimo melts in your mouth and explodes with flavor.
Food: 💛💛💛💛💛
Service: 💛
Atmosphere: 💛💛💛💛
Service is BAD. Almost all the waiters look like they HATE their job and HATE the customers. No patient when taking order. Give us “the look”. Note that im not the type that needs constant checkin nor taking a lifetime to order.
Note: they have another place closed by serving omakase ONLY. we went to the izakaya one.

I went there on Wednesday with some friends and family and the food was delicious, especially the Okonomiyaki. The atmosphere was lovely and our server was very nice to us. We will definitely be back! (Also, the shrimp tempura was very good!) (Also, I went here back in March of last year with some family and friends, and the food and atmosphere were very nice and lovely, and our server was very nice to us!)

Pretty cool little place. The pork gyoza was okay- but I’m pretty picky with my gyozas. Their tsukemen was lukewarm which is fine cause I know every place does it their own way, but it started getting addicting towards the end cause of the numbing spice that I tasted. They add 18% gratuity automatically which they mentioned at the end.
Found street parking for an hour but the food and everything came out pretty fast.

Came here for lunch with a group of 7 on a Thursday and was able to be seated immediately. I'm so surprised this place isn't more crowded because the food was amazing. While they offer some sushi rolls, I say skip them and go for the other meal items. We shared the fried chicken was tender and seasoned well, not super spicy which was appreciated. The salmon bowl was fresh and filling, but the main event was the eel. For $25 you get a platter of 5-6 pieces of eel over rice which was just melt in your mouth good, soup, salad, little sides and a broth you can pour over the eel and rice. It really was a steal and you will walk out full. The waiter came over at the end with some much needed complimentary hot green tea which was much appreciated and needed to help digest all the good food.

Cool & casual spot for a late night drink and/or a bite. The takoyaki, tuna tataki, and sushi were enjoyable enough, but this style of mentaiko pasta was a little too heavy on the kewpie mayo for my liking.

A great place for family or friend gathering! Every dish was so flavorful and tasty. You pretty much can just order off my photos. These are authentic Taiwanese cuisine that you won’t find in any other restaurant in DFW area. Definitely worth of 50 minutes drive to dine here.

Came here during brunch time with my friends. We ordered two sushi rolls, unagi rice bowl, kimchi cream udon, kaarage, shrimp shumai and a hamburg set for me!
My friends all said that their dishes were super good. We shared the karaage with the table and it was hot and crunchy, wish it came with a sauce though! The shrimp shumai was okay, not mind blowing but just good for what it is. I didn’t try my friend’s dish’s but my hamburg set was super good! I love the tomato sauce that it came with and it was a large portion. The side dishes that my set came with were good too! Along with the price being on the cheaper price for brunch, I would come back here again. Super affordable!

Average and overpriced Japanese cuisine, Sea urchin not the freshest for I got 5 meager pieces for $48. Furthermore , the rice tasted sour. Better places out there for the price and services

Always great food and service when we’re here. This is our favorite ramen spot. Been coming here frequently for the past year. The food comes out fast and hot. The broth is rich and tasty and chashu is cooked to perfection. The pork buns are the best I’ve ever had, and the sauce that is served on them makes them so delicious. Service is very attentive to your table and top tier. Shu is the best server! We always get the classic Tenho ramen and the Hokkaido ramen.

We hit up Izakaya MEW at 5 pm, and even though there was a line when they opened, we got seated right away. The vibe was on point, with 90s hip-hop and perfect lighting. It felt like a house party, but instead, we were treated to an amazing meal. The staff was super friendly and attentive. We tried their frozen beer, volcano roll, kimchi udon, and tantan men – all seriously delicious! I highly recommend this spot! 🍣🍜🍻

This was my second time going to Tenho with my friends. This time though we specifically came into the city just to eat here. I am by no means an expert and my experience is very limited but this has been by far the best Ramen I've ever had. My friends and I found Tenho completely by accident last Saint Patrick's day as we stumbled down 3rd Ave after having some beers at McSorley’s. I will be forever grateful we didn't stop at any of the other restaurants on the way and "settled" for Tenho.

We love coming here and always come right when they open at 5pm because this place gets crowded.
We ordered:
-Chicken karaage - juicy thigh meat
-Sukiyaki udon- when I crave for udon, I come here. The broth is so beefy and lots of tender fatty thin meats. It’s so rich in flavors.
-Takoyaki - I like that this is on the smaller side because it’s less wheat flour and more octopus.
-Fried meatloaf curry entree - It comes with miso soup and salad. The miso soup is so good. We got spice level 8 for the curry which had a tiny kick.
The parking lot is super tight and small that people park on the street. Another reason why we come early is to get a parking spot.

We come from Connecticut frequently just to eat here, This is by far the best ramen i’ve ever had and it has the “hole in the wall” atmosphere of a nice family run small business. Manuel won’t let your water get below half empty before he immediately fills it back up for you. genuinely great food and great staff.

I went to Sake bar Hagi last Tuesday. That's fun time to find the new spot of the Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere inside was cool. They decorated their restaurant with Japanese comics and they got nice stuff from Japan to make you feel like you have a drink after you finish work in Japan.
They also got the arcade game in front of the restroom.
For the food is little bit high sodium in everything. But the waitress told me that their chef went on vacation so the temporary chef but overall is great. Just highly recommend you to told your waitress when you order for low sodium food and you should be okay. We also have the unagi don which if I forgot to take a photo. That's awesome dish too.
If you looking for something to drink after work in Manhattan. This place is not the bad idea.

Came to this place for lunch with about 6 coworkers around 11:45a, which was perfect because the lunch rush gets crazyyyy & you'll have to wait to be seated. To start the vibe was good and not gonna lie it felt kinda like a club in the middle of the day with the low lighting & music they had playing. They played a lot of Post Malone lol! Now for the Food, I ended up getting the gyoza to start which I enjoyed, but wish I has more of the sauce that comes on the side because I like saucy things and in every bite, but they were yummy. For my entree, I got the Tantan men Ramen, which was good and not too spicy. I'm rating them a 4 star because I honestly was hoping to have some Chicken Teriyaki, but it wasn't on the menu at all, which I thought was interesting. Overall, the service was good, the food came out as they were ready vs. waiting for everyone plate to be served at the same time....I would definitely consider coming back. I just wish they had more chicken options.

Amazing find and likely my new favorite spot for Japanese food. I was craving both sashimi and curry, and found this spot to try.
What surprised me was the quaint homely vibe of the place. The opening and closing of the restaurant door honestly transported me to family run Japanese places from when i visited Japan.
The second thing that surprised me was each dinner entree came with multiple small plates that were different depending on the entree but seemed to match exactly (fried tofu with salmon bowl and lighter salad for the chicken katsu curry). The sides weren’t mentioned on the menu so it was a pleasant surprise.
The food more than satisfied my sashimi and japanese curry craving. I will certainly be back.

I went to a work dinner here and it was good for being a midtown restaurant. It’s right across from the Gershwin Theater (currently playing Wicked). The menu is HUGE! Lots and lots to offer. We had edemame, spicy tuna roll, tempura platter, Yaki Udon and Ramen. Everything was good and the beer was cold. The staff was attentive and the everything was very clean. They even have a pac man machine in the area by the bathrooms! Definitely a fun spot worth a try!

Maybe the name is not completely on target since they have a lot more tasty food than just gyoza. Tsukemen was delicious with snappy noodles and a refreshing creamy broth. Cold tofu was also very good with it's bright fruity dressing. Gyozas are top notch. It's a take out window or if you want to eat indoors, there is almost like a speakeasy bar inside with a very cool atmosphere. Feels like a small bar in Japan. Friendly service too! If you go for lunch (until 4pm), some items are cheaper. $25 for lunch and I was full. Soon they will have ramen too. Can't wait to try .

Cheap and good. The restaurant is pretty small and cozy. The service was good, food took an adequate amount of time. Overall it was a real overly above average sushi experience.

A causal fun spot to hang out with good eats. Very energetic vibe with loud music, and service was good too.
My friend and I tried the Mushroom Kakiage (tempura), Tan Shio (grilled beef tongue), Hamachi Kamayaki (grilled yellowtail collar), and Kurobuta Pork Udon. Everything was tasty and in good portion for the price.
Reservation is strongly recommended as this place gets busy and fill up fast.

Been here a couple of times with an old Japanese co worker (he is also old, and is from Japan). The food is pretty basic, standard Japanese food. Nothing fancy. My coworker says it reminds him of home. Interior is very tired, but the prices are competitive and the service is fast and the people are nice. This is a workweek lunch spot, not a place to take a date.

My husband loves Japanese culture, so I took him here for his birthday dinner. It did not disappoint! The atmosphere was lovely, the waiter was nice, and the food was excellent, especially the Okonomiyaki. We will be back!

I recently dined at this Japanese tapas restaurant, and I can't stop raving about it! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away by the incredible food and the charming, rustic atmosphere.
The food here is nothing short of amazing. Each dish I tried was bursting with flavor and expertly crafted. The variety of Japanese tapas offered on their menu is truly impressive, and it's evident that the chefs take great pride in their culinary creations. Whether you're a sushi lover or prefer hot dishes, this place has something to satisfy every palate.
One thing to note is that the restaurant is a bit tricky to find from the front. It's almost like a hidden gem tucked away, but once you discover it, you'll be rewarded with a dining experience like no other. So, keep your eyes peeled as you approach.
The rustic feel of the restaurant adds to its charm. It's a cozy and intimate setting, perfect for a date night or a special dinner with friends and family. The ambiance really enhances the overall dining experience.
I highly recommend giving this Japanese tapas restaurant a try. The outstanding food, coupled with the rustic atmosphere, makes it a must-visit spot for anyone who appreciates Japanese cuisine. Just remember to look carefully for the entrance—it's well worth the effort to find this hidden gem.

Delicious and cheap. Love coming here. They have a great array of foods and I pretty much have my favorite order saved in my phone at this point. ❤️ Ku sushi

Tenho Ramen is officially my favorite ramen spot in the city, to the point that I find it hard to enjoy ramen at many other places now. After living in Japan for 2 years I knew it would be difficult to find great Japanese ramen in the USA, but Tenho has graciously alleviated that issue for me with their wonderful menu. They have a good mix of traditional and non-traditional ramen bowls (try the Spicy Tomato Ramen if you're feeling experimental), and all of them transport my mind to my usual ramen spots from my time in Japan. The ramen here is very rich and hearty, so even the biggest eaters will find themselves quite satisfied by just one bowl, and most people I've gone with struggle to finish even that. Literally all of their cocktails are tasteful, delicious, and pack a good kick, and the sake selection is very well curated. Last but not least, the staff is just amazing! The table service is prompt and efficient, the staff is all very familiar with the entire menu, and they are great at tailoring the experience to whatever social vibe you need at the time.
TLDR: Tenho Ramen is one of the most authentic and delicious ramen experiences in the city and even just one meal there will make it difficult for you to take most other ramen spots in the city seriously.

I'd like to say that I've been wanting to come here for a loooong time. Everytime I drive towards the midtown tunnel I've been seeing this place for years. My expectations being a foodie wasn't too high since they didn't seem like a high end shop. However, there is a standard to things I expect. Here's my thoughts:
Ordered: 2 beers, takowasa, cucumber tataki, chasu pork bun, tenho kureme ramen and spicy ramen.
The 2 beers were the best things we ordered. The takowasa never came and we had to order it again. However when it came it should have been called just tako-NOwasa. There was literally no wasabi flavor at all. This + the cucumber was scooped out of a bucket premade. The cucumber dish smelled nice but when we tasted it, it was an overwhelming flavor of just the sesame oil and nothing else. Very bland. Even the chasu pork bun was salty af and the cut isn't the normal compared to any other ramen place I've been to.
Now the ramen itself... My soup broth was thick and oily. The noodles were not Japanese noodles and it didn't come with an egg! This was a $3 up charge! Lol. Now here's the kicker. My gf ordered the spicy ramen. Up to spice level 2 it was free. Spice level 3 was an up charge of $2 and level 4 was $3!! WHO DOES THAT?! Even the spice itself wasn't a Japanese ramen spice.
Very sad, shed a tear cause I've been waiting to try this place. The people were pretty nice but that is not enough for me to want to come back here.

Great sushi and sashimi. Great place for a date, me and my girlfriend go all the time if you're in the Los Angeles area.presentation is amazing. And if your leaving from inside, the sushi chefs all say goodbye. Amazing place, only downside is the parking but it's worth it.

Worst service ever!!!
RUDE
RACISM
IGNORANT
NOT TEAM ORIENTED
The moment we walked in here the employees gave us a weird look but we did t take it personal. We assumed they were busy.
What got us upset was when They took care of the people who came “after” us. (These people were Asian) “we were Latin”
Secondly
They took 30min or more to take our order. And took them almost 1 hour to bring our food .
Next when we asked for our receipt they took another 30min to drop it at our table. Plus they kept speaking their own language.
Then we were kind enough to leave tips. Once we’re walking outside THE FEMALE SERVER ran to say we didn’t leave enough money when WE PAID WITH $100 bill.
This was very humiliating and rude. From their side.
We told the lady “ I’m sure you have cameras please check we paid with $100 bill . Then the male server comes out to tell the lady who chased us outside the restaurant that We DID Pay $100 bill
I feel that this was a racism issue and I don’t ever wish to be back here. Neither do I recommend anyone here.

The food is fine for tea time chatting with friends since it's light. But for lunch this can barely get you 70% full.
The soup cools down quickly after a few dips with the noodles, and tastes inharmony with the temperature half warm and half cold.
The staff seems like they are in a hurry to close the restaurant at 2:30pm, cause they really give me the check when I'm still eating my food when there's like no other customers there waiting at all. FOR TWICE.
The place is clean, and well organized.

Very nice Japanese restaurant. We waited about 20 mins to get in on a Saturday night. The service was friendly. I just feel the music was a bit too loud, I need to raise my voice to talk to the person sitting in front.
The food is amazing, everything on the menu looks great. We ordered the dishes we tried in other countries, and the chef in this restaurant did a great job.

50% of sushi rolls all the time - from $7-9 each. At least three rolls is enough to feed two people imo, which is about $25 total! They have wide variety. I can’t speak to the izakaya food but that also looks tempting. Drinks are very reasonably priced. Most affordable sushi place in Seattle!

Food tasted good. Service was quick. They have few good cocktails listed on their menu. We also tried the lychee flavored sake. They have kid friendly menu options. Speciality sushi’s were good. They also have a sit down seating room

The vegan gyoza was so good we had to check that it was actually vegan. Tsukemen is lovely as well - thick flavorful dipping broth with chewy noodles and lots of fresh cilantro and bean sprouts. I got the ground pork on the side with the Tsukemen and i loved the numbing spiciness of the pork. Excited to go again for a dine-in experience!

Excellent food, and service. Our first time there and will definitely go again. Helpful waitress with questions about menu items.
Option for bento boxes on the lunch menu.

Absolutely fantastic food and equally fantastic service. I was there pretty late and I ordered a couple complex rolls with a lot of ingredients, but they didn't disappoint. Very fresh, high quality. I'll be going back soon for sure.

One of our favourite restaurants in NYC!!!! The quality of everything was amazing and the selection of food was perfect for an izakaya restaurant. Between 2 people, we would recommend 3 items because portions were quite large. The only thing to note is the music was quite loud so you have to yell to chat. Overall highly highly recommend!

The sushi here was awesome! Thick slabs of fish. The chicken yakitori was delicious as well! Wasn't thrilled with the rice katsu bowl, but I think that's just my own preference, not anything wrong with the food itself. Lastly, service was excellent as well!

They are open for lunch this week, so I went there to try the "Fluffy Dashi Omelet" sandwich by a Japanese chef. When I bit into the fluffy omelet, the flavor of dashi was amazing, and it was surprisingly rich and filling. This is the best sandwich I've ever had and probably the only place you can get it in New York. There is also a wide variety of menu items such as the famous Pork cutlet sandwich, Wagyu burger sandwich, chicken cutlet sandwich, and fried shrimp sandwich. Sandwich fans must try it!

Ramen was standard, nothing to complain about. Ordered the spicy ramen and there was a ball of paste to mix into the soup. Taste was good except the soup became very thick after the paste. Noodle texture was good. Great service and the servers were really sweet and welcoming. Bathroom was clean too. I’d come again!

I would give this place 10 out of 5 stars if I could. The food is FANTASTIC, and so are the people. Wonderful, warm and welcoming - a great spot all-around. My husband and I even made sure to stick to the same neighborhood when moving to be able to come here regularly. The spicy ramen is my favorite, at spice level 2. Tons of love for Shu especially, and for our favorite NYC ramen spot!

very interesting fusion dishes with a modern decor. we tried the mentai cream spaghetti which was more interesting in theory than in person. the upstate chicken was also enjoyable and the house made sakes are all spectacular. the service is pretty slow and not particularly attentive so don’t expect that but overall the experience here is nice. A good place to start a night out

Insanely good vegan gyoza, every bite was amazing. Super vibey intimate atmosphere. Excited to come back.

Are there no good restaurants in midtown? HAS. This is an Asian kitchen hidden downstairs. There's everything from ramen to sushi, from fried rice to chicken. Although the menu is extensive, the taste is above average. I liked the interior of the place and the service, we can say that the food was above average.

This is a hole-in-the-wall counter-service bar that makes you feel like you're in Tokyo with great music, Japanese cinema projected on the wall, and delicious food & drinks. We had the vegan gyoza, which tasted like there was pork in the filling, soft tofu with a crunchy shiso chile sauce, and their "sour beer" which has Asahi and citrus juice in a frosty glass. Everything was amazing.

We tried tomato ramen, garlic ramen and vegetarian ramen along with sake. The food was filling and decent. The service is quick and the host is very warm. Washrooms are super clean.

One of the only places that serves okonomiyaki in the city, and they do it well. Huge fan of the hiroshimayaki which includes all the add-ons I usually like for $1 extra for a good overall portion size. The wasabi octopus appetizer is also really great. Tried some other items on the menu like the fried items which were ok, and a little small portion-wise

You ever lost your appetite because something just disgusting or annoying happened to you so you don’t even want to eat your food anymore no matter how hungry/much you were craving that food?? Well, that’s exactly what happened to my family and me at this Yama location.
Long story short, DO NOT GO HERE because the service is absolutely absurd!!!! If you do go here, you better double AND triple check your receipt because they will charge you for items you did NOT eat!!!!
Right off the bat, service was horrible. Throughout the night, the waitress was rude and lacked proper work ethic, but I blew it off because I just wanted to eat my sashimi and call it a day. But when I saw my receipt included multiple items on there that we did not eat, and it was wayyyy more than it was suppose to be….that was the cherry on top. The only reason why we did not leave this Yama location and go to the Legacy location is because by the time we would’ve gotten to the other spot, it would’ve been too late to dine in. But guess what, after we paid, we made a to-go order right when we got into our car to pick up at the Legacy location because this one didn’t even have the items we wanted - only Legacy offered the extended menu like the Chinese Delight selections. So if you want that, do NOT go here! Save your time and go to Yama on Legacy. You’ll get better food, more options, and great service. I hope the manager and waitress read this review because I surely told them they need to revisit their customer guidelines. I wish I could’ve recorded the conversation the waitress were having with my family and me. Straight up RUDE. I also informed the other staff at the Legacy location so the owners can have a team huddle and see where areas of improvement may occur because having a franchise with one location being better than the other seems to be the trend nowadays. I just hope this Yama will do better AND be better. They’re lucky their sashimi was good because that’s why they’re getting 2 stars instead of 1. If it wasn’t good, I would’ve gave them 1 star

Really nice place to get top quality sushi and sashimi. We got the rock shrimp tempura to try, and it was really savory and tangy, comparable to Nobu’s!
We got miso soup and then our main dish came in. I can’t quite remember what one of the four rolls we got, but none of them are a miss. The only thing is they’re a bit pricey for a single roll but worth it once in a while!

This was a great experience and a lot of fun. We have never been to a Japanese restaurant before and had a couple of friends accompany us who are regulars. That really helped us in figuring out what we should order. We ordered a variety of sea food small plates and sake. Everything was delicious and I'm looking forward to going back!

Best sushi place in Plano! Their late night special after 10 PM is a stable for us and they have the best nigiri!

Love this spot with all of my heart. I usually go solo on a Monday or Tuesday. It’s perfectly cozy, usually playing good music, and not too crowded. My go-to is a Sapporo, then the takiniku (steak) + mushroom garlic fried rice, combine em in the same bowl if you’re feeling extra hungry. Perfect for what it is, always happy I went.

Great for party and gathering. The seafood was very fresh. There were lots of items on the menu to choose from. Everything was so good! Service was great. Will come back again.

Small place run by a nice Korean lady. Sushi rolls are good and cheap. Korean fried chicken was also good.

This is the third Yama I've been. The first one that serves Chinese.
Service: the servers just couldn't keep up with the small crowd that was there. It also took quite a bit of time before our food came out. I recommend a wider range of liquor like the other Yama locations because the selection was very limited (less than an open bar at a cheap wedding).
Food: from worst to best
-Spider roll: this roll was quite bad. I've never had one with such smelly crab 1* the crab must have gone bad because something did not smell right.
-caterpillar roll (green one): This was quite mediocre compared to other places. I didn't hate it, but I wouldn't order it again.
-ahi tower, like the caterpillar, was just meh. It just wasn't good.
-Volcano roll: my favorite 5* however it is rich and you will want another roll to offset it.
I think this location might be better at serving Chinese food. It's just not on the same par as the frisco YAMA or the Carrollton location. I'll come back for the Chinese food and update after.

Cute little hole in the wall place; prices were good, but the food wasn't the best. We had the volcano roll, Salmon Lover, and Sounder rolls; everything was super salty and over saused, and the fish was not fresh.

I had heard good things about Kyoto and wanted to try a Japanese restaurant, which serves more than sushi. Kyoto didn't disappoint. The ambiance and homely and the service is friendly. Most of the food was delicious, while some of it was ok. In appetizers th pork katsu was descent, while the takoyaki was very good. We got kids (4 & 7) the pork gyoza, Yakima soba noodles, and Yaki onigri. They loved it all. My wife ordered teppanyaki eel, which was the highlight of the dinner. I ordered the oknomiyaki, and it was delicious as well. Overall we had great time here. We will definitely recommend Kyoto, we will be back here soon.

Great go to lunch or dinner spot in midtown. Service is fast and food is delicious! Excellent for sharing with a group.
It gets super packed and loud inside so suggest coming early or on the later side of service to avoid crowds. Or suggest making a reservation if you can to avoid long wait time.

Authentic izakaya food. Sushi was fresh and the sashimi salad was refreshing. Chicken karage was crispy and juicy. I wish they pan fried the onigiri instead of grilling them.

Food and service was superb. You will find some creative dishes. Some dishes felt like they were a fusion of Japanese and Korean, and they were all fresh, tasty, and presented well. We were a group of five and we had to sit outside and the folding table and chairs were not very comfortable. I sat at the end with no leg room. I wouldn't recommend eating here with more than four people. There's a reason why this restaurant is always bustling. I wouldn't hesitate to come back again.

A total of 8 of us came to The Izakaya to celebrate my friend's birthday. Fortunately the restaurant takes reservations so we were able to book a table which was hidden towards the back. It was very nice and intimate!
The menu consists of tapas style Japanese dishes that ranged from sashimi, yakiniku, veggies, fried chicken, an assortment of rice dishes and more! I definitely recommend ordering a bunch of dishes and, I guarantee, you'll end up ordering more afterwards.
Also their sake selection is fantastic which includes the restaurant's in-house sake.

Great place for dinner. Limited seating but the food was really good. Interesting for the bowls that they use a different kind of seaweed that's not a flat piece but more like a weave. the uni and toro bowl was amazing. Also got the beef tan tan nabe soup that was also great. Skewers were nice and tender. The okonomiyaki was interesting in that it looked kinda like a square flat piece of sushi. Thought it was ok. The karaage and pumpkin salad was very good. Sea bass croquette was also good. Not too pricey eating alone but can certainly add up if eating family style. Waiters we're very attentive and helpful with the placement of food when it came.

It is my second visit to the restaurant. The restaurant is well decorated the food taste good.
We order a okonomiyaki with squid. It is good with a bunch of cabbage and squid. The duck dish is a little bit sweet and taste good. The Gyoza is hot and the bottom is crispy.
Overall, it is a good Japanese restaurant and worth a try!

I have been to almost all of the Yama locations and they never disappoint! I would highly recommend them and the service is great too! The prices are pretty fair as well and they stay open until 2 am!

Everything is mind-blowing! The addictive cabbage is actually addictive. The yakiniku beef is delightful flavored. The sake clam ramen was perfect chewy and flavor combination. The yellow tail sashimi was fatty and fresh. A true gem

A triple threat of Japanese, Chinese & Taiwanese dishes. Ramen soups very tasty and stirfry dishes excellent. Sizzling tofu is delicious and the best orange beef I’ve had in DFW. But wait there’s more…
Excellent sushi discount on Sundays. Get in here and grab a bargain roll. I have to say the bean curd, pork and bamboo stir fry is the BOSS!!
Calling all Ramen heads and sushi roll freaks. Where can a girl get herself a a Proper Tonkotsu bowl and rolls (spicy tuna and Cali) under $4? Right here! You can get stuffed up right for less but only on Sunday now Y’all.

Izakaya Sakura was real authentic Japanese, and very delicious. If Japanese food your craving please give this restaurant a try. You will not be disappointed. The price it's worth it, the selection of variety of different Japanese food was very impressive but the customer service was the impeccable, awesome to intact with the waiters and chiefs very down to earth. Also very child friendly has well so bring the whole family. Highly recommended and will be going back again.

Great sushi for the price. Order online to skip the wait. Only take out when I have been going. My favorites are the spicy tuna and salmon rolls. Everything is 50% always and the roll counts are large (compared to more expensive places downtown). Great place to grab some takeout and go to gasworks or another near by park.

Great place for tapas in the city near Saint Marks Place! we came here with a group of four, came hungry and left full. However the prices were pretty steep and our wallet stuff we took a hit! The restaurant overall is quite small and can only fit a handful of people. The weight staff was great. Each of the entrées had a different taste and texture. I will definitely give this place a try.

Went here for 1/2 price sushi on Sunday. Yes 1/2 price sushi!! Just keep in mind it is a select menu you can choose from on Sundays for the 1/2 price. We also ordered chicken lo mein to go with our sushi for two. Sushi was very well made and tasted fantastic. The lo mein had lots of flavor and liked the great mix of veggies inside the dish. Service was pleasant enough. Will definately come back!!

We love this place for quick and tasty rolls. The owner is sooooo sweet, we have been coming for years. Our go to rolls are Sounders, University Way, and 52nd, great little spot that won't disappoint!

Besides the fact it’s kind of out the way, it’s pretty decent restaurant. All the dishes we ordered was great. Especially the sandwich is a must-have. The restaurant itself is pretty small so it could get really crowded and loud so I wouldn’t recommend it for a date though it’s a good place to go with group of friends.
Service is also very friendly.

Every dish I've tried here is delicious! There's many options for authentic Japanese food, and although I haven't tried them yet there are also several Chinese dishes on the menu as well.
I would especially recommend the creamy seafood mentaiko udon! It's my favorite dish here, they recently started serving it at this location.

Nice and quick customer service. The prices were okay even though it’s 50% of all rolls 24/7. I’d never go here if it wasn’t for that “deal”. Anyways the sushi was average. The California roll crab salad was okay. This place isn’t like Japonesa or momiji. Small place, about only 8 tables.
