Great place to have some good Japanese food. The service is amazing. it's always a chill atmosphere when we go. I do hear it gets really busy during lunch because duh but if you go during non-rush time you'll be in for a nice dinner. The rice bowls, the pork buns, the sushi, the tapas, it's all delicious. I'll be sure to take pictures next time to add to this review.
No complaints. Food was great generous portions, great sushi, great atmosphere, perfect for a family dinner. Nothing but good things to say about the place. A bit on the pricey side but a good value.
This place was incredibly delicious and the service was excellent. My family enjoyed the atmosphere and the music was also nice. I had the Yokushi don and the pork was so tender and full of flavor. The pickles added the perfect crunch and sweet note. The Spicy tuna poke bowl was a phenomenal delicacy and very palate pleasing. My son says “Best seafood ramen ever thank you!”. Ahi sashimi was so extremely fresh. We will be back to this place! Customer service was super and prompt. If I could leave a 100 stars I would.
Very authentic food! Best Japanese food I have tried in Hawaii. The flavor is impressive, and they are not pricy. You can’t miss it!
I really like the vibe of this restaurant. It reminds me of some izakaya store in Japanese drama. The staff are friendly and I can feel the good atmosphere to being as a team. Also I really like the fusion dish with Korean soup base plus some pho. This is exactly what I want to eat at the moment. Recommend!

The main issue was the food. The skewers are neither charred enough nor hot enough. The liver was dry, the tsukune was flavourless, and everything else did not meet expectations.

Amazing food, authentic and reasonably priced! The place is small so be sure to get a reservation first. The service is friendly and we love the vibe. Some of the best yakitori I had recently!! Would love to come back again.
My favorite yakitori spot on the island. The stuff is so so friendly and the food is beyond tasty! We love the large meatball(with egg yolk) and the chicken thigh so much! Will come back a million times ;)

I was visiting Rockford and looking for a place to eat. I found a restaurant called Shogun online. The menu looked good, so I decided to give it a try. It was a little bit confusing at first, as there appeared to be two restaurants inside the same space. One was Shogun and the other was Izakaya 88. Both had open seating signs posted. I asked at the counter, and it was explained that it's not really two separate restaurants and that it's just a matter of preference as to which "restaurant" atmosphere one prefers. The Shogun side was bright, more basic in terms of decor, and more communal in its layout. The Izakaya 88 side was dim, had lovely modern decor, and was more private. I opted for Izakaya. I ordered the shrimp tacos, vegan ramen, and a sushi dragon roll. Although more Tex-Mex than Asian, the tacos were quite tasty and the amount of shrimp included was generous. The vegan ramen was also good. The broth and noodles were flavorful. Both the tacos and ramen were good values for the price charged. As far as the sushi dragon roll, it was just okay. Not bad, but I imagine that if I were trying sushi for the first time, I'd think to myself it's okay but not something I'd go out of my way for. Which is unfortunate, because I'm quite fond of sushi and, in particular, this style of roll. As to what made the roll just okay, I think it was a few things. The tempura had gotten soggy and didn't hold up well. There was actually a lot of tempura batter that overpowered the flavor of the other ingredients. As for the other ingredients, I feel like the proportions were off (and too little for the price of the roll). Also, the eel sauce wasn't as good as others I've tried, but this might just be a subjective preference. As far as service, it was good. The server was friendly. The food came out all at once (I hadn't specified an order) and was brought out by bus persons. When the server came to check on how everything was, it was just after the food had arrived. So, I think another stop further into my meal would have been nice. Overall, I had a good experience and would recommend this restaurant. Maybe don't get the dragon roll though.

Saiko! The best yakitori I've had in the USA. In my humble opinion as a non Japanese person that has had yakitori in Tokyo. Great ambience, unpretentious and warm, I'd come here with close friends and share a drink if I could! The skewers were packed with flavor. I recommend the salt one over the sauce options. Along with the bacon wrapped in rice skewers. If ordering Kamameshi (steamed rice in a pot), I'd recommend getting more skewers and maybe yakisoba (stir fried noodles) as it takes quite awhile. Very friendly servers and I left satisfied. I think it strikes a good value in this inflationary world. Thank you for having us!
Better come during weekdays before 5:30pm. If not, you have to wait for minimum 1-2 hours. Not good for a large party size as the place is really small. But the music is really great. As I’m just an amateur jazz listener, sometimes I don’t get music played by some jazz artists. But I feel like music played in Tomi Jazz is ‘amateur friendly’, as I enjoy listening to them. We ordered omurice, curry croquette, and avocado pasta. Their food is not amazing, but it’s ok.
The best sushi restaurant I’ve visited in DFW. Price to Quality to Service ratio is literally 10/10 ( I’d rate higher if I could ). Food is not only fresh but the recipes have a great taste to them. I’m picky & don’t want to spend a fortune ( unless really worth it ) & Ebesu gives me a chance to have a great dinner and not break the bank. Better than your regular hyped but not high quality sushi places.
Not often amazed but wow, this japanese restaurant is legit. All the staff and chefs were very sincere. Honored to have executive chef Koji make part of our meal. Got the ebesu signature course. Everything was so yummy. Sushi, robata, wagyu on hot stone and more. Great to try a little bit of everything. All the food was fresh and delicious. They had a birthday cake for our special occasion. Highly recommended! Beats out many of the other japanese restaurants in dfw
I brought my niece here for a late lunch. 1:30. So quiet and nice. Great service and hibachi is flavorful and customizable. Also has a sushi roll (spicy crab) that was great! This would be a fantastic place for a birthday or other celebration!!

My fiancee and I experience Izakaya for the first time on 10/07/2023 and it wasn't a good experience. We were seated at a random table with a family that was celebrating a birthday and i would like to say that the family was very polite. But that being said the Chef had has back turned towards us pretty much the whole time and our portion of food was very slim compared to the family seated next to us. We brought it up to management and they didn't acknowledge the problem. We went because of all the good reviews but we didn't experience everything good there. This is our experience and this was enough for us never to go back.
We went back to Ebesu tonight for dinner, and ordered from practically every section and tried two items from their special menu. We had an amazing time, the food and service were impeccable!

In addition to what was pictured, we also ordered some dishes off the robata menu (always delicious), but a surprising favorite is the mixed mushrooms. Definitely one to try because of the unique presentation.

Arrive early, as it gets busy and there is always a line! No cover charge Monday-Thursday. Delicious, flavorful food. I enjoyed the lemon drop cocktail. The cod roe spaghetti is amazing. Shrimp shumai, edamame, lobster scallion pancake, croquettes, all good as well. The place is filled with cool trinkets and beautiful mood lighting. Polite and attentive staff. I found it slightly warm inside, and we were seated on stools without backs (seating is very limited) and they only let a few people in at a time as it’s a small place. Those are my only minor complaints. I’m not a huge fan of jazz but this was a nice experience.
Been here dozens of times and they usually knock it out of the park with the food. Always 5 stars. Not so much this time. My wife decided to try the salmon with the fried rice, steak, shrimp, veggies, and udon noodle hibachi. It was beyond fishy. I got a few appetizers and the tonkatsu ramen. The ramen broth was over the top salty. No bueno
Rarely do I wait for 2 hours to get into a restaurant. This was one of those rare occasions when it was entirely worth it. We got there at 5:50 and got in at 7:40. The food, atmosphere, music and drinks were all wonderful. Prices very fair. Highly recommend the cod roe udon and curry udon soup, salmon rice balls and green tea ice cream. I also had the road runner cocktail and it was delicious. One of those gems that is worth waiting for. I will definitely be back.
Located on a strip mall opposite Costco, parking isn’t difficult, and there are 2 spaces specific for Yokushi Robata customers. The restaurant has beautiful but simple decor. Staff were friendly and courteous. I was greeted upon stepping into the restaurant.
I ordered okonomiyaki, and Ikageso karaage as appetizers, salmon sashimi, beef with wasabi and yuzu sauce skewer, pork katsu curry, and chicken katsu ramen. Both appetizers were delicious. The pork top of the okonomiyaki was crispy and seasoned right. The cabbage gave the crunch. The mayo brought the dish together. The Ikageso Karaage was fried perfectly, not oily at all, and the spicy mayo sauce was yummy! Salmon sashimi was fresh and the slices weren’t too thin. The beef with wasabi and yuzu sauce skewer was surprisingly good. The wasabi added the “heat” while the yuzu sauce balanced the flavors of the beef and the wasabi. Highly recommend this dish! The pork katsu curry, and chicken katsu ramen were good. The pork and chicken were nicely fried. They were crispy and light. The curry had the standard Japanese curry taste. The ramen broth was light but could be more flavorful.

I love coming here. The ambience is so lovely, especially when they have live music! I always get myself a plum wine whenever I’m here. Reasonable prices for good Japanese comfort food. Service is very friendly, a must visit when in NYC! I am a recurring customer :)

The people are amazing my daughter is vegetarian and her soup is amazing and I have tried the chicken and pork and it's delicious yummy yummy.
The food was amazing! We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The service was great and they made us feel special! We ordered the hamachi crudo (must get!), volcano box roll (delish), and the salmon deluxe roll (surprisingly yummy). Looking forward to our next date night here at Ebesu!
All cuts of chicken yakitori were delicious, be it heart, gizzard or thigh. All other dishes were also great - with plenty of fresh seafood or rich raw egg yolks as sauces for rice.
Amazing hidden gem! Had an amazing time at Tomi Jazz listening to some music and eating delcicious bites. My favorite were the omelette and the croquetes; would nor have the mozzarella with prosciutto again because it didnt stand out as much. The service was impecable and the singer was lovely. The vibes were great. Overall I thought it was pretty affordable for the high quality. Came in around 5:30 and waited for 40 min to be seated (and ir was raining so I think ir was less busy than usual). Recommend coming in early and on a weekday. Will be coming again!

An amazing hole in the wall with fantastic jazz music, drinks and atmosphere. They do not take reservations so going with a large group will take a long time to get seated. For reference, we went as a group of 5 on the weekend and started waiting at 8pm, it took almost 2 hours to get seated. Music cover was $10 per person. The drinks were delicious and a large selection to choose from. We didn’t get to try their food but we saw other tables getting it and it looked good as well. Highly recommend!
My favorite Japanese restaurant in town! Fresh and flavorful. Extensive menu at reasonable prices. Interesting interpretation of classic cocktails with a Japanese twist (may not be for everyone). Interacting with Chef Koji at the sushi bar will enhance the quality of the dining experience.
This was the random bar we stopped by yet the best place in entire NYC trip. Servers are friendly, great jazz music & atmosphere. Waited about 10 minute to get in but definitely worth it!

We visited EBESU because YELP rated this restaurant #18 in the state. The restaurant is elegant, modern, and spacious yet cozy. The sushi is very fresh, some of the best we’ve ever had. We arrived during happy hour so our table ordered a beer, a saki mojito, and bacon wrapped tomatoes and quail eggs for an appetizer. Our main dish was four sushi rolls; Spicy tuna, Spicy Dragon, Salmon avocado cucumber, and Yellowtail Avocado cucumber. The prices were very reasonable, even less than other sushi restaurants in the city. When I made a reservation on the restaurant’s website, I indicated that we were celebrating a family birthday. We received a complimentary piece of cake with ice cream and a candle to enjoy after our meal. That made the evening so special. According to the website, parties of 2 or less are limited to 1.5 hours and parties of 4 or less are limited to 1 hour and 45 minutes. I assume this is because the restaurant is not large and very popular. The website also asks you to indicate that you accept these terms. Diners who arrive more than 20 minutes late for their appointment will lose their reservation. Our reservation options were very early or very late. If you go, and I highly recommend this restaurant, try to make reservations at least a few days in advance.
For months I have loved to see pictures of beautiful, balanced, and nourishing Japanese set meals and was so happy to try one in Brooklyn. Set in the bright and fresh 50 Norman, a quarter of the space is dedicated to dashi concocting, premade dashi, furikake, miso, and teas. Food is served adjacent and you can see dashi mixes made fresh (without additives!) through clear windows by the people who work there. The other half is dedicated to unique art, pottery, and fragrances. Everyone is friendly and will give helpful advice and recommendations.

Very good Tonkotsu ramen! The broth was creamy, but not the most flavorful I’ve ever had. Service was great, especially considering we came in within an hour of closing. Also it’s right by Urban Social so you can get a good hearty dinner before drinks and hookah.
Drew and John provided us with the best service, making sure our drinks were always filled and our food was prepared in a timely manner. Will definitely visit again.
No complaints. Reserved a table on their website, was seated immediately. Authentic Japanese experience, except for the lack of physical paper menus. Even the restroom has a bidet, for those who would like to be extra clean. Crunchy spicy avocado roll was delicious. Shrimp tempura roll was fine. I tried to order the healthier, cooked rolls options, and there aren't that many to choose from, but I'm happy with what I did get.

Nice ambiance, very nice bar, fresh fishes, our server was knowledge about the menu which lead to our decision to get the amazing tuna flat bread. Super busy on a Tuesday but the food was promptly delivered. The beautifully presented and rich of flavor desserts sealed this great experience nicely.
Today I dined at Izakaya M. and unfortunately, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with the service I experienced. The waitress's rude demeanor and unpleasant glances throughout the meal made the overall dining experience truly miserable.
I have a food allergy to avocados and kindly requested to substitute them with cucumbers in my crispy rice order. However, the waitress informed me that there would be an up charge for this substitution, which seemed unreasonable given that avocados are typically more expensive than cucumbers and only a small amount of avocado was usually used in the dish.
When I pointed out that I had visited the restaurant before and never been charged for such substitutions, the waitress suggested speaking to the manager. I agreed to do so, but to my disappointment, the manager never approached me during the meal. I assumed the issue was resolved, but to my surprise, when the bill arrived, there was an extra dollar charge for the minimal amount of cucumber I had requested.
Upon questioning the waitress about this discrepancy, she outright lied, stating that I had never asked to speak to the manager. Her attitude towards me was extremely disrespectful, and she even went as far as to claim that the owner was present and offered to have me speak with her. I agreed to meet the owner, hoping to resolve the matter, but regrettably, the owner never came to address the situation.
Later, the manager approached and conveyed that the owner had requested that both my guest and I not return to the restaurant. I was appalled by this decision as the waitress had clearly deceived the owner with inaccurate information about the incident.
The unprofessional behavior displayed by the waitress, her dishonesty, and the lack of action taken by the management team and owner have left me disheartened. I had hoped for an enjoyable dining experience, but instead, I was met with disrespect and an unfortunate outcome.
As a customer, I believe in fair and honest treatment, and I am deeply disappointed by the way this situation was handled. I cannot recommend Izakaya M. to anyone given the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff, particularly the waitress, and the lack of accountability from the management and owner.

Food was great! I got the line chili beef ramen, fried chicken. Ramen was very spicy but also very good. Similar to tom yum but actually spicy. Would come back again, but maybe on a bad hair day as the place is small so ventilation is not the best.

I’d just like to solely address the customer service I received last night at Izakaya M by the waitress, named “Pearl.” Respectfully, I didn’t like the way you handled my visit last night. I don’t appreciate the wrong food order twice and the belittling attitude. I’m sorry that I needed a couple more napkins and extra eel sauce. You also made my partner feel like asking for the bill was such a big task for you when we finished. I understand that you’re only human and may even have other things going on, but that still doesn’t give you the right to treat your clientele negatively. Food was great and ambiance was fine but it’s the experience that weighs more on the clients. For that I am not going to host my grandmother’s 80th birthday there.
My favorite sushi place on this side of the hill! You must do their happy hour! The best hand rolls! One of the coolest thing, they have red velvet cupcakes brought in from Doughboy!
The portion is relatively small however very tasty! Eggplant is very salty so please be careful! The steam sake calm is suuuuuuper good which you definitely should try! The overall price is not cheap, please be careful if you just want to pick a quiet and easy talking place, it's to me more like a fine-dining japanese restaurant.

Taking a chance on Izakaya was such a wonderful experience. After a long work day, I happened to stumble upon this spot. Nori was kind enough to recommend the Half and Half bowl (Vegan savory and Lemongrass Ramen). It was the perfect balance of savory and spice with the broth and veggie mix. I am going to return and recommend this place to all of my friends. Thanks again for helping me feel comfortable Nori! 💜🙏🏾

The ramen here is AMAZING! I had the creamy vegan ramen which comes with soy cutlets, corn, spinach and bean sprouts. I added portabello mushrooms to my ramen and it was worth the upcharge. 😍 My sister had the chicken ramen and it was also really great! Ordered the chicken wings, which come with a spicy green sauce on top. Delish!! The fries were served with some special seasoning which made them really tasty. Seaweed salad was pickled to perfection. 😋
Came here on a Sunday night for Japanese street food and drink snacks. We ordered edamame, jellyfish salad, pork chasu bun, unagi, pork belly skewer, chicken gyoza, chicken thigh skewer and fried potato croquettes. What stand out are jelly fish salad, pork chasu bun, and potato croquettes. The decorations at interesting with traditional Japan details. The service was fast and good. Will come back!
The yummiest traditional Japanese meal here. The fish practically melts off the bone and is seasoned so perfect. The dashi and customizable dashi part of the store is top notch. I tell all my Japanese friends in Queens about this place because there's no other place like this in the city.
Just want you miss from tsukiji outer market or side streets in Tokyo! Buy pre-packaged and make your own custom dashi. There are also a ton of other food items to buy from miso to soba to rice. Dashi does take 20-30 minutes to process, they will call but be aware of the time.
Do you ever walk into a Japanese restaurant and see a lot of Japanese people eating there? That’s usually considered a great sign that the food is authentic. This is the case for Sankyu. It is very good. Their sushi is simple but done correctly. Their ramen is the best in a 10 mile radius. Try the rest of their menu for authentic Japanese cuisine too.
Restaurant has two seperate space, one for live chefs cooking on hot oven and the other part is standard restaurant style that you order from Menu. We enjoyed having our cook prepared front of us with lots of fun with the chef entertaining actions and also having our meal cooked! The portions are generous and delicious but there is some room for improving food quality to become perfect! But all togher food and atmosphere are great! Go for it

Really delicious fish sets. There’s also dashi packets for sale at the front. Have used them to make ochazuke at home and they are so convenient to have on hand!
This was one of the best ramen places I have ever been too! The taste was great the service was great! The cloudy strawberry sake was superb! And Free candy! Overall 10/10

Bad experience on dining in the restaurant. As I walked in, I didn’t notice that the tiny place was made of shabby furniture. I started feeling uncomfortable after sitting 10 mins on the seat . Mostly importantly, when the waitress start serving the food, the taste of good can make you kept thirty and want to drink as much as water so that the fire in your stomach can be winded down. After serval bites on what I order, I was so surprised I have to pay over 100$ for the bad experience. I will never come back again. Bye!
Worst izakaya experience in NYC! To begin with, the ambience/construction is very cheap, you’ll be sitting on the most uncomfortable chair ever with chipped plywood table that can scratch your arm, the exposed concrete wall “decoration” made me laugh.
The food is even worse. The “addictive” cabbage tastes like soaking in sesame oil and nothing else, $7. The crab fried rice is way too salty with MSG and portion is very small for $30(although we can’t finished it because we’ll be drinking 10 cups of water by then). Nanban chicken and sake clam is not that bad, but very mediocre as they put too much mayonnaise and butter. Everything is very greasy even under the standard of izakaya dish. Definitely not recommend, it is not a restaurant that worth $60/person.

The sushi 🍣 and tapas tasted wonderful.we sat at the bar and Our sushi chef made sure we were always taken care of. I have to say the bulgogi on a bed of sauteed asparagus, broccoli, and onions was one of my favorite dishes, I could go and just get the vegetables and be happy. and would go back for the crispy onion and albacore. I gave service 4 stars because the server forgot I ordered a drink and took a long time to get our check. But an overall great experience. They also have LATE NIGHT HAPPY HOUR from 9 till close💫💫💫💥

Fantastic Japanese food in a very unique space. It is very expensive but the flavor and authenticity mostly make it worth it. Small but delicious plates. Ceramics and dried foods available for purchase also!

Great vibes, located inside of a Japanese concessions store. You're definitely in for an experience when you hang here with your friends and chat for hours over tea and bento set. The set was around $35 and contains a fish and some side dishes. The fish was well prepared, but wished they featured more dashi in their dishes served. Some tofu soup, oden, or chawanmushi would have been nice. Overall light and satisfying meal. Id be curious to try out their broth station next.

Very nice cuts! Great flavor. Had albacore w crispy onions (came on side, so could pour desired amt), sashimi samplers, cucumber princess roll, rainbow roll (in middle of big tray in pic) and 2 spicy tuna rolls.
OMGoodness this is the best hibachi grill in the state from what I was hearing and after trying the food...I'll have to agree. I've been to others but none as delicious as this. The cook new exactly how to make our food and was even accommodating to those with allergies, work event. Will return delicious spicy dragon roll!!!

It’s a nice Izakaya restaurant! However, the wait time of the dishes were longer than we expected. To start with people usually select a few skewers and then order more and more dishes, so to not waist your time I recommend you to order everything at once.
I liked their skewers - vegetables wrapped in pork. Beef skewer was juicy in a good sauce. The chicken gizzards skewer was a bit tough for me. However, we really liked the restaurant, it's a cozy and good place.

If you are into Ramen, Izakaya has reasonable prices with great tasting food. This place will satisfy your Ramen craving and every plate is loaded with noodles. Simple menu. And, If you like Sake, try the Cloudy Strawberry or Pineapple, great drink. At the end we were treated with some complimentary toastie churros as a holiday treat.
Had an enjoyable meal here tonight. Dishes were fresh and tasty, except for the Grilled Eggplant which had a touch too much miso, making it quite salty. Still an enjoyable meal nonetheless!

Well executed items but no charcoal grill so missing the smoky aromas. The fried dishes were excellent. Feels like a joint in Japan for sure.
Let's start this review with a wow! What a flavorful and savory miso soup. Butter garlic fried rice excellent in texture, flavor, and aroma. Fried scallops and tartar sauce were fresh and delicious. Miso mushroom Salmon was amazing. Perfectly cooked meat with a slightly spicy miso glaze and perfectly charred mushrooms. Worth every penny!

We had the menu for 3-4 people and it left the 4 of us happy. All the food was great, and everybody loved it, not an easy feat with so many different flavors and palates. It all came out quickly, sometimes a bit too quickly, and yet the place was inviting and we didn't feel rushed. The waitress was very attentive and nice.

Like traditional Izakaya, the premise is you order a beer along with a half dozen or so (per person) small dishes consisting of BBQed meat, each costing $3-5. So basically you go taste a variety of different meats and get drunk, an excellent combo.
The only downside is their limited beer selection (they only serve Japanese beer on tap).

I like this place. The takoyaki's slap, and the food isn't haft bad. I'll say though, that this place has a problem that most local spots have... they're understaffed and seriously need more ppl to maximize the consumer base. I could be wrong, maybe when i went — it was just an off day.

Spicy Tonkatsu Ramen was excellent. I have had it twice now and frequent this place often. Broth is a highlight. Prices are very reasonable!
Overall experience was a bit lacking but the food was pretty good. Fried chicken was a generous portion and really enjoyed the ramen, very original taste. Unfortunately, the restaurant was freezing it seemed like the heat wasn't working at all. And our server wasn't very knowledgeable. Didn't have a clue about any of the wines or sake but gave us tastings so we could try ourselves. Seemed like it was his first few shifts but did make an effort. Might visit again if I were in the neighborhood but many other places I'd prefer to try first.
This has been my go to place whenever I want Sukiyaki. Sukiyaki is only offered for dinner. It’s simplified version but can’t complain for the price tag.

Outstanding experience. House sake is the best I've tasted. Good Japanese beer selection. Delicious food. We've had a variety of appetizers; sushi; ramen and dessert. Everything was great. Service is also fantastic. Will be back
Yakitori with many choices. Buta, enoki, chicken thighs just a few must try items. They get busy and parking can be a bit of a challenge but worth the wait. Don't forget to get some beer too. Friendly staff and kitchen workers too.

Their ceviche Roll was also a favorite. But you also have to try the Spicy Scottman and Pitchfork Roll. No need to add to the flavor because it's already ready to go directly into your mouth!

The place had a great atmosphere. We were on the hibachi side. There was a screaming child at the table behind us. The mom did her best to calm him but, if he doesn't wanna be there!

The Chashu Pork Bun was succulent and Delicious!! The pork literally melted in my mouth!! The flavor wasn't overpowering and it definitely wasn't underpowering either, it was just right 😌.
I also ordered the Okonomiyaki which was nice and crispy on the outer edges yet nice, soft and delicious in the center 🥰🥰 It reminded me of the first time I had okonomiyaki at a Japanese Arcade and the time I had it in New York at a small Japanese stall (weird.. I know lol). The purple yam fries are always amazing especially when paired with their special mayo and the Ebi mayo is always an excellent starter!!

The food was great and the staff was really friendly. It was interesting to try the chef's special sashimi plate. The tofu was refreshing. The pork cheek was packed with flavor. My roommate loved the soba noodles. My favorite was the taiyaki. Next time, I will have to try their whiskey. I wouldn't bring a picky eater here. Just beware if they are busy because service can get really slow. I'd come back.here for sure.
I've always had a great experience. Food and service are great on the Teppan side. Izakaya side is either hit or miss depending on your server. As long as the food is delicious everything is usually good in my opinion.
Yakitori for $3.90... you want it? You will get 2 sticks per order. The staff are efficient and they keep your water cups filled but the food takes a while because there's only 1 grill and 1 cook. They are located on Kapahulu Avenue and only open for dinner. You should make a reservation in advance because they get busy. The parking in this area is limited and I normally park on the street in the residential area; their parking lot is always full and the spaces are tight.
